Editing Shopify Site| New Theme SENSE

hey y'all it's ebony i'm back again and,in this video i'm going to show you,me playing around with a new shopify,template you guys i changed my website,maybe,every week okay every week and i figure,why not actually record the process of,me editing my website now this process,did take me about an hour i know exactly,how long it took me it took me an hour,and 10 minutes but i'm gonna go ahead,and speed it up for you guys,and only do a voice over on the,important parts or steps,for anyone who wants to use this as a,tutorial but for the most part this is,going to be sped up and you guys are,going to be listening to some music,um but yes we're going to jump right,into it,so here are the four newest themes on,shopify i selected the one that is named,sense okay y'all it was just too cute,look at it look how cute it is,it was too cute so i went ahead and,added it to my store and allowed it to,install and then once it installed i,went ahead and customized it,all right you guys so i'm under online,store under themes and i had to scroll,down and click on the theme that i want,to customize and hit customize now as,you guys can see this is what it's,looking like so far i really love the,setup but that lime green it just don't,really work,for,it does not really work for my business,what you see i also changed it to mobile,view because i know 90 of my customers,they shop using their mobile phone so,you guys are going to see me switch it,from mobile view and desktop view a lot,but the first thing i want to edit is,going to be this gradient so the pink,that's faded into that lime green color,it wasn't working for me so basically to,change that,um we got to get the toolbar on the side,so you guys see the toolbar on the left,hand side we're going to scroll down to,theme settings and then we're going to,click on colors and we're going to find,that gradient and we're about to change,this okay because it's liquid i mean,it's cute it just don't work for my,brand okay,now,this was brand new to me because i never,ever seen them have a gradient option,where you can change the colors,so what i'm doing is i'm going over to,campbell you guys you know i love canva,canva i have a lot of graphics and stuff,so i'm just copying and pasting the,color code from canva on over to shopify,so that i can switch up the gradient um,really quick i'm just playing around,with colors right here y'all um you,gonna see it took me a while to get the,color i wanted y'all it took me a while,um but i did end up getting the color,that i wanted but basically that's all,you're going to see me do is playing,around with the background colors,playing around with the gradient color,until i get a color that i am satisfied,with,you and i had lots of love just to top,it off,we can run and now for days never let it,stop i just want your everything baby,maybe later we can dance never let go,listen to our favorite songs on the,radio,losing up and lose ourselves to this,feeling oh i just want your everything,bab

Shopify Tutorial: Hiding a Long Description in Collapsible Accordion (on free themes)

hello guys today i'm doing a requested,video but i hope that this is going to,be helpful to a lot of people this is,for anyone that has a really long,product description right and it's,pushing the rest of the page down and,people need to you know really scroll,to kind of see more information about,the product it's even worse if your,description is up above your buttons,and then people don't actually see your,add to cart buttons and your quantity,field and stuff like that right so,you may want to somehow,contain this entire description,inside something like a collapsible row,an accordion a toggle drop down whatever,you want to call this kind of interface,you click it and it opens up your,description but when it's closed it,doesn't take up space,i'll also show you,a couple of different options for,example if you want a little bit of,preview text so if you want like a short,description here right,and then you want a read more,with the rest of your description,um then i'll show you how to do that as,well and i actually think that this is a,much nicer solution than simply this in,case you're wondering no i'm not talking,about just using the collapsible row,blocks because,this is very limited obviously you can't,put like this wasn't intended for a lot,of text and in this all you can do is,like bold and italic i am actually,talking about the main product,description,about this field and wrapping the output,in a collapsible row like this or,actually splitting it so as you can see,this first sentence from here,is the first sentence here,and then the rest of it starts from,lowdom altera,and this is a london altera here so,actually splitting it here in between,these paragraphs so that it outputs in,two different places,showing you how to do all of that oh and,i almost forgot to mention but you are,going to be able to set this classical,description,as uh enabled or disabled on a per,product basis so if some products have,short descriptions and you don't want,the collapsible accordion at all,then this will be false by default,actually,and to turn it on you will have to click,true right and this is using meta fields,so if you're interested,in one of the features of shopify 2.0,which is meta fields and this will also,be a small introduction to using emitter,field,in a real life scenario i'm going to be,using,dawn right you'll be able to follow this,tutorial exactly if you're using dawn or,if you're using any of the free,shopify 2.0,themes right like dawn craft,crave sense all of these they have the,same code they have the same settings,if you're using a different theme from a,different company not from shopify then,i think you're still going to be able to,use this tutorial and kind of apply the,same concepts to another theme it might,be a bit more difficult but,many of these collapsible rows are built,in similar ways and what we're actually,going to be doing in this tutorial is,copying the code,that does these collapsible row blocks,and simply wrapping it aroun

