quantum makes a queen here's your look,at the quantum mechanics aliens,q fig max alien queen the alien queen is,a true apex predator of the galaxy and,the head of the xenomorph cast colony,she's larger more heavily armored and,responsible for all those little face,huggers just waiting to latch onto,unsuspecting hosts,and she's not too happy about ripley,destroying all her eggs inspired by the,iconic sci-fi action horror film,aliens the alien queen q-fig max elite,brings you her majesty as she's just,about to exact a revenge on ripley,this is one massive q-fig the queen,stands seven inches tall and towers over,brave ripley,her barbed tail nearly wraps around the,entirety of the starship,themed diorama base and her razor sharp,teeth are ready to sever well,anything the best part is the base of,the q-fig,queen connects to ripley the q-fig,allowing you to display them together as,they meet in pitched battle,now then before we get a closer look at,the cubic max elite of the alien queen i,draw everyone's attention to the object,that i've now brought into the middle of,the frame,this is my laser tape measure and it,helps me to be able to provide you guys,the necessary details of just how tall,these figures actually stand,so i'm going to go ahead and do this,part of my hairy arm by the way we're,going to measure it to the highest point,that seems to be the crest there,and we're going to stop the tape measure,right there,if i am reading this correctly it's,reading right man,joke never gets old you're looking,though at the q fig maxillary the alien,queen standing,seven point zero six six inches,or just well say seven inches switching,that over those centimeters the cubic,maxillary of the alien queen is about 18,centimeters,17.9 to be exact,once again a big thank you to the folks,over quantum mechanics that provided the,sample of the q fig max elite alien,queen that we could have a look at in,this review for the purpose of showing,its size,and for the fact that the display base,is attached together i'm going to move,over the queen that we're about to look,at,and we're going to bring in the power,loader qfig of ellen ripley that we,looked at in a previous review,not only does it give you a good size,idea of how much bigger the queen is i,may have even,increased her size just a little bit,more,but the base is also attached together,and i think that's a really nice neat,touch that they did on their part,now i'm going to do this certainly,closer in a second but i just want to,show you,just from a quick glance you basically,take the bases and,you have them facing with one another,and this claw point,the opening of the claw that we looked,at in the power loader and was certain,that attached to something on the queen,it actually grabs almost around her arm,so you want to kind of line it up based,on that bring the two bases together and,it also helps to then line the flooring,up as well,and you've got two mortal somewhat,mortal adversaries,in heated combat and boy

i put a spill on you,and now you're mine,you can't stop the things i do,hey guys thanks for tuning in it's the,one and only off the bottom it's coming,with another video review,and on today's episode thanks to the,folks at quantum mechanics,we're going to be taking an early look,at their new disney exclusive,hocus pocus q fig max,recently revealed to us at their online,comic con,quantum mechanics now has the disney,license which has opened up,a huge amount of possibilities for them,being able to cover animation live,action pixar,all of it is fair game and me as a,massive disney fan,is super excited about it during their,online comic con they showed us,two of them and both are gonna be coming,out fairly soon this,is the first and just in time to get,ready for halloween,hocus pocus is a staple at least,in my house for required viewing around,that time of year,and i think that this is wonderful for,the package you can see it's a little,bit,larger than some other normal q-figs,bringing in,the venom box to kind of illustrate that,you can see that it is,considerably bigger for the most part,because,the q fig max line are larger,display pieces as you can see you got,all three of the sanderson sisters right,there,come around to the side of the box you,got the hocus pocus movie logo which,looks great the back has a whole bunch,of warnings contact information,of course now the disney logo you can,open it,and it has a continuation you got like,that image inside the key right there,but when you open it you get a full-size,image and an even better display image,of it right there with the,hocus pocus logo right there super super,excited about this so without further,ado,let's get it out here and see how cool,it actually is,and here we have it and this is,absolutely,amazing now the main man mark over at,qmx,said something on a recent live stream,where he was talking about these,and that's wow you can be very impressed,with the overall,look of the piece there's a tremendous,amount of small little details in here,that,really do almost steal the show,for example when you look at the little,cloud section here,you've got all these little stars,painted in which,looks terrific another one here is on,sarah sanderson's hair you can see it's,done up in a nice,sculpted blonde sort of look but you got,one,that's braided and then has a little,nub thing at the end i mean that's,gorgeous i mean it's the same color but,you can see that the texture and you can,even feel it,is different that's a wonderful,attention to detail you have all the,different rings,that sarah was wearing even her little,uh is that a mole or beauty mark i guess,that's what you could call it when you,look at winifred you got,all the amazing detail on her uh,robes something i don't know but it's,even,layered you can see that you got the,purple underneath you've got a little,green piece underneath there,absolutely spectacular and then you can,even see her leg,has some of that extra paint where it's,black an

