all right guys so in this video i'm,going to be showing you how you can go,ahead and,customize your debut theme within,shopify so debut theme,is the theme that all shopify stores,start out with,by default when you go ahead and start a,shopify store and if you haven't already,opened your shopify store yet you can,start your 14 day free trial by clicking,the first link in the description,so i figured i'd make this video because,debut theme,is one of the most commonly used themes,because it's the one that all stores,start out with and the view theme,actually looks,really good so right here we can see,that this is what debut theme looks like,when it's first installed with,absolutely nothing filled out,so we can see that we have where our,logo should be,we have a big header right here with,some text we have an image here,we have three images with text below,here we have,a uh empty collection and we have,another,um header type image right here another,wallpaper image,we have some testimonials and we have,three images down here,and then we have the footer so,right now we have a nice little template,but it's blank,so if you're looking to go ahead and,fill out,your um store using debut theme,the first thing you're going to want to,make sure you have is,a few key things so i'm going to bring,up a notepad and just make sure,because before you go ahead and start,the design process you're going to need,a couple things so the first one is,going to be a logo,so i assume you already have a logo at,this point if you're ready to start your,store design but if not,then make sure you get a logo first,because everything else is going to be,based around the logo,and then we're going to have a color,scheme selected,and normally this color scheme is going,to,be derived from colors from your logo,and typically,you're going to use one to two colors,to base your entire store around and,like i said these colors will be derived,from the logo and the next thing we're,going to need,is a couple wallpaper photos,so we can see we're going to need some,photos to go ahead and put back here in,this header,we need some photos to put back here and,this header as well,so if you have any large photos related,to your business,go ahead and upload them to your,computer or,put them all in one folder so we can go,ahead and,use them as backgrounds here and if you,don't you can use,different sites such as pixabay,to find free stock images that you can,go ahead and use,so let's just type in something like,fishing,so if you had a store related to fishing,you could go ahead and just,look for different stock photos here,or maybe you have something related to,yoga,or fitness you can type in a lot,of different niches depending on what,your store is based around,and you can use some of these wallpapers,to go ahead and put back here,now obviously i do think it's better if,you have your own,custom photos but uh you know not,everyone's gonna have that starting out,so if you don't you can go ahead and us

hey shopify users in this tutorial i am,going to show you how you can,add more sections to your themes product,page if you are using any of the older,themes like debut theme,so what i mean by older themes is,beginning of 2021 shopify,introduced online store 2.0,and with that they introduced some,changes a new set of themes,and,debut theme is one of the older theme so,with these changes,you get,more benefits in terms of customization,these themes are also much faster,so and and in future there's going to be,more and more benefits from these themes,and even with the current changes,there's a lot more to it so,um i will leave a link,for this,article and you can read more about it,and in this video,let's get on with,adding more sections to the product page,and,to show you,the difference i have here,dawn theme,and then i have here debut theme,and you can see i am on the product page,debut theme doesn't have much here,if i go to,dawn theme you can see,a lot more going on here plus you can,all add a lot of sections here,that,were not available in the older games so,how do we achieve this so,shopify has,made it possible that,you you don't have to upgrade everything,you can one by one update the page,templates so how you do that is if we go,into the code for each team right now,i'm here in the dawn theme,you can see within templates you see dot,json files up here,and then if i go to the old debut theme,the same thing in templates you're,seeing dot liquid extension so this is,the major difference what needs to be,done is we need to,change this product dot liquid template,here to,a product dot json template just like in,this dom theme right here,so let's get into it,so first thing you would want to do is,create a backup of the theme that you,are going to be,working on so i am going to be updating,the debut theme that is not my active,theme right now so what i'm going to do,is just,duplicate this theme,duplicate,and then i can just rename it to,something that,i can remember,debut,product page,chain,upgrade,so,now i can work on this theme here to,make the changes,and,so we go in here,and go to edit code,so once you are in the code for this,copied,theme,what you can do is go to,the,product dot liquid template,in templates folder,and,right where you see the section product,template and product recommendations,down below from this div,just copy all the way down,till the end,and then go to,sections folder,and look for this product template,and it should be around this one product,template,and then in here,look for,the schema,uh you can search for schema quickly or,just scroll down around here this is,where the schema starts and then you,have this,and unless so around,right before the schema starts just,paste that code,that you just copied,click save,and now go back to,where the dot liquid template is and,click on that and then we are going to,delete this file,so make sure you have selected the right,file product that liquid selected click,delete file up here,and

