all right what's up guys this is jake in,this video i'm going to be showing you,how you can go ahead and customize and,build a store using the dawn theme with,shopify so dawn is the new default theme,whenever you set up a shopify store so,we're gonna go ahead and take a look at,how you can,set it up to make your store look good,so first thing you need to do if you,don't already have a store you can go,ahead and click the first link in the,description,and you'll be taken to this page right,here and you can just enter your email,address and go ahead and start your free,trial and we can go ahead and get,started setting up your store,so once you've went ahead and started,your trial,you're going to be taken to the back end,of the store right here and we can see,that by default the current theme is,going to be dawn so what we're going to,go ahead and do first is take a look at,the base template of this theme and then,we're actually going to start building,it out so i'm going to come over here to,actions and click on preview and now we,can go ahead and take a look at the base,skeleton that dawn provides us so we can,see here that we have a little,announcement bar up top we have our logo,we have our menu and we have the cart,and search icon we have a nice header,wallpaper right here along with a call,to action right here,we have another little,call to action with some information,right here we have,four featured products right here in,this section,and then we have a media collage that,includes a video,a collection and a product and then we,have a video section down here and then,we have a multi-column section which,includes three different text sections,right here and then we have the footer,so this is how dawn looks out of the box,and we're going to do a couple small,changes to it but mostly we're going to,be,building out this store using the base,skeleton of the theme to keep things as,simple as possible so with that said,we're going to go ahead and come back,over here and really quickly we're going,to take a look at the things you're,going to need to go ahead and build out,your store using this theme,so the first thing you're going to need,is a logo if you don't already have a,logo for your business or your brand you,can make one over here at logomaker.com,or you can come over here to fiverr.com,and search for a logo designer and get,one made for relatively cheap the next,thing you're going to need is some,wallpaper photos because we've seen,especially on the header you're going to,need some photos to use for that so,these are going to be pictures that are,related to your brand or your product,and if you don't have any of those,yourself you can go ahead over here to,pixabay.com or,unsplash.com to look for free stock,photos that are related to your product,or niche and then obviously we're going,to need product photos as well as,product details so this is something,that i assume you would already have,and then in this case we saw that there,was a video

In today's video, I'm going to show you ,one of my favorite Shopify apps to completely
customize and transform your store in only about ,10 to 15 minutes from scratch so without wasting
time let's jump straight onto my laptop here and ,i'll show you step by step how to build a
beautifully custom shopify store with this ,no code page builder app incredibly important
considering that your store represents your brand ,and your vision and by the way i'll be giving
away this exact store i've built in this video ,to a subscriber more details at the end of
this video so to build out a custom shopify ,store today the very first thing you want to
do is go on to the shopify app store actual ,first step is to get shopify if you haven't yet
already and if you haven't yet already i'll drop ,a link to an extended free trial down below if
you want to follow along with this video now ,once you have your shopify store go on to the app
store and then this is where we're going to get a ,crucial tool and this app is going to allow us
to build and design a shopify store without all ,the custom coding and it's called gem pages right
here so gem pages they're known as this no code ,page builder on shopify and it's really useful
in building a high converting store without code ,it's essentially a drag and drop builder that
myself and the team have used to design custom ,shopify sales pages and the plan of attack today
is to create a custom one product store simply by ,using the gem pages drag and drop tools right
here i've spent some time before this video ,creating the brand and all the assets like product
renders brand name and whatnot i'm calling it to ,charge because we all need to charge our devices
that's terrible i know i have all the assets to ,go in my folder right here as you can see and so
what we're going to do now is build out our page ,with gem pages using all the files that i've
created here so head on to the dashboard and then ,click create new from here is click more types and
you can see that you're able to create a bunch of ,different pages based on what you want to go for
so a landing page a home page a product page etc ,and so let's just click for example home page so
there's a whole bunch of home page templates here ,there's also a whole bunch of landing pages the
theory here is i'm going to build a one product ,store so i'm going to use a landing page
only and i found the one that i want to use ,and it's bluetooth headphones you can click
preview to preview the template first or ,you can just click start editing so i'm going
to click start editing i'm going to give the ,the page name a name and then click header and
footer i want this off only because we're creating ,a one product store and we don't want a header and
footer at the bottom really quickly though you can ,use a completely blank canvas but if you want to