The Batman Who Laughs Figure | Q-fig

welcome back to find superior studio,where we love creativity and collectible,in this video we have the batman who,laughed q fig max by quantum mechanics,fine tip creative studio if you guys,aren't familiar with the batman laughs,it's basically in another universe where,when batman kills joker the poison kind,of comes out of his body and ends up,kind of making batman go crazy and mad,and turning him into the joker so you,have the combat skills and intelligence,of batman with the like psycho joker,which doesn't end well let's go ahead,and jump into this unboxing so as you,guys can see here i sprang down this fun,little art where it has the cue and then,you can see the batman last right here,and outside here you have like some,piece of the comic um back here you can,see a fun art which is probably what it,was inspired by and then when we open up,this flap,as you guys can see here you have the,batman who laughs once again and then,you have this piece from the comic,whereas i came holding these chains and,then you have the rabbit robins down,here and then here we got our first look,at the batman who laughed and already,looking at this i'm already liking how,it's all set up with the hahaha and,can't wait to see what it looks like out,of the box,when you open it up,here you have the batman who laughed,this is a really cool figure and already,opening it it's really dynamic sharing,with the scope you have like the batman,glass jumping and then you have all,these hahaha kind of text elements all,over with these chains that are leading,to the rabbit robin's neck and the,rabbit robins are like kind of jumping,over the hahahas and then you have one,chain that's just broken from one of the,rapid robins so something cool is that,their hair has this kind of green effect,to them on the rabbit robins they have a,really cool face sculpt where they kind,of like grit like gremlins or goblins,they're kind of like mini jokers you,also have the their outfit which is same,for all of them it's like the classic,robin outfit,and all instances like cool poses like,they're jumping kind of like toppling,over each other and then you have a,centerpiece the batman glass holding on,to some chains with this amazing outfit,all these hahaha and they're using this,kind of uh,this kind of shiny part to make it look,like the tongue and teeth are wet the,chains are really cool out they're kind,of tied to their neck and overall this,is a really cool scope the batman who,laughs outfit is really cool how you,have all these areas and nice buckles,all over him i'm liking how the batman,who laughs is kind of jumping and then,you can see all the ha ha ha it's fun,how they sculpted the headpiece where it,has the horns and then you have the,spikes and i'm liking how like big his,mouth is which is really cool and really,shows you like the insanity of the,batman who laughs overall this is a,really cool cupid max i'm liking all the,details as well as the paint job we got,this for around 50 bucks at

Design systems case study walkthrough: Designing components and creating documentation [Part 2]

