it's time to start thinking about,designing your websites from my main,menu I will click on design and that,brings me straight to theme editor now,the theme editor is where you can see,which theme do you currently have,installed over here and down below the,name of your theme you have theme,settings and theme editor now the,difference between these two is that the,theme settings is a very easy to use,interface that allows you to make,changes to the look of your store no,need to know any coding or any HTML over,on the left is for those people who do,know coding and HTML let's click on that,there's a big warning that pops up and,it says once you edit this themes code,your theme will no longer receive any,updates from the theme store we also,won't be able to offer technical support,I'd like to just reassure you this does,not void your access to technical,support what happens here is that we,wouldn't be able to troubleshoot any,problems that might be within the,designs coding if this was custom made,paid for or you did it yourself then we,wouldn't be able to help troubleshoot,where did the coding go wrong,if you did hire someone are you know,coding and you want to do this on your,own you can check off this box and hit,continue I'd also like to state that the,reason that we have to break the,relationship between you and the theme,store is so if you are doing your own,custom coding or you've paid someone for,it we don't want to push through an,update and then write over anything that,you've worked on so that's why we,offered this option so that we don't,push through updates and then get rid of,everything that you might have paid for,or worked on yourself let's cancel out,of that now the theme that you're,running determines a lot about your,websites maybe the theme that you,currently have installed that came with,the software is not the one that you,would like to keep before entering the,theme settings and showing you those,different features and functionalities,for this particular theme I'm going to,head over to the theme store,in the themed store you will find,hundreds of themes there are a lot of,different themes available that have,different features and functionalities,different outlines different outlooks,etc there is a filter right here but we,have only a few filters in here if you'd,like to get very specific if you know,really what you're looking for I'd like,to ask you to head over to Lightspeed HQ,comm and visit the e-commerce section in,there we've developed a tool that allows,you to just check off a few boxes to,pick and choose the features that you,really care about whether their design,features integrations etc for example,maybe you really care about having the,hamburger menu on your website you can,just check off the box saying that,that's something that you'd like and,then it will filter your results so that,you don't see all of the themes you will,only see the themes that have the,hamburger menu so keep in mind that,there are certain fu

hey there this is jamila at lightspeed,thanks for joining me in another,tutorial today we'll be doing a crash,course on how to design,lightspeed's new theme the ignite theme,let's get started,first things first log into your point,of sale and head over to your ecom back,office,little drop down ecom and it will load,in the same page,now that i'm in the ecom back office i'm,going to head over into design,when you open up design the first place,that you land is the theme editor,the theme editor shows you what theme do,you currently have installed,ignite is the theme that i have,installed i want to take just 20 seconds,to say,if you purchased lightspeed ecom either,on or before,january 27 2021 you might have an older,theme installed called,conform plus i'd like to strongly,suggest that you move over to our new,ignite theme,how do you do that just below the theme,editor there's the theme store,this is where you can go and install,other themes if ignite is not the theme,that you'll be using,but since this is a crash course on,ignite i'm going to search for ignite,and then you would install any of these,presets whichever one you prefer,it doesn't matter you would install the,theme,and once the theme is installed it'll,bring you right back to the theme editor,and show you your new theme inside of,this cube,this square now we will jump into edit,theme but first there's three little,things i want to throw your way,and the first thing is advanced when you,pop open advanced,you'll find custom css now if you have,knowledge with css,you can jump in there drop your coding,hit save and go and refresh your page to,see if those changes took effect,if the coding worked completely free you,can jump in there anytime,the other things that i wanted to,mention before giving you a tutorial on,how to use,the theme editor is the featured,products,and featured categories that we find in,the design menu now these two can go,hand in hand with the theme that you're,using to feature,certain categories or certain products,on your website,let's go select a few,now at the top right you'll find add,products,now i've got a shorter list than you,when it comes to products,i can you know barely even scroll here,so i'd like to show off filters,these will be your best friends when it,comes to limiting your results or only,getting the products that you want to,see,one of my favorite filters is currently,visible in store,is yes but if that's not enough,you can also add another filter perhaps,the brand,is equal to lightspeed,and now it's filtered,i'm going to remove one of my filters,simply to choose a few products here,i've chosen four products i'm going to,close this box,now i'm going to go choose three,featured categories,top right add category and let's choose,a few that we want to showcase,now that we've selected some featured,categories and featured products it's,time to dive into the theme editor,we'll click on theme editor again and on,the far right here,edit theme now once i click

I just wanted to take some of my extra,time and help some of my friends who ran,local businesses get their stores online,so today I'm going to be comparing,Lightspeed versus Shopify versus squares,online store and we're going to be doing,it just from the customers checkout,perspective all right so I've got a few,stores up here first we're going to,start with all of us which is a local,olive store and let's go through with an,order these folks are using Lightspeed,so let's choose some olive oil here,you,okay add that to the cart,and yeah let's just see what the,checkout experience is now so I can,enter my postal code,and I can pick up a at the local stores,that's good,nice to have that pickup option right,there update the turtle proceed to,checkout and this is usually where these,forms I find are difficult especially if,you're on a phone so before we move on,let's go through that same process on,mobile and see how it compares so here,we go here's the categories I'm going to,choose Olive Oyl I'm going to choose,this one here I want the 200 mils,reloads the page which is kind of weird,I had to scroll down again at the cart,go here I'm going to proceed to checkout,and this is what the form looks like,here,so let's autofill this,and here I can choose to pick up at the,Vernon store and now I can use my credit,card,okay,I guess I've got to click this as well,that's kind of,not great but,oh it looks like I missed,okay so they have this,they bring me back to this page I have,to put on my credit card number,and now I have to enter a security code,oh man,all right so now the purchase was,successful and I won't bother doing it,on the desktop because I think mobile is,the one that you want to optimize for,but overall I think not it was okay the,whole experience not terrible but a lot,of fields to fill out especially on,mobile and I think that could be when,you're picking up at a local store I,don't think you need to enter your,billing information there's a lot of,fields I think they could remove but,overall not too bad okay next up is my,friend Bryce's skateboard shop he runs,this on square which just bought Weebly,so this is technically a Weebly online,store he just launched it so this is a,little bit unfair but I'm gonna test it,out anyway so here on desktop if I want,a skateboard deck I go here I want his,shop deck so I'm gonna click on that I'm,going to choose this one right here,click Add,and oh it looks like I can choose pickup,or delivery let's do pickup done,let's go to checkout,and again I've got to enter my,information here let's actually now,switch to the mobile version and see,what this looks like there okay so here,it is on the phone which again probably,most of his customers are going to be,using so it makes sense to test it on,there,I've got skateboard decks we choose this,one here,going to choose that one Add to Cart,view cart,okay we're going to change the shipping,to pick up,that's a really nice feature I can even,request curbside let's go t

