[Empire Theme Shopify] How To Add SVG Logo in Shopify Empire Theme

hi guys welcome back to another Shopify tutorial i'm your host ,Bilal Nassir with another tutorial and in today's tutorial we will add SVG logo ,in the empire theme so the empire theme is a paid theme of Shopify which costs about 300,and I created a video before which was showing you how you can add an SVG logo ,in in your dawn theme and we got really good feedback from that video we got a lot ,of comments that we have this team and this team and some of uh some of our audience requested to ,create a video on how to add SVG logo in empire theme so here are the video guys so ,keep watching and take a second and don't forget to subscribe and if you have any ,other requests where you need help with your Shopify theme editing please put uh ,put everything in detail on this comment of the on the comment of the video so we can create ,tutorials which will help you edit your Shopify themes so without further ado let's get into it,so, guys, that's the tutorial that i'll be following and I'll put the link to this blog ,post in the description of the youtube video so you guys can easily follow along so, first of all, ,we need to learn why we're adding an svg logo svg logo is of great quality as compared to pngs ,and jpegs and it's very lightweight so pngs and jpegs pictures might get blur if you zoom into ,those pictures but svg in case of svg it doesn't get blur so that's the biggest quality and it's ,very lightweight so it's good for speed and good for speed mean good for seo so that's the reason ,why we are adding an svg logo, unfortunately, shopify do not provide a feature where you can ,upload the svg and directly apply it through customized theme settings you have to code it ,to add an svg logo so to add an svg logo let's go back to your shopify dashboard after logging in ,you will see a dashboard like this and once you're on dashboard click on online store,and then from the online store click on actions then click on edit code before editing the code ,I keep repeating this because it's good for you to duplicate the theme and have a backup of the theme ,just like I have multiple backups so if anything is messed up in code you can easily divert ,it back and you don't need to worry to hire a developer to fix the bug which you mistakenly ,created so make sure to duplicate your theme now after duplicating theme click on edit call,and from edit code, you will need to scroll down to the assets folder and in this asset, ,folder click on add a new asset and upload your logo SVG file of your logo i already uploaded that ,as you can see i have logo red svg so whatever svg file you upload make sure to rename it as logo.svg ,because in the next step the code which you will be adding is uh have this logo.svg mentioned on it ,so if you have any other file if you have your svg file by any other name it won't work properly and ,guys one request if you guys are liking the content which i create on this channe

How to create custom page and product templates in our themes

hi everyone this is tim from milehi,themes.com in this video i'm going to,show you briefly how to create custom,page and product templates using our,themes,this functionality is supported in any,of our theme versions that support,online store 2.0,in this case we're looking at the,showtime theme but the same principles,will apply to any of our themes,so we're looking at the home page right,now,but if i click on this customer support,page this is an example of a custom page,template that we've used created in the,theme,we've got a banner up here with some,icons with text we've got an faq section,and we've got a contact us form that's,just an example of a landing page you,could create using the new sections,everywhere,so let's jump into a dev version of our,theme,and show you how that's done,so i'm going to go ahead and customize,our theme,and you'll see this drop down menu at,the top where we can quickly navigate to,pages or products,in this case i'm going to go to a page,and you'll see that there are a few page,templates that are included with the,theme here by default,as well as some that i've also created,for other videos,so if i click on the default page this,shows me what just a regular page in the,theme will look like,it's basically just got the content that,you've added in the rich text editor in,shopify,if i win if i wanted to i could go ahead,and add additional sections to this,template,but if i did that and saved then every,page that's using the default template,would also have the same sections with,the same content,that's not necessarily what you want to,do unless you want to have the same,sections and content with the same,images and text on every page,so a better thing to do would be,to click pages and create a template,we'll just call this custom three,and we can base it on different pages,depending on how we want the layout to,be so if we've already created a custom,page template that has sections that we,want to reuse but instead of having all,the same images and text,we use,unique content for each one then we can,base it on that in this case i'm going,to keep it based on the default page and,create a template,so now we're previewing this custom,three page template that i've created,it's not assigned to any pages yet and,we're previewing the about us page,now what we're previewing the page,doesn't really matter because we have to,set,the template that we're going to use for,each page,on the page settings itself,so for now it doesn't really matter what,page we're using in this case we've got,a few options for your heading and,regular page content over here depending,on your theme settings,we can go ahead and add sections to this,page now,and populate them just like we would,anything else and then save,so we've created our custom page,template and now we just need to assign,a page to it so to do that we can exit,out of the customizer,go to online store pages,and choose any page,so we've got this custom page that i've,used for another

