there are a lot of new and exciting,things coming to the shopify platform,but one thing that i'm very excited,about is the new shopify theme which is,called dawn it has a lot of really cool,functionality in it that really expands,how much you can customize your store so,in this video we are going to go over,all the new things that you can do with,shopify's latest theme so without,further ado let's go ahead and hop into,my computer now,so i'm in my shopify store area now and,i'm in the online store themes area you,can see here i have an existing theme,already but to check out shopify's new,dawn theme you just need to go to this,free themes area click explore free,themes and you'll see all the free,themes that are available and dawn is,right here on the list so let's go ahead,and get this added in now,okay great so now that this is added in,let's go ahead and customize it and i'll,show you some of the new options so i'll,hit customize here,and now you have your home page that you,can design and add in different sections,on the left like you're used to and like,we've shown in other videos again you,can go down here and click on add,section to add another theme section to,this theme so we could just say blog,post,it'll add it in here and we can always,also,drag and drop it around into the order,that we want it to show up so you know,this this has been part of the homepage,editor for a while however the really,cool thing with the dawn theme is that,you can now do this for collection pages,and product pages as well so to get to,those,sections that you can customize you'll,click on this drop down up here,and let's do the collection first so,i'll click collections,and i'm just going to click the default,collection you can also set up different,templates if you wanted to stylize it to,all be different styles for let's say,the gift wrap is one style the,coffee mugs are another style you can go,in and create different templates there,but you can now see we have just our,regular collection page with our,products however now we can add in,additional sections so if we click on,add section,we can then see all of the different,images as well so let's add in a few,let's do an image banner,and then we can add in a email sign up,and let's add another one in,of,blog post as well so now we've got this,set up and we can go into each of these,individual things and actually start,customizing this for the collection page,so really cool functionality that you,can now use to really customize and,bring your branding throughout and this,is the same for the product page as well,so let's click again up here in the,drop-down click on products,and you can just click on the default,product again or if you click on create,template you can go in and create that,template name so let's just name this,gift wrap,and click create template,now you can see whenever we are up here,in this menu that we have our gift wrap,and you can then assign it to different,products as well so let's go i

so we have exciting news today remix was,acquired by Shopify and what does that,mean for the community for the project,and for seasoned because we've been,batting heavily on remix,first thing I wanted to talk about is I,believe and I do believe in remix a lot,and I think it is the revolution of the,packet at least and when I see such,important news I I get excited because,I've seen Shopify invest in open source,projects in the past and they are very,good at it and they tend from what I,know to respect the independence of the,maintainers and basically what happened,today is Shopify announced that they,acquired the remixed framework their,technology and their team is joining,shopify's team and I believe they will,be joining Shopify with a lot of,Independence and they will continue to,make remix the huge framework it's super,supposed to be and now with long-term,support and financial support and in,more usage and one of the arguments,people had with remix when we were,selling remix for for people is that,remix is not used by many big companies,so far and that's true it is being used,by a bunch of big companies I don't have,the names right now but if we look look,it up we'll find that's already being,used by a bunch of big companies but,with Shopify leading the project it will,be used by a ton of big companies and,that's very very good for the project,and I wanted to to get into detail about,a couple of things now that I that I,talked about the my initial reaction I,want to share more personal uh for me,and for seasoned take on it for us it's,a validation of a huge bet we made for a,little while it felt like are we Crazy,by betting on this new technology and I,was thinking whenever I thought about,this this way am I crazy are we like,betting the house betting the farm on on,something that that might not become,popular whenever that happened I I went,and started coding in remix and I,reminded myself why we were making the,bat so because it's so damn good to code,in remix I'm I was always reminded in my,impulse to to to bet on it was renewed,but even even so not having support like,this like support from Shopify a big,company did feel like a riskier bet for,us at seasoned and I wanted to share,with you why what did we say about remix,I think back in March this year exactly,at the time when we decided to support,to be a sponsor at remixconf their first,conference just so you know how did we,feel about remix back then and then I'll,share how we feel about remix right now,this is our website for people coming,from from the remix conf website,basically talks about what we do but,this page right here talks about what,did we see in remix the phrase on on the,left we believe remix is the revolution,of the decade is very true the tax at,the right when we saw the power and,simplicity of remix we immediately knew,it would also allow us to create better,apps faster so much so that we decided,to go all in we've been around open,source for so long to know when,some

How to Add a Sticky Header to Any Shopify 2.0 Theme

How To Update Shopify Theme Without Losing Customization

hey how's it going there the solutions,so today we have a client who you know,just having some issues they have a lot,of uh you know issues with their theme,you know where you know obviously a,loose load times and it's due to the,fact that they installed a lot of apps,previously and apps tenderly if you know,hold code behind its very own optimized,apps don't really care you know these,app companies don't care about your,store and how they install their app and,uninstall it you know they care about,you know getting that monthly payment,and also you know they want to install,everything globally they don't kind of,you know separate things so what we're,doing is I'm going to show you how to,you know handle that that exact issue we,optimized the store still not really,happy so I went back to the client and,said hey you know on I think we should,probably install a fresh copier theme,that way,you know only the apps are in actually,need and actually are using will be,installed on this theme it will also,remove that coat all those old codes,that were left behind now why do you,don't know but the proper way to,actually remove apps is to go into the,app and disable the settings wait a,little while because typically some apps,they have this they have what we call,cron job now runs in the background goes,through you know stores that are,disabled and more typically you know a,large majority of apps of ethics that,I've used in with this experience go and,remove the code that that's left behind,and then after once that's completed you,can actually go and delete the app most,of you don't do that you just go,straight up and delete the app don't,really blame you because no one told you,now I did so I'm gonna show you how to,install a fresh copy of the theme so I'm,gonna go in and delete this theme right,here and show you the steps of them and,then I took so does this particular,client is using district so what we're,gonna do is we're going to go down here,we're gonna go to shop by theme store,I'm gonna search up district and because,they paid for it we can actually go and,install the latest version so we're,gonna do that kind of looked at do its,thing,all right Wow Shopify you're actually,fast for once,all right so now we got having close out,of this window now we have the that we,have district so I'm gonna rename this,while it's doing this whole thing and,we're just saying this fresh copy so now,there's nothing here right there's,nothing no settings of MA no,customizations nothing nada zilch right,now a lot of people don't know this but,you know I've seen numerous people going,and have to redesign their store you,don't have to do that I really don't you,can go here we can edit the code you can,see I did a lot of different things here,so we're gonna go here and all the way,down to config settings data now mind,you this won't always copy everything,over but it's gonna save you a lot of,time time is everything so it's gonna go,here,copy the code I'm gonna go back her

Customize your Shopify Theme FAST | How to Design Shopify Store 2021

How To Change Cart Icon On Shopify? Easy 2022 Tutorial

How Shopify Went From Startup to IPO
