What Is The Best Shopify Luxury Theme | Are Paid Themes Worth It?
there are loads of videos on here about, creating websites using shopify and i,wanted to add my,video to the vast amount of videos on,youtube about creating a website on a,shopify i,host my clothing brand website on,shopify i moved from squarespace back in,2019 so prior to 2019 i was using, squarespace to host my website and then,i came across shopify everybody was, raving on about it and i thought i need,to jump on shopify jim shark uses, shopify kylie jenner uses shopify, apparently so i had to jump on it i,realized i haven't introduced myself my,name is teddy g hey i run a clothing, brand called shawashawa and here on,youtube i like to drop tips trick gems, and all that good stuff when it comes to,your clothing brand business i do get, this question a lot and the question is,like how did you make your website i,don't want to pay anyone to make my,website so in this video i'm just going,to go through like basics about like, website design my website and the theme, that i use and all that kind of stuff, the apps that i use and then later on,hopefully i will then create a video as,to how exactly you can make a website, using shopify i do have my clothing, brand starter kit coming out you can, sign up for it down below that is gonna,go into a lot of depth as to how to,create a website so on shopify i am on,the basic plan i feel like when i signed,up to shopify they didn't actually have, like prices in pounds so in dollars i,paid 29,a month and it fluctuates in pounds, because of you know the exchange rate so,there's no like solid pound price i,built my website myself i learned, watching tutorials on youtube along with, just actually getting on with it i learn,by doing i'm a doing learner so that's,basically how i built my website prior,to building my current website i have, used various other free themes on,shopify along with the shopify experts,to help bring my website to a website, that i wanted it to be before i then, paid for the theme that i use now but,i'm gonna get into that in a second i,did use like the brooklyn theme i used, another theme i'll pop their name up on,the screen and here i had to seek the, help of the shopify expert to change, certain elements on the website to make,it my own so they'll go in the back end,and do some of the coding i remember, just changing so that when you hover on,an image it alternates to another image, what i discovered is that if you pay for,a theme on shopify there's a lot more, functionality when it comes to the, website how your website like appears, things like adding video you can add on,paid themes i'm not sure whether you can,do it on the free things at the moment, but i know when i was creating my,website using a free theme i couldn't,add a video onto like the product, pictures part you can add it in the, description but you couldn't add it like, when you're flicking through the product, photos so i use a theme called prestige, and i love it it's absolutely perfect, for me i barely had to change anything, like even the font matches

How To Start A Shopify Store In The UK 2022 | ENTREPRENEUR LIFE
as a small business owner there is no,better feeling than hearing that, sound go off as you go about your day, because you know someone just landed on,your website and bought from you however, having a great product a huge following, and a pr feature means absolutely, nothing if you have a bad website in,this video i'll be showing you how to,avoid missing out on sales by setting up,a successful shopify store if you are,new here my name is shannon and i am the, founder of the product business oh so,curly and i share a bunch of business, tips on my channel three years ago i,switched my online store to shopify and,i saw a huge difference in my sales, hitting my first five figure month which,is what i want for all of you guys who,are watching this video big energy, big business so let's just head into my,screen so i can show you guys how easy,it is to set up your shopify store and,get selling today so first you will want,to sign up for a free trial of shopify, which gives you two weeks so 14 days of,time to really just test out the, platform look at the back end and all of,that good stuff i've created a fake, brand it is called body oddie by shan it,was the first thing that came to my head, don't ask why and what we're going to do,is just start up a store from scratch, the first thing you want to do obviously,is get yourself a name you're going to,have your brand name you're going to,have a logo hopefully but if you don't,i am just going to show you quickly how,you can do that so first of all you're,going to want to come up with a name so,mine was body od by shan, and what it will do is it will show a it,will create a domain name for you so,bodyodybyshan.myshopify.com,which is fine if you are just starting, out and you're starting really small and,you don't mind just testing out things, but if you do want to invest and make, things look a bit more professional i,would recommend going to godaddy.com,and finding yourself a professional, domain so that just means you're paying, per year to have bodyodybyshan.com,or dot net or dot co dot uk now you can, also use canva, for a logo so i just simply went to,canva.com