HOW TO CUSTOMIZE VENTURE THEME IN SHOPIFY

hey guys welcome back to my channel and,in today's video i am going to do a free,shopify customization and our current,theme is venture so we are going to do,adventure shopify customization so,venture them is really good if you're,selling so many products in your store,so in today's tutorial i am going to,show you how you can customize the,entire venture shopify theme,so to do that make sure you are on your,online store click online store and then,come up to dim and this is the page that,is going to look like,and now we are going to click customize,so this is how our customization,page is going to look like and we are,going to start customizing the entire,theme and first we are going to start on,our header section so click header,and on the header section here we are,going to start by,selecting our logo so if you have a logo,click here select image and then upload,your longer image either if you have it,on your computer,go and upload it so i'm just gonna go,and upload my,logo image so now my logo is uploading,and then i'm going to click select,so as you can see,it looks really big and it looks very,very weird so,we are going to come here on the custom,logo width and we are going to change,the size,so change until you see the size you,like,i put 100 let me put 60.,okay i'm gonna put,i'm gonna put 70,okay 70 looks great to me so you can put,the pixel size of your logo with your,word one to have so let's say just in,case you don't like this logo that you,uploaded you can click here on change,you can change your image or you can,remove it and upload a new one,okay now this is a main menu you can,change your main menu or you can remove,it but for now i'm just going to leave,it like that i'll show you how you can,do that,then we are going to do announcement but,this is where you can add an,announcement if you want to show an,announcement and appear on your home,page of your store you can select this,box to show announcement and on the text,box here you can,announce what you want,so i'm just gonna put something like,hello,welcome to my store,so something like that,okay,you can add any kind of um,any kind of announcement you want to,tell your customer for example you can,say like free shipping on all other of,um from 75,or uh there is a 20 of the entire site,something like that,and then you can add the link,so if you want to add a link for your,blog your policies,um pages product collection etc that,it's gonna be up to you but you can do,that so when your customer click,um the announcement selection the,announcement section there it's gonna,take them straight to either your,collection page product page pages blog,blog posts policies etc it's also,optional you don't have to add the link,if you don't want to,so this is how we can edit our header,for now now let's click save so we can,save our work that we have done so far,and let's go back,now it's time to add different slideshow,here for our products,so you can add as many slideshow as you,want so far we

Shopify Venture Theme Review & Overview

hi guys so the video you're about to,watch is actually a clip taken from one,of my recent videos in which i gave sort,of an overview and my review of every,single free shopify theme on shopify's,theme store so if you guys are just,first right now getting started choosing,a theme for your shopify store,i'd recommend you guys go check out that,video it gives a pretty good overview of,what the different pros and cons of each,theme is and like what your choices are,as far as themes go so i'll leave a link,to that down in the description of this,video,and i'll also link to it at the end of,this video but uh without further ado,let's just get started with this theme,review,alright guys so we're in the home,stretch here the final theme that i want,to review today,is the venture theme,so venture is an interesting theme,it's one of my favorite themes actually,you can see this one also just like,supplies built for,large catalogs this one has an,interesting uh drop down menu you can,actually show product images straight in,the menu slideshow pretty standard for,most shopify themes,uh promotional banner that's also the,same it's just the thing across the top,that's a lot of stores have that product,filtering uh it's like debut where you,can you can actually just choose like,okay this is best selling sort of,products by you know uh alphabetically,like there's different filters for it so,if we look at reviews of this it's 46,positive um i like this theme a lot to,be honest um so i'm gonna have to,disagree with these reviews but um you,know,there's 67 reviews so there's a decent,number of people using it it's,interesting because this is like a,snowboarding store in the demo you know,anything about the ceo of shopify he,actually started the first company he,started was a snowboard store so i think,this is sort of a throwback to uh and i,think it was called snow devil if i,remember correctly yeah he launched a,store called snow devil so this is sort,of a call back to that you can see that,there's actual product images featured,in the drop-down um so this is the only,free theme on shopify that has this so,if you want this functionality on your,site you're either going to have to hire,cus coder to do it or code it yourself,or um use this theme now you can see,this is um just of some featured,collections here this is a featured,collection with the products it's,another featured collection with,products and then they have the footer,now let's see um the different theme,styles so we have outdoors as well this,is once again going to have the products,in the drop down uh this is not a hover,drop down i do have a video um,discussing how you can uh you know,really simply with copy paste code how,you can create a hover drop down and,venture um,you know this is a similar setup to the,other one uh let's go to boxing,and you know it's gonna it's probably,gonna be a similar setup once again yep,same sort of menu uh if we go to one of,these products and we we add these to,our c

