all right what's up guys this is jake in,this video i'm going to be showing you,how you can go ahead and customize and,build a store using the dawn theme with,shopify so dawn is the new default theme,whenever you set up a shopify store so,we're gonna go ahead and take a look at,how you can,set it up to make your store look good,so first thing you need to do if you,don't already have a store you can go,ahead and click the first link in the,description,and you'll be taken to this page right,here and you can just enter your email,address and go ahead and start your free,trial and we can go ahead and get,started setting up your store,so once you've went ahead and started,your trial,you're going to be taken to the back end,of the store right here and we can see,that by default the current theme is,going to be dawn so what we're going to,go ahead and do first is take a look at,the base template of this theme and then,we're actually going to start building,it out so i'm going to come over here to,actions and click on preview and now we,can go ahead and take a look at the base,skeleton that dawn provides us so we can,see here that we have a little,announcement bar up top we have our logo,we have our menu and we have the cart,and search icon we have a nice header,wallpaper right here along with a call,to action right here,we have another little,call to action with some information,right here we have,four featured products right here in,this section,and then we have a media collage that,includes a video,a collection and a product and then we,have a video section down here and then,we have a multi-column section which,includes three different text sections,right here and then we have the footer,so this is how dawn looks out of the box,and we're going to do a couple small,changes to it but mostly we're going to,be,building out this store using the base,skeleton of the theme to keep things as,simple as possible so with that said,we're going to go ahead and come back,over here and really quickly we're going,to take a look at the things you're,going to need to go ahead and build out,your store using this theme,so the first thing you're going to need,is a logo if you don't already have a,logo for your business or your brand you,can make one over here at logomaker.com,or you can come over here to fiverr.com,and search for a logo designer and get,one made for relatively cheap the next,thing you're going to need is some,wallpaper photos because we've seen,especially on the header you're going to,need some photos to use for that so,these are going to be pictures that are,related to your brand or your product,and if you don't have any of those,yourself you can go ahead over here to,pixabay.com or,unsplash.com to look for free stock,photos that are related to your product,or niche and then obviously we're going,to need product photos as well as,product details so this is something,that i assume you would already have,and then in this case we saw that there,was a video

hello everyone does Edwin from,resolution design tap lead Shopify,experts here today going to review,Mobilia the Mobilia theme from Shopify,or actually from out of the sandbox,Shopify website so the developers of,this beam not to mixin anybody up is out,of the sandbox and the platform that,we're using here is Shopify alright so,I'm sure everybody is aware that you,could get this theme online or test it,out yourself but the purpose of this,video is not for coders definitely if,you're an expert at coding you know a,whole bunch of HTML and all that stuff,this is not the video for you this is,the video for the basic person that's,just trying to build their website,you're trying to sell some products,online right and they don't have enough,time or maybe resources to get a,developer so they want to kind of do it,themselves right so that's what it's all,about,this is Mobilia let's get started I have,four tabs open and then these four tabs,we're gonna go over there for different,looks and on this presentation I'm going,to tell you everything in and out as far,as pros and cons regarding Mobilia if,you should install it or not let's start,all the way at the top so right here the,one we're looking at it's called Sydney,I'm sure you guys seen it before with,Sydney we're gonna first begin over here,with the notification it's very tight,very limited so some information like,this would be more than enough or you,could disable it which is a good thing,so you're not permanently stuck with it,then we have the logo canvas um having,or doing business with some clients I,noticed that some clients have like,square logos logos that kind of like,let's say look like this or they have,the rectangle logo well themes typically,have a canvas to fit your logo in here,and in this example is just trying to,give you an idea what type of logo can,you fit and so ideally simplistic logos,like this would be great so a logo like,this is like you know it has this and,then it's transparent inside here but,according to the other demo versions,this is a square logo this is a square,logo this is more of a rectangle logo,here in their other version they have,again a rectangle very minimalistic and,then right here,they have another very simple rectangle,logo so the way that that's recommended,is for you to have a rectangle logo you,don't want something real big because,then it's going to obliterate the header,so this is kind of giving any idea then,after that as you can see here we have,the social menus over here or the social,icons so that people could find you,online and then we have the navigation,system the main menu navigation and,according to all of the examples as you,can see they have that same pattern,where you got out here your phone number,or something like that and then the drop,down menu or you could have a contact us,where it links to the contact us page to,sign in and then this is the the regular,thing right so it has a good,presentation and a search bar I believe,if you want