Shopify Themes - Free, Paid or Custom? (The Honest Truth)

so far on this channel we've continued,to go deeper and deeper into shopify,theme development but today i want to,zoom out and talk more broadly about the,need for theme development to begin with,if you're new here i'm chris and i,currently specialize as a front-end web,developer for the shopify platform i.e i,do shopify theme development but if,you've clicked on this video i'm going,to take a guess and say that you don't,actually need my services let me explain,so given that i've built a bit of a,reputation for this kind of work i get a,range of people reach out to me some of,which are just starting out in,e-commerce and to virtually all of these,people i tell them to start with a,pre-built theme and focus on customizing,their theme later,why because as a new store owner your,primary goal should be on sales and,marketing not on getting your theme,perfectly customized i'll be honest a,custom site for me is typically going to,come with a five figure price tag and if,you don't have a ton of traffic on the,site yet that budget is probably better,spent on generating traffic instead,pre-built themes whether free or paid,will do the trick for the majority of,sellers and with premium themes starting,at a price tag of just around 220 usd,it's an easy investment to justify that,is until you reach a certain level,that level is typically when you start,to turn over more than a million dollars,in revenue at this point you have a real,business and with around 40 profit,margin you're making around 400k which,you can start to split up between,marketing and website improvements,people often ask me do i build websites,to which i answer no i customize,existing ones regardless of whether,you're just starting out or a few years,into your business,very rarely is it the case that i as a,developer need to create a brand new,theme for a client,most e-commerce sites have similar,features almost every product page has a,set of product images a product title,description price product form,and the add to cart button so there's no,need to reinvent the wheel but with a,bit of theme development we can add,extra features to the product page make,unlimited changes to the styling of this,page and this is where theme development,comes in,while the theme might come with some,customization options the only way to,achieve full control is enlisting the,help of someone who understands,front-end web development on the shopify,platform so with this in mind let me,directly answer the question in the,title of this video,the first decision you need to make is,free or paid theme as i mentioned,earlier this is going to be a question,you need to answer no matter whether you,plan to create a custom site or not as,it's almost always more cost efficient,to start with a pre-built theme and this,decision i would recommend you make,based purely on your budget if you can,afford the two to three hundred dollars,required to buy a premium theme then i,definitely recommend you do it,at the time of record

Using dynamic sources in your product and page templates

hi everyone this is tim from,milehighthemes.com and in this video i'm,going to show you how to create custom,product and page templates using meta,fields as opposed to creating alternate,templates,this functionality is supported in all,of our themes that support online store,2.0 functionality,so first of all i'm going to go ahead,and customize my theme here in this,scenario i'm using the galleria theme,but it works the same for all of our,themes,so i need to go to a product page so i,can do that by either clicking through,here the navigation to get to the,product page or i can use this drop down,menu,i'm going to click products,and we can see the custom product,templates that we've already created,i'm going to go ahead and go to a,default product so i can see what just a,regular product is set to look like in,this theme,so we've got a pretty typical product,layout here with a product gallery here,the title pricing and the ability to add,it to the cart,beyond that we have this image here with,some heading and regular text,and then another image with some text,over here,we've got some testimonials we've got,some related products,and we've got another image with text,section here,so,this is what every product page that's,using the default product template will,look like obviously this information,will change depending on which product,we're viewing but everything else,is going to be static with the exception,of these related products,because that's pulled in using shopify's,recommendation engine,but all these other sections that were,added manually over here are going to,have the same images and the same text,on every product page,so this may or may not work for you,if it does work great if it doesn't you,could create a unique product template,for every single product and drag and,drop your own sections to each one but,that's pretty tedious,and if you want to reuse some functions,like for example this image here,is just about saying that our products,are locally made with a background image,of san francisco,so this is kind of global content that,you might want on every product page,but this this might be like a feature of,the product for example,and maybe you want to have the same,section on each one but you want this,text to be different and this image to,be different,so in this case we can use meta fields,to do that,so i'll show you how to do that now,so the first thing i'm going to do is,i'm going to go ahead and create a,duplicate product template,so i go back to products and i click,create template,and in this situation i'm just going to,call this meta fields you can call this,whatever you want just whatever makes it,easy for you to remember,i'm going to base it on the default,product since that's what we're using to,you to preview,create template,so now i'm going to exit out of here for,a moment i'm going to go back to the,product,and i'm going to locate this key ring,product because we may as well use that,so there's the key ring,and i'm just