it is free i use canva for all,of my instagram graphics pretty much, most of the things that i do my uk curly, girl logo is just a template from canva,so i thought why not go into canva and, create a fake logo now because when we,create our store we're going to want to,have a nice logo this one is just a body,so i thought it would make sense so i'm,just going to say,i might do a different font,i shan, this is so basic but you know obviously, play around with it how you want it to,look yeah we're just gonna go with that,i don't know, let's just go with that we now have a,logo now we're gonna this is the back, end of shopify when you log into shopify,on your desktop this is what you're,going to see,and typically this is where your, analytics are and this is where your, orders are but because we haven't got, anything it's just pretty much plain for,now and then it's going to giv

Shopify Tutorial: Hiding a Long Description in Collapsible Accordion (on free themes)
Shopify Tutorial: Hiding a Long Description in Collapsible Accordion (on free themes)
hello guys today i'm doing a requested, video but i hope that this is going to,be helpful to a lot of people this is,for anyone that has a really long, product description right and it's,pushing the rest of the page down and, people need to you know really scroll,to kind of see more information about, the product it's even worse if your, description is up above your buttons, and then people don't actually see your, add to cart buttons and your quantity, field and stuff like that right so,you may want to somehow, contain this entire description, inside something like a collapsible row,an accordion a toggle drop down whatever, you want to call this kind of interface, you click it and it opens up your, description but when it's closed it,doesn't take up space,i'll also show you,a couple of different options for, example if you want a little bit of,preview text so if you want like a short, description here right, and then you want a read more, with the rest of your description,um then i'll show you how to do that as,well and i actually think that this is a,much nicer solution than simply this in,case you're wondering no i'm not talking, about just using the collapsible row, blocks because, this is very limited obviously you can't,put like this wasn't intended for a lot,of text and in this all you can do is,like bold and italic i am actually, talking about the main product, description, about this field and wrapping the output,in a collapsible row like this or,actually splitting it so as you can see, this first sentence from here,is the first sentence here, and then the rest of it starts from, lowdom altera, and this is a london altera here so,actually splitting it here in between, these paragraphs so that it outputs in,two different places, showing you how to do all of that oh and,i almost forgot to mention but you are, going to be able to set this classical, description,as uh enabled or disabled on a per, product basis so if some products have, short descriptions and you don't want, the collapsible accordion at all, then this will be false by default, actually, and to turn it on you will have to click, true right and this is using meta fields,so if you're interested,in one of the features of shopify 2.0,which is meta fields and this will also,be a small introduction to using emitter, field,in a real life scenario i'm going to be,using, dawn right you'll be able to follow this, tutorial exactly if you're using dawn or,if you're using any of the free, shopify 2.0,themes right like dawn craft, crave sense all of these they have the, same code they have the same settings,if you're using a different theme from a,different company not from shopify then,i think you're still going to be able to,use this tutorial and kind of apply the, same concepts to another theme it might,be a bit more difficult but, many of these collapsible rows are built,in similar ways and what we're actually, going to be doing in this tutorial is,copying the code, that does these collapsible row blocks, and simply wrapping it aroun

Selling Low Content Books on Shopify - Shopify Tutorial How To Customize Shopify Theme
Selling Low Content Books on Shopify - Shopify Tutorial How To Customize Shopify Theme
in today's video i'm just going to be,going over some of the next steps that,i'm taking in building my shopify store, for selling low content books welcome to,my channel my name is caroline and if,you've been following along i have, recently done a couple of videos where,i'm building a shopify store to sell low, content books on just to give a really, quick background on this i,sell low content books on amazon kdp and, last year my account was accidentally, deleted and although i did get it back,it made me think about, having multiple streams of income and,not relying just on one platform just in,case just in case the worst happens, where for whatever reason,i or we cannot sell on amazon kdp, anymore so i've decided to set up a,standalone online store so i'm not going,to have, the, platform of kdp which already has,built-in customers for me to promote my,books to i'm going to be creating my own, shopify store where i'm going to have to,find customers myself but i'm excited, and i'm looking forward to the