there are a lot of new and exciting,things coming to the shopify platform,but one thing that i'm very excited,about is the new shopify theme which is,called dawn it has a lot of really cool,functionality in it that really expands,how much you can customize your store so,in this video we are going to go over,all the new things that you can do with,shopify's latest theme so without,further ado let's go ahead and hop into,my computer now,so i'm in my shopify store area now and,i'm in the online store themes area you,can see here i have an existing theme,already but to check out shopify's new,dawn theme you just need to go to this,free themes area click explore free,themes and you'll see all the free,themes that are available and dawn is,right here on the list so let's go ahead,and get this added in now,okay great so now that this is added in,let's go ahead and customize it and i'll,show you some of the new options so i'll,hit customize here,and now you have your home page that you,can design and add in different sections,on the left like you're used to and like,we've shown in other videos again you,can go down here and click on add,section to add another theme section to,this theme so we could just say blog,post,it'll add it in here and we can always,also,drag and drop it around into the order,that we want it to show up so you know,this this has been part of the homepage,editor for a while however the really,cool thing with the dawn theme is that,you can now do this for collection pages,and product pages as well so to get to,those,sections that you can customize you'll,click on this drop down up here,and let's do the collection first so,i'll click collections,and i'm just going to click the default,collection you can also set up different,templates if you wanted to stylize it to,all be different styles for let's say,the gift wrap is one style the,coffee mugs are another style you can go,in and create different templates there,but you can now see we have just our,regular collection page with our,products however now we can add in,additional sections so if we click on,add section,we can then see all of the different,images as well so let's add in a few,let's do an image banner,and then we can add in a email sign up,and let's add another one in,of,blog post as well so now we've got this,set up and we can go into each of these,individual things and actually start,customizing this for the collection page,so really cool functionality that you,can now use to really customize and,bring your branding throughout and this,is the same for the product page as well,so let's click again up here in the,drop-down click on products,and you can just click on the default,product again or if you click on create,template you can go in and create that,template name so let's just name this,gift wrap,and click create template,now you can see whenever we are up here,in this menu that we have our gift wrap,and you can then assign it to different,products as well so let's go i

hey youtube my name is Alicia and I am,going to help you create your own,website from scratch if this is your,first time on my channel you've never,seen any of my videos and you have no,idea who I am,I launched a hair skincare line called,Rose re Beauty not too long ago and,since then I've just been sharing,everything that I've been learning and,hoping that it helps other people start,their own hair and skin care line also I,try to break things down and make it as,easy as possible during a website can be,exciting and overwhelming especially,when a lot of the videos on YouTube that,show you how to make a website are by,professionals so they're using like a,whole bunch of like big and confusing,words that nobody really understands but,I am NOT here to confuse you I'm here to,make this as easy as possible for you so,I am going to be showing you how to,create a website nice and easy okay so,when you first sign up for your trial,this is what the back page looks like so,you have two parts to your website you,have the front page and then you have,the back end in the front page the only,thing that you can do is customize your,home page and these are all the features,that they give you you can move things,around take things out and add things in,and then the back end is where you work,on everything else from uploading your,products to connecting your social media,accounts to all that stuff so everything,looks a little different because we're,using a trial but normally when you,would go to your home page it would show,you you know how many people visited,your website where those visitors came,from and it'll do things like offer you,advice on how to make your website,better and if anybody made purchases,that week it'll also show you how many,how much you made for that week or that,month orders is where you would see all,the orders that people made drafts is,when somebody starts to make an order or,like they put things in their checkout,but then they just leave it behind and,they don't come back to it and it's,really similar to abandoned checkouts,and you actually have the option like,let's say you started let's say you,started an order and you didn't finish,it it'll show you that they started it,it'll show you their email their name,and it'll also give you the option to,email them and remind them that they,have things in their cart that they need,to check out your product page is where,you go to upload all of your items,anything that you add here will,automatically pop up on your home page,and it'll just ask for the name of the,product or description it'll ask you for,your photos the price and it'll also ask,you to weigh the items so that way when,it comes to like shipping you know how,much to charge them or it automatically,charges them a fee based on the weight,and then you also have the option to put,in how many of that product you have if,you're doing an online website like it's,nothing like you don't have a store or,anything and it's just you at home y

