hey what's going on entrepreneurs so i,know i post this on october 1st,is now almost the end of the month and,convergio has got a ton of updates when,we launched it it was,0.1.0 now we're on 0.1.7,that's the latest update it's going to,actually be going to be coming out uh,actually on friday i believe today is,what the almost the 30th,yeah tomorrow's the 30th so tomorrow the,update is going to be,0.1.7 so let's do a speed test,on the theme uh as it is now i believe,when we posted it uh when we were,first launched it was around 2.6 seconds,so we're going to do a a new look at,what the theme looks like right now,and we've added quite a lot you know,we've got a,nice mega menu we've got a wish list app,we've got a currency converter,we've got this awesome fancy chat the,slider now has some pretty cool effects,uh we had a little bit more depth uh,with that nice shadow,around the mega menu and as you can tell,the menu itself has some animated,effects as well,um you know we've added quite a lot,scroll to top we finally have,uh which automatically adjusts with the,height did you see that,it adjusts with the height we've got uh,verified review,options uh for testimonials we're still,working on this feature,um this is the development version so,you know you're gonna see more features,on here than our actual production,version,but you you're all able to easily go,here and see what future updates are,going to look like,we also have a custom pages option so,you can actually build out your pages,the way you want them,all these custom sections are on here,you know right on here you can add,anything you want,uh we gotta fix the spacing on that,which is easily changed,through the theme editor every aspect of,this theme you can adjust the spacing,the size you know how it's laid out on,the page and everything's perfect,um exactly how you need it we also have,a,an faq uh page that works beautifully,now,um portfolio i don't know why this is,here this is another custom page,so let's go to a product page,so we've added quite a lot to this this,theme since 0.1.1 now we now have,product swatches so let me actually go,to a product swatch so,we should have a swatch option somewhere,else i think that might be it,not entirely certain um yeah,mom yeah all right so we don't have a,color here for that product right here,we have a currently viewing,we have you're only 80 away we have,custom swatch badges i mean,custom truss badges and a nice uh,better faq accordion uh style,product description similar same concept,as the faq page but we have a,accordion style description with icons,and uh the sticky had the car so so many,bugs have been,fixed on here it's insane so we've done,a lot but let's go and test the speed,shall we all right so here we go here,so gt metrics i'm going to refresh so,you guys can see that,all right paste it analyze it let's see,what the speed is on here,now i told you guys i wouldn't be,editing this video what you see is what,you get,this is good you're goin

How To Update Shopify Theme Without Losing Customization

hey how's it going there the solutions,so today we have a client who you know,just having some issues they have a lot,of uh you know issues with their theme,you know where you know obviously a,loose load times and it's due to the,fact that they installed a lot of apps,previously and apps tenderly if you know,hold code behind its very own optimized,apps don't really care you know these,app companies don't care about your,store and how they install their app and,uninstall it you know they care about,you know getting that monthly payment,and also you know they want to install,everything globally they don't kind of,you know separate things so what we're,doing is I'm going to show you how to,you know handle that that exact issue we,optimized the store still not really,happy so I went back to the client and,said hey you know on I think we should,probably install a fresh copier theme,that way,you know only the apps are in actually,need and actually are using will be,installed on this theme it will also,remove that coat all those old codes,that were left behind now why do you,don't know but the proper way to,actually remove apps is to go into the,app and disable the settings wait a,little while because typically some apps,they have this they have what we call,cron job now runs in the background goes,through you know stores that are,disabled and more typically you know a,large majority of apps of ethics that,I've used in with this experience go and,remove the code that that's left behind,and then after once that's completed you,can actually go and delete the app most,of you don't do that you just go,straight up and delete the app don't,really blame you because no one told you,now I did so I'm gonna show you how to,install a fresh copy of the theme so I'm,gonna go in and delete this theme right,here and show you the steps of them and,then I took so does this particular,client is using district so what we're,gonna do is we're going to go down here,we're gonna go to shop by theme store,I'm gonna search up district and because,they paid for it we can actually go and,install the latest version so we're,gonna do that kind of looked at do its,thing,all right Wow Shopify you're actually,fast for once,all right so now we got having close out,of this window now we have the that we,have district so I'm gonna rename this,while it's doing this whole thing and,we're just saying this fresh copy so now,there's nothing here right there's,nothing no settings of MA no,customizations nothing nada zilch right,now a lot of people don't know this but,you know I've seen numerous people going,and have to redesign their store you,don't have to do that I really don't you,can go here we can edit the code you can,see I did a lot of different things here,so we're gonna go here and all the way,down to config settings data now mind,you this won't always copy everything,over but it's gonna save you a lot of,time time is everything so it's gonna go,here,copy the code I'm gonna go back her

