hello everyone my name is amul and you,are watching Shopify expert,so YouTube channel so in this video,quickly going to show you how I upgraded,this debut vintage theme to Dawn,latest Shopify os2,over 7 which is done seven you can see,7.0.1,so the debut theme is basically a custom,WC image not,so,if you want to have a look how it looks,you can I can quickly go,ahead and review it,this is the home page you see there's a,rendering CSS rendering issue with this,tab view theme with this latest Chrome,browser,uh,okay so you can see there's so many,things that are not by default available,interview theme,and so this is the home page if you go,to section,okay this is this takes you to the,product section,yeah and and then what if,one which will take you to catalog,yep and then if you add one product,this is a lot of things,and then if you go to,okay here,on the card page,this is how it looks on the,depth you see minifigure to check out,you want to keep everything,as it is,okay so I can close this one you can,already have seen it if you go to,preview,down 7pv,I also want to show a few things in the,customers I don't think customizer,graded dot dot so you can see this is,how the dawn 7 looks,and this is more cleaner modern,it looks modern here,cleaning,these features are not available,section page title to all the templates,title sectioning,Center text,and,nothing much,if you go to product page the one thing,I,have to add to this John thing of this,product description accordion which is,HTML details and summary and details tag,so,I used this custom app basically private,app,to add few section because the client,did not want to,have lots of custom code on the dawn,theme they want to keep all the sections,separate,so that,I suggested them to do this way because,this is more safer for future upgrades,so you can see I'm creating this,prescription which is here,this is a section coming from,the private f,and and if you go to,home page you can see I'm using this,uh private apps section,of few places you can see two three,three times on this so this is image,section,in this private app and this gives you,lots of options,so you can manage padding term bottom,background color if you want to change,it,select the image Center crop the image,of the center top bottom,image height weight you can manage,easily,Max wait basically this is a image with,for mixed screens uh the heading,heading overlay if you want to keep,overlay or normal which will take it on,the way down like this,it's it's taking a bit longer you can,see right there,uh and then,I can take it,on the screen on the image,heading color can be changed heading,size heading top bottom so this is,basically yeah,so top is basically if you take in the,number in the negative that will be just,opposite,top text so this is the text the button,top,text uh text overlay,yeah and I'm more like the text uh the,heading size of the text but the button,text,size for button textile,increase it,is because it's coming from the

so hey guys we're on to the next park,park - this is where you're going to,customize your theme so um the theme,that they normally have is what's called,Launchpad star when you first start your,shopify everyone gets this one I,personally don't like it you click visit,the in store and you can choose to,either pay for your theme or you can,just have a free one I suggest in the,beginning get a free one is why pay for,something you don't know you're going to,like so the theme that I have on both of,my stores is adventure I find it easier,to use so we're going to click adventure,you can get a test view a demo to see if,you really like it,I personally like it because I like that,you can have one giant picture have all,of your tabs up here even have your,whole logo and I like that you can have,featured products or feature collections,right on the front page and you can also,have it looking like this so this is,kind of what my young data store looks,like it kind of looks exactly like this,and mine like a girl store only it stops,to about here and then it goes to the,bottom of the page which is here so this,is also where you would put your terms,and conditions your privacy policy and,your return policy this will go directly,on your page and it would be clickable,so that people can,see it also here is where you should,have your social media so if you you,have a store it should automatically,connect your Facebook your Twitter and,your Instagram and you will be able to,do that in the back side of the feet so,you click install themes you don't,necessarily have to choose venture this,is just the one that I like the most and,this is the one that I know for a fact,when I do my free plus shipping and my,locksmith app it works perfectly with,this app so some themes don't work that,well with the locksmith app and it,actually tells you that when you get,into the app it tells you that it,doesn't work with certain themes but I,know for a fact that it works venture,because if I because I meant,okay so once it downloads you're going,to go to your theme manager,the route the manager you're going to,customize your theme and this is where,you get to customize your theme so it,comes up it adds your your name of your,store and this is kind of what it looks,like without all your products in it so,for me here this is where you change the,colors I personally like my background,to be oak color I guess be white pink,white okay then you can change your link,color change it to black,I changed the page background wait,I change this I'm a big fan of pink so,we're going to do pink going to a baby,pink so to keep the same colors and a,copy this code,and wherever you see the red,you're going to change it to that color,so you have a consistent color going on,and as you can see you got pink here,pick is there thank you and the pink is,here also there yep and it's also there,so I'm fine with all the other colors,this little back button for save you can,also change the typography so if you,

