how to edit swatches for collection filter on impulse theme for shopify

in this video i'm going to show you how,to um add the collection filter to the,impulse,theme it's kind of a pain in the oh you,know what so if you look at this when,you go to any of these collections,right and you have this filter by color,here it has really pretty swatches right,so in order to get these swatches to,show up correctly they have to be named,exactly as,they are,inside of the assets folder so in this,case if you look at this one's called,aquamarine well we ended up creating a,swatch,and uploading it into the assets folder,and how you get here,is you're going to go to your online,store,and then you go to actions and you go to,edit code,and then you are going to,wait for the load wait for it to load,and then we'll expand with this little,box right here and you scroll down,onto your assets section now you don't,uh you have to create these swatches in,photoshop right these are real tiny so,if you go ahead and in this case let's,go ahead and copy this one,and or you could create it in any other,photo program,but they are,50 by 50 pixels so,um i'm just going to show you this other,so in photoshop what i did here is like,you go to new,and i'll make a another swatch and i'll,paste this there's my purple so if i,look at the actual size of this,it's 50 by 50 pixels okay,so i want to call that when i save it,as a png file,it's going to be called,amethyst.png,right so amethyst.png,so now i'm going to go ahead and um say,i didn't create that i just saved it on,my computer go to add new asset i'll,choose my file and then in this case i,have white gold plenty but i'm not going,to upload that so say that was amethyst,it would upload it and it would put it,right here,in the list for me so for every swatch,that you have,make sure they're named correctly and if,this watch has multiple names you're,going to want to make sure there's a,hyphen between it and not an underscore,so if you look in here,it's probably here you go cyan ruby,underscore so that's not going to work,with the underscore,so you have to have a hyphen in there so,this thing's kind of weird this way so,now if we go back,and we look at this,uh website you'll see here are the,swatches and then the swatches are,showing up here right because they're,named accordingly now under these,products,if you look at this product so we have,choose your color,so in this case it's called white gold,plated rose gold plated so i have to,make sure that i have swatches that are,called exactly the same thing,white gold plated rose gold plated so if,i go and i look at my assets folder i,went ahead and created those already so,i have,uh white gold plated notice there's,hyphen hyphen right and then you have,red i think i've got one in here yeah,now so rose gold plug is that one let's,see,so yeah yeah rose gold plated so they,put the tag in here red gold pleated,which is incorrect so this needs to have,a tag,of whatever these colors are here,excuse me,whatever the tag of these colors are,here right white gold pla

hi haley buelon's uh,designs here i thought i would jump on,and do,a video on my shopify setup and,integration package,um i specialize in helping startups and,smes,create an online store for their,business and,what i do is the very first step in the,process is i get you to complete a web,design brief,and then we jump on a one-on-one,discovery session where i'll really work,with you on what your business,objectives are,what type of online store you're after,are you after you know a,subscription-based model online store,are you after a really big online store,with large volume of products and,categories,or are you after just a simple you know,10,product two category website and just,looking to get started,so what i do is i work with you through,this discovery session on picking the,right template,um as you might know shopify have,thousands and thousands and thousands of,templates,and it can be very difficult to um,really navigate between the right,template for your business,um and there's just a plethora out there,so i work with you,i provide recommendations on what the,right template might be,and that is a template we'll use as a,starting point to,put together your website the next step,is the design,phase which is really exciting because i,am a,front-end web designer and mid-tier,back-end developer,so i cover the end-to-end process on,both sides,of the process so i work with you on the,design and then the development,for shopify websites i only do the,homepage design,but it's all you need so what i'll do is,i'll look at the template,and then look at your web design brief,and create a website concept,so if you have a look at this website,here which is bearskin,i created the website sorry i created,the home page,design so this is it here the brief was,very clean and minimal,um displaying their products in a very,user-friendly way,so it's all you know adding strong,testimonials,highlighting their product all natural,chemical free,i used the colors in their,branding so their branding has very,simple colors,and very minimal color palette it really,is only black and white and this green,here and also a navy so the navy,here i use on elements if you don't have,branding i also have,really competitive branding packages,including and i also do,packaging design so you might want to,email me separately,to get a quote on that so i make sure,that your color palette in your logo is,used all across your website and across,your digital assets,and then use it subtly throughout i can,do nice little hover effects,um as you can see here,and um what i do is see more hover,effects there,and just make sure it looks consistent,across mobile and tablet devices,and across all different browsers as,well,so this business is a subscription model,um so i ensure that that's on the home,page nice and prominent,you can purchase single products or,subscription,um also newsletter integration so what i,do is i work with you on,the features you'd like for the website,whether that's b

How to Add Product Filter on Shopify | Filters on Collection Page | Shopify Theme Tutorial DIY

