hey guys happiness here welcome back to,my channel and in today's video i am,going to be showing you guys an overview,of narrative shopify theme so this theme,is actually free and it's all available,in your shopify store and basically this,theme is designed for brand and product,storytelling so i am going to be showing,you guys an overview and show you what,the what this theme is all about i know,sometimes it can be really really hard,when you're trying to find the perfect,theme of your stone and sometimes you,might end up not liking a theme so i'm,going to show you um the background of,this theme and go through about every,detail about it so you can save your,time when you download your theme and so,you can know if this theme will be,perfect for your products for your store,and stuff like that so before i move,ahead i just want to show you what these,narrative theme is all about so this,theme is actually built for small,catalogs so if you have a store that,only sells like a single product this,theme will be really really perfect for,you um even if you have like a small,number of products this theme will be,perfect but if you have like so many,products this won't be perfect for you,you're gonna have to use different,things because this theme is,designed for store with single products,and small number of products only and,you also have a feature where you can,add your video so you can tell your,story about your brand uh with a big,full screen video on top of your,homepage and it as i said before this,theme is designed for a visual,storytelling so you can showcase like,different details of your products with,different customization,um with code slides um images and so,many things uh to tell your story and it,has a vertical slideshow not all free,theme on shopify they have a slideshow,feature but this uh theme has a free,slideshow feature so you can display,different products,with different images or you can add,like multiple posts on a slideshow on,your home page and also there is a fixed,navigation so navigation is really,important on your,store so you can create a better,browsing experience for your customers,when they're servicing you different,menus um also they have a wide range of,layout,um on most of the pages and with the,high good resolution of your products,pictures so this is all about the,narrative um,shopify them and it comes in different,presents,for example this one is called earthly,um if we click that there is a warm,theme,i mean it won't present,and there is a light blizzard the cold,preset and,things like that so i'm gonna show you,like couple of presents how they're,looking like i'm gonna start with our,third project so let's go and view the,demo so as i told you before this theme,is perfect for um if you're selling one,product so you can have that really good,space to tell you a story about your,brand like for example this is still,here so this is the so-called stark and,looks like they're selling um,those strollers and as you

all right great so welcome back so now,that we've officially created our very,first product let's continue on with the,walkthrough in Shopify to get us set up,all right so now let's go click home,all right now let's scroll down and take,a look at where we are in the,walkthrough it says we're moving along,nicely so now that we've officially,added a product we must customize our,theme so this will lets us edit the look,and feel of our online store choose a,theme and add your logos colors and,images to reflect your brand so in case,you don't know what a theme is it's,basically the skin of your you know uh,online store the look The aesthetic,so if you've worked with WordPress you,might know what a theme is it's the same,thing in Shopify it is just the physical,skin of your website so themes vary in,terms of color size and so forth so,let's take a look customized theme,and see what we have here,okay so we have the theme of dawn which,has been Auto selected you know by,Shopify,um if we want to take a look at this we,can click view your store here so we can,take a look at what this theme looks,like and as you can see this is what the,theme looks like this is the dawn theme,as you can see it's pretty bland not,much to it of course and there's our,product that we created earlier right,and so this is a very basic theme to get,us started with Shopify,for the sake of having us set up so now,let's go back,so,then let's say I want to edit this theme,what could I do well then I would click,the customize button so let's go ahead,and do that right now,okay so now we are in the Shopify theme,customizer window or section of the,Shopify platform what do you do here,well what you do here is that you get to,edit your site's theme AKA its physical,appearance,not the products not the content but the,actual theme itself so the color scheme,the logos you know the buttons that,appear at the menu,um you know and images that you can add,and videos and you can add and so forth,so that is all here now as I'm scrolling,on the right side of this we can see,that this you know uh,theme editor has been split into two,sites we have the left here the left,panel and then the right one,so what does it mean well what it,basically means is that on the left we,have all of the things that our right,side is showing us so whatever you,manipulate or change on the left will,appear in real time on the right this is,just a preview here on the right of what,our changes would look like on the site,they do not become live AKA not everyone,will be able to see the changes that you,make until you click this very important,save button in the upper right so just,be aware of that but nonetheless let's,keep talking about this,so let's start off with the top left,right so it says Dawn live this,basically means that what we see here on,the right is already currently live so,we can see that that's true because if I,go to see my sample store,what do we see well we see the actual,theme that we see Dawn but of

