How To Add Custom Fonts On Shopify Store (2022)
How To Add Custom Fonts On Shopify Store (2022)
how to add custom fonts on shopify store,hi guys welcome back into this channel, and today i will be teaching you how to,add or upload custom fonts on shopify, store,so let's begin right away, the favorite step is to make sure that, you have signed up,on the shopify store,or the shopify website so simply go to,shopify.com and sign up and make sure, that your email is working since shopify, will be sending an email regarding the, verification or the activation of your, account, and once you're done, simply go to the home page which is this, one, and then click on online store under the, sales channel section right here, and make sure that you are on the themes, section and right now what you're going,to do,is to make sure that your theme is not, done, instead it should be debut, since i don't have the debut theme right, here what i will be doing is to go to,shopify theme store so go to visit theme, store, and then wait for it to load once you're,here hit search on the upper right and, then, type in,debut once you are here click on the, debut with this icon, and click on try theme wait for it to,load once again and then once it is done, loading you may start editing the debut, site or theme you just simply scroll, down and wait for it to load, until you can click on customize so,click on customize and wait for it to,load once again, there are options wherein you can change, the font right here but this will not be,the page, where we can edit or add our custom, fonts,so you just accept it right here,go to actions and click on,edit code so this will be a complex one,so you need to follow these steps, thoroughly so go to search files and, type in css and under, the assets click on theme css and then,go to the bottom,of the page, and then click on the bottom, hit enter, and then,go to,the,um description box below since i will be,adding this code so simply copy and, paste this code, and now once you have pasted it what, you're going to do now is to download, the font that you want so i suggest you,use the font.com website but there are, other websites you can search in google,so you need to search for, font downloader for free and etc if you, want to download one, just click on download and then simply, follow the steps needed, and then the file will be,uh mostly can be seen as,zip so like this one so in order for you,to extract it you need to click on the, folder first, and then right click, and click on extract all or extract here,or whichever, option you can see,and then now once it will be extracted, you may see a folder or a content like, this one so this is the font, what you're going to do now is to look, for its property so that you may see its,um,format so,right click on the font, click on properties, and then as you can see the type of file,is dot dtf so remember the type of font,or the type of file, since you will be needing it afterwards,so mine is dot etf so it will appear as,otf or wolf or,etc so let's go back to the code first, and as you can see the um type of file, that we will be needing is wolf2

How to update your Shopify theme without losing customizations
How to update your Shopify theme without losing customizations
Hey everyone.,Thomas here from Archetype Themes, here
to talk to you today about upgrading, your theme to the latest version.,Now, there comes a time in every
merchant's journey after they've,bought our, one of our themes after
they've set it up, it's running, it's,making sales and you let it run for
three months, six months a year and, eventually you'll need to upgrade.,That reason for upgrading
could be one of many.,Maybe there's a new feature that's in
one of our latest versions that you, wanna take advantage of; a new section.,Maybe there is an app that you're
trying to integrate with that works, best with the latest version of our
theme, or maybe there's a bug that, was introduced for one of many reasons
that is fixed in the latest version.,One of the things that you get when
you purchase one of our themes is,access to the latest versions for
the entire life of that product.,Actually getting that theme installed
is another process in itself.,And it will vary depending on the number
of customizations that you've made and,how complex those customizations are.,We recommend that you upgrade
your theme at least once a year,,especially before any big sales season
like black Friday, summer Monday.,Now, when it comes to upgrading,
you have three options available to,you: manually updating, the theme
updater app, or hiring a professional.,So without further ado, let's get
started exploring our first option,,manually updating your theme.,The process of manually updating
your theme involves copying and, pasting configuration files from
the old version to the new version.,In addition to these configuration
files, you might also need to be copying, customizations that were done to the
previous version, such as styling tweaks, done by a developer or modifications made
by an app when it was installed, so that,it integrates properly with your theme.,It's really dependent on your particular
situation and the setup that you have, achieved with your previous theme.,Let's take a look at how we
go about copying configuration, files from one theme to another.,So here we have our store, as you
can see, we, our published theme, has expands version 2.4 installed.,And below here we have expands 3.1
installed as an unpublished theme.,Now you can see if we were to
preview this new version of expands.,It doesn't look at all
like our published theme.,These are the default styles
that are provided with expand.,So to get started, let's go to
our online code editor, edit code,,and let's start with the global
configuration file settings.data.,So, what we're gonna do first is
select all which is command or control,a and then copy command C control C.,Next you're gonna go back to the
previous screen, where we saw both of,our themes and go to the code editor
for the new version of the theme.,Scroll down to the same
file settings.data.,Select all command a control, a and
pace command V control control B,,and finally, we're gonna hit safe.,So let's take a look at how things
look so far by h

