Brooklyn Shopify Theme Honest Review (Should you use this theme?)

hey guys how's it going today I'm gonna,be looking at the Brooklyn Shopify theme,along with boundless and the debut scene,this is probably one of the most popular,Shopify deals out there and I recently,got a request to do this team as I've,done a lot of others and other Trump if,I AB so I just thought I'll take a look,at it and yeah let's just get into it,number one this is a clean and,professional theme it's elegant and it's,very simple it doesn't have a lot of,crazy features or cool things it's,simple and it's it's meant for apparel,but you can sell all kinds of products,so first let's just look at the theme,features listed here again it's designed,for a modern apparel store you can put a,slideshow in the header a dynamic,product grid slide out card homepage,video so I don't really like the slide,out card too much some people like it I,just don't like it's the personal,preference I like an actual card product,page but that's just me all themes on,the few store also include customizable,content SEO blah blah blah,okay so right now I just want to get,into the biggest drawback of the steam,or at least what people are saying and I,sort of agree with is that if there's an,update to the theme you're gonna have to,customize your theme from scratch so,that's something to pay attention to you,can read this review if you want I like,this team but there's always an updated,version of it this means that you have,to rebuild your site from scratch every,time the team editor yeah,so basically I mean you can see it here,it's pretty clear there should be a way,to update the themes without us having,to start all over on our websites that's,a pretty big drawback and I believe this,problem exists with all other Shopify,themes or it's not I don't know why it,would be for this team said Shopify,developed it but yeah just something to,pay attention to this is why I like,using premium themes with support and,stuff with these free themes you're,gonna have to develop your site from,scratch when there's an update something,to pay attention to all right here is a,sample website that Shopify develop,using the steam as you can see it's,clean here is the slideshow they were,talking about I don't really like the,slideshow too much I think it takes away,from like this call to action right here,the shop buttons but anyways the,featured collections,featured products let's go ahead and,take a look at the product page and I'll,show you some more info and some more,insight another thing is the product,images are displayed kind of you will,you have to scroll down to see them,that's another thing that I don't really,like I like you when there's one image,and there's a bunch of thumbnails and,there's arrows you can just kind of like,click through and see the different,things kind of like what's on amazon.com,but this is another way to do it here's,another example of a site using the,Brooklyn team I really like this site,actually I like this much better than,others this one I showed yo

now we're going to cover how you're,going to edit your theme in Shopify to,do that we're going to go to online,store and then we're going to go to,customize theme which brings us to work,theme editor the first thing I want to,point out is that one thing you'll want,to do once you get to your theme editor,is to check out the more options and,read documentation this is really great,for being able to understand maybe what,size images you should be using for your,theme it gives you a just a general,understanding of what your team is,capable of the next thing I want to,point out to you is the add section,button or the sections this is basically,what the layout of your storefront is,going to be especially the home page,alright so you have your header your,footer and between that you have all of,your content so right now I just have an,image with text section and a feature,collection section if you click on add,section you have the option to add image,with text you can add that to your theme,and then you're able to add an image,here and add some text beside it ok and,then you can add more sections let's say,I wanted to add something like some,testimonials from my customers all right,so that's exactly where this would go so,now that we know how to add sections to,our theme how do we get products to show,up on our homepage how did I get these,products to show up on my homepage,well these products is showing up on the,home page because this is the collection,that shows up on your home page alright,so you added a section called a featured,collection and then you selected I,selected sorry a collection that goes on,this page I could change this to the,home page collection and I would see,these products but this is how you get a,product to show up on your home page,ok so let's say I save my home page now,if I wanted to add a new product to my,store how would I get it to show up on,the home page,well the first thing is that I want to,make sure that I know what collection is,selected here okay and then we want to,go back to our collections so since,we've got the home page collection,already selected there we need to know,oh this is a manual collection great so,to get a product to show up in this,collection we need to manually add it to,our store okay so let's go to products,let me create a new product,so I've got something called the Dragons,- an artifact I don't have an image for,it yet but it I promise you it's really,cool so it's not a shirt it's let's call,it a bag okay and it's going to be,produced by my vendor delight because,it's a really cool guy now because it's,a manual collection what we can do is we,can just add it to that collection right,here okay so we leave that checked off,we give it a price one hundred and fifty,dollars this is not a cheap artifact you,know make sure that everything is good,there doesn't come in any sizes so I,don't need to add any variance and then,I can go ahead and save it now if I were,to view my own home for my home page I

hey what's up everybody today are,watching the live stream we're gonna be,reviewing the Shopify theme called a ax,e ll a this is the theme right here,let's just uh real quick take a look at,it in the preview site by the way link,in the description if you want to get,the theme I'm just gonna show you guys,all about the theme what you could do,and if you want to cop the theme go,ahead and copy link in the description,so first of all let's start off with the,price the fifty of the regular license,is $58 and then the extended license is,2800 but I just used the regular license,you could I use it as many times as I,want it's not gonna make a difference so,you got your logo on the top left,obviously it comes with like a top bar,for like a promotions top bar so if you,have like a sale going on or a promotion,they want to talk about they got that,right there in the top bar then you got,the contact us information now you guys,could always take this out if you wanted,to but um I keep it in usually the,contact information if it's a on the,store you could sort by the state or the,city for currencies so here it's like in,German we just clicked on the language,so let's switch it back to English so,it's back in English you got the titles,right there for the menu and you could,do mega menus which is basically like a,menu that comes with drop-down and,photos so that's called a mega menu you,could do sub type a sub sub menus shop,you let the shop going you got the blogs,the lookbook let's just click on the,lookbook let's see how that looks,so here it's like um some kind of,promotions also so like for example if,you got different collections you would,want to use that for look books now by,the way this a a theme is perfect for,any type of clothing so if you have if,you do,like a fashion brand or clothing brand,this is perfect for that you're probably,not gonna find a theme better for uh for,that kind of use so you got some,collections additional collections here,now keep in mind they design this theme,for the highest conversion as possible,so if you get the theme you don't be,messing around putting banners in places,they don't belong things like that I,mean you could if you want to but now I,don't recommend it so you have the,banner if you have some collections,right here you got some some products,they have the color swatches they have,the price they have the the title of the,product so that looks good it looks very,professional then you have another,banner here you might want to promote,something so shop the collection if you,have a certain collection then you have,trending now products you have some,blogs right here then you have some just,name brands or gallery of like where,it's been seen then you have the,Instagram feed you could view the whole,entire gallery we're not gonna go ahead,and do that and then you have some,titles let's just go into my actual,Shopify trial and let's look at it for,ourselves how I built it and how you can,edit it so far because I'm
