How To Create Color Swatches for Product Variants in Shopify (Dawn Theme)

bonjour in this video we're going to,learn how to create color switches like,this for our shopify product page you,want to learn how to do that,well you gotta stay tuned for that,before i begin this video i just want to,mention that we'll be using the shopify,theme called done in this video so what,that means what i'm trying to say is if,you're using a different shopify theme,or if you have a different shopify theme,then this video is probably not for you,because not all themes not all shopify,themes are written the same way they,will have a different template file,section files and so on so if you want,to do what i'm doing in this video what,i'm going to do in this video then,you're probably not going to be able to,follow along because you're using a,different shopify theme so make sure if,you want to do what i'm doing in here in,this video make sure that you're going,to use done as well so we're going to,divide this video into two sections or,two parts the first is setting up the,meta fields and then the second is using,liquid to access the meta field so,obviously we're going to code but don't,worry this is honestly really really,easy in fact we can do the switches the,color switches in just 10 lines of code,how cool is that so without further ado,let's open our shopify steam shopify,steam so without further ado let's open,our shopify store and start working so,i'm right over here in my development,store so the first thing that we're,going to do is to create the meta fields,so let's access the settings page let's,open the meta fields page and here we're,going to create one definition for the,variance so select the variance,and then we're going to create a new,definition so click add definition,and then for the name you can just call,it something like color,hex or just color it doesn't really,matter you can just select color and,then for the namespace and key,you can just change the my fields from,my fields to something like,color and then instead of color change,it to value so it's going to be variant,that meta fills that color that value if,you want to access the value of this,meta field and for the description you,can just leave it empty if you want i'll,just leave it empty and then for the,content type we're going to select color,so make sure that you use a like color,okay select color and then hit save,and we should have the following,definition or meta fields so the next,thing that we're going to do is to,create the values for our variants so,let's open the products page in a new,tab let me just open that and then i'm,going to select one product say for,example i'll select the sports watch,this one so you can just select any,product you want as long as there are,variants so here if we scroll down i,have the following variants so i have,blue gold purple and then black now keep,in mind the option is color so if you,have like say for example there are,there are cases that you have multiple,options not just color but also you have,sizes i don'

How To Update Shopify Theme Without Losing Customization

hey how's it going there the solutions,so today we have a client who you know,just having some issues they have a lot,of uh you know issues with their theme,you know where you know obviously a,loose load times and it's due to the,fact that they installed a lot of apps,previously and apps tenderly if you know,hold code behind its very own optimized,apps don't really care you know these,app companies don't care about your,store and how they install their app and,uninstall it you know they care about,you know getting that monthly payment,and also you know they want to install,everything globally they don't kind of,you know separate things so what we're,doing is I'm going to show you how to,you know handle that that exact issue we,optimized the store still not really,happy so I went back to the client and,said hey you know on I think we should,probably install a fresh copier theme,that way,you know only the apps are in actually,need and actually are using will be,installed on this theme it will also,remove that coat all those old codes,that were left behind now why do you,don't know but the proper way to,actually remove apps is to go into the,app and disable the settings wait a,little while because typically some apps,they have this they have what we call,cron job now runs in the background goes,through you know stores that are,disabled and more typically you know a,large majority of apps of ethics that,I've used in with this experience go and,remove the code that that's left behind,and then after once that's completed you,can actually go and delete the app most,of you don't do that you just go,straight up and delete the app don't,really blame you because no one told you,now I did so I'm gonna show you how to,install a fresh copy of the theme so I'm,gonna go in and delete this theme right,here and show you the steps of them and,then I took so does this particular,client is using district so what we're,gonna do is we're going to go down here,we're gonna go to shop by theme store,I'm gonna search up district and because,they paid for it we can actually go and,install the latest version so we're,gonna do that kind of looked at do its,thing,all right Wow Shopify you're actually,fast for once,all right so now we got having close out,of this window now we have the that we,have district so I'm gonna rename this,while it's doing this whole thing and,we're just saying this fresh copy so now,there's nothing here right there's,nothing no settings of MA no,customizations nothing nada zilch right,now a lot of people don't know this but,you know I've seen numerous people going,and have to redesign their store you,don't have to do that I really don't you,can go here we can edit the code you can,see I did a lot of different things here,so we're gonna go here and all the way,down to config settings data now mind,you this won't always copy everything,over but it's gonna save you a lot of,time time is everything so it's gonna go,here,copy the code I'm gonna go back her

Easy Shopify Metafields Tutorial NO CODING!