Upgrading to online store 2.0
Upgrading to online store 2.0
hey everyone jan here codingwithyan.com,today i want to give you a quick but yet, very important update on some of the, changes coming to shopify's free themes,we are going to be covering the new, themes that are coming what features you,can expect and also how to migrate from, older themes is going to be particularly, important if you're an agency a,freelancer or shopify partner because, you just need to know how this is going,to impact merchants so then i would say, let's have a look alright so by now, you're probably all familiar with the,new dawn theme it was the first theme to,support the online store 2.0 features, and it's also the new default theme when, you create a store from scratch,in direct comparison to the older free, themes don is also a very fast and, lightweight theme yeah i guess we all, know how performance and page speed is,always a major concern for merchants, right and you can also use dawn to learn, more about the new theme architecture or,how to build themes in a very web native, way and it can even be used as a,starting point for building your own, themes which is pretty cool, okay but now why am i telling you all of,this what is changing in 2022,at the first announcement starting from, today you will find three new themes, sitting next to dawn, and the way these were created is that, they were forked from dawn's github repo, and then each of the themes is,pre-configured for one of the top, merchant industries so don will be an,apparel theme, then craft for home and decor stores, crave there will be a theme for beverage, and the food industry, and sends there will be for the health, and beauty niche, and when we say pre-configured it means, that they will all share the same, sections and the same settings but the,pre-configuration or the default, configuration is really focused on one, specific industry and to give an example, here the crave theme which is for food, and beverage they will have a,collapsible tab with ingredients on the, product page and in the same way they, all have their own visual styles their, own branding per default to support, their industry and to help merchants get, started more quickly, all right then we can also talk a bit, about the new features and first of all,all these themes will have a slideshow, section which was heavily requested for, dawn, and then there will also be more styling, options on a global level as you know, every theme has section specific options, and then also the global theme settings, and here you will be able to make, changes to borders or control the, shadows of different elements things, like the opacity width radius offset and,so forth and this would apply to,different components like product cards,or buttons for example then we will also, have more settings on a section level, and just to name one example here on the, product page within the main section we,can now choose between different layout, options which gives more control over, how much size the media occupies or how, thumbnails are being displayed, and of course the

How To UPDATE Your Shopify Theme
How To UPDATE Your Shopify Theme
all right everyone christian here today,i'm going to show you how to keep your, theme up to date super super important, let's get started,so shopify recently released os 2.0 and, with all of that all the themes and the, theme store have been updated to us i'd,say 99 of them have been updated uh,which means that you should definitely, update your theme right now, now, essentially now is the perfect time for,you to update your theme if you haven't,uh there are two ways in which you can,do this um first we're going to do the,old way,it's a little bit more cumbersome, since, actually maybe a few weeks ago a few, months ago they've added the ability to,do this a lot easier but i'm still going,to show you some of some of the other, ways so,shopify and other theme designers, frequently release updated versions of,their themes that they publish on the, theme store so,these updated versions usually include, bug fixes, and a lot of times some new features too,so it's important for you to keep them,up to date on a regular basis what i,would probably recommend is that you, check it,once a month or once every two months, and you just go through this process, make sure that you're,up to date with everything, and just kind of move on,again, bug fixes and new features and then just, the ability to,potentially load your website faster or,all things that you want and your, customers want as well so this is,something that i haven't seen a lot of,people uh necessarily talk about but,it's super important to add to your uh,sort of things that you should do a,maintenance maintenance wise right for, your shopify store because it doesn't,happen automatically so step number one,is to check what theme you're actually, using so do that very simply we just go,to online store and then right here, under themes,it will show you the live theme that, you're using here at the very top so,right now we have venture and then we,have the, version 9.4.1,right here and then if you scroll down a,little bit you'll see your theme library,so these are the other themes that, you've added to your store some of them, could be team throughout, theme trials,or just some older, themes,in there so now we can see that we have, venture and that's the latest version, that we have installed right here now, step number two again this is the sort,of the old way of doing this uh it would,be to go to the theme store and actually, find your theme so we're just gonna do,that really quickly just to kind of show, you what we do in here so we're going to,look for venture, click on that, and then we're going to click on venture,as you can see like venture is not an os,2.0 site let me go back so you can see,it doesn't have the tag for the os 2.0,here so i would recommend not to keep, venture and move on to something a,little bit better but for the purpose of,this tutorial we're going to do this and, then what we want to do here is log in,and then let me grab this real quick, copy, paste, okay so now that you're logged in then,uh this depending on the act

