How to Add a Sticky Header to Any Shopify 2.0 Theme

hi this is jonette with sweet honeycode,and today we're going to take a look at,shopify sale life for themes so let's,get started shopify cli enables you to,have a local,development environment for shopify,for my setup i use windows wsl 2.0 and,ubuntu and from there i installed the,necessary,tools that was needed like ruby,and git,once i was done there i installed the,shopify cli gem,i'll put links in the description below,so you can follow along,here i have visual code open and my,terminal set to wsl so that way i'm in,the ubuntu environment i'm going to type,out my first command which is shopify,space login,space dash store,my store name,which is a,littlewildclothing.myshopify.com,once i hit return,it's going to try to log into that,shopify store,now depending how recently you've logged,in it's going to prompt you to click a,link to authenticate it whoops looks,like i need to update the shopify cli,which i'll do later on,all right after updating my url i want,to,hit return one more time,so spelling is very crucial here you can,see i have the link,so which in within visual code i can,hold control and click and it's going to,authenticate it i'll log into my account,here,and there we go now i'm authenticated,now go back to my visual code,from here i can choose which partner,account i have available,there i am,already logged in,so i'm going to type in clear to clear,out the commands,perfect so then now the next thing i,want to do is initialize a theme so i'm,going to type shopify space theme space,initial,now i will come up with a name for my,theme i'm going to call it,wild space clothing and hit return one,more time now it's going to clone,the dawn theme from github,perfect and if i look at the sidebar i,can see that the theme and the source,code is all here,i hope you like this video as a quick,intro into shopify cli and getting,started with the shopify theme,i hope to cover more about coding and,developing with shopify themes down the,road,be sure to like this video leave a,comment down below if you have any,questions and i'll see you in the next,video bye for now,you

hey there Linnea from altar spring here,and I'm going to start walking you,through how to set up your Shopify,website from scratch so let's just get,started here I'm going to enter a stock,email address of mine just because so,I'm just setting up a kind of fake site,basically just to kind of show you what,to do here,so maybe my store name alright so then,you just wait an hour Internet is really,slow so we wait a long time,okay so then they just asked you a,couple quick questions so I'm just gonna,say I'm just playing around maybe though,you would want to say either I'm not,selling products yet or if you already,are a business and you are selling,products just say I'm selling just not,online and then you don't have to check,these boxes but if you do check these,boxes you're probably going to have to,pay them for these services,so you probably don't want to check,those so my current revenue is $0 I'm,really poor and I'm not developing a,store for a client so then there's that,so I'm just,you,okay so here we are that's it we just,created this door it really is that easy,so we just started a trial but you are,gonna have to eventually select a plan,so let's go look at that okay so your,plan options are either you're gonna be,thirty bucks a month purchase basic or,eighty bucks a month or just kind of,regular Shopify or you're gonna pay 300,for advanced you probably don't need,anything beyond basic at the moment if,you kind of start expanding you're maybe,gonna want to upgrade just because it,offers some benefits for example you're,gonna pay lower credit card rates and,you're gonna have more staff accounts,some more of your staff can accesses and,you're going to have a better shipping,discount so you get a shipping discount,through Shopify I believe it's either,FedEx or UPS and they give you a,discount because you're going sort of,Shopify store so but depending on your,plan you get a different discount so,yeah anyway for now though we're just on,the free test plan and we're gonna have,to upgrade eventually though because my,free trial is gonna end and then they're,gonna make me choose a plan or they're,gonna shut down my store which would be,really sad so before we do anything else,on our new online store let's first go,and link the domain so that's actually,pretty easy to do if you purchased a,GoDaddy go domain so you just go to,online store right there on left and,then click filming,so we put that to go and then you can,either buy new domain but remember how,we talked about that when buying a,domain in day 2 so you don't want to buy,a domain through Shopify because then,Shopify has your domain and your store,and basically if you ever want to move,to a different platform it's going to be,difficult to extract both whereas if you,already have your domain on GoDaddy or,on another hosted by another company,then it's not going to be as difficult,to switch so let's just click connect,existing domain and so after clicking,that you're going to enter your GoDad

do,welcome welcome welcome it is thursday,august 18 20,22,my camera is just getting used to me so,this brand new camera,we are going through the usual,technical challenges good times anyway,while i'm uh while i'm getting,everything set up um please check in say,hi,how's it going i've had an interesting,day woke up this morning with no ac,good times and uh yeah so,that's where we are right now,and it looks like my video has frozen,oh this thing,here we go there we go we're back all,right,um yeah so this is uh this has been,quite the day so no ac so i had to get a,technician out here the technician said,it's beyond hope so um,looks like we're getting new furnace and,air conditioning yay,one of those things you really want to,be spending money on,um today we're gonna be talking about,shopify's uh new branding section um and,they just added this,fairly recently so it'll be an,interesting little talk i went through,it kind of fairly in depth uh earlier,today so i walk through,on my own kind of how it all works we've,used it to set up a couple shops,it's still kind of hit or miss with its,implementation in terms of who is,actually,or,i guess i should say what is actually,using it right now,um hey cadets,cadets toys just launched a brand new,uh websites today it looks great they're,using the warehouse theme which is one,of the themes that we highly recommend,we're actually working on our own theme,which i'm hoping to kind of launch in,the next,couple months ivan and i just kind of,finalized a few things that we want to,uh include in it so yeah welcome cadets,toys,why don't i,how hot is it that you need ac,um,so,i don't do fahrenheit but uh it got up,to like,28 celsius the last few days so it's not,it's not terribly hot but we just don't,have great we we're a super humid,climate here so we need air conditioning,more to just remove the humidity from,the air than than the actual like,cooling down,not just gaiman's here hey jason how you,doing,let's jump into our uh our little,uh brand settings thing um just some,reminders here subscribe to us on,youtube like us on facebook follow us on,instagram,um,and,this week's feature shop is enchanted,grounds in colorado um they're one of,the first shopify stores that we built,with an outsourced company back when we,were just kind of learning how to do,uh shopify so we hired a company to do a,bunch of different features for us and,it's interesting because,a lot of those features that we hired,those people to do that cost quite a bit,of money back in the day,have been added to the 2.0 theme so the,the new themes are great madness says,what was that temperature again i,blanked on me um it was like 28 it gets,up to like gets up to 40 celsius,which i think you double it and add 30,to figure out what that is in fahrenheit,um,yeah so it's like,110 120 around there,yeah we have like like last night we had,100 humidity which was insane it was,just,you were just wet being outside it's,like living in florida living in ontario,u