challenge,so so far i have done videos where i,show, setting up the shopify store and just, doing that back end admin, area setup, and then,my last video was how to connect shopify,to lulu which is the print on demand, supplier that i'm going to be using to,create and ship my low content books, and so now i'm just going to be doing, some customizing i installed my theme in,the last video too i used the debutify, theme just the free version, and so we're just going to go over, what i'm going to be doing to customize, the store, and, what i want it to look like so i have, basically already created a logo and i,just wanted to go for, sort of like a red romantic type of font, type of,theme color branding that sort of thing,in terms of a logo i generally just like, font logos i don't like anything too, complicated and anything that distracts, from, the name of the store i just personally, think you should just have your logo, very clear on what your store's called,so as to not confuse anybody about where, they are and so i've never used this, theme before,so i am sort of just finding my way,as i go and trying to figure out where, everything is,for, all the stuff that i want to,customize so i just head over to the app, which opens up in a new window so the, debutify theme is under the apps, section of shopify and then we can go to,theme library, just noticed there is an update, available so i'm just going to do that, first okay so i've updated the theme so,now i've got the most current version, and i've just clicked on the theme i've,just installed and i'm just going to,start customizing it now there's some, parts of this video i may not talk over,i might just record my screen and you,can watch what i'm doing because, like i say i haven't actually used this, thing before so i'm just going to be,doing a lot of clicking around trying to,figure out where everything is and try,to change the things i want to change,if i do anything and i'm not talking, about it as i'm doing it and you want to,ask me any qu

Should YOU Use Free Shopify Themes In 2018? [FREE VS PAID]
Should YOU Use Free Shopify Themes In 2018? [FREE VS PAID]
alright guys so is it useful or is it a,good decision to start your shopify, ecommerce business with a free theme, let's discuss it in this video and I,want to show you multiple themes now, that that I found in the in the theme, store and give you my opinion on what I,think about it so first of all it,becomes crystal clear that the majority,of themes out there are actually not, free so if I go to all themes right here, explore themes you will see that there, are ten free themes and fifty fifty six, paid themes and now if we filter by only, the free themes you see already that, there is a very limited style or the, very limited bread that you can bring, across so let's stick for with Brooklyn, for example many people use Brooklyn in,my opinion this is a good choice if you, want to evoke the impression of a high, quality brand of a more luxurious kind,of brand but the problem is with all, those free themes is that they have very, static and very limited functionality so,you see here you know it's tailor-made,for modern at Herald stores I agree I,used to Brooklyn myself and if we check,it you know it looks very clean but you, have very limited options what you can,do with it so yes it's this very simple, navigation bar then you have a few of,those tiles here and everything is very, static in a way right so every Brooklyn, store that I see except for those that, were custom they've developed where, someone made some changes to it look, pretty much exactly the same so you, always have these tiles and you have the, same product pages where normally the, text goes all the way down and all these, pictures are below each other and I'm,not saying that this is something bad in,general or that you cannot make any, sales with with free themes like,Brooklyn for example but the thing is,that if you want to bring across your, brand in the best possible way, especially if you have for example a,niche store and you probably want to add, some more content and you want to make, the whole store a little more exciting, this can sometimes be difficult with, those free static stores and,the reason is that you know sometimes it,is not only about having a product page, having the prices having some of these, scarcity apps etc it's also about, evoking a certain feeling in the, customer and also positioning your brand,as something that is worth buying and, this is why I believe when people say,you know the theme doesn't matter just, pop out something randomly and and just, throw your products on Facebook and get, started this is not really what I,recommend to do I believe that it makes,a lot of sense to take a look at your, store to take the time to develop it and,to build into something that people, would actually like to check out and, then buy from it in the end so if we,look at the paid themes now as I said I,want to I want to kind of want to,compare them if we also start looking at,the paid themes okay let's go back let's,go back and we if we look at the paid, themes though it becomes clear that you,can bring acros

eCommerce In UK - A Guide For Non-UK People. VAT Explained.
eCommerce In UK - A Guide For Non-UK People. VAT Explained.
