all right guys so in this video i'm,going to be showing you how you can go,ahead and,customize your debut theme within,shopify so debut theme,is the theme that all shopify stores,start out with,by default when you go ahead and start a,shopify store and if you haven't already,opened your shopify store yet you can,start your 14 day free trial by clicking,the first link in the description,so i figured i'd make this video because,debut theme,is one of the most commonly used themes,because it's the one that all stores,start out with and the view theme,actually looks,really good so right here we can see,that this is what debut theme looks like,when it's first installed with,absolutely nothing filled out,so we can see that we have where our,logo should be,we have a big header right here with,some text we have an image here,we have three images with text below,here we have,a uh empty collection and we have,another,um header type image right here another,wallpaper image,we have some testimonials and we have,three images down here,and then we have the footer so,right now we have a nice little template,but it's blank,so if you're looking to go ahead and,fill out,your um store using debut theme,the first thing you're going to want to,make sure you have is,a few key things so i'm going to bring,up a notepad and just make sure,because before you go ahead and start,the design process you're going to need,a couple things so the first one is,going to be a logo,so i assume you already have a logo at,this point if you're ready to start your,store design but if not,then make sure you get a logo first,because everything else is going to be,based around the logo,and then we're going to have a color,scheme selected,and normally this color scheme is going,to,be derived from colors from your logo,and typically,you're going to use one to two colors,to base your entire store around and,like i said these colors will be derived,from the logo and the next thing we're,going to need,is a couple wallpaper photos,so we can see we're going to need some,photos to go ahead and put back here in,this header,we need some photos to put back here and,this header as well,so if you have any large photos related,to your business,go ahead and upload them to your,computer or,put them all in one folder so we can go,ahead and,use them as backgrounds here and if you,don't you can use,different sites such as pixabay,to find free stock images that you can,go ahead and use,so let's just type in something like,fishing,so if you had a store related to fishing,you could go ahead and just,look for different stock photos here,or maybe you have something related to,yoga,or fitness you can type in a lot,of different niches depending on what,your store is based around,and you can use some of these wallpapers,to go ahead and put back here,now obviously i do think it's better if,you have your own,custom photos but uh you know not,everyone's gonna have that starting out,so if you don't you can go ahead and us

How to add H1 tag to Dawn Theme - Shopify SEO optimization

hi everybody this is marwan,in today's video i'm gonna,share with you,uh,a way to change the h1 tag on the down,theme,so first of all,the down theme is the,three themes provided by shopify,but it has a major issue here,because,when doing seo optimization the first,thing you need to do is to,set up the h1 tag which is very very,important in seo optimization to let,search and giants know about the content,of your,web page,and,the h1 tag should match,the title tag of your shopify store like,this one this is your title tag and this,is the description tag so the h1 tag,should,match the title tag to optimize your,store su,but the issue here if you go to,to this demo store here,right click,and search for the h1 tag,you're gonna see that the h1 tag here is,assigned to a logo which is an image and,this is a big mistake here,so how to fix this,so first of all we need to remove the,tag the h1 tag which is uh,which is assign it to the logo here,and assign it,on,here,the h1 tag should be above the other,content,so the first thing we need to go you,need to go to the,uh down theme code,i'm going to look for this section this,is the rich text section,so,rich text,i'm gonna,look where,is the title,position on this,so,it's gonna be someone here,somewhere here,okay,okay,this is the code that generates the,title here,i'm gonna change it to h1 tag,okay but before that we need to remove,we need to remove the h1 tag assign it,to the logo,so let me,look,where is the code for the logo,so this is the h1 tag,that i'm gonna,remove here,we're gonna just,replace it by a div instead of h1 tag,click save,okay,so now let's check if this is working or,not,update the page,okay this is working because there for,now there is no h1 tag on the page,so the first issue is resolved we have,removed the h1 tag from the logo here,so the next step we're gonna go to the,reach text and assign,the h1 tag,to the title here,so instead of h2 we're gonna make h1,here,and click save,okay let's refresh the page and test it,okay so now,this text here talk about your brand,is has the h1 tag here,so i can go,to customize the down theme,uh,section to make it match the title tag,here,i copied this i'm gonna go to customize,talk about your brand,click save,let's refresh the page,let's check now,okay this is good the h1 tag is this it,matches the,uh,the title tag of the store,which is great this is the title tag of,the store which is matching and this is,great,but let me tell you something,because down theme is an os 2.03,so,if you need to use the switch text,section for example on the product page,here,and this product page has already an h1,tag here,let's check,okay the h1 tag is assigned it to the,product title here,if,you changed,the h1 tag on the home page,and you need to add this the reach text,section to the product page you're gonna,have two,two,h1 tags assigned and this is a mistake,because,each page,needs to have just one h1 tag on it not,more just one,so let's test here let's go to the,product pa

