hi,this is june from pagefly in this video,i'm going to show you a detailed review,of the shopify,minimal theme key features to help you,create a simple,but responsive web design for your,online store,the shopify minimum theme is one of the,most popular themes,on shopify because of its clutter-free,and friendly web layout so if you are a,minimalist,perhaps minimal is the proper theme,choice,for your online store and now,without further ado let's dig deeper to,learn more about the theme,features,as you can see here this is the shopify,editor board,for the home page i already chose the,minimal theme,to customize my three-part store here,if you want to know how to set up a,shopify store with a shopify,theme you can watch our shopify 14 day,free trial tutorial video,with the link in the description box,below,now let's look at the home page features,here,there are two key features that shopify,minimal,offer you for the home page which are,the slideshow,and the home page video for the,slideshow,you can add and showcase many aesthetic,product images with captivating heading,and cda buttons to attract visitors,when they are landing on your site,you can add the image here,change the heading text here,and add the button that link to a,product page,or a bus page for example,the video part here i already added the,video sections,to show my three part product video,if you want to have your stunning video,displayed on the home page,you can click on add sections choose,video and then add,but you should pay attention to the,video type here,at the moment you can just insert video,link from youtube or,vmware with this minimal theme,now let's take a look at the general,features,that all shopify themes also have,the featured collections right under the,slideshow is great,because you can help people learn about,a wide range of your products right in,front,of the homepage you can choose to show,three or four products of your,collection,or add more rows if you have a great,number of,products in your collections,next are some of the tags and image,sections,where you can get a visual storytelling,about your business,add more buttons to link people to other,pages,to help them learn more about your,products and your store,there's also a map section here very,suitable for sellers who both sell,online and have,a physical store you can add your store,address,linked with the locations on google maps,to inform people about your offline,store,if they want to stop by for the last,thing,there there's an interesting part about,the header here,you can get a drop down menu when you,have many pages,or collections to create it,you click on the header section here,click on,edit menu then add,menu items,now you can see i have the main menu,collection,and i want this winter and summer to be,the sub menus,under this collection what should i do,i'm going to click on this winter then,drag,and drop it under the collection,and it will look like this,and i'm doing the same with the summer,menu,

hi guys so the video you're about to,watch is actually a clip taken from one,of my recent videos in which i gave sort,of an overview and my review of every,single free shopify theme on shopify's,theme store so if you guys are just,first right now getting started choosing,a theme for your shopify store,i'd recommend you guys go check out that,video it gives a pretty good overview of,what the different pros and cons of each,theme is and like what your choices are,as far as themes go so i'll leave a link,to that down in the description of this,video,and i'll also link to it at the end of,this video but uh without further ado,let's just get started with this theme,review,alright guys so the next theme that i,want to review is the minimal theme so,minimal i think uh you know it's a,fairly popular theme,you can see that they say it's a simple,clean design that keeps the focus on,your products,you know i think there's an emphasis on,simple with this theme in my opinion,it's a little too simple uh and we're,gonna get into that a little bit as we,as we look at the demo and whatnot this,stuff is all pretty standard for most,shopify themes um if we go to the,reviews you can see there's 96 reviews,there's decent number of people using it,and um 82 of the reviews are positive we,go ahead and view a demo store for it,basically it has an alert banner up here,um that has the card in the search here,um,we've got our header here it looks like,this might be a transparent header um,you can see it's just a very simplistic,theme right like we've got our um sort,of slideshow here,uh you know your products this is just a,featured collection this is like some uh,featured uh blog posts or whatever,and um this is just a featured product,here so you can see it's it's fairly,simplistic um if we go and look at the,different theme styles,very similar um,you know these are once again just uh,now we have featured collections i,believe this is a featured collection,but you can see that it's just very,simplistic uh this does have a hover,drop down on this version of the theme,one of the other things that i want you,guys to know is like if you go into the,reviews,and and you're like you know you see,their demo sites um,and they're not doing it for you like,like you know because obviously they're,gonna set up their demo sites to look,really really nice for each theme you,know what you can do is if you want to,see how like other people have,implemented these you can look in the,reviews and a lot of times people will,either post,their um their url will be in the title,like this one this gift favs dot store,here or the url will be down in the,review so we're on my demo store now and,i'm just going to take a look at,all the different sections you can add,to the home page so if we go ahead and,customize our home page,you can see that we can add custom html,it's great,i like themes that have that,blog posts um collection lists featured,collections gallery you know this stuff,is all very s

How to add a second footer menu to Minimal Shopify theme
How to add a second footer menu to Minimal Shopify theme
in this video I'm going to show you how,to add a second linked list here in the,footer of the minimal theme in Shopify,so instead of the blog post widget here,we're going to show another linked list,like the Quick Links menu here so to do,this first go to your Shopify theme,editor for the minimal theme and then in,themed liquid you're going to scroll,down to the section here it should be on,or around line 165 or so or says begin,footer and you'll see this code right,here is all what makes up the blog posts,you'll see this commented out code says,begin layeth blog post and n latest blog,post well we want to completely comment,out that code so it's not going to show,up so we'll do is we'll just backspace,the closing comment code so now all of,this text is grayed out and that what,that means is it's commented out so it's,not going to show up so then if we save,the code and we refresh the page we'll,see that the blog post here no longer,shows up so now we need to figure out,how to add a second column of links,right there so to do that we're just,going to grab this next bit of code here,that says begin footer navigation down,through where it says n footer,navigation and we're going to copy that,and then paste it below so now we have,the two sets of identical code so what,this would actually do is show the same,menu twice it would show the Quick Links,menu twice so what we're going to do is,basically change one of them to show a,different menu so what you can actually,do is go to your navigation tab,and we've got a main menu and a footer,menu and right now our Quick Links menu,is showing the main menu so we're gonna,show the footer menu as the second,column and so you need to go to edit,link list and you'll see that the handle,of this menu is footer if you're using a,different link list then you'll just,need the handle from whichever link list,that is then you'll go back to your,template editor here and for the second,column we're going to change where it,says right here for link in linked lists,bracket settings dot footer and so on,and we're going to remove everything,inside those brackets and make sure not,to delete that period there so and,everything settings dot footer,underscore linked list and the brackets,on either side your going to delete that,then you're gonna add a period and,you're gonna add the word footer so,whatever the handle is for the linked,list that you want to use just go ahead,and put that in there so because the,handle of our footer link list is footer,that's what we put in here and let's go,ahead and save and see if I work,okay so that did work we now have the,photo menu showing up right here so what,you want the way that you would change,the title from Quick Links to something,else is you would just go back to your,template editor and remove everything,that's included here as settings dot,footer link list title remove that again,making sure not to delete anything in,the h4 tags there and then just put,whatever title you want th

