no way that's a lot of features included,in a theme,what's the catch,hi i'm jonah and today we're going to,take a look at a shopify theme called,mini mog and this is my honest review,full disclosure though the theme,developer did reach out to me for this,review but that does not affect my point,of view in the features that this theme,gives to you so let's take a look at,this,so the first step is installing the fox,kit app which is available on their,website at,minimug.co,the instructions that are laid out here,are easy to follow,and what it does is it will install an,app on your store that helps manage the,theme and its features,so if you like you can go ahead and try,that out,so let's switch over to my shopify store,to take a further look at this,the first thing we're going to take a,look at is the theme templates that are,available through the fox kit app and,we're going to click install demo here,to see those,they have provided a wide variety of,options and professional templates that,fit different niche,keep in mind that these are for,inspiration and you can definitely,change them out i'm going to preview,this one here by clicking the eye icon,by previewing them you get a better idea,of how everything looks or possibly,could look if you decided to follow a,similar format,keep in mind that you will be changing,this out with your own products and for,your own brand,as you can see here we're seeing other,features being highlighted so we can get,a better idea what this theme provides,i'm going to click install,and see what it does so you can install,these temporarily for trial but you,cannot publish them,which is an awesome thing to have,available so that you can try this out,so we're going to click view theme and,take a look at what customization,options are available within one of,these themes,so we're going to go,scroll on down here and click the,customize button,and the great news is this supports the,online store 2.0 which has sections,everywhere so you have a great,variety of options for changing this out,to fit your brand so i'm going to click,over to a products template to take a,look further,and here within the products template,there are additional blocks,and sections that i can use,to change this out even further,so far this is looking really good it's,giving me a lot of choices and freedom,in how i want this theme to look,so the next thing i want to take a look,at is the upsell app options that are,available within the fox kit app,as you can see here they give you some,really good tools like product bundle,quality discounts pre-purchase and cart,and related products all these present,great opportunities at the product level,for increasing sales which is awesome,next is boost conversions,now with boost conversions they can,increase more opportunity for sales on,your store depending on your brand so,there's a free shipping goal,countdown tools,sales notifications,lucky wheel,pop-up size chart and facebook chat,while all of these are rea

hey guys thanks for tuning in,got my face covered there um i'm kristen,mark i'm the owner and founder of a,multi-award-winning shopify growth,agency called kristen mark digital,established back in 2010 and today i'm,going to discuss with you,what i believe is the best shopify theme,in the world for seo not only shopify,but shopify os 2.0 theme so i'm going to,give you a bit of background first if,you'd like to jump onto google with me,and type in,seo,issues shopify,shopify technically has five fundamental,flaws when it comes to seo,so basically if um if you google that,you'll see my article number one they're,there about all over the world in,english-speaking languages and english,speaking search engines and the five,fundamental flaws with shopify,are basically um you can't access the,robot text file although very until very,recently you can actually now access it,and edit it although my advice if you,don't know what you're doing,um it would be to leave that alone so um,typically you couldn't access the robot,text file and you've got a dictator to,hierarchical structure so you can't,build the perfect hierarchical structure,for a website the way you would,do it to perfection in terms of passing,on link equity distribution like a,champagne fountain a wedding every site,site in the world should be like a,champagne fountain um at a wedding,you've got your homepage your collection,pages your sub collection pages and then,your product pages with shopify you,don't have that third row of glasses you,only have the home page,the collection pages and product pages,so so that's basically it so you can,read a bit more about it here the third,uh most common issues are,mass duplications of root collection,pages with product filter apps so,shopify typically dynamically produces,filter pages and you can't access,those filter pages to go in and optimize,them unless you're using our shopify aap,product filters and um,ultimately what that does is um the vast,majority 99 of the good product filter,apps out there,block filter pages from the search,engines because house is the only filter,tech in the world which can actually,optimize the six key fundamental,elements but again that's for another,video,another issue is you can't probably,uh which order have i got it in yeah um,third-party apps every time you add a,piece of code or an app or a piece of,javascript to your website it typically,slows it down,our page our themes typically load well,the fastest at the minute is 580,milliseconds,and we've put everything into a theme,that we know,that you guys need to get up and running,to upgrade,to improve your performance in the,search engine so third-party app,installations every time you add an app,it has,mass implications of your technical,alignment with google's,quality guidelines non-ranking factors,etc etc and um in relation to i think i,missed one i think there's another one,here in terms of images image,optimization yeah you can't typically,optimize the image to perfe

How To Create Sub Collections in Shopify 2.0 - Start Doing This Now!

for a long time it was difficult to,create sub-collections in shopify in the,old shopify that is it's gotten a lot,easier in shopify 2.0 and i think that,now is the perfect time to jump on this,opportunity and to actually create,sub-collections and main collection,pages in your shopify store there are,some benefits to doing this mainly,seo so google's algorithm likes to see,clusters of content right it likes to,see groupings of content so whether it's,like blog categories and then blog posts,in that category for you as a store,owner it's products and then categories,of products and then more general parent,categories of products so the reason,that it was difficult in the old shopify,to create sub collections,is because in shopify we don't have,really any concept of sub collections,all collections are kind of the same,level they're all equal so it was kind,of difficult to do you could of course,like on turbo theme,you could have a mega menu with headings,and under those headings you could list,your collections and so that kind of,gives that effect of having sub,collections,right but you still you didn't have a,page for this parent collection the,parent collection,on this theme for example just lists,products it does not list,actual sub collections and if you wanted,to create sub collections like this on,an older shopify theme there were,different tricky ways to do it in,various themes sometimes you would,create a navigation list as in the same,thing that you would do for a menu and,then some themes let you output those,navigation lists as sub collections on a,page on other themes you had to copy and,paste code to do that anyway,all of that is in the past now if you're,on shopify 2.0 because nowadays all you,have to do is create a new template,and then add a section to that template,and then you can duplicate your template,for every main collection page that you,want to create if that sounds a bit,confusing i'm going to walk you through,it right now so i'm going to go off,camera right now and i'll show you how,it works alright guys here we are in my,development store,and the first thing that i want to,clarify that i think is quite important,is that there is a default collection,listing page in shopify you can access,it by going to your shopify url and then,slash collections,this is one of the default pages in,shopify you cannot delete it,you cannot change this url the slash,collections page,lists all your collections,and it will always be there you can edit,that page by,choosing the collections list template,and your theme might have some settings,that you can change on this page so what,i talk about when i say sub collections,is not this page,what i'm talking about is say having a,boys collection right and inside that,collection to have boys pants boys,shirts and boys shorts right and we,don't want to display,girls collections or any other,collections another thing that i just,want to remind you of is that there is,no such thing as different colle
