hello youtube this is sia howe here,so in the last episode we edited our,products by adding a new one called,notebook paper,and we also created a collection called,school supplies,so now how do we get,and if you remember we had to access,this collection by going to our url,collections,so how so now how do we make that,process simpler and make our actual,url page for our school store,a little bit more beautiful,so that is where the theme comes in the,theme is exactly what it sounds like,it's the design theme that your website,is going to have,and currently we have the dawn theme,from shopify downloaded which is the,free one,and shopify is a bunch of free ones that,you can actually search down here,called free themes,dawn is actually the newest one,that they've officially released as a at,the time of this recording since this is,a demo shopify store,all the ones that they're building in,progress are listed here and our current,one as you can see is gone,so if you click on this you can actually,see the built-in features that don has,for example shopify calls it a,minimalist theme that lets product,images take center stage so when,building our store we should make sure,that the images are at their best,it also includes predictive search,advanced product filtering fixed,navigation and product size chart,features,so what i'm thinking is this is going to,be something good for a fashion store,and as you can see it's a image right,here it's for fashion,if you take a look at some of the other,free themes that they have for example,like crafts,but right now let's just roll it on you,can also pay for a theme by visiting the,shopify theme store,and they're also paid ones which you can,purchase for example here california for,240. if you click on it it will give you,a more detailed rundown,especially what is great for you that is,demo store etc,but right now let's just roll with our,free keys,to edit these you can click on actions,or,more popular to actually edit what it,would look like,click customize,and in this theme,you can change a whole bunch of stuff as,once i click down here,you see everything they can change from,the home page to the product pages the,collection pages,collection lists start with the home,page,and,starting with this,announcement the announcement bar is,actually this most top bar up here that,says welcome to our store right now,but for now we can say welcome to our,store,because it's a good way to welcome,customers in,if you click on this right here you can,change the text it's background,and you can even add a link which means,when they click on this bar it will take,them to,and but the good thing about this theme,editor is jump by makes it really easy,to understand,for example this ad announcement most,people will understand what that's going,to mean,and at the very bottom you can also,remove these blocks,so the header this is going to be,all of this white area up here before,this image,and there's a lot of stuff to change,here so,mak

shopify just released three new free,themes and they're really really good,and i want to talk about them if we,haven't met before i am shelley of,launch party i'm an e-commerce designer,and creator of shop school,hi these new free themes use shopify's,online store 2.0 which is their updated,and upgraded online store customizer it,has a lot of new features so if you,haven't checked out shopify in a while,you definitely want to see what's next,so let's take a tour of the themes,so here are the new themes sense craft,and crave dawn was released last summer,and i'm at the shopify theme store at,themes.shopify.com to see these themes,and i can easily just add any of them to,my shopify store right from here,so these themes all seem to have the,same functionalities and features it's,really just the starting off point,design wise so whichever feels the most,similar to your brand for instance if,you're looking for something more modern,then sense or dawn would be a good,starting point if you're looking for,something a little bit more handmade,feeling then craft is a great starting,point,and crave is geared towards restaurants,but any of them can be fit towards any,type of brand because all of your colors,and fonts and products and everything,will be able to be changed,so let's try out scents and see what,that's going to look like,so clicking sense and i'm going to click,try theme,and it's adding it to our store,and we can see sense being added to our,theme library,and now it's added so let's go to the,customizer,so i'm going to click customize,so this is what it looks like right out,of the box we have these kind of fun,yellow orange gradients happening,featured collection talk about your,brand so all of these different sections,are just our starting off point and we,don't have to keep any of them,so we can go and see everything that we,can change,over in theme settings,so we have all of these different color,options and i love that these gradients,are built in here now and you can select,your own gradient or adjust colors,or add new colors that's really a cool,feature now,and there's just a lot more choices with,these new online store 2.0 themes that,we can customize versus the old shopify,themes,so it's really exciting,and now just for fun i'm going to,customize sense creating a fictitious,store so you can see just how easy it is,to create your own unique store using,shopify's themes as a starting off point,and watch it come together super fast,so here's a time lapse so i'm condensing,about 20 minutes worth of work into a,minute and a half so you can see,everything come together,and i'm starting with the theme settings,which are the colors and the fonts so,i'm trying some different options here,and i put in a new logo and configured,the header a little bit differently,and then next working my way through the,actual sections on the home page so i,just styled out the image with text,section and then adding in some other,sections so i added in an image bann