hello people are you having trouble with,your minimum,theme you want to change the background,well i have the answer,finally i haven't seen this at all,on youtube i want to be able to help you,guys out who are using the free themes,on shopify,by making um,videos tutorial videos on how to code up,certain things for each of these,because if it's not on youtube that,maybe i should be on youtube i don't,know um but um yeah guys,let's get into the video i'm not gonna,waste too much time so what we're doing,is we're on our shopify page and,we're gonna click online store under,online store we're gonna click themes um,i have the brooklyn setup but what i'm,going to do is publish the minimal,theme i might have this already done,i'm i don't have it done okay so it's on,a minimal theme,and what we're going to do is we just,all we do is publish the theme,so that it can be live and then we're,going to change the edit code,click actions change edit code and,there's only one file we need to use,here first,we need to we can close this template,one,but first we need to add our image file,so you know what i used the banana image,in another video i'm gonna use it in,this one as my background,it's gonna look very stupid,but we're gonna do it anyway because why,not so i'm uploading my,my banana image upload asset,and if you missed that and you're,wondering why didn't he explain it,i say it in all my videos just go to add,a new asset,click on it choose file add in your,image,and then upload asset and you're all,good,and then your image should be on the,side so mine is banana.jpg,so we're going back to this file this,file,is theme.scss.liquid,let me scroll out just in case you're on,mobile but it's theme.scss.liquid you're,going to click on that,and it's going to pop up like this and,here,you're going to take you're going to,scroll all the way to the bottom,all the way until you can't see no more,and we're going to click,right below password page mini enter our,main enter sorry,we're going to click below that you can,do a couple enters if you want,and we're going to copy and paste the,code that's in the description,so paste,and for this we're going to change,flower.jpg to banana,because that's the name of our file,banana.jpg,and if your file name is king arthur and,you would just,type it the same way you see it on the,side that's literally it,if there's dashes in it put the dash,but mine is just banana.jpg i like to,keep it one word so it's easier to type,and there's no,random errors that pop up so do that,then click save at the top,and then go to your live url and refresh,it,and the background should change the,bananas so,this is our weird looking website,banana background on a minimal theme i,know a lot of you guys been having,issues with this you guys been wanting,to do this for a while,it took me a while to find the answers,but i have it in this is how you do it,and from here what's going on uh,okay so another way you can do this,because maybe you don't feel like,u

this is kevin king with pinehurst,websites and today i'm going to show you,how to use the sections feature in,Shopify on the minimal scene to create a,page of custom collections so you may at,some times want to create multiple pages,of custom collections and I'll show you,how to do that as well by creating a,custom page template and then also,creating a section for that as well so,let's go ahead and take a look at,development store I'm gonna post the,code for this on my blog and I recently,did one for the debut theme and within,that I posted in blue below the video I,posted the code that you need for the,sections and for the for the temp page,template as well so you can check out my,blog and that's where I'll post it I may,post a link to it in tutorials as well,so anyway if you don't have Shopify yet,and you want to follow along you can go,and start a free trial on Shopify by,going to a painters website so I just,click on this link right here and you,can have a free trial with Shopify and,follow along here so let's go ahead and,get started let's go to a development,store that I have and this is the home,page for the development store I've just,set up some product on this and we'll,take a look real quick at the home page,for this so if you go to online store,within your Shopify admin and you go to,customize theme you have the ability to,move,ten around because of the new sections,feature in Shopify so you may want to,move the text to the top all of these,are movable blocks and you can really,customize what you're putting in here if,you want to go and edit this you can,change whether they're slides or what,content you had in here and you can,create multiple slides so it's really a,great way to have a drop drag and drop,functionality or drag and drop,environment on your website so if you,want to add a new section you just go,and you have all of these that are built,into this particular theme and each,theme has different functionality to it,but this is one of the free themes with,Shopify and that's why I was just,previewing it on this theme so what I've,done is I've taken some code that,Shopify is already created and this,theme so that we can create our custom,page of collections but let's just show,you how you can create a page of,collections by default so the easiest,way to do that is to link it to a menu,so let's go ahead and just take a look,at the menus in here and that would be,under online store navigation and we're,just going to go to the main menu and,we're going to create a new item called,collections,so in order to create custom collections,we simply connect it to all collections,and then we're going to go in and edit,this now initially what this will do by,default is it will create a page with,all the collections that you have on,your store but you may have some,collections that are somewhat repetitive,and you may want not want to show all,those collections so you can go in and,customize this so save that menu and you,can name this anythi