"Updating Your Shopify Theme Version" - Shopify Tutorial
hi my name is lauren and i'm a software, engineer here at sunrise integration in,today's video we're going to talk about, updating your shopify theme and how it,might be a little more complicated than, you'd think especially if you've already, updated or edited any code but not to,worry in today's video we're going to go,through two ways you can update your, shopify theme without losing any of your, customizations,if you haven't edited any code you will, actually find that shopify lets you know, when there's an update for your theme, there's a drop down where you can see, your current theme and view release, notes to see what bugs are being fixed, and what new features are coming and, then you can just say add theme to,library and it'll create a copy of your, new theme and merge over your, customizations, however if you have edited any of your, code that drop down will actually, disappear, and this is what makes it a little bit, trickier to even know if your theme has,an update ready for you to do that you, will have to go straight to the shopify, theme store and look at your theme to,see the release notes and know if a new, theme is out and if you should copy and, download it,you can use shopify's code editor to,find the differences between your, current theme and the theme update, these little dots on the side indicate, that a file has been changed, and you'll want to look at your, sections.liquid files specifically to,find what customizations need to be,brought over to the theme update, shopify also offers a drop down so you,can see older versions and this is a,good tool to use to find the changes in,your code, but you still have to go through and, inspect to really find what changed so,this could be difficult if you've made, lots of big changes to many lines of,code,if you've made changes to multiple files, and lots of lines of code then you can,use github integration with shopify to,be able to compare to the updated theme, and your current theme and merge all of,those changes together this is the, safest way to ensure that you're not, going to break your live site or any of,your customizations, the shopify github integration is such a,powerful tool for version control and, being able to see a backlog of all of,your commits and this is definitely the, solution i would recommend for your, customized shopify theme and trying to,update it,i hope today's video gave you a better, idea of how to update your shopify theme, and manage your customizations and if,you still need help our ecommerce, experts and developers here at sunrise, integration are ready to help, don't forget to hit subscribe for more, ecommerce solutions coming soon

Shopify theme change
okay so you've made it this far and,we've gone through all the general uh,shopify admin settings and now we're,gonna get to the meat of this course, with setting up the online store which,i'm sure a lot of you have been waiting, for so the first thing we're going to,cover is selecting your theme,so let's go ahead and take a look at the, store right now,and this is just a random name i,selected, okay so this is the default theme called, debut that shopify gives you, pretty basic, and we can also so we can click here to,view our store and if we click customize, right here,it'll then take us into, how to change the layout of our store, with these options on the side, and then, where it says actions this will give us,a drop down menu this again will let us,preview the store so let us rename, the theme,so it's debut we just change this to,whatever especially if we ended up,altering it later we want to save a copy,of it and then maybe change the theme, again, this will allow us to duplicate the, theme download the file editing the code,so take a look at that and then edit, languages,so this is the actual theme of the the,uh,or the actual code of the theme,so layout will be,um the home page and then you can see, specific templates like the blog, sections and this might look super, confusing especially you have a no code, background but um we'll come back to,this later, and then edit language this is the, language of your site so in other words,um,great example this is the cart page,so if we go down to checkout, then let's go to our site,so we go to the cart okay so i guess we,actually have to have a product in the, cart but normally if there's a product,in the car it'll say check out and then,if we change this language we can change, the word checkout into something else so,um,let's go back here we'll get into more, detail with all this stuff just wanted,to,show you those and then here down you,can check out uh free shopify themes, upload your own or go to the theme store,so,whoops, let's go back to online store i thought, that was going gonna open up another tab,so let's explore free themes,so we've got a few that you can use,it looks like they've actually added,so oh no these are the same,i guess they have more than i thought, they did so you can go ahead and use any,of these,so i actually think that you should, stick with the debut theme the default, and the reason for that is,i've messed around with all these and,the debut theme, seems to appear best on mobile in my,opinion so,you can go ahead and install one of,these, you know if you like one of them or just, want your store to look different but,in my opinion i think you should just, stick with the debut theme, and then once your store really starts, going and there are a couple paid themes,i would recommend that will just make, the site run faster, you can check out the theme store, but i mean especially right now i don't,think you should purchase a theme, and in my opinion if you're going to end,up purchasing a theme i think you should,j