Right, so you are wondering why do you
see the Lightspeed instead of Shopify.,It's, because I'm going to show you the
way how to migrate from Lightspeed to,Shopify and in this tutorial we'll start
by products. So in Lightspeed I'm going,to the product section and I have, here,
some couple of sample products, I just,hit "Export Products" and then I go here
to view my exported products, then I,click "Download" and I have the file, here,
downloaded as products export. Now I need,to rename it, I need to add it to the
name Lightspeed, like this, so that it,becomes "lightspeed" and "products". So
those two words need to be in the file,name "lightspeed" and "products". ,Then I'm going to the Shopify
admin, the Matrixify (Excelify),app and here in the import section I
just drag and drop this file in the app.,And then I see that the app has
recognized this as a Lightspeed format,and it found two products here and, just
to make sure that my Shopify admin. Oops...,It has some products. Let's just delete
them so that it's empty and we see the,clean results of the migration. Yeah, so
it's empty now and, actually, for a normal,migration you would want to check your
converted file, instead of just like,importing it directly. So the Matrixify (Excelify)
offers this capability that you can do,the dry run, here, in the options, you can
select this check box and press the,import.
And what it will do, it will just convert,this file to the Matrixify (Excelify) template
file, which you can then review and edit,,clean the data and so on. So we download
this import results file here and when,we open it, we will see the usual excel
file template with all the columns, but,those come now from the Lightspeed, yeah.
There are all base columns: the images,,the collections... This one indicates
whether this is a top row or this,duplicated row like for variants there
are variants, yeah. Sadly, Lightspeed,doesn't distinguish the options in their
export file so, so we just have the,option "Option1 Name" and they give the
option title so you'll have to work with,that. You can, of course, update here in
the file all the... All the data, so that,they become relevant for your Shopify
store, but basically they will work,anyway
in without any changes, so you can verify,that there are right SKUs, the Barcodes,
the weight and so on. The price is very,important to check, that it's what you
need and the quantity as well. And so, and,here with those blue columns, you see,
there comes the "Variant Metafields". So,we are putting into the "Variant Metafields"
and into the product "Metafields",whatever fields that come from Lightspeed
that we don't have a specific,field in Shopify so that you can, anyway,
use them in your Shopify store,afterwards. So it's like this internal
variant ID the price unit, like the units,whatever, the taxes, and all the little
bitty tiny things, that might be,important, because no matter how tiny is

And this is a third video in the series
where I show you how to migrate from,Lightspeed to Shopify. And this third
video is about orders. How do you migrate,orders from Lightspeed to Shopify? And
here I have one sample order in my,Lightspeed fake store, obviously, because
I don't have the real one, especially in,Lightspeed. So we just press export
orders and choose to export everything,and we wait and it should be done... BAAAAM!
But let's go to the tools exports and,here it is. It shows that he has exported
and now we just press download and it,downloads this orders export file and in
order to for Matrixify (Excelify) before I to,understand that these are Lightspeed
orders, we just add the Lightspeed to,the file name so that the file has two
words at least in it - "Lightspeed" and,"orders". And then we go
to the Matrixify (Excelify) ,app in Shopify, obviously, and then we,click here to add the file. Choose this
file, allow it to upload and then it's,estimating and then it shows that it
found indeed the format is Lightspeed.,And it found one order in this file and
again as with all the other imports we,,we could press import right away and
import disorder, or we could do the dry,run which would generate the import
results file without importing and so,that we can review the file to clean up
the data, check that everything is ok and,only then upload that file the modified
converted file and import it, but for the,sake of example we just go the KAMIZKAZE way
and do the import straightaway.,Because it will fail, I know it will.
Yeah, so it failed and also in this case,we can just download the
results and check why did it fail. We,just opened the results file and here,
let's zoom in a bit, so here we have all,those fields that we can possibly get
out from the orders, faa file which,comes from Lightspeed any additional
details which didn't have any specific,place you will see in the additional
details of, of the orders and that comes,the customer information. All the, the
billing address, the shipping address, the,line items any more additional fields
that didn't have any specific place. The,transactions if, if the payment was made
so we will generate the transaction for,you. The fulfillment if the, if the
order was fulfilled will generate the,fulfillment for you and we will put all
the specific Lightspeed specific fields,which didn't have the place in the order
in the Shopify fields, will put them in,as orders metafields here in the
Lightspeed namespace, those are the meta,fields which you can also review later
and maybe use for some purpose, but here,in this case, because our order failed we
need to know why it failed. So we're,looking to the import comment field in a
column and here we see that the customer,phone is invalid so our customer doesn't
have a valid phone, because Shopify is,very strict it, validates emails and the