How to Move Logo Next to Menu Links in Venture Theme in Shopify

what i'm going to show you to do is,on the venture theme take,the logo up top here in your header and,put it,right next to your navigation menu,it's pretty simple to do it's something,that a lot of folks,would like to know how to do that's what,we're going to cover,the first thing that we'll want to do is,go into our theme files here,click on online store themes,let me refresh my page here,perfect we have the venture theme,let's go ahead and edit code,where we'll want to go is our sections,folder click into header,let's go and find where,that section is you can see this,div item right here or this grid item,this is actually your logo happening,and if you have an image for your logo,this is what is generated,but we want to move this we want to move,this again down to where the navigation,is,if we scroll all the way down here,you can see this is the list,that's where the menu is i'm going to,create,another grid item right here,and put this right before,that menu like a div,starting on line 150 here class equals,grid item,and this is going to be let's make this,2 8.,all right now the thing about this and,this is tricky,is let's just put an h1 tag just to show,you,if we do that we save it let's refresh,oh i'll have to preview this,let me go back and re preview it from,inside here,we are notice how we put an h1 tag in,there,but we're not seeing it now this part is,a little bit tricky because what we'll,have to do is we'll have to go let me,just go and edit our code here,and back in our header where we added,our own grid item,what you need to do is you need to class,site,nav link you need to add this site nav,like i believe that's what it is,it's not this right here this is what we,want,let's scroll up back here this is what,we want right here site,hyphen nav two underscores link,now if we refresh there we see,our code right there it's rendering our,link,or our h1 tag,all we have to do is go up and grab this,image this logo image and if we just,grab,this right here that should be enough,scroll down where is our h1 tag,we'll surround it in our h1 tag,just like that we could reinvent this,now if we save this refresh,there goes our logo,right next to the navigation here now,you'll see that we have,two of these and we could simply delete,it if we wanted to we could delete,this top one and if we removed it,what would happen is let me show you,if we remove this i'm going to inspect,this,here's what will happen as,your view here gets smaller and smaller,and smaller,notice how now we don't see anything we,don't see your logo,what this is doing up top here is it,allows you it's just more mobile,friendly it allows you to see the logo,when your screen gets too small so when,somebody's on their phone,on their ipad whatever it is you still,see that logo,so instead of just getting rid of it i'm,going to add,another class let me just go and find,find in our header here we see that the,h1 tag is right here,all we have to do is add,another class right here and there's

Shopify Change Image on Hover Tutorial - Venture Theme

hey guys so in today's video i basically,wanted to kick off a series where i'm,gonna,be going to uh top performing ecommerce,sites across the web,and implementing uh features that i find,on them,and so this is a response to someone uh,in one of my comments but i think that,uh the feature that i'm gonna cover in,today's video is is,really helpful for increasing conversion,rates and just making your site look,uh prettier and and more functional,so uh if you're interested stick around,um,the the code is gonna be very easy it's,gonna be copy paste,all right guys so today's website that,i'm on is um burberry.com,it's a men and women's clothing uh site,and so uh from you know my quick,little research uh burberry does about,four billion,um great british pounds per year uh,so a very successful e-commerce site,um and so let's see uh what features we,can,we can learn from burberry and what we,can potentially code into some of the,shopify,free themes so um so here we're on this,this uh collection we can go to any of,these collections so we can go to this,quilts and puffers or whatever,um if we hover over,these images you see that um basically,you have an image of the the jacket then,or the puffer then when you hover over,it has an image of the model,right and so i i really like this uh,functionality,i think that makes the site just a,little bit more interactive and less,static,and i think it also um it must be,increasing,increasing their click-through rates,drastically um,just getting two different looks at the,same product um,you know it's going to drive people to,that that product page so let's see how,we can uh go ahead and implement this,this um this feature on our shopify site,if we go ahead and and we're gonna go uh,let's let's look at our store first,really quickly just,just so we can see that the,functionality that uh that we want isn't,there,so uh if we go to a collections page,um you see right now that basically when,we hover over this,uh this product this monkey hugs this,was like a demo in a,different video or whatever i don't mind,just don't mind the name,so uh so anyway so so if we hover over,this monkey hugs product right now,what's happening is we have this view,button popping up,and um we don't have like the second,image displaying for it right,and so uh what we're gonna do basically,is,we're gonna put an option first of all,we're gonna get rid of this uh like,view button um and then the other thing,that we're gonna do,is when when we hover over here uh and,let me just make sure that's right,because they don't have a yeah they,don't have a view button that pops up so,yeah so we're gonna get rid of the view,button,and when we uh hover over this uh,we're just gonna take this this uh,featured image and just,uh increment it by one and just go to,the second image for the product so if,we navigate back to our,admin panel the absolute first thing,that we want to do really quickly,is we want to go ahead and download the,theme file so you're going t