Shopify 2.0 Templates Tutorial - Create Different Layouts for Product Pages & Collection Pages

all right what's up guys i did a poll,recently on my youtube channel where i,asked what my next video topic should be,and the most voted for topic was shopify,2.0 so today i want to talk about page,templates which is a new feature of,shopify 2.0 that many people aren't,using yet it's a really underrated,feature and it can really be quite,powerful one of the most common,questions that i get on my channel when,i talk about adding a specific feature,to a product page,is how can i add this to one product,but not to another product right how can,i add a feature to one product page,without affecting the rest of the,products on my store and a good example,of this is this tutorial where i showed,you how to add a gift message field to a,product so obviously this is for,products that have some kind of note,attached to them or maybe they have an,engraving or maybe there's something,written on the shirt whatever it's a,customizable product right and maybe not,all your products are like this maybe,not all your products are customizable,so you want to add this on one product,but not on another type of product and,that's really easy to do in shopify 2.0,you just have to use page templates so,i'm going to show you how to do that,today another good use of page templates,is to make a completely different design,for different product pages so you may,have some products which are like your,flagship products your main products,and you have a lot more to say about,them right you have you want to talk,about their features a lot more so the,example that i've got here is all birds,you know they've got their merino wool,or or tree actually tree fabric sneakers,and they have this product page right,the top of it is a typical shopify,product page but then they've got these,extra features that they want to talk,about below and we can do this now,thanks to shopify 2.0 and sections,everywhere you know how previously you,only had sections on the home page now,you have them on every page so you can,add sections,underneath your main product section on,your product page but maybe you don't,need that for all products so here,they've got their beanie and you know,they just don't have that much to say,about the beanie because the beanie is,like not their main thing their main,thing is sneakers so they have these two,different product page templates one for,the shoes and probably the other one is,just the default product template for,regular products and you know this,doesn't have to be limited to just,product pages either so here they have a,collection page which is like your,typical shopify collection page right,you have a product grid and you have,your filters on the left here but they,also have this other collection page,under new arrivals when you click on,warm weather,they have collection pages with this,nice image banner and look this is for,warm weather and it's really warm image,it really gives the mood and they have,this kind of image banner for every type,of collection that

Shopify Dawn Theme Customization - Dawn Theme Design Tutorial (OS 2.0)