Shopify Theme Development EP02 - Store Data vs Theme Data

hello and welcome to the second video in,this series on Shopify theme development,in the first video we covered what a,theme is and where it sits in the,context of the Shopify environment,here's a quick recap Shopify is a fully,featured ecommerce platform that you can,use to power an online storefront a,point of sale system or sell through,other online platforms,the most common way users utilize,Shopify is through the built-in online,store sales channel and a Shopify theme,is the template that determines the way,that your online store looks and feels,in this video we're going to cover,something that's important to understand,when working between multiple themes and,that is the difference between what is,stored in your online store and what is,stored in your theme let me show you,what I'm talking about alright so if you,watched the last video on what is a,theme if you haven't definitely go back,and check that one out it's a short one,definitely worth watching but we went,through the different themes in the,store and we switch between them and,that was to demonstrate what a theme,does and doesn't do now that we're,talking about what data is stored in,your theme and what data is stored not,in your theme ie in your store or in,your online store sales channel let's go,have a look at your theme again so I'm,gonna open up the current theme and I'm,gonna preview a secondary theme as well,I don't think we need the third theme,because you'll be able to see a clear,difference between these two themes so I,want you to look at these two themes and,see how they look quite different but,there's a few things that are the same,and that is we've got products the same,products in each of these themes because,we are looking at the same store we're,not looking at a different store we're,just looking at a different way of,presenting the same information over,here on the Left we have a menu and if,you look at this theme as well you can,see the exact same menu okay and that's,because navigation and products store,data so,here you've got products within your,overall Shopify store data products are,quite central to your e-commerce,business so whether you're selling on,point-of-sale or through an online store,or through some other you know platform,maybe you sell through Instagram,products are gonna be central to your,e-commerce platform but then within your,online store you've got things that are,specific to your online store like,themes blog posts pages navigation,navigation is one thing that you may,think could be distinct to the theme but,no it is central in your online store so,if we go and click into navigation as an,example we can see here this is where we,would customize navigation so we could,add in a new link I'm gonna put in a,hash as a placeholder we've already got,men's there but let's just put in men's,again and if we open up our theme or,refresh our theme both of them we can,now see that men's is added to both of,these menus also it is previewing the,same th

howdy folks we're back again and today,in the studio i've got zach from webvo,and webview,is a digital marketing business they,specialize in webflow web development,which i'm interested to learn more about,haven't used webflow before but heard a,lot of things about it,and they also do paid social advertising,zach has done work in various industries,for startups e-commerce stores,government entities and local businesses,so a lot going on all the way from green,bay wisconsin uh zach thanks for,dropping by mate good to have you on,hey absolutely happy to be here,so we'll talk about obviously you can't,meet someone from green bay and not talk,about the packers so we got that,formality out of the way before we,came on air,but i think thanks for dropping by um so,tell us about webview how long have you,been at this,yeah so i started webio,um right during the middle of the,pandemic so a great time to get into,e-commerce web development,got got my start during the pandemic i,went to,fox valley technical college a local,tech school here in wisconsin i got,degrading digital marketing and and,sales and i kind of been off to the,races ever since then i was in sales for,a while but yeah i've been at webview,for for a good year and a half now it's,been going well you know chris said it,all so i'm in various industries but i,pretty much got my start through the,e-commerce so,i use webflow and,there was a major,need for custom shopify stores because,a lot of you are quite familiar with the,shopify platform you can't really,customize it that well so what i would,do is use the custom ability of webflow,to create,custom shopify themes and then move it,back to the shopify platform so i got a,lot of work um in that space so i've,done a lot of work for e-commerce and,then just in my local local area here,i've done a lot of paid advertising,webflow work,so it's been going very well and,just very grateful for all the clients,and all the adventures i've been on in,the last year yeah,yeah yeah it's always interesting when,people build businesses in i mean,you talk about people with depressed,times or times when the market's sort of,collapsing but that was a massive,opportunity and a lot of agencies did,start to spring up where,local you know bring,brick and mortar businesses sort of,switch to that bricks and clicks type,model right with that yeah,when customers customers can't come in,store but i still want to sell stuff so,what do i do,right,that need for,building an online brand and building,that business online and particularly,ecom it was a really good time to get in,and start to support the local community,um so how did you go about that was it,did you walk down the street when okay,these guys these guys these guys um was,it sort of identifying businesses how,did you go about that to work yeah,first clients were from upwork um,so that was that was how i got my start,and then from there it was referrals and,as i was going through a lot of,networking within my local co