color block or dawn,which free shopify theme should you be,using in your store let's find out,yo what's up everybody and welcome back,to the channel if you're brand new here,i want to welcome you and say hi my,name's carrie i'm the founder of shirt,school and i created this channel to,bring you the best strategy secrets and,hacks to grow your online t-shirt,apparel or print-on-demand business,you're probably already aware that,shopify has transitioned fully over to,online store 2.0 which was a complete,overhaul of the shopify system they,released brand new themes and also,recently they released shopify editions,which was this huge collection of new,features which i want to talk about more,on the channel but when they initially,transition over to online store 2.0 they,put out a few free themes new free,themes i've talked about those on the,channel and i've told you that one of my,favorite themes is called dawn,which i've been using in my stores and,i've been recommending to most of my,students to use that dawn theme well a,little while after that they came out,with a few more free themes and one of,those is called color block so i've been,eager to review this theme on the,channel and kind of put it up against,the dawn theme because,according to shopify they say color,block is a good one to choose for,apparel brands and as you know i like to,talk about apparel brands it's what i've,built in my own businesses and what i,help my students with so today i want to,talk about color block is it better than,dawn is this the one you should be using,if you have an apparel or a t-shirt or a,print-on-demand business so that's what,we're going to dive into today so,looking at the free shopify themes page,what what themes they have right now you,see studio dawn which i've talked about,a lot sense refresh,taste crave color block which we're also,going to talk about today,ride and then craft so as i mentioned a,few of these came out initially and then,they added more and most of these are uh,they're positioned for certain,categories so if you have a beauty brand,you know you might want to go with the,one that's really designed for beauty,like sense this one you know you see,hardware and automotive health and,beauty pet supplies so these themes are,designed for certain types of stores to,be better for each of those so the two,that we really focus on in clothing are,dawn and then this color block theme so,i want to break those down so let's,start with the color block theme as we,go just to their uh page here that kind,of shows us what color block is all,about and explains it,you see some of the main features right,here confident and colorful design so,it's very colorful ideal for a large,catalog so it's got this kind of menu,system and it says it has expanded menu,navigation so if you have a lot of,products if you have maybe a big apparel,store this might be a good one to go,with and then you see advanced,customization options so that's flexible,design customization

what's up everyone edwin anthony here,again back at it with another video and,in this video we're going to learn about,out of the sandboxes flex theme,so if you guys are brand new to my,channel what i do every so often is that,i talk about theme setups everything,related to shopify so if you like this,type of content please make sure that,you go into the subscribe demolish that,subscription and also don't forget to,turn on that notification bell so that,you'll be one of the first ones to know,when we come out with these videos,so again uh going over this what are we,talking about we're going to help you,guys install,flex and we're going to follow a,specific theme before this let's talk,about the company here real quick just a,quick introduction so the folks at out,of the sandbox are one of the first,pioneers of building themes for shopify,right and the theme that we're going to,talk about is one of their most highly,and probably one of the most expensive,themes that they have out of everything,if you guys check out my channel um i,also have one that talks about turbo so,make sure that you guys watch that uh so,if you guys you know want to make sure,that you like the style on how i teach,and all that stuff go go ahead and check,out that video first if you want to and,if you're already used to my style we're,just going to dive right into it so out,of the sandbox one of the top theme,developers they've created this theme,called flex and of course if you're,interested in getting started on this,i'll leave a link down at the,description so you guys could go ahead,and purchase a theme and then just,follow along but let's look at this as,towards what it has to offer so as of,today october 26th,we noticed that flex is now part of,store 2.0 so they just recently updated,their theme and it's called flex 3.0,that offers shopify's operating system,2.0 which is very good it's like really,really good i love store 2.0 because,they just have everything and they load,pretty quickly and so far so good based,on the experience,uh so reason why flex because flex has a,very nice interface that it allows your,store to look more than one way,you don't have to go very heavily on,investing with developers etc and you,could switch up your store to look many,different ways that's why flex,is a very good investment,and take a look at all these styles,you'll see all of these demos look there,is a lot of demos and as you can see,some of them kind of look the same but,you could see the difference as to how,your website could look like right not,just one way so we have like the menu,horizontal system and then we have this,other way where it has this vertical,interface which is nice,so if you're planning on having multiple,businesses or if you really need a theme,that's just very very flexible when it,comes to the type of niche take a look,at flex flex is definitely a very good,investment from a very powerful theme,development company which is out of the,sandbox,the one that we'r

