Customizing The Single product Shopify Store For Multiple Variations of A Single Product

what's up everybody welcome to a new,video today we're going to be answering,one of the questions here on the one,product store setup i was supposed to,continue the series today and finish up,all the uh i guess you could say the,minutia the smaller details like the,newsletter and things like that but we,have a question on the one product store,so we're gonna tackle that question,first and then maybe tomorrow we'll jump,into the video where we finish uh the,quick series uh for those who don't know,we basically built a store in literally,20 minutes and this is kind of how it,looks,the only thing we didn't do is like the,upsell we didn't do the newsletter uh we,didn't do all that and that would be,once again tomorrow,but the question that i got was from,uh,exectica sorry if uh sorry if i don't,know how to spell or read your name,but he says hey my question is that i,have a one product i have one product,but with a lot of different colors and i,want to make each one separate a,separate product to put on my front page,how would i do that and um,here i asked him so what like you have a,bunch of different variations and he,says yeah basically has different,variations for the product but he wants,them to be kind of separate and so this,is uh completely possible and just,remember that creativity will reign,supreme so let's go ahead and jump into,editing the store so you guys can see,what i did here so prior to,getting this comment the idea was just,creating the store based on one product,with no variations right,other than size of course as you guys,could see that was kind of the only,concept,but until we got the question,i thought well how can we actually,structure this idea if we have different,colors and different variations for the,product that kind of make it in a way,the same product but yet different how,can we showcase that how can we show,that to the consumer base uh it's,actually not that hard so,for this section right here this is,ideal for the sale part of the product,right so what we're going to do is we're,actually going to have to get rid of,that before we do that,we have to add the products right so i,added a quick few variations right here,so we have this variation this variation,in this variation for the product let's,just make sure they're all active so,just select them all here make sure we,go here and set as active,and then we'll just also make sure,that we don't have to worry about the,stock,for them so let's just go over here to,edit products,and i don't want to kind of worry about,the stock counters,uh for the sake of the video so let's,just go over here to,um,uh let's see here inventory quantity,and anything that's zero for these top,three,let's just go ahead and change that to a,one,and that's it all right so now,essentially every product is in stock,except for the original main product,size 13,size 11 and remember i did that for a,reason so i could show kind of the,notifying feature right so you see that,little animation at the

Shopify Tutorial: Hiding a Long Description in Collapsible Accordion (on free themes)

hello guys today i'm doing a requested,video but i hope that this is going to,be helpful to a lot of people this is,for anyone that has a really long,product description right and it's,pushing the rest of the page down and,people need to you know really scroll,to kind of see more information about,the product it's even worse if your,description is up above your buttons,and then people don't actually see your,add to cart buttons and your quantity,field and stuff like that right so,you may want to somehow,contain this entire description,inside something like a collapsible row,an accordion a toggle drop down whatever,you want to call this kind of interface,you click it and it opens up your,description but when it's closed it,doesn't take up space,i'll also show you,a couple of different options for,example if you want a little bit of,preview text so if you want like a short,description here right,and then you want a read more,with the rest of your description,um then i'll show you how to do that as,well and i actually think that this is a,much nicer solution than simply this in,case you're wondering no i'm not talking,about just using the collapsible row,blocks because,this is very limited obviously you can't,put like this wasn't intended for a lot,of text and in this all you can do is,like bold and italic i am actually,talking about the main product,description,about this field and wrapping the output,in a collapsible row like this or,actually splitting it so as you can see,this first sentence from here,is the first sentence here,and then the rest of it starts from,lowdom altera,and this is a london altera here so,actually splitting it here in between,these paragraphs so that it outputs in,two different places,showing you how to do all of that oh and,i almost forgot to mention but you are,going to be able to set this classical,description,as uh enabled or disabled on a per,product basis so if some products have,short descriptions and you don't want,the collapsible accordion at all,then this will be false by default,actually,and to turn it on you will have to click,true right and this is using meta fields,so if you're interested,in one of the features of shopify 2.0,which is meta fields and this will also,be a small introduction to using emitter,field,in a real life scenario i'm going to be,using,dawn right you'll be able to follow this,tutorial exactly if you're using dawn or,if you're using any of the free,shopify 2.0,themes right like dawn craft,crave sense all of these they have the,same code they have the same settings,if you're using a different theme from a,different company not from shopify then,i think you're still going to be able to,use this tutorial and kind of apply the,same concepts to another theme it might,be a bit more difficult but,many of these collapsible rows are built,in similar ways and what we're actually,going to be doing in this tutorial is,copying the code,that does these collapsible row blocks,and simply wrapping it aroun

How to Set Up a Local Theme Development Workflow

hi guys welcome back to websensepro youtube channel I'm your host Bilal Naseer and in today's ,tutorial we will show how to show only specific variant images when you have multiple variants ,so this is my product page and as you can see that I have four variants and each variant have two to ,three images attached to it in default shopify page when we select a variant it doesn't change ,or show the specific variant image it shows all the media library which is in the product it does ,not show only those specific variant images after implementing this tutorial you will be you will be ,able to show only specific variant images so this is the product page now when you click on black ,as you can see it's only showing you the black variant images picture and when you ,select any different color it will change the picture to show only specific variant images ,so without further ado let's get back into the code,so guys before we proceed i would like to tell you that this tutorial is specifically for dawn ,theme so if you're using any other theme it won't work i previously created a tutorial for debut ,you'll find the link in the description below so this is the tutorial which i'll be following ,i'll put the link in the description so you guys can easily copy the code ,and follow through so let's go to the first step i'll go to the backend of the shopify and add in ,the below code in our theme.liquid file so let's go to the backend,so here's our shopify backend i'll click on online store,and then from there i'll click on actions and click on edit ,code before editing the code make sure to duplicate your theme ,so if you break anything you can easily revert it back okay now click on edit code,and from there i'll click on team load liquid file,and in team dot liquid file below the head tag i'll add my jquery skipped ,script which i have it here so i'll just copy it and paste it here it says,cool now let's go to the second step in our second step we'll find main dash product or liquid file ,and add this code as shown in the file so we'll add this code on line ,number 69 as shown on the screen chart let's go to our product or liquid file,here we have our main dash product rejected file,and now we'll go to line number 69.,so that's the line number where we will add our code,which is an extra attribute thumbnail color ,is equal to media alt so i'm gonna copy and paste this code ,make sure to fix your inverted commas because when you copy the chord it shows the weird inverted ,comma that doesn't show the actual inverted comma so i just updated that and now it's safe,and after saving your main product or liquid file go to your product page and hit refresh,now all of the images should show their alt text as an extra alt attribute as ,an extra attribute sorry so click on inspect and check out all of the images,that if they are showing their alt text as you can see we have here thumbnail color is equal to black
