hi there this is Tim from mile-high,themes comm we're the creators of the,Galleria theme this video is designed to,show you some of the features of the,theme and it also acts as a what's new,video for those of you who have used,Galleria or seen it in the past we've,just released version 2.0 of the theme,which has been completely redesigned,from the ground up every section every,page has been touched and improved and,there's lots of new options to explore,so let's jump right in and take a look,at what this theme has to offer so first,of all we've got three different demos,set up for this theme this one is called,Empire which is a large inventory tech,bags demo we also have boutique which is,a small to medium size fashion demo and,we have show room which again is a small,to medium size office furniture demo but,we think that pretty much any product,line will be look great with this theme,we just chose these three options but,the options really are limitless,whatever you need to sell whether you,have a really large inventory or you,have a really small inventory we think,this theme is a great option we hope,you'll consider it so let's take a look,at some of the sections that you have on,the home page first of all going back to,our empire demo you've got this really,unique column slideshow so research has,really come to say that slideshows on,home pages just really aren't all that,effective you basically have to sit,around on the home page for 30 seconds,let's say to see all the content of the,slide as it slowly goes from one to the,other and most people just aren't,willing to do that so you've got these,really large images and people just,don't stick around long enough to see,them so we came up with this idea of,this column slideshow that has the text,for all the slides visible and you can,just hover your mouse over the different,slides and see the image so we think,this is a really effective substitute,for traditional slideshows and this has,been a really popular feature of the,so you can set two three or four columns,of images here and they just change,seamlessly really beautiful transition,as you hover over them and there's some,different height options for this as,well lots of different text options and,link options so it's really a nice tool,continue down take a look this is our,featured collection section which has,been as I said everything's been totally,redesigned we've got some new options,for presenting your collections here,they can be shown as these circles they,can be shown as squares with rounded,rectangles we can show them as portrait,images there's lots of different ways to,present your collections here depending,on how you want it to look this is a,rich text section with an image you can,optionally add the image on the left or,right or you can just have a background,image if you want or just a background,color and you can add some text here,which is really great for SEO and just,to introduce what your brand is all,about got this gall

hey everybody sam webb here and i'm back,with part five,of my shopify theme build series today,i plan to do something a little bit,different,as you can see i've already built out a,basic navigation,using html and css i'm still going to,walk through,shopify's native navigation,functionality,and how you can add that to your site,more importantly though,i want to go a little deeper into,talking about liquid objects,and how you can use them for this,feature and for other features in the,future,to start off let's look at shopify's,liquid objects,documentation when you first land on the,object documentation,what you'll see is a little bit that,tells you about how,shopify objects work and some of the,kind of container objects that hold,sub-objects so in uh an example of that,is,all project all products so the all,products,object uh holds a bunch of products it,holds,20 unique products and basically,you would in your in your code you would,write all products,and then you could put the the handle of,a product,and then what that returns is a product,object,similar with articles you you saw me do,this with collections,as well earlier in the series on any,page,you can just write collections and then,you can pass in,a handle this just shows you a bunch of,different,kind of global objects that are always,available,one of these global objects is called,link lists,and this is what the navig this is the,feature that's being used by the,navigation,and you can see an example they show,four link in linked lists,categories dot links and then they have,some html here,to show you how you can display that,link,now again when you land on this page,we're looking if you look on the left,here we're looking at the objects,documentation we're not looking at all,of these sub-objects,we're just looking at the primary,objects documentation,which talks about all of the global,objects that are,across this that you can use on any page,of the site,yeah i just want to quickly hop in and,clarify something,when i'm talking about the objects there,there are no,primary objects and sub-objects right,everything that you see,on that left side of the screen all the,different objects those are just the,objects,and then you have global objects that,that their specific purpose is to allow,you to access,those other objects right so all pro all,products,is not like an object that you would,normally just use,it by itself you use it specifically to,gain access,to a product object so i just wanted to,clarify that really quickly,all right back to the video now there,are also,more specialized objects and some of the,in,and these objects can be accessed in,multiple ways but,let's take collections or collection for,example,so you've got this collections object,that has a bunch of collections,and you can pull a specific collection,with a handle like we discussed earlier,and what that returns is a collection,object,and so if we look over on the left side,here we'll see collection,singular on the left if w