hello everyone and welcome back to,another pentitude video,i am so excited it's been quite a long,time and this video is going to be a,little different because i'm actually,going to be showing you,how to add landing pages,to your shopify debut theme website,as some of you may know i've decided to,take the plunge,into shopify it's got a great e-commerce,platform,love the services so far but one of the,things,that was kind of left wanting was,the shortfalls when using the debut,theme when it comes to,using sections in your landing pages,so for example when you first go on,and go to customize your website,you're welcomed with this beautiful home,page it has a bunch of,different sections about 17 section,options,that you can add and,in addition to that you know you can,click into it,it's very easy you select your image you,add your content,adjust the size you can drag and drop,the sections to wherever you would like,them delete them,add more whatever you like so you start,out,really happy and it's super easy very,simple,it's great then you go,to add a,page so for example i've got a,shipping policy page and,you know all you're really left with,when you add your page is the title and,the content and it's like,going back in time to those early 2000s,when people had wiki blogs,and you would do a little bit of html,and feel,super proud of yourself but the world is,not like that today especially,when you are a small business and you,are trying to visually attract,all of your customers and keep them on,your site for as long as possible,so having this very simple layout,uh it doesn't really work and you'll go,on to uh the customized page,after you've added your,your specific landing page and you'll,notice on the left hand side,all of those customizable features and,ability to add sections,drag and drop them is not there,so you're left wondering what what do i,do,how do i organize my page and make it,look,nice for both mobile users and computer,users because that's something,really important that we need to,consider nowadays is that most,shoppers are actually on their phone so,does it look nice on a phone and a,computer uh,not usually if you're just using the,standard,wiki content information,so today i'm going to be showing you,how i was able to go from,something like this which is relatively,simple,um to something like my calligraphy,services page,and you'll notice on the left hand side,i've been able to add,the same sections that were available on,the home page,and edit the information to look,something like this it looks very nice,very well laid out,it'll automatically adapt to mobile and,computer views because,i'm using the pre-existing section code,and overall it took a little time,to dig around and figure out exactly,what i was doing,but now that i know what the process is,and,what i'm doing it's it's fairly simple,there's not too much code involved,there's a lot of copying and pasting,and that's about it so i'm gonna walk,you through how to create you

Set Up Your Shopify Store For Beginners in 2021 | Debut Shopify Theme

i wanted to show you how to start your,shopify,site if you are completely new to,shopify,and you're thinking about shopify as a,potential website,to have your products or your services,on so this left,tab is where i'll start first you have,home,orders products customers analytics,marketing discounts apps and then lastly,online store any order that you get will,be on,this tab this product tab,here will prompt you to start to create,your product so whether they are,a product or a service anything that you,plan to sell for money will go,here since i've already clicked this i'm,just going to start by adding a,fake product um since i work with hair,companies and i have a lot of like,hair photos in my folder i'm just going,to start with that so i'm just going to,put a,you would add your description,you can also bold italicize and,underline specific parts of your,sentence,as well as include images and videos in,your description if you wanted to,as far as media these are the images,that you would upload and that would,show,up as your products picture so i just,used a picture from one of my things,that i already had,now this pricing inventory,and all of the stuff below here are,really important especially if you are a,product space business,if this is just one product so just like,i put here if this is a,16 inch so if we have 16 inch brazilian,body wave as our one,product and we have our image of it,then we would only need to put one price,here so if our 16,inch is 60. her,bundle then that is what you would just,put as the price,if it was a sale and the price was 60,dollars but originally it's 80,you could put that 80 there and it would,still show the 80 but then it will show,that it's actually,60 as the price you can also include,cost per item as well so you can keep up,with your margins and your profits for,each of the products that you're selling,you don't have to do this and like i,said down here says customers,won't see this but it could be good for,you if you just want to keep track of,certain things like that you can choose,to charge tax on this product,as far as inventory you can choose to,track the quantity,and you can check to continue selling,when out of stock it is up to you,if you are tracking your quantity you,can put the amount,of the quantity down here if you uncheck,this it just won't show up,shipping if you are a product space,business you would click that it is a,physical product if you're a service,based business,or you're providing like a digital,download or something digital,then this would just be unchecked as far,as the weight,you would put whatever weight per bundle,or,whatever you're selling i'm just gonna,put 3.5,ounces since i'm talking about a hair,product,as far as customs this is where you,would put all of your information,here if you choose the biggest thing,that i want to point out for your,product,tab is this variance you would check,this,if you have multiple options under one,listing,so if we go back to the top of our,pr