welcome everybody so sorry first of all,to keep you guys all waiting I know it's,been a while since I've uploaded a video,but let's get right to this I hope,everybody's having a good,end-of-the-year good holiday season I,hope everybody's selling the purpose of,this video is to talk about what is the,best theme for me to use on my Shopify,website okay so this is honestly a,question that most people who start,their own business online they want to,ask themselves well what's perfect for,me and honestly there's tons of sources,out there but in this video we're gonna,get right to it as far as the pros and,cons on using certain things let's talk,about Avon to market let's talk about,ThemeForest,so as you guys know if you go into,Shopify and you go to where it says,Shopify theme store you get to see that,there's free themes and then there's,those that are paid themes and those,typical themes they're reviewed by,Shopify they're you know they're coated,well and correctly and they make sure,that they're compliant per se so that,it's the best experience for you but of,course some of those paid themes they,might be a little steep in the pocket,maybe 120 dollars maybe a hundred and,eighty dollars right and you might say,well there's other places that could,sell them for cheaper right something,like that so here's one of the,businesses or one web site that sells,Shopify or even all types of themes for,a much less price and I want you guys to,be very very careful when you come to,websites like this so right here we're,in themeforest.net and right here what,we could do is a siphon Shopify,I do one of these and then tons of,themes at a much more reasonable price,right,they have five-star reviews let me tell,you something about this you ask,yourself well why are you these themes,available in the Shopify store maybe,that's the catch right although it has,very high ratings little do you know,that out of these 518 sales per se maybe,all of those were based off of coders or,people who are very well experienced,coding their themes not actually people,that actually that start their business,from scratch and they just want to just,drag and drop and do things some of,these themes are pretty easy to use but,I want to see a lot of them are tough to,use and let's go to one in particular,this is what you could expect let me go,back here real quick so that I won't,confuse you one thing that I don't like,when you're about to buy one of these,themes is that they only show you the,shell on the outside they only show you,the pretty of how the website would look,on the outside because you say okay Wow,you know this looks very nice let's,check this out live preview and then you,look at it and you're like oh wow you,know loads very quickly right one thing,they don't tell you is well where is,this sitting on is this a Shopify site,or is this a private server they don't,disclose that information may be upon,installing this to a Shopify server,things start to slow down you don't know,bu

How to create drop-down menus || Shopify Help Center

If you want to create drop-down menus for your store, ,but aren’t sure where to start, then keep watching.,If you haven't set up your header and footer menus, ,then watch the previous video in this series to learn how. ,You’ll need to have your header menu set up before you follow along with this video. ,Drop-down menus are used to organize products, collections, and pages in the main menu of your ,online store. This type of organization makes it easier for customers to navigate your online ,store, and quickly find what they’re looking for. Drop down menus are made up of top level menu ,items, and nested menu items. Top level menu items appear in ,the main menu of your store, and nested menu items appear in a dropdown menu. ,You can have up to two levels of nested menu items within a top level menu item.,In this example, one of the top level menu items is Shop. ,Shop has four, first level nested items within it. Shop all, Tops, Bottoms, and Outdoor. ,Everything nested under those first level items, make up the second level of nested items. ,Let’s create a first level nested menu item now.,In this example, I’ll start with the Equipment menu item, ,and nest the collections for Fitness Trackers, Yoga Equipment and Water bottles under it.,Start in the Shopify admin. From your Shopify admin, click Online Store. Then, click Navigation, ,and then, Main Menu.,If you haven't created the menu item that you want to nest, then click Add menu item, ,give the menu item a name, and link it to an existing collection or page.,For full instructions on adding menu items, watch the first video in this series.,To begin the nesting process, first, I grab the icon next to Fitness Trackers, ,and drag it up, and to the right, under Equipment.,When you drag a menu item to the right, it nests it under the previous, or top-level menu item. ,You know that the menu item is nested correctly because ,it’s offset from the rest of the menu items. ,Now I’ll do the same for the Yoga Equipment and Water bottles menu items. ,To see what the nested menu looks like on your online store, ,click Save.
