hey guys what's up um greg back with,another video this week today we're,gonna be actually working on our shopify,online store we got the vibey lighting,in the back um,it's halloween we're ready we're primed,and ready to go anyways let's get right,into the video,um i want to give a huge shout out,before we start to craig anderson's,channel,um i copied a lot of the steps he used,in his video to create this banner for,the channel and for my shopify store,if you want to give his video a link um,a look i will link it down in the,description,and yeah let's get right into the video,all right so the first thing we're going,to want to do is we're going to want to,hop on our actual online store,and we're going to need some sort of,like picture of our products for this,banner,so,i'm just going to go into my shopify,like rendered images,and i'm going to take these pictures and,if you click just in on your products,tab and then on these images you can,just go scroll over the side here,and then there's going to be this little,download tab if you're using shopify and,fuel,i'm sure this goes for any shopify,product,uh you also could always screenshot it,as well,so yeah just download all the different,ones that you want i'm gonna do four,different ones,and then i'll be right back with you,all right so i'm i've got all the four,different images that i want and i,pulled it up in uh adobe illustrator,um if you have the pro version of canvas,i mean canva,you can also use their like auto,background removal thing,uh i don't have that um yeah if you have,the pro version of canva you can use,that and then you can have it auto,removed the background but i don't have,that so what i did is i just went into,adobe illustrator and used a clipping,mask,i'll release one of these just to show,you i already did them all already but,what i have here is i have this like,main background we just need to get rid,of this background so we can put it on,our banner,the white background that is,and then here's like the,kind of clipping mask i traced around it,shift click both of them,make clipping mask,oh just like this one again,boom,and then that background's all gone so,you're just going to want to trace over,whatever product you want to feature in,your banner on shopify,and once you have them all cut out,um i think four is pretty good for like,a banner,um once you have all those banners cut,out then we can go into canva and start,setting up the actual banner,all right you guys um i forgot to,mention uh this is in post but,um once you have your image or your like,little cutout done you're gonna wanna go,to save,as so you go to file,and then you go to save as,and you're going to want to save it as,an svg file,all right so i have canva opened up in,here you want to go to custom size,like from what i've seen shopify banners,are best rendered out in the 2000 width,to 1000 point,uh height kind of dimensions,so we're going to do that the next thing,we're going to want to do is go to a,website

there's no way we can launch our,print-on-demand site,if we don't build it so pull yourself up,a chair and let's get started the first,thing that most folks think about,when building a site is the theme that,look and feel now i can't tell you how,many business owners,i've worked with over the years that,literally thought that's all there was,to building a site,you show them a theme and they're like,all right we're almost done,slow down just a little bit on most,existing stores,that's pretty short-sighted but in our,case with a brand new store,that is a big portion of the work that,goes into launching this thing,so although it's not everything it is an,important step,and let me go through my thoughts on,what i was looking for to set the stage,for our theme selection,the first thing we had to consider when,choosing a theme was that we don't have,a lot of product or categories and that,means,we need to limit our options to fairly,simple themes,it's going to be awkward to choose a,theme with a lot of navigation,only to have a couple of categories to,fill it the second thing i wanted,was a small header the top of the screen,is prime real estate on our site,and we obviously don't need it for,navigation so i don't want to choose a,theme that just has a lot of useless,open,space a lot like bigcommerce's default,cornerstone theme,i mean look at that header i have no,idea,why this thing is so large i really want,to focus on,simplicity no fancy animations or design,aspects,i want it to be all about finding and,buying the products as quickly as,possible so no fluff,i also want the design to be centered,around search,a lot of people especially on mobile you,search as their primary navigation,so the search bar should always be,visible if you have the available real,estate to do so,i'm not asking for a lot here so this,should be achievable with an,off-the-shelf theme famous last words i,know,i've limited my search to the big,commerce theme marketplace,there are other places to get themes but,i'm going to start here and if we don't,find what we're looking for,maybe we can expand the search as we go,there are some good themes in the,marketplace ranging from free to a few,hundred dollars,but it's not an extremely large,selection of options,if my account was correct there's 166,themes currently available,but that's a bit misleading because in,their theme listings for bigcommerce,marketplace,you can have four variations of each,theme,listed as its own unique theme and theme,vendors are most,definitely using those four options to,their advantage because there are four,variations of just about every single,theme in there,now i didn't want to guess so i,literally manually counted every single,one of them,and the results are in there's actually,only 45,theme options in the big commerce theme,marketplace,from a merchant perspective which i am,now,that's not a lot of choice but,realistically i don't need a thousand,theme options,i can only pick one so as long as,there's o

this is a video that shows you how to,create and use channel brands we're,going to show an example company where,channel brands have been used I'm going,to add a new channel brand and then I'm,going to show you how to create an extra,template and assign it to the channel,brand so first of all a little bit of,background in doe sports is a company,that sells kayak equipment and water,sports equipment and they sell in a,number of different channels including,Amazon eBay point-of-sale telephone of,course and then a few online stores,their main site is running on Magento,indo extreme code at UK this is their,main site selling everything from,helmets inflatables clothing nutrition,outdoor equipment and so on and what,they found is that one of their,categories buoyancy aids is actually,worth running a separate store for a,separate microsite so they've launched a,separate website running on Shopify that,just sells lifejackets this means that,they can market specifically to the,lifejacket buyers and get better search,engine ranking divided this is a sales,channel in Brightpearl,under Shopify and sales are starting to,come in let's open up one of these sales,where we can see the channel has been,assigned lifejackets door comm this,order has been fulfilled so we've got a,packing note but when we print this,packing note,it looks pretty boring also the company,name is coming from the default channel,brand because the lifejacket store,doesn't have its own channel brand so,what we need to do is add a new channel,brand for the lifejacket store in bright,pile go to setup and the company,information screen shows us the channel,brands we've already got set up so let's,create a new channel brand called,lifejacket store,they have a dedicated phone number for,the lifejackets door and a dedicated,email address it's the same address as,their main warehouse the lifejacket,store has its own logo we don't need to,worry about filling in bank information,but we do need to add templates and for,now this channel brand is going to use,all of our standard templates so the,sales quote we probably won't use for,this sales channel but that's the quote,itself and then there's an email sent to,the customer with the quote attached so,I'll use that the invoice itself and,then the invoice attached email the,sales credit will choose credit note the,purchase order will choose purchase,order so these are all our standard,templates when you update the order in,bright card you can send an email to the,customer and we'll choose the update to,your order template we'll choose the,standard packing note template and we,don't need to worry about these Goods,out no packed email or SMS templates,unless we want to and then save so we've,now got a new channel brand for the,lifejacket store at the bottom of the,list what we need to do is go and assign,that to the channel so let's go channels,lifejacket store settings and then under,brand will choose the lifejacket store,next time we print documentation