Shopify has released even more brand new,free themes for your Shopify store that,you can use right now today I want to,look specifically at one of them that I,think is really great for online apparel,stores that's coming up,what's up everybody let's Dive Right In,Shopify is released Shopify online store,2.0 that's been out for a while and with,that they released some new themes and,they've actually added more themes,recently to the free themed section in,the Shopify theme store and these are,the free themes that they have available,you see Don which comes pre-loaded on,every Shopify store we have refresh,craft sense ride taste Studio crave and,then color block now they initially came,out with a few of these and they just,recently added more and so today I,specifically want to talk to you about,this color block theme now to start this,off if you are out there maybe you're a,beginner and you're thinking do I need a,paid theme my answer would be probably,not in most cases you don't need a paid,theme to get started and the Shopify,free themes are actually really really,good uh even for building your business,up to you know very high Revenue amount,you can use these free themes that's,what I've done I've always used a free,Shopify theme on my stores I've always,had really good luck and I haven't run,into a lot of issues now if you're,needing something super custom you're,needing something that has certain,features you might want to go with a,paid theme but I think most everybody's,starting out building your first store,wanting to get your first few sales you,should start with a free theme and,they're going to be more than enough,more than what's needed even on these,free themes so today I want to take a,look at this color block theme I've,talked a lot about Dawn and what it,offers and why it's pretty good for,apparel stores but recently since,they've released this color block theme,I've been starting to use color block,more and more and I think I like it a,little bit better than Dawn for apparel,stores let's start off by just looking,at some of the features so this is color,Block in the theme store again this is,completely free and it says a striking,theme ideal for high-end fashion here's,what's funny about that I feel like this,color block theme feels kind of like the,old school Shopify themes to me it feels,simpler than the dawn theme and I think,that's why I like it more and so when,they say it's ideal for high-end fashion,it actually doesn't feel as high-end,fashiony as the dawn theme to me some of,the features you see here quick menu,Mega menu sticky header and then we can,see all the features down as we scroll,down and what I like about the Shopify,theme store they've made some updates in,here they've actually added a lot more,information right here on the front it,was very actually very minimal they,weren't telling you a lot about the,theme but they've added some more,specifics here so you see this this,theme is great for editorial content,lon

if you weren't already convinced that,shopify is one of the best companies in,the world then after today hopefully,you'll be a little more convinced so in,today's video what we're gonna do is go,through all of the new shopify updated,themes that they just dropped so this is,literally brand new stuff they just,released three new themes that you can,use and the great thing about these,themes is not only how customizable they,are but the fact that they are free so,you can literally download these themes,on your ecommerce store today and not,pay a single penny so i got the themes,pulled up right here so that we don't,have to waste any time now you may have,seen in a previous video of mine from a,few months ago actually when they first,released this new theme right here,called don now don is a theme that i,still use on a couple of my stores i,even use it for the art branch of my,company netsphere and it's extremely,clean extremely fast and pretty,customizable so let me show you real,quick what it actually looks like on a,store as you can see it's very very,simple very clean and you can use tabs,here so you don't have to download any,website building apps or anything you,can just create everything through the,theme i also want to take this,opportunity to say that we officially,released the netsphere membership it's,less than a dollar a day and by signing,up you'll be getting our full e-commerce,course for free and be able to join our,private live streams you can also access,all the past live streams because we've,been recording all of them in one of,them for example i actually brought in,one of my friends and interviewed her on,how she did over a million dollars with,her store in only two months which is,pretty insane so you can check that out,in the description but the don theme was,the first theme that they released as a,part of their os 2.0 update now if,you're just a regular shopify store,owner or like a drop shipper then that,doesn't really mean a lot to you but if,you're a developer or some sort of,programmer then this is really important,to know the os 2.0 apparently is a big,upgrade to their theme architecture it,separates each app extension into app,blocks which allows you to have more,flexible content on your store and,that's only one of the upgrades that you,can see with the os 2.0 update but i'm,not going to cover that here because a,lot of you guys aren't developers and i,don't want to bore you to death but yeah,the dawn theme is amazing but these,three new ones are the ones that we're,gonna go through today so the first one,is craft the second one is crave and the,third one is called sense so let's just,go one by one and review each one to see,if they would fit your store and just,out of curiosity so the first one is,called craft now this one is a refined,theme that celebrates craftsmanship,apparently it's great for home and,garden stores really any catalog size,stores and a quick setup with visual,storytelling so this is a home goods,sto
