Kubernetes: Anatomy of the Shopify Attack & How to Defend Your Infrastructure
Kubernetes: Anatomy of the Shopify Attack & How to Defend Your Infrastructure
welcome everyone today's webinar, kubernetes attack anatomy of the shopify, attack and how to defend your, infrastructure with our speaker today,Garwood pang he's a security researcher,at Tai Guerra he has around three years, previously with G digital as a,vulnerability researcher for the, industrial control systems and run, through year is at four Dannette four, million where he was protecting IT,networks and so that gives him the, experience to talk about this subject, today so without further ado I will hand,it over to our speaker Carver I thank, you Michael I got to be here so what are,we doing today with World War two a,possible attack scenario that I've made, based on high profile breaches of,reports and blog post we will look at,this day of each stage of the attack and, then we can see the different ways we,can mitigate or prevent it from, happening again we will also try to see,why Felix first approach would benefit,in this situation so if we're looking at,the several high profile attacks and, breaches the most common attack, bacterias via something called a server, side request forgery attack also known,as a SSR F from here the attacker can, leverage the FFRF to access the internal,IP is cloud resources that is connected,to the instance and the Corporal bodies, metadata service will they accepted a,mate is met with the service but both, the access to the metadata service the, attacker can then we treat the cloud, identity and access management role, credential and that family would be solo, credentials, the attacker can dent impersonate the, resources and then gain access to the, kubernetes cluster so when is a server, side request order attack it is abusing, the functionality of the server to read,or update internal resources usually it,involves modifying a URL or a form which, and the server will down also and then, make a request on your behalf,oh this might sound a little bit, confusing right now but what, show you to you in the demo issue make, more sense in metadata surface is to use,by the cloud operations to retrieve info, above the running instance a usually, profile like hostname IPA cures the I am,bro, credentials and other useful data to,help manage and scale instances and to,access the melody a service is actually, quite simple, you just have to query from within your, instance the one six nine two five four, one six nine IP address for both AWS ng,CP or D domain valadares Google de,internal for GCP in Kiruna DS the, interesting part here is that actually, every single part actually has access to,this validator service by default this,is because for someone on gke Google's,managed community service it's actually, still running on TCP and in every, instance in GCP you have to access you,are able to access the metadata service, this is also the same for AWS and, they're each ekn offering because eks,it's also running on ec2 and then ec2 is,has their own metadata service it is,also important to note that the operator,of your cluster or your cloud you can, also add like your

Shopify UNITE: Theme Accessibility
Shopify UNITE: Theme Accessibility
Hey hi everyone my name is Steve,Bosworth I'm a front-end developer here,at Shopify on the seams team and what I,want to talk to you a little bit about, today is web accessibility and how it,relates to themes on Shopify and some, tools and practices that you can roll, into your own workflows to make your, seems a lot more accessible I'm going to,be sort of touching a lot of on a lot of,things today really like brief overview,of a lot of things so don't worry I'm,going to share the slides afterwards, along with a lot of resources and links,to some of the things that I might just, mention so you don't have to frantically, take notes or anything like that but, just getting right into it what is,accessibility or a 11 why if you're not, familiar with accessibility you might, have seen this abbreviation around the,web it's just accessibility with the 11,middle letters stripped out of it makes,it a little bit easier to hashtag and,you can pronounce it sort of any way you, like but accessibility on the web really, means you know through our designs and,our codes making the content of our, stores accessible to everyone regardless,of whether or not they have some sort of,physical disability so from a code, perspective basically hTML is sort of,the bedrock of accessibility on the web,if you let it it does a lot of the work, for you so you know using semantic, markup where it's appropriate using, descriptive tags to indicate what type,of content lives in that tag so heading, tags you know having alt attributes on,your images stuff like that so the you, know the the real easy thing is that all,you have to do is not break the web and,it's a lot easier than it sounds j/s and,CSS will also have a lot to do with your, accessibility but it all comes back to,HTML at the end of the day in practice, what accessibility means at least for,our team it's generally just asking, ourselves a lot of questions while we're,developing,a theme so you know what happens when I,hit tab on my keyboard am I still able,to navigate my site what happens if I,turn on a screen reader use some other, type of assistive device to try and, navigate a store or even you know from a,design level what happens if you take, away all of the colors totally, monochrome you know can you still see, what's important can you still see what, elements you should be interacting with,or what state they're in so you know, similar to our responsive workflow and I,really like to think of accessibility is,just a workflow that sits alongside your, responsive workflow you know there, you're asking questions what does it,look like when my theme is on a mobile, device or on you know when I use a touch, instead of a click to interact with an,element that's just you know how does, our content look on devices, accessibility is a workflow that lets, you think about what your content looks, like to your users so I think it's Lou,it's it's a really powerful that way, let's just talk briefly about the w3c,because you can't really talk about, accessibility withou