wish your shopify product pages included,a place to enter information like size,brand name materials and more,in this video i'm going to show you how,to do just that no coding no need to,hire developer this is going to save you,so much time and money before we get,into the video if you like videos about,winning products drop shipping shopify,themes apps and tutorials do us a favor,and hit that subscribe button and turn,notifications on now let's get into the,video,when shopify launched online store 2.0,one of the updates were meta fields meta,fields will allow someone who has a,clothing store for example to include,what type of material the product is,made of or if you sell any type of food,you could include an ingredients list,for someone who sells tech you could,include the brand name the possibilities,are literally endless because you can,completely customize these for your,specific store and needs,in order for this to work you do need to,be using a 2.0 theme i'm using shopify's,free theme dawn,first go to settings,then go to meta fields,now click on products,and then add definition,now what i want you to do is click,select content type,shopify has already created a few,pre-made options for you we have color,number measurement rating etc let's,start with measurement,you can see you can go by weight volume,or dimension i'm going to go with,dimension because i want to display my,products height width and length,now enter your name i'm going to call,this one height,and then click save,now i'm going to create another one the,exact same way so select content type,measurement,dimension,and i'm going to call this one with,and save,i've repeated the same process for,length and now i have all three,now if we go to products and select one,of our products we can see at the bottom,here that we now have the size,information that we can fill in for each,of our products,so let's go ahead and fill it in,now if you were to view this product you,will see that the information doesn't,appear yet we are going to get to that,but first let's go back because i want,to show you how to create your own,custom meta fields first,for this example say you want to include,the material list for our products,click select content type,text and let's go multi-line so that we,have lots of room to type out the,materials,for the name i'm going to type in,materials,and click save,now let's go to our products and click,on our product,scroll down to the bottom,and there we go,so let's go ahead and enter a list of,our materials,okay now that we are finished with our,meta fields now we need to make it show,up in our theme,to do this go to online store,and then click customize on your 2.0,theme,at the top you will see a drop down menu,click to reveal the options,then click products,default product,this is going to allow us to edit the,product page template for all of our,products under the product information,tab click add block,then click text,now click this icon here insert dynamic,sou

so i know i'm gonna get a lot of new,viewers uh let me introduce myself i'm,bagel i do a lot of guilty good drive,and uh out in ring content i i'm trying,to balance the two more but i'm in a,guilty gear uh i'm in an out in revise,right now so with a new character,dropping we're in a guilty gear stride,of weekend because i love pumping out a,lot of videos for some shameless views,because i know people are like for,uh reaction videos to the theme songs,and it makes sense those theme songs are,some of the best songs uh the gaming,industry has to offer so with that being,said let's go straight,into this i am out of breath because i,was getting ready for my mom's birthday,but i'm going to pump out this video,really quick,i'm already happy because this is like a,more rock focused or a thrashy focused,oh,you know it's pretty common with,goodyear's drive songs um they have,those little breakdowns but this one i,like a lot because it goes into like a,kind of a shuffle,oh,all right so right off the bat the first,verse is giving me kind of a happy chaos,this thing uh that kind of feeling um,the very kind of um,untraditional i guess there's something,about the vocals that kind of throws you,off and i'm pretty sure it says,something about the character if i know,anything about,songs there's something uh there's,something with it,um what else,uh there was something else i had to say,that oh it also reminded me of zato's,because you know zaytov's in the first,verse it kind of has that kind of weird,uh going on where there's the uh,there's like a full-on rock song going,on with some like walt sinatra-like,vocals going over it which is really,interesting i'm not saying this as a bad,thing just you know i love that type of, i'm a sucker for it,but yeah i just had to point it out,she,oh let's go this court slaps,i'm getting goosebumps,god damn that guitar,wait that's sick um i don't know if you,can really see it but my eyes kind of,teared up from that course that was,actually a badass chorus um there's,something interesting about the lyrics,is it referring to it as like she he is,it a non-binary character that's that's,my assumptions uh i i can't really hear,the vocal i don't think anybody can make,out the vocals very well uh when the,song first dropped so that's what i made,out from i heard them referencing she,and him,so i'm referring i'm guessing it's,referring to the same person because,it's their theme,oh there's something else i had to say,about the course that i liked a lot it,was going like like a weed naturally as,a matter of course that's such an,interesting title um the chorus had like,such a um it was like i don't know to,say it kept the tempo of like that,you know the temple that the verse kind,of has with the badass palm you'd,alternate picking but then the the,vocals and the instruments kind of had,that upbeat tune to it and i think that,worked out really good it was a very,upbeat tune that was going fast because,usually with the up deep upbeat tunes