in today's video i'm just going to be,going over some of the next steps that,i'm taking in building my shopify store,for selling low content books welcome to,my channel my name is caroline and if,you've been following along i have,recently done a couple of videos where,i'm building a shopify store to sell low,content books on just to give a really,quick background on this i,sell low content books on amazon kdp and,last year my account was accidentally,deleted and although i did get it back,it made me think about,having multiple streams of income and,not relying just on one platform just in,case just in case the worst happens,where for whatever reason,i or we cannot sell on amazon kdp,anymore so i've decided to set up a,standalone online store so i'm not going,to have,the,platform of kdp which already has,built-in customers for me to promote my,books to i'm going to be creating my own,shopify store where i'm going to have to,find customers myself but i'm excited,and i'm looking forward to the challenge,so so far i have done videos where i,show,setting up the shopify store and just,doing that back end admin,area setup,and then,my last video was how to connect shopify,to lulu which is the print on demand,supplier that i'm going to be using to,create and ship my low content books,and so now i'm just going to be doing,some customizing i installed my theme in,the last video too i used the debutify,theme just the free version,and so we're just going to go over,what i'm going to be doing to customize,the store,and,what i want it to look like so i have,basically already created a logo and i,just wanted to go for,sort of like a red romantic type of font,type of,theme color branding that sort of thing,in terms of a logo i generally just like,font logos i don't like anything too,complicated and anything that distracts,from,the name of the store i just personally,think you should just have your logo,very clear on what your store's called,so as to not confuse anybody about where,they are and so i've never used this,theme before,so i am sort of just finding my way,as i go and trying to figure out where,everything is,for,all the stuff that i want to,customize so i just head over to the app,which opens up in a new window so the,debutify theme is under the apps,section of shopify and then we can go to,theme library,just noticed there is an update,available so i'm just going to do that,first okay so i've updated the theme so,now i've got the most current version,and i've just clicked on the theme i've,just installed and i'm just going to,start customizing it now there's some,parts of this video i may not talk over,i might just record my screen and you,can watch what i'm doing because,like i say i haven't actually used this,thing before so i'm just going to be,doing a lot of clicking around trying to,figure out where everything is and try,to change the things i want to change,if i do anything and i'm not talking,about it as i'm doing it and you want to,ask me any qu

In today's video, I'm going to show you ,one of my favorite Shopify apps to completely
customize and transform your store in only about ,10 to 15 minutes from scratch so without wasting
time let's jump straight onto my laptop here and ,i'll show you step by step how to build a
beautifully custom shopify store with this ,no code page builder app incredibly important
considering that your store represents your brand ,and your vision and by the way i'll be giving

this video so to build out a custom shopify ,store today the very first thing you want to
do is go on to the shopify app store actual ,first step is to get shopify if you haven't yet
already and if you haven't yet already i'll drop ,a link to an extended free trial down below if
you want to follow along with this video now ,once you have your shopify store go on to the app
store and then this is where we're going to get a ,crucial tool and this app is going to allow us
to build and design a shopify store without all ,the custom coding and it's called gem pages right
here so gem pages they're known as this no code ,page builder on shopify and it's really useful
in building a high converting store without code ,it's essentially a drag and drop builder that
myself and the team have used to design custom ,shopify sales pages and the plan of attack today
is to create a custom one product store simply by ,using the gem pages drag and drop tools right
here i've spent some time before this video ,creating the brand and all the assets like product
renders brand name and whatnot i'm calling it to ,charge because we all need to charge our devices
that's terrible i know i have all the assets to ,go in my folder right here as you can see and so
what we're going to do now is build out our page ,with gem pages using all the files that i've
created here so head on to the dashboard and then ,click create new from here is click more types and
you can see that you're able to create a bunch of ,different pages based on what you want to go for
so a landing page a home page a product page etc ,and so let's just click for example home page so
there's a whole bunch of home page templates here ,there's also a whole bunch of landing pages the
theory here is i'm going to build a one product ,store so i'm going to use a landing page
only and i found the one that i want to use ,and it's bluetooth headphones you can click
preview to preview the template first or ,you can just click start editing so i'm going
to click start editing i'm going to give the ,the page name a name and then click header and
footer i want this off only because we're creating ,a one product store and we don't want a header and
footer at the bottom really quickly though you can ,use a completely blank canvas but if you want to

all right guys so in this video i'm,going to be showing you how you can go,ahead and,customize your debut theme within,shopify so debut theme,is the theme that all shopify stores,start out with,by default when you go ahead and start a,shopify store and if you haven't already,opened your shopify store yet you can,start your 14 day free trial by clicking,the first link in the description,so i figured i'd make this video because,debut theme,is one of the most commonly used themes,because it's the one that all stores,start out with and the view theme,actually looks,really good so right here we can see,that this is what debut theme looks like,when it's first installed with,absolutely nothing filled out,so we can see that we have where our,logo should be,we have a big header right here with,some text we have an image here,we have three images with text below,here we have,a uh empty collection and we have,another,um header type image right here another,wallpaper image,we have some testimonials and we have,three images down here,and then we have the footer so,right now we have a nice little template,but it's blank,so if you're looking to go ahead and,fill out,your um store using debut theme,the first thing you're going to want to,make sure you have is,a few key things so i'm going to bring,up a notepad and just make sure,because before you go ahead and start,the design process you're going to need,a couple things so the first one is,going to be a logo,so i assume you already have a logo at,this point if you're ready to start your,store design but if not,then make sure you get a logo first,because everything else is going to be,based around the logo,and then we're going to have a color,scheme selected,and normally this color scheme is going,to,be derived from colors from your logo,and typically,you're going to use one to two colors,to base your entire store around and,like i said these colors will be derived,from the logo and the next thing we're,going to need,is a couple wallpaper photos,so we can see we're going to need some,photos to go ahead and put back here in,this header,we need some photos to put back here and,this header as well,so if you have any large photos related,to your business,go ahead and upload them to your,computer or,put them all in one folder so we can go,ahead and,use them as backgrounds here and if you,don't you can use,different sites such as pixabay,to find free stock images that you can,go ahead and use,so let's just type in something like,fishing,so if you had a store related to fishing,you could go ahead and just,look for different stock photos here,or maybe you have something related to,yoga,or fitness you can type in a lot,of different niches depending on what,your store is based around,and you can use some of these wallpapers,to go ahead and put back here,now obviously i do think it's better if,you have your own,custom photos but uh you know not,everyone's gonna have that starting out,so if you don't you can go ahead and us