Simple Print On Demand Design Trick To Make More Sales On Shopify (Beginner Friendly)
Simple Print On Demand Design Trick To Make More Sales On Shopify (Beginner Friendly)
have you ever spent time on a design for, your store and then when you try to sell,it no one buys and you're left thinking, what am i doing wrong if that's,something you've thought of before then, you're definitely gonna get something, out of this video because i'm gonna be,showing you five examples of a winning, design versus a design that's probably, not going to sell and here's our first, two you can see on the bottom it says, canvas a and canvas b as we go through, each of these designs today i will be,lettering them let me know down in the, comments of this video as you're,watching which one you think is the, better one obviously both of these, designs here are for the lake life neat, they're for people that have a house on,the lake or just like going to the lake,or something like that the one on the, right is a design that i see a lot of,beginners try to emulate essentially, they are just taking a photo of,something to do with the niche and they, are just adding it into their canvas in,most cases that's not going to be enough,to get people actually excited enough to,make a purchase and now let's take a,look at the one on the left you can see, here that not only does it have, personalization on it where someone can,add their last name the lake that they, live on the state that they're in and, even the year that they moved there but,it also has an effect in the background, you can see that they have made this, canvas look like it is wood it is,actually not wood it is just a regular, canvas and it's printed to make it look, like it is wood here is the store, here that is actually selling it you can,see as we kind of click through the,mock-ups here that this is a much more, tasteful design right it's going to,really appeal to people because it's,going to be something that has style it,has character if you're just doing, something like this which is just a a,photo on a canvas it's not going to get, people as excited as something, like this here so i guess the tip would,be if you're creating canvases like, think about how you can utilize the, actual product to make it more tasteful, adding a background to it or something, like that compared to just uploading a,photo to the canvas might actually, result in more sales here's our second, design this is a hooded blanket we have, two here for the baseball niche and, obviously this would be something that, maybe a mom could wear,to the game right when she's going to,the baseball field to watch her kids, play this could be something that she, wears now obviously when we look at,these two designs they're both quite, simple now the one on the left what, they've done is essentially just taken a,t-shirt design and thrown it on the, blanket i hear questions a lot from, people where they say joe if i have a,t-shirt design that is awesome can i,just throw that on any product i want, and while you could do that a lot of,times the results might not be great, because you're left with something like,we see here where it's just a white, blanket with a random qu

3 Reasons Why We Build Niche Specific Stores
3 Reasons Why We Build Niche Specific Stores
- Yo, what's up guys.,Anton here from dropshiplifestyle.com,and if you've been following us,for any amount of time, you are aware that we build,niche-specific stores.,And what I mean by that,is we build stores that sell, one specific type of product.,Not one product, right?,We don't have one product page,,we have many of them.,But the stores are built around a theme.,They're built around a niche,,they're built around selling, the same type of product.,So, an example I usually give,is if I was going to sell
stand-up paddle boards,,I would have a stand-up paddle board store, that sold every legitimate
stand-up paddle board, that I could find, right?,So, in this video I wanna talk about, three reasons why we do this.,So, three reasons we build,niche-specific stores, over what some people call general stores,,and what I call shopping mall type stores.,(soft music),Alright guys, so reason number one, that we build niche-specific stores,is that it's an easy way to build trust,,and really it does that by giving us,more authority and having
us look more credible.,So just picture this, right?,If somebody had a store online, that sold stand-up paddle boards, and then they heard that, I don't know, gun safes were a big
seller, which they are,,but then they'd put them
on their website, right?,Then they have paddle boards, and they have gun safes.,Then they hear that model trains, sell really well.,So they add a little
category for that, right?,And before you know it, what happens is,you just have this mix of random stuff.,And maybe when it's all
by itself it does well,,but when you mix it all together,it gets really confusing for the person, that lands on your site.,And when things get confusing,,that's usually people
start having red flags, kinda pop up in their head,,either conscious or subconscious,of is this really legit?,I mean, it would be
like if you were walking, down the street, saw a strip mall, and you walked in to the same thing.,You saw a paddle board store,,and then you saw they had all this, other random stuff laid out.,But what is this? Is this
like, like what do you, guys do here, right?,So it's hard to describe exactly, why it builds trust in,
without just staying, that when you can really specific,,people know, okay, this is a store.,This is a company, this is what they do,,and just having that
increases your credibility.,Now, if you're thinking, well, what about Amazon, right?,They sell everything under the sun.,That's true, but you're not Amazon, and you're not going to be Amazon.,In fact, the other reasons why,we build niche-specific stores, are because when we get niche-specific,it actually allows us to stand out,,and have what is really
a competitive advantage,over those big box-type
stores, I should say.,So, number two.,This plays right in to this.,Number two reason why we build,niche-specific stores is so we can, create content around our niche.,So again, if I was selling
stand-up paddle boards,I can have a blog on my site.,I can have my Instagram page.,I c