hey what is up my name is rito and in,this video i'm going to talk about, how you can actually get started selling,in the uk,and i know that for the past like couple,of years, all the headlines have been mostly, around like exiting, the brexit and whatnot but i want to,break it down for you so that you, understand it in more simpler terms that,if you want to sell in the uk,then what should be your plan of action, ready, let's dive in all right so as your, business reaches a certain scale in the,u.s,it is recommended to not only like scale,in terms of scaling your ad spend but, there are, other ways to scale also just to give, you an example, let's say you're selling just on shopify, you want to scale to other, platforms such as amazon walmart sears, and start selling on those platforms and, start getting some more sales, let's say you have scaled on facebook, and now you want to scale on,other ad platforms like google pinterest, etc, and then when you've scaled let's say in,the us and you want to start scaling, even further, you want to like target different, geographies and what are those, geographies, places like canada australia uk,in this video i'm going to talk about uk,because that is something that i have, been pursuing for the past few weeks so,i have gotten to learn,a few things and i believe it's going to,help you a little bit now in the past if,you were drop shipping items to the uk,it was as simple as basically, getting an order from the uk giving that, address, adding it on to aliexpress and then the, chinese supplier would ship it directly,to the uk customer, and many times what would happen and, this happens quite frequently in both, europe as well as uk that the package, gets, held by customs and the customer has to,then pay customs fee on top of what they, paid you,it leads to a very like uh deceptive, kind of a pattern, and something that doesn't go well with, your brand if you want to keep selling, regularly in a particular country so if,you want to actually scale, and sell say hundreds of thousands of,dollars worth of stuff a year or maybe a,million or more per year,in a particular geography for example uk,then you want to be positioned in a much, better way, rather than have like complaints coming, all year long, like packages not coming package, impounded by customs, and i'm having to pay customs fee on top,of what i paid you all of that, hassle is not required so how do you, legitimize your operations in the uk so,there are two ways of looking at it,either, find a uk based supplier who already has, stock in the uk and then they ship, directly to your customers and that, would be pure drop shipping, but the uk based supplier has to be,based in the uk,so that they can directly ship to your, customers the, other option the second option is if you,are selling stuff on your own,in that case you're going to have to,give a uk,vat number to your say chinese supplier, who's going to ship the products to uk,and then a 3pl warehouse is going to,host those products in the uk,and ship to cust

Shopify VS Squarespace for artists 2022 - Which is Better?
Shopify VS Squarespace for artists 2022 - Which is Better?
shopify versus squarespace hi guys in,this video i'm going to be comparing, shopify and squarespace and we're going,to be determining which website is,better for artists so without wasting, any more of your time let's just jump, into the video first let's check out, shopify and after that we'll move on,with squarespace and then we'll compare, pricings with both of these two websites,so first up is shopify first let's just, sign up and see how it is so the signup, process for shopify is pretty easy all,you have to do is simply enter in your, email and click on start free trial, after that you'll basically have to,verify your email address and then once, you've done that you'll basically arrive,at this dashboard and just like that and, over here all you have to do is just, simply add your products you can, customize your theme so of your website,or choose a theme, and then add logos and colors and stuff, like that and then down below you can,add a domain, basically if you have a domain you can,add it or you can just go ahead with the, theme of store that, shopify provides and speaking of themes, let's go ahead and see a couple of them,so if you click on online stores on the, left side over here we'll see quite a,lot of options we'll have blog posts,we'll have pages navigations and domains, and preferences what we want to do is,check out themes so simply click on,themes and over here this is the current, theme that i have over here but we don't,need to look at that we need to look at,the theme library so over here this is,the theme library and over here we can,add a theme of ourselves so we can, connect github and we can get some, different themes as well or we can, upload the zip file for our own theme, but let's just check out the shopify, theme store so these over here are the, free themes click on explore free themes, and then over here these are all the, themes that are available to us for free,so there's a total of 81 themes 71 are, paid and then the rest of the 10 are, free so these are the 10 free themes, that we get over here and as you can see, they're pretty cool they get the job, done they aren't like really out there, like they're not super crazy but if we,check out the paid themes as well let's,get rid of the free themes like if we,check out the paid themes like they're,pretty cool as well like they're pretty, nice they're still not out there it's,they're still not super crazy but, they're still pretty good but,the bad thing about them is that they're,really really pricey like over here it's,250 dollars with this team this one, costs 220 dollars this one cost 180 this, one costs 280 like as you can see the, themes are pretty expensive so i guess, they're not really worth it so i would, suggest sticking with the free themes, for now so to apply a theme all you have,to do is just simply click on a theme, that you want and then just simply click,on try theme and then that is basically,it then the theme will be applied over,to your store as you can see it's adding,uh the theme on our