all right what's up guys this is jake in,this video i'm going to be showing you,how you can go ahead and customize and,build a store using the dawn theme with,shopify so dawn is the new default theme,whenever you set up a shopify store so,we're gonna go ahead and take a look at,how you can,set it up to make your store look good,so first thing you need to do if you,don't already have a store you can go,ahead and click the first link in the,description,and you'll be taken to this page right,here and you can just enter your email,address and go ahead and start your free,trial and we can go ahead and get,started setting up your store,so once you've went ahead and started,your trial,you're going to be taken to the back end,of the store right here and we can see,that by default the current theme is,going to be dawn so what we're going to,go ahead and do first is take a look at,the base template of this theme and then,we're actually going to start building,it out so i'm going to come over here to,actions and click on preview and now we,can go ahead and take a look at the base,skeleton that dawn provides us so we can,see here that we have a little,announcement bar up top we have our logo,we have our menu and we have the cart,and search icon we have a nice header,wallpaper right here along with a call,to action right here,we have another little,call to action with some information,right here we have,four featured products right here in,this section,and then we have a media collage that,includes a video,a collection and a product and then we,have a video section down here and then,we have a multi-column section which,includes three different text sections,right here and then we have the footer,so this is how dawn looks out of the box,and we're going to do a couple small,changes to it but mostly we're going to,be,building out this store using the base,skeleton of the theme to keep things as,simple as possible so with that said,we're going to go ahead and come back,over here and really quickly we're going,to take a look at the things you're,going to need to go ahead and build out,your store using this theme,so the first thing you're going to need,is a logo if you don't already have a,logo for your business or your brand you,can make one over here at logomaker.com,or you can come over here to fiverr.com,and search for a logo designer and get,one made for relatively cheap the next,thing you're going to need is some,wallpaper photos because we've seen,especially on the header you're going to,need some photos to use for that so,these are going to be pictures that are,related to your brand or your product,and if you don't have any of those,yourself you can go ahead over here to,pixabay.com or,unsplash.com to look for free stock,photos that are related to your product,or niche and then obviously we're going,to need product photos as well as,product details so this is something,that i assume you would already have,and then in this case we saw that there,was a video

How to Install Google Tag Manager (and GA4) on Shopify in 2022

Hey there Measure geeks Julian here, back with another video.,In this video, we are going to do a little bit of an update on how to,install Google Tag Manager on our demo shop of Shopify right here.,Now to get started, you obviously need to Google Tag Manager container.,I have one already here.,It's completely empty, but then you also need to have,access to your Shopify store and you need to have the rights to actually,go in and edit your theme files.,So make sure that you are able to do so.,I'm an admin on this account.,So I should be able to edit our team files as well.,Now, the next part would be to actually look at what we need to install.,Inside of Google Tag Manager,,you will find two kind of snippets that you need to install on your page.,So we have this first and the second snippet, you can also find them in,the admin section on the install, Google Tag Manager right here.,So here we go.,We have our Google Tag Manager code that we need to place in the head,section of the HTML of our page.,And then also a body part right here.,So let's go ahead and install this.,The first part inside of our backend is to go to online store and then under,theme files, we'll go to our current theme and click on actions and then edit code.,Now this will put us into the code editor.,Don't be afraid.,We just need to do this once and place our codes right here.,So the next part you need to look for the theme liquid file.,So this is, uh, our theme liquefy.,This is the base HTML code that runs our theme.,And here we can already start looking for our first head tag.,I'm going to copy this and then paste it right here under the meter section,at the beginning here, but pretty much on top here with the head section.,So we put it in here and then we have our second code, which I'm going to copy.,Okay.,And then I'll go back and then scroll down to find the place,where our body actually starts.,This is different for every single theme.,So you can rely on this number right here, but just look for this opening body thing.,So this is a tag opening, and then we have here buddy.,And right underneath.,We want to put in our Google Tag Manager code.,Oh, I already have mine in here cause I was testing this before.,So this is now in the theme and we can go ahead and save this and this should,now be implemented on our theme file.,Now we can test this actually out by going into Google Tag,Manager, let's go to workspace here and then we click on preview.,And be aware you should be clicking on preview only if you have already,submitted a version, at least one version.,So I have already several versions or two versions in here.,If you don't have a version published yet, you will get a little notice here,that you cannot use the Tag assistant yet.,So in that case, um, if, if you are sure that you don't have any kind,of tags and here you can just click submit, put, um, A version name in here.,So for example, initialization version, and then we publish this and then you,are sure to be able

