- Hey, it's Kurt, and in this video,we're going to take a look at dieselpowergear.com,to see what they did right and what they could do better,,and maybe what you could apply to your own Shopify store.,If you're not familiar with dieselpowergear.com,,it is the merch-swag-parts store for Diesel Brothers,,the Discovery Channel show about some dude bros,who are really into diesel trucks,and they've got a business-turned-lifestyle-brand,built around the idea.,Recently, what brought this to my attention,is they were ordered in Federal Court to pay $848,000,for air pollution violations,related to giving away and selling a whole lot of trucks,with emissions-defeat devices on them.,Diesel trucks, of course, as the name would imply.,So when that came up, I checked out their store,that was mentioned in the lawsuit, Diesel Power Gear,,and discovered that Diesel Power Gear is,,as we see right here in the bottom, powered by Shopify,,and they've got the link in the footer,,but if you are wondering if something is a Shopify store,,the dead giveaway I always look for,is take a look at their collection, their category pages,,and if you see that that telltale URL/collection/name,,you know right away, that's a Shopify store.,And in this case, I recognize this theme immediately,as the free Shopify theme Venture,with some light modifications, right?,So if you'd like this layout, you like this look,,you can actually get this for free right now.,The theme is called Venture.,I've used it, it works, very simple,,straightforward, good theme.,So, on the homepage in the header at the top,,they've got it modified a little bit here,,where they have these multiple logos.,This is because it's part of a network.,They've got multiple sites.,I like this idea.,If you've got a series of sites,,why not do a logo bar like this?,I think, having that network,,A, you're sharing authority link juice between them,,but I think it creates professionalism,when you're showing, like,,"Hey, I don't just have one site,,"I got a whole series of them,"and they're all great.",Also, they've got their Search bar up here.,This we definitely want to improve on.,Search is so important for E-commerce,,especially when you've got a lot of products.,So, I would add a placeholder input in here.,I would say, "Search the store...",,make it very clear what this does,,and we found in split testing,that saying "Search the store" in a search input,actually will increase usage of it.,The other problem here is, oh no!,They don't have auto-complete turned on.,That's an easy free theme feature that will require...,some themes support it,,the theme could be customized to do it,,or you can get an app to do it,,but if you don't want to pay for an app,,you want to build right into the theme,,you can add that auto-complete to the search in your theme.,And then up here in the top right, they got their Search.,I wish there was something to make this stand out more.,And right now, you can see I got a couple items in Cart.,But

hello hey,i thought it would be easier to show you,how to set up um this crowdfunding,platform for shopify called craigstarter,rather than um,have you try to sort of fumble through,setting it up yourselves perhaps,because it is a little tricky but it's,not too complicated and i think,if we have a video super easy no problem,so first of all what is it what does,this craig starter thing do for shopify,so a normal product on shopify this is,my shopify shop,a normal product on shopify looks like,this it just looks like a product,you can select color for something you,can look at images,you can add to your cart that's it,pretty simple,pretty straightforward crankstarter,turns,a product on shopify into a campaign so,crowdfunding campaign essentially,you set up goals so you have i have five,goals here,uh going to press signing the books,printing postcards,doing some pizza toast youtubing to tbd,on what exactly that involves,and then selling out of this first,edition,and so you have this sort of standard,crowdfunding,campaign uh goal section here and what's,different than kickstarter is you can,set multiple goals,and they all kind of fill in and they're,grayed out as they're filling in we'll,see that in a second,and then down below you have tiers so,users can select,customers can select which tier they,want to back your campaign using,and when a tier is selected it looks,like that and,when it's sold out it looks like that,and you can add it to the cart,and this all updates in real time pulls,from,shopify's back end pulls from your,product data in real time so this all,updates,as sales go through it's pretty cool i'm,seriously impressed by how amazing,shopify is,and i think that for a lot of folks,this is enough this is all you need to,run a campaign,and right off the bat by using shopify,plus my,templates um you save,upwards of seven percent in processing,fees,and um and the cut that um,a platform like like kickstarter takes,so i think for indie publishers,this is huge so let's get into how,this is set up so we'll start with a,blank,shop this is just a shop with one,product in it just this this new book,and we're going to set up a crowd,funding campaign around this new book,i'll link to all the stuff down below,github,is where the code for craig starter,lives,and it explains some of the advantages,and disadvantages of using it versus,launching on a platform like kickstarter,or indiegogo,and it tells you how to install it and,we go into variables and meta fields and,we're going to be focusing on,installation and these meta fields to,get,everything up and running so first,things first,uh the theme that i am using,kind of as the baseline for this is,called simple,and in your shopify shop under online,store,under themes you have a theme library,and you can explore free themes and you,can choose simple,it's free and then if you click on it it,gets installed,i like simple i think,there's a lot of nice minimalist themes,for shopify but,if you're using a differe

How to Add Products to Shopify from Aliexpress (2023 Updated)