last year at Shopify as annual,conference Shopify unites the company,announced a new store design experience,this new store design experience meant,that the existing Shopify theme,structure was about to be recalled and,the theme customizer completely updated,fast forward over a year since this new,store design experience was announced,and it's still not yet available for,merchants but Shopify have been updating,their documentation and allowing,developers to test out the new store,experience through a developer preview,store so in this video let's take a look,at what is coming up in the new version,and prepare ourselves for a whole new,theme development paradigm,all right so first of all if you haven't,checked out the announcement video I,encourage you to do so you can easily,find it by searching for the title,introducing a new store design,experience,Shopify unite track session 2019 or,something similar basically to give you,guys a summary the new store design,experience will allow merchants to add,remove and rearrange sections through,the customizer on products collections,of blogs and pages previously this was,only an option on the homepage so,merchants found it frustrating that they,couldn't get that functionality on other,pages as well in this new store design,experience you'll be able to have,sections on other pages other than the,home page and be able to reorder them,like you would on the home page,currently number two it will allow for,merchants to change the sections on the,page from product to product currently,you have just one product template and,you would even need to detect the,product handle and make changes inside,the theme code use blocks or use,alternative templates in order to get a,different result from products or,product in the new version you'll be,able to update the list of sections from,the store editor for each product page,thirdly we'll see sections like header,and footer move into the frames folder,and be called inside the content for,layout using frames Jason rather than on,your layout file number four it will,allow merchants to choose from a,predefined set of sections when creating,new pages this is known as starting,points number five they're going to,standardize schema settings so that,merchants can switch between themes,without losing all of their settings and,finally it will allow merchants to draft,changes before publishing inside the,same theme so how can we preview this,new store design experience first you'll,need to make sure you're signed up to a,sugar five partners account from here,you just create a new development store,but underneath the section four,developer preview you're going to check,the check box for create store with,transfer disabled to use a developer,preview under the drop-down you're going,to select online store design experience,then you'll need to go and find the new,version of the,theme which has been made specifically,for this new theme development paradigm,from here you can have a look

hey everyone davey here welcome to our,first video of 2022. today we're going,to go through my 10 favorite shopify,apps shopify makes it so easy to install,apps it's one of its super powers apps,can increase conversion rate increase,average order value and make you a ton,more money apps need to come with the,warnings though if you use the wrong,apps it can slow your website down and,leave a ton of money off the table for,those that have been following along in,our lemon scrub series you know that,we've got our website all set up now,it's time to install apps if you haven't,been following on that's okay i'm just,going to use the lemon scrub as an,example in this video none of these apps,have paid me for this video there are a,couple of affiliate links down below but,i'm going to give you lots of,alternatives and outline the pricing so,you can make the best choice for your,business let's get into it the first app,that we're going to cover today is,perfect if your product is low average,order value so basically under 70 or so,with products like that shipping costs a,lot of money compared to the actual,revenue that you can bring in per order,the app is called ship scout it's always,difficult to understand when you launch,your product whether you should offer,free shipping or charge a little bit,free shipping should be more appealing,to customers and therefore increase your,conversion rate so the more people that,go to your store will actually end up,checking out a lot of brands will,actually just add the cost of shipping,onto the price of their product making,their product just a little bit more,expensive to cover that cost what ship,scout does is it allows you to actually,split test that concept what this allows,you to do is actually test shipping,thresholds for lemon scrub for example,if we're selling for 40 and we have a,free shipping over 50 offer on the,header bar it would entice people to,actually purchase two of the product,drastically increasing our average order,value naturally with all split tests if,you're trying to raise prices which in,this case you are for the people that,only wanted to buy one lemon scrub,because you're going to charge them,shipping you should expect a conversion,rate decrease because less people buy,because there's less value i've been,following along on twitter and there's,been some really strange results for,this app not only have people been,receiving an aov increase with their,orders but a lot of people are actually,reporting that conversion rate also,increases which is completely,counterintuitive one theory behind this,is users are just thinking they're,getting a better deal with a free,shipping offer over the threshold if,you're currently charging free shipping,and you've got low margin products where,people can buy a couple of them i,definitely recommend trying it out to,find the app all we need to do is go to,the app store right in ship scout and,it's just here there isn't a huge amount,of reviews on it yet be
