all right hey everybody welcome back,in this video i'll be showing you guys,how to set up a project with,an express or node backend and a react,front end and we'll basically be setting,up an express backend api and display,the data from the backend api,onto the front end using react so what,i've done here is i've opened vs code,inside of this folder called express,react project and what i'm going to do,is create two folders called,client and server so i'm just going to,press this new folder icon and one of,these will be called,client and the other one will be called,server,this client directory will contain our,react code and this server directory,will be where we write all of our,express inside of,so this back end is the server folder,and the client,is our front end next we can move on to,setting up our project files so i'm,going to first set up our,files in the server so i'm just going to,cd into the server directory,and then run npm init hyphen y to answer,yes to all the questions,and to generate a package.json file that,you see right here,and then here i'm going to change my,server's file name to server.js,if you want to keep it at index you can,but i just prefer the name server.js so,i'm going to,rename it to server.js and i'm also,going to,create a server.js file so,touchserver.js,and i'm also going to install express so,i'm going to do i,express okay,and then i'm going to install nodemon so,that if we make any changes without,within our server file it'll,automatically restart the server,so i'm just going to do npm i nodemon,and then i'm gonna do,hyphen capital d2 basically,note that it's a dev dependency so,it's going to install nodemon,and then in our scripts i'm going to,create a,script to start up our server so start,is going to be,node server and then i'm going to put,dev for nodemon server and you'll,understand this once we start up our,server file,okay and so right now we've installed,express and node mount and this is all,we need for right now,we'll install packages later on if we,need them so,now that we have our server,configuration done we can move on to the,client configuration,so i'm just going to cd out of this,directory and then cd into client,and then here what i'm going to do is,just create a react project so i'll just,do npx,create react app and i'm going to do dot,to create it in the client directory,and this process will take a while so,i'll cut back to the video once the,react,project has been created all right so,now that our client,project has been created i'm just going,to go on into this client directory,source and then i'm just going to remove,all the boilerplate code,so i'm just going to remove everything,in app.css,okay and then i'm going to remove,everything in app.js and i'm just going,to replace it with,a normal functional component so i'm,just going to do rfce,so that we get a functional component,like this,and now that we have this setup we can,start,setting up the backend api in our,server.js file,so we're

hey guys welcome back to my channel so i,was thinking about planning,and doing a bit of a strategy session,around my youtube videos and i thought,why not film it because i think you,could help a lot of people who are just,starting out or kind of like trying to,grow their youtube account and they just,need some ideas and inspiration so i,came out with a bit of a youtube planner,and it's free to download i will leave,it in the link below,but i am going to go through it with you,it's going to cover kind of my goals for,the year,my content ideas my content pillars and,then kind of like a weekly and monthly,schedule and how i'm gonna break it all,down so i thought i would share that,with you,um and hopefully you find it useful okay,so i've uploaded it to my ipad so that,we can go through it together,i'm using the app called goodnight so,i've just uploaded it into there,you can print it out you can do whatever,you want with it so,it's very easy to use okay so i'm going,to start off with my yearly goals now i,think i'm just going to do january in,february,um,january we're kind of like midway,through the month so i'm actually just,going to go straight into february,so i think a goal for me by the end of,february is to hit,2 000 subscribers,um,and hit probably,4 000 watch hours,i'm currently i think it's like 2,300 if i'm not wrong last time i checked,um,and to be monetized i think you need 4,000 watch hours and 1 000 subscribers so,that is my goal,to hit 4 000 watch hours by the end of,february and then also,i think i want to start uploading maybe,two times a week right now i'm,kind of doing one once per week i'm,obviously really new to youtube i've,only got about i think four videos up at,the moment so it's all new to me but i,do want to get really consistent with it,um this year,so i'm gonna say upload,one to two times per week,okay i think those are pretty good goals,for now,um,yeah so i'm gonna leave it at that i,think there's a reasonable goals and,then obviously next month or the end of,this month i can go in and kind of make,us for the for the other months of the,year,so the next page we have content ideas,and i've laid this out with content,pillar and then the ideas underneath so,content pillars are kind of considered,like the niche you want to go down like,a subject,um and for me as i said i'm starting out,on youtube so,i kind of want to go a bit broad and try,a few different niches out and see which,one sticks or see which one i enjoy the,most so i think obviously the first one,i want to do is design,so whether that is like design tutorials,or just like talking about me as a,designer,um,i'm actually going to fill out all of,the content fillers first,so the next content pillar i think is,lifestyle,i've done like a vlog um,on my channel i think it was the first,video i did and i really enjoyed doing,those so i think vlogs where you kind of,get to know me a little bit better and,see it glimpse into my life are quite,fun to make so i want to do tha