How To Show Products in the same Collection on the Product Page for the Venture Theme Shopify

okay in this video i'm going to show you,how to add um more products by um the,vendor,um or the collection right for uh,product pages,um,getting more products from the same,collection or vendor,right in on the product page for the,venture theme in shopify was driving me,kind of crazy,so i had to get a good night's sleep and,then,come back at this guy so this is the,venture theme before the 2.0 update,so what i have to do is if you notice in,the original default um venture theme it,just has you may also like right in the,back end it doesn't have the ability for,more products by dave's pet pet food,right some of the newer themes are,starting to add this um so what i ended,up doing,was i went into the back end to look at,this now this particular client has it,set up where,these are the actual vendors but all the,vendors,have their own collection pages right so,in order for it to work,um correctly for do that we have them,create collections for all of their,different vendors that makes life a lot,easier right so here's what we ended up,doing,if you go back into the back end of your,uh liquid code here so you're gonna go,into your theme and then we're gonna go,ahead and go to edit code,i'm not gonna show you the other,dashboard you'll need to see that yes i,do have a bunch of tabs open at the top,there and i also have like multiple,windows probably like 20 widgets from,chrome open with the same amount of tabs,so this is a mac it is a 2012 it does,fly the speed of light um just got a new,one but this thing seems like it's,faster,um anyway so whenever i'm going to make,changes even though there's this older,variations thing i always make sure i,make a backup right i'm going to edit,something so in this instance i'm going,to go ahead and just expand this to make,this bigger and then inside,product.liquid,it didn't have this section so i had to,create this section and how i did that,was you scroll down,and you go to sections,and then you click on add new section,and you type in the name and then in,this case it was,uh,this guy right here,products in this collection okay so i,created that section,and if you scroll down here and i'll,paste the code down into this as well so,products in this collection so i ended,up just copying the,product recommendations um,liquid code,but i deleted everything i just kept the,main css and such so you can copy this,code in the description below it might,make you like a lot easier,um but if you go ahead and look at this,you'll see,that here's the css for the this is the,actual page with right so that's the,left to the right,section block this is the header text so,i just put in more products by i could,have made this so that it was in the,back end of uh,the,um,customize your dashboard but i didn't,like putting the schema in there and,messing around with the rest of it so i,just put products by more products by,and then if you look at this i just,threw a little quick color red in here,just for some styling and then i linked,i

today i'm going to teach you how to make,a hoverable drop down menu,in the venture theme on shopify so here,i just have a completely new venture,theme file on a shopify test store,and you can see the current behavior,when i mouse over the catalog,nothing happens what we want to happen,is when we mouse over this catalog this,animation should trigger and this drop,down menu should come down,and then also we can make it so when we,mouse over these menu items the sub menu,will appear as well,i think coverable menus are a nice,feature to have on a website they make,it look a little bit more crisp,and,in my experience they tend to improve,curt conversion rates slightly,so,to do this what we're going to do is,we're going to go into our online store,and we want to edit the code,so to do that we click on this online,store go over to actions here click edit,code,now it'll load and uh the file that we,want to be working with is this,theme.scss.liquid,and uh if that's not already open for,you sometimes it would be,but if it's not you can just go down to,this assets folder here,click on assets click on,theme.scss.liquid right,then it'll open what we want to do is we,want to go all the way down to the,bottom here,and so once you've scrolled all the way,down to the bottom here what you want to,do is you want to leave a comment uh,letting you know that basically this,code is added and that way if anything,breaks on your site ever,you know the code you've added and you,know that the code that you've added is,probably what's interacting with,something breaking,um whatever on your site and you can,tweak the code you've added versus going,all the way through all of this code,that shopify has,so uh,something like main drop down here like,i already have listed is fine um to to,leave a comment you just,as you can see you just,use,slash and then asterisk and then type,whatever and then to end the comment,you're gonna go asterisk,um,but yeah so so go ahead and just leave a,comment like main drop down here um,and then i already have this in i have,this,code,snippet i'm gonna,put it up in the video right now but,it's also gonna be,in the description of the video and that,way you can copy paste it,so i'm gonna remove this comment,commenting out and that's basically,going to activate this code snippet and,so what this is doing is it's targeting,us the site header class,which ends up being,this uh top bar here,and then it's targeting the site nav,item which is an individual,title on one of these like this catalog,or this home,and then it's saying when you hover the,mouse over that,target this mega nav and then do all,this stuff to it,and this is a mega nav is this class and,that refers to basically the this,element that pops down,so,what uh,the stuff that it's doing is it's,basically turning the opacity and the,visibility attributes to,one invisible which is basically going,to just make it so you can see it,and the element will pop up right and,then it's transforming the elem