hello and welcome to new envato tats,plus video,i'm madi por dilla and today i want to,show you,a very cool shopify theme called roxy,now shopify allows you to very easily,create an online store and,with the right theme you can be up and,running,in no time the theme i'm about to show,you,is multi-purpose so you have a lot of,topics or demos to choose from,so let's have a look at it and see what,it's all about,this is a roxy a responsive,multi-purpose shopify theme that you can,currently get,on themeforest for 19.,it's at a discounted price,at the time of this recording now,roxy has a lot of demos,or a lot of topics to choose from as you,can see here,we're looking at over 60 uh,demos or home pages as they call them,here and,they range from fashion,to electronics to gifts,to pets basically you can find very,unique topics here and the cool thing,about this theme is that,at least four or five new topics are,released,each month and as you can see if we,scroll,all the way down on the theme forest,page,and we look at the change log you'll see,that,on each version we get,new topics and a topic as i was saying,is basically like a demo so for example,if we're going to look at this flowers,demo you'll see that,it looks in a certain way,but if we check out for example the,computers demo,you'll see that it's it has a totally,different,look and feel to it,and that's what i really like about this,it uses the same,platform it's a shopify theme and you,can do,everything shopify related in here but,depending on the topic it has a distinct,look,and feel now i recently purchased the,this theme and i used it to create a,demo,store just to play around with it this,is one of the,uh the demos provided,or at least it's based on the demos,provided,it's a furniture demo and in a very,short time i was able to create,uh this home page add some products,create some collections and it all,went very smoothly and i'll talk more,about the process,in this video now let me quickly give,you a tour,of this demo that i created and also,walk you through some of the main,features of the theme that i,really like now the first thing that i,really like about this theme and pretty,much all of its demos is that,it's a very clean design on all of them,i especially like this furniture one,it really is more of my style,but all the other demos have a very,clean design and also,the theme is responsive so it's going to,look great on,mobile devices but also large desktops,there's also support for a mega menu,which i,quickly created one right here you can,add all sorts of,banners that will take you to different,pages different collections,you can also add links,right here to the different pages and if,we open up a,collection here you'll see that we can,filter the various products using these,uh,tags uh we can sort them we can change,uh the view mode from grid which is this,to list which is this,one of the very nice features is a quick,view option and you can simply press,this to open that product,in

bonjour in this video we're going to,learn how to create color switches like,this for our shopify product page you,want to learn how to do that,well you gotta stay tuned for that,before i begin this video i just want to,mention that we'll be using the shopify,theme called done in this video so what,that means what i'm trying to say is if,you're using a different shopify theme,or if you have a different shopify theme,then this video is probably not for you,because not all themes not all shopify,themes are written the same way they,will have a different template file,section files and so on so if you want,to do what i'm doing in this video what,i'm going to do in this video then,you're probably not going to be able to,follow along because you're using a,different shopify theme so make sure if,you want to do what i'm doing in here in,this video make sure that you're going,to use done as well so we're going to,divide this video into two sections or,two parts the first is setting up the,meta fields and then the second is using,liquid to access the meta field so,obviously we're going to code but don't,worry this is honestly really really,easy in fact we can do the switches the,color switches in just 10 lines of code,how cool is that so without further ado,let's open our shopify steam shopify,steam so without further ado let's open,our shopify store and start working so,i'm right over here in my development,store so the first thing that we're,going to do is to create the meta fields,so let's access the settings page let's,open the meta fields page and here we're,going to create one definition for the,variance so select the variance,and then we're going to create a new,definition so click add definition,and then for the name you can just call,it something like color,hex or just color it doesn't really,matter you can just select color and,then for the namespace and key,you can just change the my fields from,my fields to something like,color and then instead of color change,it to value so it's going to be variant,that meta fills that color that value if,you want to access the value of this,meta field and for the description you,can just leave it empty if you want i'll,just leave it empty and then for the,content type we're going to select color,so make sure that you use a like color,okay select color and then hit save,and we should have the following,definition or meta fields so the next,thing that we're going to do is to,create the values for our variants so,let's open the products page in a new,tab let me just open that and then i'm,going to select one product say for,example i'll select the sports watch,this one so you can just select any,product you want as long as there are,variants so here if we scroll down i,have the following variants so i have,blue gold purple and then black now keep,in mind the option is color so if you,have like say for example there are,there are cases that you have multiple,options not just color but also you have,sizes i don'