Shopify Theme Review Dawn Online Store 2.0 [2021]

hey class here how's it going in this,video i want to do a review of shopify's,new dawn theme it's the first free theme,that works on shopify's online store 2.0,so and let's dive into it and see how it,looks,okay we're now in my shopify partners,store and as you see there is no dom,theme installed yet so the first thing,that i saw which is news up here is it,gives you a notification on the updates,for themes and this is basically,targeting for the online store 2.0,themes so if you go in here and then a,new window opens,new tab opens it gives you an overview,of what is new in the online store 2.0,themes so you can just go through that,and you see what kind of new features,these themes have and just given get an,overview what,sections and blocks mean,for you when you want to edit your,shopify themes so i would recommend to,read through of that to get an overview,what online store 2.0 actually means and,once you have done that,go back to your theme overview in your,own store and then you can go down and,just scroll down here to three themes,and go into explorer free themes,again a new tab opens and gives you a,overview here and you see here now there,is a difference between the sort of old,theme structure,and the new ones so you have dawn 2.0,here so this is not operating system,that's online store 2.0,and you see that also,there are more and more um,actually should see it um that there are,more because i put it on page so that,there are also paid themes which are,already compliant to,os 2.0 as well so,dawn right now is the only free theme,so we will dive into that in a second,but you can see that there is more and,more stores coming with giving you the,updated theme structure now,up to end of this year or from the first,of january next year,shopify will not accept any updates or,any new themes that are not compliant to,online store 2.0 so you will see more,and more,um stores coming or themes coming in,that are compliant and if you have a,theme and you have your paid theme then,check with your theme developer if they,already have an update or an upgrade,of your theme or ask them when it will,come out so most of the paid themes over,time um within the next weeks i reckon,will offer a os 2.0,version,now if you want to install the free dorm,theme and that's what we're going to,talk about today you just go in here and,try theme so you basically thrive try,stream and i will install it i've done,this already here on this demo store of,my shopify partner account,and it comes up here so,obviously you want to just test it um so,you can work in the preview if you go on,actions on preview,but,just to dive in and see the back end,which was out doing any changes on your,running store,you just go in here and then you have,the preview of what's happening there so,let's move that over here,so the first time that i've opened it so,let's see what we have here so they,obviously have a notification bar this,is up here welcome to our stores you can,also easily go in her

Building a Headless Ecommerce Store with Tailwind CSS, Shopify, and Next.js

hey everyone in this video we're going,to build a simple e-commerce website,with tailwind ui and next.js,we are going to fetch some products from,a shopify store using the storefront,graphql api and we'll create our pages,by assembling components from tailwind,ui to give us a really solid foundation,and starting point,we'll make a few customizations to the,component we use in order to meet our,needs and achieve this final result,i hope you're as excited as i am to dive,into all of this let's do that right now,okay so let's make a very quick tour of,the property and discover our starting,point i have created the shopify store,here with a few products and each,product has a title a description an,image a price tags etc,now shopify comes with its own front end,and theming ecosystem but there is also,a headless solution via the storefront,graphql api and this is what we're going,to use here this video is not going to,be an introduction to graphql and xjs,instead i'll assume that you're already,familiar with these technologies there's,a lot to cover here so i've already,scaffolded a simple little next.js,project and i'll show you what i've done,so far okay so what i've done is a basic,create next app installation and then on,top of this i've installed tailwind css,a few tailwind css plugins that are,needed for the components that we're,going to use as well as other,dependencies like headless ui heroicons,and date functions i have created a,tailwind config file and you can see,that we're using the just in time mode,and we've extended the font family,object to use the intel var fonts and,like i mentioned before if i come down,we're using the three tailwind css,plugins here finally i've already,assembled three tailwind ui components,together a header a footer and a,placeholder component here just to get,us started,all right let's do this we're going to,jump into tailwind ui and try to find,some components that help us put our,stall together so here i am logged in in,my account where i have access to the,complete bundle which is marketing,application ui and e-commerce and for,this project we'll mix and match,components from e-commerce but also,marketing which is totally fine to do,and so we'll start our homepage with a,big bold headline so i'll come up here,and check inside the hero section we're,looking for something fairly simple here,a big bold headline the paragraph of,text and a call to action and actually,this first component right here seems to,be what i want we don't really want the,entire component for example i don't,need this navigation here but remember,these components are meant to be a,starting point it's totally fine and,even encouraged to customize these,components take what you need remove,what you don't and so here we're going,to come in the code tab and we'll skip,all of this navigation and essentially,the only parts that we want is this main,section here,and we'll come in the home page here and,replace our placeholder,element,and here'
