Well, everyone Christian here,that, you know,,beautiful design and excellent,user experience can increase,the perceived value,of your Shopify store.,I want to go over best practices.,Why they actually matter.,And I'm actually going to show you,hands on how to get it done,on the dawn theme.,Stick around.,It takes point zero,5 seconds for a customer to decide,if they're going to,shop on your site or not.,That's insane if you think about it.,So it's very,,very important,that you are doing,everything in your power,to stand out,and make a great first impression.,Now we're going to categorize,best practices,into four main categories,that define a great e-commerce,website experience.,Number one is going to be,esthetically pleasing.,The be esthetically,pleasing category.,So first off,,your Shopify store,needs to impress,the customer, right?,So a good visual appeal is a must.,If you're going to capture,their attention and 50 milliseconds.,So what are some best practices,to ensure that your website,is esthetically pleasing?,Well, I'm glad you asked.,The first one is to display,your product,photography with a clean,white background,and also include,lifestyle photos of your products,being used.,That's like the gold standard.,You don't,necessarily have to,follow it verbatim,,but I'm telling you,,these are best practices.,So maybe,you don't have a white background,,maybe you have a slight,gray background,,maybe you have a pan background.,The important thing here,is to make sure,that your photography is on point,,that your photography looks,great, crisp,,you can actually appreciate,the product.,We've actually talked,on several videos,on different examples,of different websites who are doing,great product photography,and they don't necessarily follow,this white background gold standard.,Now, if you want to follow this,,then the number one app,that I would recommend is removed.,Dot be,,as you can see, remove,that bag,,remove the image background,of any image 100%,automatically and free,if you do want to use removed,the iPhone.,iPhone for iPhone 14 or iPhone 16.,I was,just came out,with an awesome feature,that if you take your photography,with your iPhone,,you can just tap hold,it will cut it out for you,and you can pace of,whatever you want.,So there are ways,to clean up your photos,very, very easily.,And again, obviously,,you want to have awesome lighting,with all your photos,,but cutting them up,,putting them in,some clean backgrounds.,Again, gold standard.,Best practice,number two,is to limit your website,to two main colors.,Use them wisely.,Now, in order to pick your colors,,you want to make sure,that you have some sort of either,brand guidelines or brand kit for,your whole company.,Right.,It's not just coming up with a logo.,A lot of times,the logos are just black and white,and they don't show a lot of color.,So it's very important that you pick,some sort of color palette,that showcases,the personality of the brand.,It showcases,who the brand really is,,and

taxes can seem scary I get it but it,doesn't have to be so let's break it,down real quick when you're selling,online you need to collect sales tax for,any item that you've sold however each,state does it a little bit differently,which just makes it super confusing so,some states you only have to collect,sales tax if you have a physical,location there like if your business,headquarters is there or if your,Warehouse is there that you're shipping,the products out of other states it's,based off of a revenue threshold of how,many sales you're making for products in,that state which is called an economic,Nexus and each state also has different,levels of the threshold here just to,make it even more confusing some states,you don't have to collect sales tax on,different types of products like in New,Jersey you don't have to collect sales,tax on clothing or Footwear in,California you don't have to collect,sales tax on food that is consumable it,can get really confusing but thank,hopefully there is a better way to,manage it all and make sure that you,don't end up with a huge unexpected tax,bill you used to have to manage all this,individually with a third-party Shopify,app or just your own bookkeeping team,but thankfully there is a new feature,called Shopify tax that makes it all a,lot easier and all just in your Shopify,backend area,so you want to make sure that you've,actually opted in for this new feature,of Shopify tax because it is free for,your first hundred thousand dollars in,online sales and then after that is just,a small fee to management moving forward,so you can get to this area by going to,your settings and your Shopify back-end,and then taxes and duties and you can,then set up there which individual,states you need to be collecting sales,tax for and it'll start showcasing based,off of your thresholds of how many sales,you have in each state as well so it'll,notify you when you need to start,collecting sales tax in a new state and,start showcasing what tax that is make,sure it's charging it to the customers,as well as showing you what that is on,the back end so you can make sure that,you are saving accordingly a key feature,in getting this to work correctly is,making sure that your products are,categorized correctly within Shopify and,you can find this area in the taxes and,Duty section as well but this way it,helps Shopify know based off of,different states that charge taxes for,different types of category of products,it'll let Shopify know what type of,category your product is in and make,sure it is charging the appropriate,sales tax or not charging sales tax,based off that so you want to make sure,that you go in and make sure all of your,products are categorized correctly so,just to make this even more confusing,this is just sales tax that I'm talking,about right now this is not income tax,which each state charges individually or,each country charges individually as,well and you'll have a federal income,tax so this is where it gets even mor

okay,okay uh definitely feeling that one i,can 100 use that as is,if you watch one of my recent videos,you'll see that i just launched a new,e-commerce store selling children's,books that i wrote and designed so i,actually used fiber a ton for the book,designs as well as the logo and store so,i actually wanted to head into fiverr,and take a look at their ecommerce,product videos section and check out,some of the gigs there and purchase a,few of them to kind of see how they,compare as well as then use those as,video ads for my books for marketing,them so i'm going to head into my fiverr,account now and just take a look i've,kind of poked around a tiny bit looking,at some of the different e-commerce,product videos and the gigs that are,available,there's actually a lot of different,options which is pretty cool i think one,of the biggest things that i need to,remember is i want to do a spread of a,couple different,priced here so you can see how it looks,at different price points and i also,want to make sure that at least for this,first round that all of the sellers are,in the united states because that's,where i'm located and it's just going to,be easier to actually send them the,products because it's actual physical,products so i have to send it to them,first it's just going to take a lot,longer when it's international so,because i'm on a little bit of a time,crunch with a product launch i want to,actually make sure to kind of get it a,little bit faster and choose someone in,the us so i'm going to turn on local,sellers,so that i just see the people that are,in the us,and let's see what we have so because,they're children's books i would really,like to,actually have children featured in the,ads so it'd be really nice i'm seeing a,lot of like,females here um which would be great for,like skin care products or,apparel but let's see if we can find,someone that has some kids stuff let's,see they have,250 for a 30 second video,11 orders in the queue oh popular okay,there's a kid,let's see let's take a look at this,cute cute okay we can do one of these,let's actually choose it though let's,see they don't have voice over in their,lowest one let's choose,middle,so we can see what voice over and a 45,second video looks like okay so that's,285,next let's head back and let's see what,else we can find,oh my gosh i just found this is totally,unrelated but i'm totally doing it um a,book trailer they can illustrate where,they take your illustrations and then,they animate it into a,actual trailer,oh my gosh how cute is this,oh my gosh okay yeah i'm totally,reaching out and seeing how much it,would cost to actually animate the books,so not for this video,but i'm gonna totally reach out on that,one that's super cool didn't even know,that that was possible okay super,sidetracked back to it,okay so let's see i also have found,let's see another person and they do,both photos and videos so that could be,cool to add nice family,let's see okay we've got some demo,some kids