foreign,hello everyone and thank you for joining,us here on shopified or Bob Shopify,YouTube channel,um today we're going to get into some,real helpful things to help you upgrade,your store all free free themes free,software and free apps so we're going to,get right into this and we are in the,back end or the admin part of Shopify,here right now currently I do have the,Brooklyn theme on the store just to show,you what it's looking like but we're,gonna go straight into the free themes,and see what's available so they do have,a lot of options to start off with for,free themes especially for someone who,doesn't know anything about web design,you're just beginning so it's definitely,a great start there's a lot of layouts,there's a lot of ways to choose a lot of,different factors but I just want to,explore some of the options here all,those are free these are key elements,you want to look at when you're looking,at themes in general they have three,options even with the free themes here,but the layout where your logo is,um where your menu bar is and how the,logo did change so don't Focus so much,on the products they're displaying for,these example stores just focus on how,the layout is how it's going to,communicate your message and how your,brand overall feels so I'm going to go,right into the Brooklyn theme right here,there's two options for the basic,Brooklyn theme there's classic and there,is playful so as you see the banner is,wider but we're going to go into the,actual App Store excuse me the theme,store and see how you can select other,options that includes paid themes as,well as free themes so if you scroll,right over here over collections then,there's drops Downs of how they have,separated or divided the themes in the,Shopify theme store based on food drink,and the industry this is my favorite one,to choose by category when you're first,starting off you know the industry so,it's that you're selling in so that's a,better way to shoes and I believe they,have designed these themes so that you,so it better exemplifies you know what,you're using or what your industry,excuse me but you can even see click,view demo store so this is of course a,Pay theme Prestige of course and at the,very very top you always want to look at,both the desktop view and the mobile,view but the very very first thing you,see is this Banner how it jumps out at,you how the layout is how the font is,these are key elements you want to look,at when you are choosing a theme,how some of the product options jump out,according to the category,um then of course you scroll down you,can see there is an option to add some,content some text that's very very,important,and here's your footer menu of course,we're gonna We're Not Gonna really get,into that but these are some key,elements that you want to have on your,Shopify store,so I'm gonna go ahead back to the menu,here excuse me the theme store but yeah,this was definitely a 250 theme so I,know it's kind of challenging sometimes,when you

no guts what's up guys welcome to,building a brand episode four,in the last week's episode I covered,part 1 of how to build an e-commerce,website using WordPress and WooCommerce,so in today's episode I'm gonna show you,guys part 1 of how you can build an,e-commerce website using Shopify so,let's go ahead and get started all right,if you decide you want to use Shopify,instead of WordPress head over to,Shopify site once the page loads enter,your e-mail address whichever one you,want to be associated with your Shopify,account and then click on get started go,ahead and setup your store name and your,password,and click on create your store now it's,going to ask you a couple questions so,go ahead and answer those,and then click Next fill out all this,info and then once you feel that all,that stuff out click on enter my store,at the bottom and then it will take you,to this page now right when you create,your store,Shopify is gonna give you a two-week,free trial to mess around with stuff see,if you like it if you do or if you know,you already want to stick around for,long in two weeks click on the selected,plan right here or maybe you just want,to check out the plans that they have to,offer so click on select a plan and you,can see that three different plans that,they offer once you've done checking,those out click back on home at the top,and then over here on the sidebar click,on online store and for now I'd go ahead,and click on free themes unless like I,said you know you want to stick around,past the two-week trial in which case I,won't even worry about the free themes,I'll just go ahead and click on visit,theme store and find a paid one you like,but for this episode we're just gonna,pretend that you're just interested in,the trial therefore you're gonna want a,free theme so click right here and then,check those out once you find something,you like,click on adventure alright and now it,will say right here you successfully,added which ever theme you picked in,this case it's venture so if you want to,customize it which obviously you're,gonna want to click on customize theme,and this is what your your website looks,like right now very basic very generic,obviously you're gonna have to add all,your own content you know add pictures,add your logo and eventually add your,products but for now this is what you,got go ahead and go to the Left sidebar,right here and click on homepage and you,will see that's what your homepage is,gonna look like for now so obviously,like I said you got to add the content,add some pictures you can mess around,with colors if you go up to the top,right here you can see what it looks,like I'm mobile,here's your menu little search bar so,yeah that's what you got right now it's,pretty similar to if you watched the,last episode what I showed you guys with,WordPress the free themes are really,bare-bones really minimalistic nothing,too special so just as was the case with,WordPress and I said you'll probably,want to opt for when the premi
