hey guys welcome back to lux biz I'm,Tatiana and today I'm excited because,I'm going to be sharing with you a,progress update on how I'm doing with my,own online business so you guys might,remember a year ago I did a video with,stefan from projectlifemastery.com unthe,at 23 years old so a year later things,have grown the business has grown doing,around one hundred and fifteen thousand,dollars per month in sales right now,through one of my online businesses,which is selling physical products on,Amazon and on Shopify and that usually,renders around a forty to sixty percent,profit margin so in attempt to be as,transparent as possible with you guys,I'm about to hop behind my computer I'm,gonna screen share and I'm gonna show,you the live reports from Amazon and,from Shopify to share with you the,income update alright guys we are live,right now on my Shopify store so you can,see here that for the last 30 days,between January 2nd and February 20th my,story did about 82,000 dollars in sales,so keep in mind that these sales are not,skewed there was no special like holiday,sale was at Christmas time it wasn't,Thanksgiving you know it was in Black,Friday so these are you know average,sales so yeah so just want to share with,you that here eighty two thousand,dollars and let's head over to my Amazon,store so Amazon I haven't really been,focusing on Amazon very much this year,at all actually just because we prefer,to sell on the website because we have,more control over returns we have,control over our shipping policy we are,able to contact our customers much more,easily so we switched from selling on,Amazon primarily I started my business,on Amazon and I was doing around 5060,thousand dollars a month in sales on,Amazon but at that point I decided to,start selling on my own website just so,that I could have more control so since,then I haven't really focused on Amazon,only a couple products on Amazon I don't,have all the products I sell on there,but it still does around $33,000 a month,and sales in the last 30 days so that's,nice and this is just on amazon.com or,also selling on Amazon Canadian or,amazon kappa amazon got CA we just,started selling on amazon i EU I am,saying yeah so that adds up to around,one hundred and fifteen thousand dollars,per month and this is um just one of my,online businesses remember there are,different models of online business,which I do share about on this channel,there is Kindle publishing there's,affiliate marketing there are so many,different ways to make money online and,since I started my online business I,started with physical products business,but it's opened the door to so much more,for me so I'm able to diversify my,income and it's just really a great,thing so so I'm not sharing this with,you to try and brag or to try and,impress you but rather to impress upon,you the possibility with this type of,business and you know my business has,grown significantly in just one year and,I don't know many other types of,business mode

hey my name is Elle and I've been listed,as a Shopify expert since 2013. and in,that time I've built over 175 different,Shopify stores and Counting for myself,and my clients the last nine years have,just completely flown by for whenever I,was first selling my products at local,flea markets to launching my very first,Shopify store let's just say there's,been a lot of mistakes made along the,way and if I was just now starting a,Shopify store or e-commerce store in,general right now these are the things,that I wish I had known first off you,need a traffic strategy because build it,and they will come is totally 2 000. you,need to have a plan in place of exactly,who your ideal customer is and how,you're going to be getting them to come,to your online store you need to know,where they're hanging out online what,kind of messaging is going to resonate,with them to get them to come to your,store because without it they're just,not going to know that you exist and,that's obviously a problem,you've also got to think about how you,can make your product more unique so if,you're selling things like coffee mugs,for example what makes someone actually,want to buy your coffee mug over all the,other ones out there in the world,because let's face it there's already so,many designs out there so is it the,wording that's different the design,itself or maybe the material like this,one has gold foil in it what makes yours,more unique and stand out in a crowded,Marketplace me personally I love,drinking coffee and I have a full,collection of coffee mugs that I love to,choose from fill up with coffee and then,leave somewhere around the house and,forget that I had made coffee in the,first place any other parents out here,do that or is it just me please tell me,it's not just,me so even though I have so many coffee,mugs already I still like purchasing,them for myself and giving them as gifts,because they're meaning something to me,and they're unique and different from,all the other ones that I already have,what can you do differently with your,product that stands apart from your,competition so then it makes people want,to purchase it for themselves or,purchase it as a gift you really want to,think about how you can stand out no,matter what Niche you're in so that you,can do things differently and separate,yourself from your competition,foreign,coffee let's talk about something that I,actually really hate doing for my,business,you ready for it,it's social media to be completely,honest if I didn't have a business I,wouldn't do social media at all I'm a,pretty private person but I do have a,business I actually have two businesses,and doing social media is an essential,part of having an online presence you,need to be showing up consistently,online so that people know that you,exist that your products exist and that,you're constantly sharing your news,about your products new offerings and,how you can help your ideal customer now,I'm not saying you have to be on social,media every

some point,things will start to get back to normal,things will start to recover,and so you know whenever you're in those,lower points just realize that it is,going to pass at some point and it's not,going to be that way forever,okay fantastic so al you are an,expert on shopify stores as we said,um in the introduction why have you,chosen to focus on shopify,yeah so i originally came across shopify,about 10 years ago when i was looking,for an e-commerce platform to use for my,wedding invitation business,and even 10 years ago they were really,above and beyond the other competitors,at that time,and i feel like they're still very,really leading the forefront for,e-commerce so,there's a lot of other e-commerce,options out there but shopify really,just continues to innovate,and they were the first to add in what,they call sales channels,which is where you can connect your,store to facebook,instagram and pinterest and be able to,sell your products,in multiple locations wherever your,customer is but it's all in one area and,it still connects into your shopify,inventory so you don't have to worry,about,over selling anything or having to,create multiple different,products for different stores it's,really seamless and streamlined,so it makes it a really easy process to,get everything set up and get started,selling quickly,okay so for the individual listen to,listening to this podcast today,who would like to earn an income an,additional income stream they don't know,anything about shopify,they don't even have a product i mean do,you have to have a product or,i mean what the alternatives for them,who is your typical shopify,um who has a typical shopify store,yeah so there are a couple different,options with shopify i would say that,you would want to,be a product-based business it doesn't,really work as well for service-based,businesses,but you can have a multiple different,ways of a product-based business so you,could,in essence create your own handmade,product that you're selling online,you could do what's called drop shipping,which is where you are getting,a product from somewhere else and,selling it on your store so this could,be overseas or locally as well,or you could be doing print on demand,which is where you don't have to,purchase any,inventory up front and you're creating a,design and then getting it printed by a,fulfillment company on different,products like mugs t-shirts and stuff,so there's a lot of different options if,you have ideas of how you would like to,sell products online,but i do think definitely a,product-based business is the best one,for shopify,okay thank you for someone so for,someone getting started with,initial low costs the product on demand,and the drop shipping would probably be,a good place to start,for them yeah i think there's a,bigger barrier of entry when you start,thinking about launching an online store,and you think okay now i have to spend,ten thousand dollars worth of inventory,cost and you're not even sure if it's,gonn