hello friend and welcome to part two of,this little two-part video series where,I am walking through a case study from,my time at wealth simple if you haven't,watched part one yet I highly recommend,going and doing that somewhere over here,it will be linked that gives you an,overview and an introduction into this,entire project in there I walk through,the sort of presentation that outlines,everything from the context of the,project a little bit of customer,insights a little bit about our,principles that we created the sort of,introduction to the components that we,proposed and a little bit about the,impact as well so highly recommend,checking that out first as a precursor,to this video because in this one it's,going to be a little bit more technical,we're just going to dive straight into,the figma and look at how I created and,set up these components how I documented,all of the documentation for the design,components that then belonged as part of,our larger design system so yeah let's,get into the video today,foreign,figma and this was the working file for,this project I just walked you through,this presentation that is also in this,file and now I want to walk you through,the kind of final designs or like the,components that I end up creating let's,start with banners so here I have the,banner components and you can see here,that there is a link that says find in,Patchwork Patchwork is the name of the,design system at wealthsimple so even,though this was in its own unified,messaging project file we have a,different figma file for our design,system and so these were actually,created in that design system and,they're like kind of along there that,sort of their home and I sort of copied,them over into this file so that anyone,who comes into this file can kind of see,the final final work so what I ended up,doing is I created this section it's,basically just a group of components,that are grouped together via Auto,layout and you can see here all of the,different kind of variants or like stay,dates of this informational component I,don't know how many there is here maybe,like 10 or so and if I tap on one you,can see here on the right hand side in,figma that you can sort of configure,this component so in this case this is,an informational component and there's,no title it's not dismissable and,there's no CTA but of course if I,started to change this it would sort of,influence that component there so I have,here the informational components and,then on the right hand side I have some,examples of how this component should,appear in the app itself and then I also,have the sort of warning state of this,component so again all of the different,states for warning it's basically it's,it's the same except just like a,different color essentially is the only,difference and then again like examples,of how it should show in the app as well,something else I also did was started to,create design system documentation for,this component so if I zoom in here to,this this

Figgy Pudding | A Victorian Christmas Tradition

foreign,foreign,foreign,um,amazing,uh,is,yes,um letting us have this opportunity,um,it's funny because uh michelle uh he,sent me a facebook messenger hey do you,think you'd be interested in doing the,biennale and i didn't know it was like,wow,moan we,um so that's how it all started and,now we're here today so,i think so i'm going to talk a bit about,the the identity for the the biennale um,but i think to give the proper context,you need to have a more a larger,understanding of how the studio works,and how kind of the the his,uh,of b a meg a dia studio so you can get,the full context of the work now husman,so i'm going to speak english and i will,try to be clear,um i have a tendency to speak very fast,because i get very excited so there's,okay um all right come on see um okay,this guy,he's in the posters if you look closely,hello,so,um,uh i'm a jazz pianist and musician first,i started playing when i was super young,i'll get into that but this idea of,improvisation and being able to just,react in time in the moment i find,really interesting in the context of all,the things we do i'm improvising my,improv is improvising right now i have,no idea what i'm going to tell you today,um,a little bit,but this thing that happens now there's,things that happen before us there's,things that happen after this point in,time and then it's just how to navigate,this moment in time just like those,musicians were playing if you noticed,the looks on their face and where they,were performing,they,were clearly not self-conscious of that,activity they were so engrossed into it,that i think it's fascinating to find,some way of a creative practice and no,matter what we do whether it's design,music or,to find this space of concentration and,focus that we can just make stuff,freely so,this kind of idea this input output,improvisation really embodies the whole,way the studio works so this is life,experience theory research and practice,all the things that we do up until this,day,are in the context of how we work it's,beyond just fonts colors and stuff,me eating a croissant this morning may,affect this experience in some way so,after that you know something happens,you make some posters you do some work,you can you can take a step back and,look at that the thing is for me there,needs to be a clear separation between,the after and before so when i'm making,there is no,there is no critical mind there's,nothing happening i'm just doing in the,moment just having fun enjoying that,time so that's really important for me,to set that up so i'm going to talk,about the input,so that's meg raised her hand this is,the the formation of dia studio we were,started in 2009 and then the team,expanded here's the rest of the crew,outside of her old dumbo office that's,daniel indiana and yeah we keep it,professional with her photos if she can,tell,um,and then,of course layla she's actually hanging,out in the hotel room right now um,unfortunately i don't know if they,allowed dogs in the airport b
