- Hey guys, Sam here from keycommerce.com.,In this video, you're going to get,my ultimate launch checklist,for launching a Shopify e-commerce store.,These are things that you need to check,before you launch your e-commerce store on Shopify,to make sure it goes well.,I'll leave a link below this video,to the checklist that I go through in this video,,so you can go and access it yourself,and make sure that you check off every single point.,Number one, most important,,check your website functionality.,Go through your website, check it on your desktop,,on your phone, on multiple devices,,does it work on both narrow and wide screen devices?,With Google Chrome,,there's a feature that allows you,to test your e-commerce store on different device sizes,,it's really, really helpful.,It's really important,that you make sure your website looks good,on a mobile device, that it's mobile friendly.,What about cross browser compatibility?,I also recommend that you check your website on Safari,,Chrome, Firefox, even Internet Explorer,just to see what it looks like on these other browsers.,You wanna make sure that you check all the images,or the text, the fonts,,make sure the fonts are loading as well,,as well as make sure all the buttons are working.,That's also important too.,Make sure you double check the header links,and the footer links too,'cause these can sometimes break.,Okay, once you confirm that your website,,your e-commerce store is looking good,and it works on all these different browsers and devices,,the next thing you need to do,,is check your Shopify settings.,This means checking things like your business settings,,make sure that your customer service email,and your website admin email are correct.,And they're sending it to your email address.,Make sure that your store name your phone numbers,,your address, they're correct in Shopify,,as well as on your actual website.,You also wanna confirm your payment setup.,Make sure that your payment gateway is set up,,make sure it's working.,And if you also wanna set up other payment gateways,,like you wanna get PayPal installed,,make sure it's properly installed and working.,I then recommend checking your shipping settings,,go through those shipping settings,and just confirm that they're set up,to what's actually applicable for your store.,How do you actually ship your products?,And is that reflected in the settings?,And when someone buys, go through the checkout and test,does it actually work for their zip code,,their postcode, their location?,Another tip, if you're running Google Shopping campaigns,,is to make sure that your shipping settings in Shopify,,match your shipping settings in Google Merchant Center.,If you don't set this up properly,,you can actually get suspended,and it's a real pain in the butt to fix it.,Trust me, I know.,The last thing is your tax settings,and make sure this matches up the tax settings,for where you're selling to,,this is really important as well.,Okay, the next thing I'll do,

Shopify's New FREE Themes - are they any good?

shopify just released three new free,themes and they're really really good,and i want to talk about them if we,haven't met before i am shelley of,launch party i'm an e-commerce designer,and creator of shop school,hi these new free themes use shopify's,online store 2.0 which is their updated,and upgraded online store customizer it,has a lot of new features so if you,haven't checked out shopify in a while,you definitely want to see what's next,so let's take a tour of the themes,so here are the new themes sense craft,and crave dawn was released last summer,and i'm at the shopify theme store at,themes.shopify.com to see these themes,and i can easily just add any of them to,my shopify store right from here,so these themes all seem to have the,same functionalities and features it's,really just the starting off point,design wise so whichever feels the most,similar to your brand for instance if,you're looking for something more modern,then sense or dawn would be a good,starting point if you're looking for,something a little bit more handmade,feeling then craft is a great starting,point,and crave is geared towards restaurants,but any of them can be fit towards any,type of brand because all of your colors,and fonts and products and everything,will be able to be changed,so let's try out scents and see what,that's going to look like,so clicking sense and i'm going to click,try theme,and it's adding it to our store,and we can see sense being added to our,theme library,and now it's added so let's go to the,customizer,so i'm going to click customize,so this is what it looks like right out,of the box we have these kind of fun,yellow orange gradients happening,featured collection talk about your,brand so all of these different sections,are just our starting off point and we,don't have to keep any of them,so we can go and see everything that we,can change,over in theme settings,so we have all of these different color,options and i love that these gradients,are built in here now and you can select,your own gradient or adjust colors,or add new colors that's really a cool,feature now,and there's just a lot more choices with,these new online store 2.0 themes that,we can customize versus the old shopify,themes,so it's really exciting,and now just for fun i'm going to,customize sense creating a fictitious,store so you can see just how easy it is,to create your own unique store using,shopify's themes as a starting off point,and watch it come together super fast,so here's a time lapse so i'm condensing,about 20 minutes worth of work into a,minute and a half so you can see,everything come together,and i'm starting with the theme settings,which are the colors and the fonts so,i'm trying some different options here,and i put in a new logo and configured,the header a little bit differently,and then next working my way through the,actual sections on the home page so i,just styled out the image with text,section and then adding in some other,sections so i added in an image bann

How To Build A Coming Soon Page Before You Launch

hey guys i'm greta and in this video i'm,going to be going over everything that,you want to know about shopify themes,we're going to go through some tips and,we're going to go through some of the,best themes that you can be using this,year,so these are three things that i always,consider when i'm picking a shopify,theme so the first one is your product,range is it a,multi-product store or is it more a,single hero product store just because,it's going to affect the layout uh and,the overall conversion rate of the store,depending on which you end up going with,the second thing that i consider is the,niche of my store so from a design,perspective the same store won't always,suit electronics as it would suit,fashion for example so you want to have,a look again at the layout and make sure,that that layout is applicable to your,niche and the third thing and probably,the most important is prioritizing,conversion rate and so what i mean here,is like functionality over just design,so you want a theme that is fast,responsive fairly simple,and has an easy to navigate i guess like,interface so here are three shopify,themes that i would be using this year,and number one is debut and you cannot,look past this theme even though it is,kind of the most stock standard shopify,theme that is kind of where the beauty,of this theme lies as well because so,many stores use this same theme it,outperforms almost any other theme we,always try to introduce new themes or,custom coded themes uh,and we find that from a conversion rate,perspective they just do not compare to,debut so i really would not look any,further than this theme,until you're kind of at a point where,you can do enough a b testing and,conversion rate optimization to know,that your kind of like more design,orientated theme for example is,outperforming this theme so just to,really quickly show you guys through it,let's just hit view demo store while,it's really simple and straightforward,it's really really effective customers,are very used to using this theme as a,whole in fact one of our brands claytime,that's done over a million dollars in,revenue in its first few months of sales,uses this theme and while it's a really,simplistic sort of website as a whole it,converts so well,so as you can see,pretty straightforward,very straightforward very simple theme,but effective impressive,most impressive now we're gonna move on,to our dawn theme this is a theme by,shopify again so shopify,uh has designed this theme in the same,way it's designed debut says that it's,great for clothing and accessories,health and beauty home and gardens so,kind of like multi-sku stores so while,debut might have been better for kind of,a single sku store dawn is really really,great if you've got kind of like a,really broad product range so,let's view the demo store it's a really,clean sleek design definitely looks a,lot higher end as well so if maybe you,had kind of a higher perceived value,sort of product uh like especially yeah,of cour

How To Update Shopify Theme | Customization development Course