Customize Debut Theme to Shopify Dawn | Shopify Custom App

hello everyone my name is amul and you,are watching Shopify expert,so YouTube channel so in this video,quickly going to show you how I upgraded,this debut vintage theme to Dawn,latest Shopify os2,over 7 which is done seven you can see,7.0.1,so the debut theme is basically a custom,WC image not,so,if you want to have a look how it looks,you can I can quickly go,ahead and review it,this is the home page you see there's a,rendering CSS rendering issue with this,tab view theme with this latest Chrome,browser,uh,okay so you can see there's so many,things that are not by default available,interview theme,and so this is the home page if you go,to section,okay this is this takes you to the,product section,yeah and and then what if,one which will take you to catalog,yep and then if you add one product,this is a lot of things,and then if you go to,okay here,on the card page,this is how it looks on the,depth you see minifigure to check out,you want to keep everything,as it is,okay so I can close this one you can,already have seen it if you go to,preview,down 7pv,I also want to show a few things in the,customers I don't think customizer,graded dot dot so you can see this is,how the dawn 7 looks,and this is more cleaner modern,it looks modern here,cleaning,these features are not available,section page title to all the templates,title sectioning,Center text,and,nothing much,if you go to product page the one thing,I,have to add to this John thing of this,product description accordion which is,HTML details and summary and details tag,so,I used this custom app basically private,app,to add few section because the client,did not want to,have lots of custom code on the dawn,theme they want to keep all the sections,separate,so that,I suggested them to do this way because,this is more safer for future upgrades,so you can see I'm creating this,prescription which is here,this is a section coming from,the private f,and and if you go to,home page you can see I'm using this,uh private apps section,of few places you can see two three,three times on this so this is image,section,in this private app and this gives you,lots of options,so you can manage padding term bottom,background color if you want to change,it,select the image Center crop the image,of the center top bottom,image height weight you can manage,easily,Max wait basically this is a image with,for mixed screens uh the heading,heading overlay if you want to keep,overlay or normal which will take it on,the way down like this,it's it's taking a bit longer you can,see right there,uh and then,I can take it,on the screen on the image,heading color can be changed heading,size heading top bottom so this is,basically yeah,so top is basically if you take in the,number in the negative that will be just,opposite,top text so this is the text the button,top,text uh text overlay,yeah and I'm more like the text uh the,heading size of the text but the button,text,size for button textile,increase it,is because it's coming from the

Upgrade Shopify Debut Theme to OS 2.0 JSON Templage | Make it Faster Than Dawn Theme