hi there this is Tim from mile-high,themes comm I'm the creator of the,Showtime theme and this video is,designed to show you how to create,multicolor mega menus in your navigation,so in our cook time demo you can see,this is a four column mega menu so it,it's a really nice way to break up your,navigation if you have a lot of items in,there in two columns and by categories,and so forth so Shopify has recently,changed the way that menus are created,so I felt that it might be wise to,update a video to show you how to do it,in the new system so we begin I've got,another theme here on another site that,I'm playing around with that has no sort,of drop-down menus at this point so what,we're going to do first is we have to,enable mega menus in the theme settings,so if we go to the theme we want to edit,choose customize and once that loads we,were going to play with the header and,as you can see for now there's no drop,down menus associated with these links,at all click header and make sure that,at the bottom here we have mega menu,selected under navigation and the type,and we've got the main menu chosen here,as the primary menu save that and,obviously that hasn't changed anything,because we haven't set up any mega menus,yet but that enables that functionality,so from there we just need to go to,online store the navigation and this is,kind of what it looks like as it stands,right now we've just got these three,items in here and the new Shopify,functionality allows you to drag and,drop menu items around to reorder things,and that will update in real time on,your site so in this example we're going,to create a four column mega menu that,looks similar to this so we have four,headings here with some links underneath,and to do that we're going to use this,catalog link as the,main link so we just add a menu item and,these are going to be our four columns,so we'll create those first so I'm just,going to call this column one and then,you could either choose a link for these,column headings that they could actually,click on and go to if you like or if you,don't want them to be linked to anything,you can simply add a number sign in here,or hash hash sign whatever you so choose,click Add,so that fulfills the requirement Shopify,has to provide a link for all of the,items but it doesn't actually link,anywhere so now you see that this column,one has been generated but it's showing,in the same line as all of these so,that's just going to show in the main,heading there so now we can drag it and,put it under the catalog so as you drag,it around you see that it this little,arrow shows up and that indicates that,this item is now nested below the,catalog so now we can continue to create,our columns call this column to put in,another hash sign there add and we'll,continue to do this and note that you,can have two or three columns as well as,four so there's no limitation there and,it will show accordingly at that ad it's,like I just named this column let's call,it column 3 col

xero is one of the most underestimated,levers that you have to optimize your,business everyone always talks about,optimizing your facebook ad structure,but nobody talks about optimizing your,landing page even on youtube the search,volume for cro is so low this needs to,change conversion rate optimization is,one of the only things that can double,your business with just a few tests for,those that are new here i'm davey,fogerty my shopify stores have done over,270 million dollars today we're going to,cover off my experience and tips on cro,first let me explain what cro actually,is it stands for conversion rate,optimization xero is just a process of,creating an alternative version of your,website that you can run traffic to you,then measure the difference between one,variable or the other also known as a b,testing you can obviously optimize all,kinds of things such as facebook ads and,email what we're going to talk about,today is actually website cro a lot of,tools like click funnels actually have,their a b testing built within their,platform making it really simple for you,to use things like webflow as well have,a really simple integration with google,optimize allowing you to run your split,tests while i hear that shopify is,working on a solution like this,especially with the 2.0 themes it is,still quite difficult to a b test,shopify you may need to use something,like google optimize or another cro tool,as well as a developer and a designer,what i recommend for ciro really depends,on a lot of things it depends on your,business size your business resources,and also your text app what are you,using to sell your product first let me,describe what i would do if i was just,starting out in e-commerce this is zero,dollars to about 500 000 revenue per,year with this amount of traffic coming,to your store i still recommend doing,cro you might just be a little less,structured about it you've got so many,things on the go that you're setting up,figuring out with your creatives that it,might not be your sole attention,regardless of your size i suggest,starting with a post purchase,attribution survey this is going to,start getting a lot more information,around why customers are buying your,products then i would try incorporating,that into my email split test this will,start giving you a lot more information,around what your customers are receptive,to now if you're using shopify and just,a basic theme you might want to use a,page builder you can use something like,gem pages or shogun they actually have,inbuilt a b testing providing you have,some basic design skills i would try,designing the page myself split testing,the insights that you've learned from,your survey alternatively you can build,an advertorial on click funnels this can,then push to a sales page and then also,push to one click upsells this has an,inbuilt zero function so it's great to,get started with if you really struggle,with design you might just want to hire,a virtual assistant to build the page
