we're going on impulse,we're finally here right,one of the most popular Shopify themes I,think this one is one of them right I,think this one is one of them it we're,impulsively here that's what we're doing,right and uh I don't want to waste any,time let's talk about why are we,choosing impulse so impulse is a,beautiful theme,made by the folks of architect is that,what they called they're called,architect right,yeah this is just a beautiful theme,beautiful beautiful theme beautiful,theme from archetype I'm not sure if I'm,saying their name right so if you guys,are watching bear with me okay art type,themes archetype themes,fantastic investment,why should we invest in this specific,theme well aside from a decent price,point I don't think it's bad for the,value proposition that these guys give,compared to Turbo right you know turbo,is still a good theme but if I had to,measure against the two and you guys are,starting off there's a lot of things to,consider and I think impulse is a very,strong competitor compared to that look,at look at the things that it includes,especially for support it has a store,locator we're going to go over that in,this um tutorial we have,EU translations for many of those,countries out in Europe we have that we,have an age verifier so if you guys are,selling things such as alcohol or,something like that you need an age,verify you don't need to install an app,it already comes out of the box we have,a countdown timer we have a color swatch,these guys are constantly going on this,stuff and once you invest in this,particular uh theme they're always,updating you with things and that's,really the value it's not about wow,that's a big price ticket I don't know,if I should invest in that you're,investing in it now as well as the new,things that these people are going to,add into the theme,um very powerful for all types of,fashion business let's look at this,theme very very closely uh let's go,ahead and look at the demo,I love the presentation the presentation,is not a blink right it's something that,kind of like soft loads for you,it has a slider up in the beginning uh,we noticed that it has a beautiful Mega,menu right where it's horizontal,and we have uh different level of tiers,of menus we're going to go over that in,a few okay we have some images also to,share and then we have look at this we,have a very detailed Mega menu but then,on season notice how it's a more,simplistic type form of a mega menu then,after that we have singular click menus,here that's fine uh we have double look,at that did you guys notice that,let's see if we go over here notice how,when I hover over the buttons we have,those button effects we have the counter,so this is actually good that little,counter is good for like Black Friday we,just went through a Black Friday big,deal uh with several of our clients I,think this is beautiful as well and oh,the banner is kind of is acting like a,little Parallax if you notice it kind of,like does this and then we ha

Shopify Guide | Creating Dynamic Product Stories in The Impulse Theme

hi i'm aaron merch from 2h media,in this video we're going to take a look,at how to create dynamic product stories,in the impulse theme on shopify if you,open up a preview of the impulse theme,and navigate to a product page you'll,see a section in the left hand,navigation titled product story,within this section you can add any,number of custom blocks to make the,product page a lot more engaging,by default the product story appears,across all products on your online store,at the end of this video you'll know how,to create unique product stories that,only appear on products with a specific,tag,in order to achieve this expanded,functionality we have to make a few,simple changes to the themes code files,so let's go ahead and edit the code in,the backend of shopify,from the shopify dashboard select online,store in the left-hand navigation,from the themes page select actions edit,code next to the impulse theme,before manually editing the code files,we highly recommend creating a backup of,the theme so you're not working on your,only copy,within the code editor you need to find,two specific theme files in the,left-hand navigation,go ahead and open up product.liquid,as well as productstorysections.liquid,the first thing you need to do is select,all of the code within,productstorysections.liquid,and copy it to the clipboard,next locate the sections folder in the,left hand navigation and click add a new,section,in the modal that appears enter a name,for your new section,we recommend naming it based on the tag,you're going to use to filter for this,section,as well as the word story,in this example we're going to call our,new section rubber duck story after,you've entered a name for your section,click the create section button and a,new file will appear in the editor,within the new file delete all of the,default content and paste in the content,we copied from the product story,sections file,scroll to the top of the file and locate,the line where it says product story on,line 5.,replace the words product story with a,new name for your section in this,example we're going to enter rubber duck,story,with your new section set up click the,save button in the top right hand corner,of the screen and then open up the,product.liquid file,this is where the fun begins on line two,of this file we're going to replace the,call to the product sections template,with a simple if statement that checks,for specific product tags,let's break down what each line of this,if statement means,in this example,we've entered if product dot tags,contains rubber duck story,rubber duck story is the name of the tag,we're going to use to determine which,products to display the story on,change that to whichever tag you would,like to use to call your product story,the next line where it says section,rubber duck story calls the custom,section we created earlier in this video,where we've entered rubber duck story,change this to whatever name you gave,your section earlier in the video,the last ne

how to edit swatches for collection filter on impulse theme for shopify

in this video i'm going to show you how,to um add the collection filter to the,impulse,theme it's kind of a pain in the oh you,know what so if you look at this when,you go to any of these collections,right and you have this filter by color,here it has really pretty swatches right,so in order to get these swatches to,show up correctly they have to be named,exactly as,they are,inside of the assets folder so in this,case if you look at this one's called,aquamarine well we ended up creating a,swatch,and uploading it into the assets folder,and how you get here,is you're going to go to your online,store,and then you go to actions and you go to,edit code,and then you are going to,wait for the load wait for it to load,and then we'll expand with this little,box right here and you scroll down,onto your assets section now you don't,uh you have to create these swatches in,photoshop right these are real tiny so,if you go ahead and in this case let's,go ahead and copy this one,and or you could create it in any other,photo program,but they are,50 by 50 pixels so,um i'm just going to show you this other,so in photoshop what i did here is like,you go to new,and i'll make a another swatch and i'll,paste this there's my purple so if i,look at the actual size of this,it's 50 by 50 pixels okay,so i want to call that when i save it,as a png file,it's going to be called,amethyst.png,right so amethyst.png,so now i'm going to go ahead and um say,i didn't create that i just saved it on,my computer go to add new asset i'll,choose my file and then in this case i,have white gold plenty but i'm not going,to upload that so say that was amethyst,it would upload it and it would put it,right here,in the list for me so for every swatch,that you have,make sure they're named correctly and if,this watch has multiple names you're,going to want to make sure there's a,hyphen between it and not an underscore,so if you look in here,it's probably here you go cyan ruby,underscore so that's not going to work,with the underscore,so you have to have a hyphen in there so,this thing's kind of weird this way so,now if we go back,and we look at this,uh website you'll see here are the,swatches and then the swatches are,showing up here right because they're,named accordingly now under these,products,if you look at this product so we have,choose your color,so in this case it's called white gold,plated rose gold plated so i have to,make sure that i have swatches that are,called exactly the same thing,white gold plated rose gold plated so if,i go and i look at my assets folder i,went ahead and created those already so,i have,uh white gold plated notice there's,hyphen hyphen right and then you have,red i think i've got one in here yeah,now so rose gold plug is that one let's,see,so yeah yeah rose gold plated so they,put the tag in here red gold pleated,which is incorrect so this needs to have,a tag,of whatever these colors are here,excuse me,whatever the tag of these colors are,here right white gold pla