hello and welcome my name is aman and,you are watching tue mint,in this video i'm going to show you,how,debut,is faster than dawn thing so basically,what i did,you see this is dawn theme 2.0,and i went ahead and upgraded my debut,theme to os 2.0 architecture,and this debut os2 is faster than dawn,theme 2.0,so if you see this speed score if if i,go ahead and view the report,you'll see there's a decline here,from 7 to,1 to 70,sorry 69,so this,decline is due to the fact that i,changed the theme,from debut to,wos 2 to dawn,os2 so let me quickly go ahead and show,you,after this,upgrade of ws2 theme,how it looks and behaves so it looks the,same let me publish it first,you get few,additional features that's what i want,to show here,so you can see i just unpublished this,drawn theme and published back this,debut os2 theme which i upgraded to,os2 architecture shopify online store,2.0 architecture,now,i can go ahead and view it,so everything looks the same,okay,but it loads faster now,and,it uses,ways to,architecture up to certain,um,aspects of os2,so now if i go to customize,you will see that i have access to,all the blocks on every template so this,is home page template you already have,the,add section here,so this is okay,but,you get the same,feature if you switch the template from,here to product,and you will still be able to add,sections which is awesome so that's what,you get,with,w 2.0 if you upgrade and it is faster,than,the,dawn theme which is awesome,you see i'm on the collections page and,i'm still,able to go ahead and add sections,which is awesome so you get the idea i,guess,the templates are dynamic now on debut,theme,and,they are using json template,so if you already using,debut theme and your store is running,slow i would suggest,you to go ahead and,upgrade your theme to you seem to always,to wonder,anyway so now you can see i'm getting,add section everywhere,i can exit it and this is how it looks,like,so everything,is like debut os like vintage theme,but,it uses this,template json template,for every template here,now after upgrading,awesome,all right so if you're using w theme i,would highly recommend you to upgrade to,waste 2.0,if you haven't done much kind of lots of,customization to your w theme,you can simply upgrade it to os 2.0,alright guys so,what i'm going to,do now i'm going to take the home page,and run it on this,google page speed,let's see,this is my dev store so it might be,a bit slower,i'm not sure where they keep,their store and the actual,live stores,but it it runs faster here i've seen,lots of people's,okay so on mobile you can see it's 70,which is,great right,oh 97,so,okay,it's theme.js jquery.js,so these are two whatever suggest if you,are upgrading to voice 2.0,split the,theme.js if you can,and this will,increase the,page load,on the mobile,the,initial,server response times with this,is what we don't have control over,because shopify handles,it but,what i can do now quickly,i can go ahead and add it,and a script which is

Shopify's "Debut" Theme: How to Connect Custom Google Fonts

what's going on YouTube my name is John,and today I'm gonna show you how to do,three things for the Shopify debut theme,there's a couple of limitations on this,theme namely fonts and text transforms,that I've been having issues with lets,we're today we're gonna change the font,for the headers for the menu and for the,buttons we're also going to get rid of,the force upper case text transforms for,the buttons and the h2 header which can,be very irritating depending on your,design choices let's get started first,we're gonna head to our admin dashboard,then we're gonna select actions edit,code first place that we're gonna go is,config setting schema Jason this,separates your fonts for the theme,settings this separates fonts and,heading in buttons fonts and body and,text body text fonts so the top one is,the headings and buttons fonts we're,gonna head all the way to the bottom,we're gonna copy this insert a comma,paste below and the font that I'm,wanting to use today is Pacifico so,we're gonna put Google underscore,Pacifico 700 700 is the only font weight,available for Pacifico under google web,fonts your font may have other weights,it also may have serif or sans serif,versions available make sure you put,those weights and the serif or sans,serif distinction and include those,underscores the label we're gonna use,for this one is gonna be Pacifico you,can put whatever you want and the group,is gonna be serif google web fonts,that's gonna make it easier for us to,find go ahead and hit save there the,next file that we're gonna be doing is,under assets we're going to go to themes,SCSS liquid and this is where we're,gonna knock out the rest of our changes,the first thing that we're gonna do is,get rid of those text transforms and the,text for the buttons these guys and,you're gonna find those on line 1640 or,there abouts here's BTN that's the class,that we need an edit what we're gonna do,is we're gonna find where it says text,transform uppercase we're going to,delete that,and we're also going to change where it,says font family we're gonna change it,from font stack header to font stack,body and in order to get rid of that,embolden thing we're gonna delete font,weight we're just gonna get rid of that,the next thing that we're gonna do we're,gonna hit save right there what we're,gonna do next is edit those header tags,now I'll just hit ctrl F or command F on,a Mac at h2 and right there where it,says text transform uppercase we're,gonna get rid of that now here's the,important part while you're here copy,font size just this whole line right,there go ahead and copy that,the next spot that we're gonna go to is,we're in search for site nav now this is,the class that specifies the SID the,settings for your menu right there now,what we're gonna do here is copies I,pasted that in font size that's gonna,change the font size go ahead and change,that to 0.75 it's gonna be,three-quarters of normal and we're gonna,put font family font stack header let me,just make sure