here is a simple method to add product,filters to your shopify store,log in to the shopify dashboard,we are splitting this into two parts,first you need to add products with,filters and then customize the product,filters on the collection page,to begin click products from the left,side of the dashboard,you can see the list of all products you,have already added,click add product from the top right,corner,start adding the product information and,provide all the related information,about the product,fill up all the columns like price media,description title quantity and all other,information,below the shipping section you will find,an options section,tick the box in that section and it,expands a column to fill up the filter,options,by default on the options name the size,color material and style are provided,you can pick from the option or provide,an individual filter based on a product,also fill up the option values,now multiple variants are automatically,created based on the type of filters you,provided,include the price and quantity of each,variant and complete,do a quick check if all the areas are,filled,as of now you don't need to add anything,to the meta fields,click the save button from the bottom,right corner,the product is successfully added and,made active,click the back arrow to reach the,product area,to look out for the product you have,added click an ice symbol near it to,preview the product,you can see that the product is included,with all the filters,now we move on to the second step from,the dashboard click the online store on,the left side followed by navigation,you will find filters on the bottom,by default no filters will be added and,click add filters to start adding them,choose all the filters from products and,needed filters from product options then,click done and save it,then select the themes under the online,store and click customize on the current,theme,on the customizer by default it will be,on the home page,select the home page at the top center,then it opens up the drop-down menu,from the drop-down menu select the,collections and pick the default,template or any template you want to,apply filters,now you can view the collection pages,with all the filters,here on this collection page the filters,are hidden,if it is hidden on your site then,navigate to the left sidebar click the i,symbol to make it visible,now you can view that all the filters we,provided initially are now available,here,you can also hide the other blocks in,this section,sometimes based on the theme you are,using the list of functionalities and,filter area could differ,now you can scroll and see all the,filters on the collection page,if you want to remove any particular,filter from this collection page then,click the exit button from the left top,corner and open it in a new tab select,the navigation menu under the online,store on the left side,for example i'm going to remove the,price filter,on the filter remove the filters you,don't want to show on the

How to Add Background Color to Any Section on Shopify? | Shopify Tutorial DIY

How To BUNDLE Clothing Store Products Inside Shopify [NO APP]

hello everyone christian here product,bundling or completing an outfit is a,great way to increase your average order,value for your clothing store now we,found a way to do this without any app,using meta fields and custom product,pages so,let's get started,we've been looking at different ways to,use better fields and we've come up with,a way to offer,other products that you get to hand,select into certain product pages right,so let's get started with this process,again this is not necessarily the,end-all be-all or it's perfect by any,means um but it gives you an opportunity,to yeah showcase products inside of,product pages uh that you are hand,selecting and hand-picking uh right now,a lot of themes actually do offer the,ability to,have a sort of a recommended products,right at the bottom,and obviously there's hundreds of apps,out there that allow you to again do the,hand selecting of products to sort of,complete this look right within the,product page but i just want to provide,a free option that doesn't require any,additional apps or anything like that,and just allows you to showcase the,products that you want depending on the,on the product that the actual customer,is viewing,so let's get started with this process,first off we need to create our meta,fields in this example we're going to,create three different meta fields that,complement,a product right so we're gonna do a,complete the look one two and three so,that for this particular product that,they're looking at they're going to get,three products that i think that go well,with it right so you want to go to,settings,and then go to meta field,then in here we're going to create one,or those three inside of products right,here,all right so we're gonna do add,definition and then the name i'm gonna,call it complete,the look one,and then select content type we're gonna,do a reference and then the reference is,going to be a product,see how this is kind of working now,we don't want to do the list of values,so we're going to leave it like that and,then click save,and then let's create the next two,all right now that we have all three,created in here so we have complete the,look one two three and then the content,type is going to be a reference to a,product now we can go to the actual,products and hand pick and select what,we want so we are going to,we're going to use the amarillo by,morning,shirt right here,and then as you can see right here under,the metal fields we have the complete,double 123,all right and then what we want to do,here is select the actual products that,we want to complement this shirt so,complete the look product one you select,the product then we're gonna do this one,right here,click add and then for the next one,select product,let's do this one,click add,and then for this one select product,then,let's do this one and then click add,now as you can see all the products are,hand selected by me and these are the,products that i want to showcase when,people land on this particular

Trust Between Teams - Hayley Hughes (Config 2022)

hi everyone i'd like to thank the,organizers of config for having me here,today to speak on the topic of building,trust between teams i'd also like to,thank mirko aziz for helping me craft,this story,first i'd like to introduce you to my,mom sylvia,years ago she experienced a mysterious,medical condition that teams of people,have tried to diagnose for eight years,the people working on her case include,doctors specialists social workers,medication managers,so many people i won't even bother to,list them all,when they coordinate with each other my,mom has good days with few symptoms,but when they don't things fall apart,if her nutritionist and her doctor tell,her to eat different things,she gets confused and stops eating,if her social workers and friends and,family aren't sharing schedules she,misses critical and point appointments,that we've waited months to get,if medication managers and specialists,aren't aligned she can end up in the,emergency room with medication side,effects,i recently hired a health care advocate,and her job is to get people to talk to,each other and work together you would,think this type of facilitator wouldn't,be necessary but without her people stop,collaborating,when you visualize all these,communication feedback loops it's,obvious how years of silos have left so,much room for my mom to slip between the,cracks,and if this sounds familiar it might be,because you found yourself in a similar,situation at work,perhaps you're tired of going back and,forth between people exhausted by the,effort that it takes to break down silos,the reality is that our systems are,broken,or some would say they're operating just,as intended but harming people that they,weren't designed for,from our health care systems to our,organizational systems they encourage us,to stay in our lanes,force us to compromise on our health,and the quality of the work that we do,and limit our belief in what's possible,so i'm haley and i'm a design director,i've spent,most of my career leading design system,teams in-house at large organizations,at ibm i helped build their design,program from the ground up scaling from,60 to over 3 000 designers,at airbnb and shopify i help them,redesign their career leveling,frameworks and evolve their design,systems,through many successful and unsuccessful,attempts at trying to work with,different teams what i found is that our,current beliefs and behaviors prevent,teams from trusting each other and,working together,and so i want to use this time to talk,about what a team of teams is the,benefits of this model and how it can,make us and our teams better,the limiting beliefs that hold us back,from working this way,and our role in removing those blockers,and moving forward together,so first i'd like to introduce you to,some organizational archetypes,today many of us work at a company where,we can open an org chart that looks,something like this,author and army general stanley,mcchrystal calls this the command,structure,in the comma