How to Backup and Update Shopify Themes Tutorial

hey guys this is Carrie with core,marketing grouped today's tutorial is,all things updating themes backing up,themes so the first part of this is,going to how do you make a copy of a,theme say if you wanted to make some,changes or some updates but didn't want,to have it impact the current thing that,you have live so here we are on our,dashboard on your Shopify site so we are,going to go on navigating store and so,then you'll see where you have your live,theme here so then we're going to go,here you'll just hit the drop down and,you're gonna see an option that says,duplicate so I'm gonna hit duplicate and,it's gonna go ahead and duplicate a copy,of your theme so I'm just gonna let it,run its process here real quick,shouldn't take too long and what I like,to do once it's done duplicating I like,to rename it so I have an idea if it's,like a specific change that you did an,app integration I like to give put that,in the name or even just updating the,date so you could go over here and,rename and I would say like turbo copy,and then I would put today's date which,is like six twenty nine twenty twenty so,I know when what this is and when it was,actually duplicated so then you could go,over here and what this did is it,actually copied your theme exactly how,it is so it copied everything and,duplicated it over here so if you were,to go over here and customize it you're,going to see everything just the way it,is on your life theme so what you would,do is you go in and make your changes,and then when you're ready to publish it,all you would need to do is hit the,drop-down and publish it and then that,is going to publish it to your live,theme and you just hit publish,so that is how to make a copy or,duplicate your live scene now I'm going,to show you two different ways on how to,make updates so a lot of these themes,are constantly being improved by their,developers so every now and then you'll,get a notification if you purchased a,theme depending on who you purchased it,from that there are updates maybe to fix,some bugs or add new features things,like that so there's two different,methods that you can do this bait,depending on the type of theme that you,purchased now first I'm going to show,you if you just purchased a theme from,the Shopify theme store how we would go,ahead and get the latest version of that,so I'm going to switch over here this is,one of my clients and they are rust we,purchased this theme called Testament so,what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go back,over here we're gonna go to the Shopify,theme store okay and I'm gonna find the,Testament theme okay so here it is and,so what I'm gonna have to have to do is,I'm gonna have to go back over and grab,the URL for my shop and then you're,gonna go back here and you're gonna log,in with this URL and so what this is,gonna do is it's gonna recognize if you,purchased any themes through the theme,store so now you're gonna see here that,this button has actually updated so it,is recognized that this shop has

[Taste Theme - Shopify] How To Show Selected Variant Images in Product Page

hi guys welcome back to another Shopify tutorial I'm your host Bilal Naseer with another tutorial ,video and in today's video we are learning how to customize the Shopify Taste theme product page so ,in this Shopify taste team when we have lots of featured uh images a lot of variant images ,when we have multiple variant images the issue is that it shows up all the images at once and ,it does not filter out when you click on the specific variant so after implementing ,this tutorial your product page will look like this so after clicking on any of the variants ,it will only show that specific variant image so that's what we are learning in this tutorial if ,you are interested to learn stick to the end of the video do not forget to like the video ,subscribe my channel and comment on the video below let's jump into the tutorial,so, guys, that's how the original taste theme product page looks like so when we refresh ,as you can see we have all of the images showing up, and when we click on any of the variants ,it just sorts the image and shows up the one on the main featured image but it doesn't hide ,the other color which we have shown up so the pages kind of look messy and show all ,of the images after implementing this tutorial you'll be able to see specific variant images ,okay now let's go to the back end and add in a new product so I can show you guys ,let's go to the backend by navigating to slash admin,and then click on products,and then add product,we will be adding our product by the name of a new t-shirt,and add in images so I already have downloaded some of the images ,where we have black images three images for black three images for white and three images for red,okay so the images are being uploaded let's add in the pricing,scroll down so this is the option which we need to check mark to add in the variations ,so we will add the color variations we have black white and red,co we have added our options okay after adding them click on done here and our ,variations have been added now after up after the images are being uploaded ,you need to add in the alt tags for each of the images so click on every single image,and once you click on that image add in the alt text for example this image for the black ,variation so just add in black hit save alt text and do the same for all of the images,make sure you don't do any spelling mistakes otherwise, our process won't work and you won't ,be able to see the image sorting up properly so I'm adding all the alt text for the images,okay red save make sure to hit save alt text after adding those,okay last three images left white,white,white and,we have the last one left white,okay our all images have been updated now take a look at the product how it looks like ,make the product active it's safe,okay so that's how our products look like and,okay as you can see,selecting variants is not changing the product images so what we're gonna do we'll ,add so