want to get into e-commerce and thinking,about drop shipping,before you do you might want to watch,this video,so before we get started i just want to,differentiate between,what drop shipping is and what,e-commerce,is so drop shipping is basically,a method whereby as a,founder or as a business owner you,have your product fulfilled by your,factory,so your product is fulfilled by the,manufacturer it is sent directly from,the manufacturer say you're,manufacturing dog beds,your dog bed will be made by the factory,say it's in china,and they will be sent directly from that,factory,in china to your customer e-commerce uh,and with e-commerce brands with my,brands that are in ecom,i've never actually personally done,dropshipping myself but i speak to a lot,of dropshippers all the time,with ecom you hold your own product,so say the minimum order quantity for,your dog bed brand,is 500 dog beds you will buy,those 500 dog beds off the manufacturer,you can custom brand them they're then,sent,to a warehouse in your country of choice,i'm australia based so let's say they're,sent to,our warehouse in melbourne australia we,then have our 500 dog beds in stock in,melbourne australia,so if a customer in sydney orders one,they can get it the next day,rather than it being sent out from china,uh,having you know chinese branding and,shipping labels all over it,not having that sort of like brand,experience that you're able to create,with ecom,so basically that's the difference,between e-commerce and drop shipping,drop shipping the manufacturer or the,factory sends it out for you,the upside of that is that you don't,have to buy the initial 500 units you,could sell 500 units,and it is sent directly from the,manufacturer and e-commerce you buy,those 500 units,they come to you physically and you,physically send them back out to your,customer yourself,so i guess yeah that's one of the,upsides of drop shipping that is that,you don't have to hold your,own stock one of the downsides and one,of the massive downsides of drop,shipping is,that factories especially factories or,manufacturers that you haven't been to,physically yourself,aren't always the most reliable,companies a lot of dropshippers start,out with the best intentions being like,okay i'll do this i don't have to buy,stock,it's great it's a really cheap easy way,to get into you know the online business,space,and they sell a bunch of products and,those products actually never even turn,up to the customer,and the issue with that as well outside,of obviously it's terrible customer,experience for your brand,there's not going to be any repeat,purchases because they didn't even,receive their product in the first place,the other issue is that this has created,like a really bad reputation,for drop shippers on a lot of the big,marketing channels like facebook so,facebook has a lot of policies now in,place,set up to not allow drop shippers or new,drop shippers to the market,to be able to scale their brands without,knowing,that that

in this video i'm going to show you how,to um add the collection filter to the,impulse,theme it's kind of a pain in the oh you,know what so if you look at this when,you go to any of these collections,right and you have this filter by color,here it has really pretty swatches right,so in order to get these swatches to,show up correctly they have to be named,exactly as,they are,inside of the assets folder so in this,case if you look at this one's called,aquamarine well we ended up creating a,swatch,and uploading it into the assets folder,and how you get here,is you're going to go to your online,store,and then you go to actions and you go to,edit code,and then you are going to,wait for the load wait for it to load,and then we'll expand with this little,box right here and you scroll down,onto your assets section now you don't,uh you have to create these swatches in,photoshop right these are real tiny so,if you go ahead and in this case let's,go ahead and copy this one,and or you could create it in any other,photo program,but they are,50 by 50 pixels so,um i'm just going to show you this other,so in photoshop what i did here is like,you go to new,and i'll make a another swatch and i'll,paste this there's my purple so if i,look at the actual size of this,it's 50 by 50 pixels okay,so i want to call that when i save it,as a png file,it's going to be called,amethyst.png,right so amethyst.png,so now i'm going to go ahead and um say,i didn't create that i just saved it on,my computer go to add new asset i'll,choose my file and then in this case i,have white gold plenty but i'm not going,to upload that so say that was amethyst,it would upload it and it would put it,right here,in the list for me so for every swatch,that you have,make sure they're named correctly and if,this watch has multiple names you're,going to want to make sure there's a,hyphen between it and not an underscore,so if you look in here,it's probably here you go cyan ruby,underscore so that's not going to work,with the underscore,so you have to have a hyphen in there so,this thing's kind of weird this way so,now if we go back,and we look at this,uh website you'll see here are the,swatches and then the swatches are,showing up here right because they're,named accordingly now under these,products,if you look at this product so we have,choose your color,so in this case it's called white gold,plated rose gold plated so i have to,make sure that i have swatches that are,called exactly the same thing,white gold plated rose gold plated so if,i go and i look at my assets folder i,went ahead and created those already so,i have,uh white gold plated notice there's,hyphen hyphen right and then you have,red i think i've got one in here yeah,now so rose gold plug is that one let's,see,so yeah yeah rose gold plated so they,put the tag in here red gold pleated,which is incorrect so this needs to have,a tag,of whatever these colors are here,excuse me,whatever the tag of these colors are,here right white gold pla