Customizable Announcement Bar - Part 1 - Shopify Coding Tutorial

hi everyone my name is sean welcome to,my first,shopify coding tutorial today we'll be,going over how to create your own custom,announcement bar,most themes nowadays come with an,announcement bar integrated already,however they're somewhat limited in what,you can do especially if you're building,this theme for our clients who might not,want to dive into,custom html they're much more,comfortable using the theme editor,shopify has,in this case this announcement bar you,can input your text,you can choose your color scheme and you,can input your link and,this is reflected right here however,there's not only these three options,so today what we're going to be doing is,creating our own custom announcement,bars i've created two here,free shipping orders fifty dollars plus,and spring sale ends today,we're going to be adding those and we're,going to be giving ourselves,a lot more options we can choose whether,we want it to be on the home page,we can choose whether we want the text,lowercase uh,uppercase we can change color bold text,and we can choose actually the height of,the announcement bar,and these are just a few customization,options we can add,we can add as many as we'd like but this,will give you a bit of an introduction,to shopify's liquid templating language,so if you're new to that,or you want to build this for your,client follow along,let's get started so first thing i like,to do is go into,shopify's theme backend going to online,stores and then themes,and we'll see our current theme here in,my case is called,dawn let's go ahead and click actions,and,click duplicate and that'll create an,exact copy,and place it within our theme library at,the bottom,i've gone to actions and rename and i've,renamed mine,dev theme custom announcement bar and,i've given it today's current date just,so i can reference it,once you've done that you've created a,duplicate of the live theme,and you've renamed it we'll go back into,actions and edit code,and we'll be brought to a page it looks,like this,here you'll see on the left all the,files that make up,your shopify theme one of the most,important ones is a file,called theme.liquid so let's click into,that and take a look,and you'll see if you scroll down a,little bit uh the basic,tags that you're quite familiar with on,every website we've got our head opening,and closing tags,we've got our body and,opening and closing html tags so this,page is rendered,on every single page of our website this,layout so it's very important,and within this we're actually going to,be rendering our announcement bar too,but we'll get to that in a moment,let's scroll down a little bit on the,left here and within our sections folder,we'll see,my theme comes with a file called,announcement bar we'll click into that,and take a look,here we have a bit of loops if,statements,uh switch cases and that's,all wrapping up some basic html and then,as bottom here,we have some schema as well we'll go,into what all this means in a moment,but we're goi

Change Home Page Browser Tab Name Titles 👉Shopify Dawn Theme 👉 Problem Solved

hello and welcome to this video in this,video we will solve an issue with,shopify don theme or any other theme,that you are using that your store name,in the browser tab is not showing,properly,so in that case you can see here it is,showing amazon search form and then the,ip search form but i only want the iep,search from this amazon search firm i,don't wanted it,so this happened because when sometimes,when you created the store we just,randomly chose a my.shopify.com right so,as you can see this was the,my.shopify.com for this,unique store name but later we added our,custom domain,but still you may see that in the live,tab you are still seeing the old,name,my shopify name that you have already,changed from setting and from the store,name but it is all it is again showing,in the live,tab so how we can solve it so for,solving it go to online store and then,go to preference,okay and then you will find that home,page title okay so you can see this was,that title that i don't wanted amazon,search for but if i go to other pages,you can see this was about the iep,search firm so this is showing properly,but for the home page it has a,so it has the extra name which i don't,requ wanted so just,select it and just remove it okay,just remove it,so just remove it and click on save,so now if i come back to my home page,and let me refresh again,let me refresh it again so it may,sometimes for the cash issue it may show,you sometimes the wrong thing so let me,go to open a new,browser,which is,firefox,without the cache okay so let me open,here so you can see now it is showing,properly,now it is showing properly no extra the,amazon search firm is showing anymore in,that tab,and also please do smash that like,button subscribe to the channel so it,reached to the more people in the,youtube so if you are seeing,the same thing again in your store,please do,refresh your cash or check it in a new,browser because it is already working,but for the cash issue it may sometimes,show you show you the old result again,so for that case do,check that out but if that still did not,solve your problem you may you may be,using an,shopify for your seo so do check that,inside your shopify app okay so if you,are not using any uh seo app for shopify,this will solve the issue but if you are,using any now you can see there is no,extra amazon search firm which was,before now i can only only i am seeing,the store name that i wanted to,see in my,home page so this is the issue with home,page okay,so,just go to online online store and then,go to preference and change this,homepage title,or if you want to add,the same thing just like the about page,you can see for other pages you will see,the page name with the,stone name but for whom we don't want it,it we just wanted the stone name but if,you wanted that the whom that ip search,form to be showed or your restaurant,name it you showed you can add that home,in the title but if you don't want,anything just like that then this will,be okay that you