i have to take photos of this today i,thought it would be fun to show you the,process of shooting a product and how,fast i'm going to get a picture because,i gotta post a photo uh in like the next,half an hour you could watch and follow,along and uh all of that,in two minutes,these are perfect and you just need a,little bit,of a hit this is a diffuser softens the,light place the product give it some,foreground,a little trail,okay this is going to act as uh an,out-of-focus element in the foreground,these are great to carry in a kit for,example this light is magnetic tape this,to any surface you know what i have no,tape right now but i do have a band-aid,there you go,now you've got a light,on a surface that's not magnetic,using this keep it from rolling,incense,need some smoke in the background if you,don't want to add it in post just do it,in real life if you don't have incense,this is really good for just continuous,smoke that just keeps on billowing so,you just light it let it get kind of hot,and blow it out and it'll just smoke for,like 15 minutes or more,look at that look how good that is oh if,you get it right at the start,money,set up to go all you need at this point,i'm gonna shoot it on a 50 mil because i,want the out of focus elements at the,foreground to be super shallow so 1.2,it's about all of this is just nice,bokeh the smoke looks great in the,background this is just crispy in the,foreground you got a little bit of a hit,revealing,the light at the end of the tunnel if,you will also i'm going to shoot on this,and then we'll hop into the computer and,take a look at what they look like,shoot this on the r3,all right so i'm looking for,1.2 i'm on 1 500th of a second shooting,at f 1.2 iso 400,and my white balance is set to cloudy,because i want these to be naturally,warm in frame all of that can be changed,in post but i like to get it as close as,i can,in the camera,so you can see this glass right here,in frame if i move over you'll see the,glass is gone,but just covering the label a little bit,with some of that glass gives it,a front out of focus element that's just,really pretty,there we go that smoke's looking money,influencer,all right photos are done let's edit,them see how they look,oily hands,i hope you enjoyed watching this video i,hope you learned something and enjoyed a,behind-the-scenes look at how i shoot,product photos i might start doing these,a little more often but uh yeah hope you,had fun and learn something even if it,was something small like taping a magnet,to a wall,see you in the next one wait did i did i,pass the to the timer i went over didn't,i,i really struggle with that,see ya,you

bonjour in this video we're going to,learn how to create color switches like,this for our shopify product page you,want to learn how to do that,well you gotta stay tuned for that,before i begin this video i just want to,mention that we'll be using the shopify,theme called done in this video so what,that means what i'm trying to say is if,you're using a different shopify theme,or if you have a different shopify theme,then this video is probably not for you,because not all themes not all shopify,themes are written the same way they,will have a different template file,section files and so on so if you want,to do what i'm doing in this video what,i'm going to do in this video then,you're probably not going to be able to,follow along because you're using a,different shopify theme so make sure if,you want to do what i'm doing in here in,this video make sure that you're going,to use done as well so we're going to,divide this video into two sections or,two parts the first is setting up the,meta fields and then the second is using,liquid to access the meta field so,obviously we're going to code but don't,worry this is honestly really really,easy in fact we can do the switches the,color switches in just 10 lines of code,how cool is that so without further ado,let's open our shopify steam shopify,steam so without further ado let's open,our shopify store and start working so,i'm right over here in my development,store so the first thing that we're,going to do is to create the meta fields,so let's access the settings page let's,open the meta fields page and here we're,going to create one definition for the,variance so select the variance,and then we're going to create a new,definition so click add definition,and then for the name you can just call,it something like color,hex or just color it doesn't really,matter you can just select color and,then for the namespace and key,you can just change the my fields from,my fields to something like,color and then instead of color change,it to value so it's going to be variant,that meta fills that color that value if,you want to access the value of this,meta field and for the description you,can just leave it empty if you want i'll,just leave it empty and then for the,content type we're going to select color,so make sure that you use a like color,okay select color and then hit save,and we should have the following,definition or meta fields so the next,thing that we're going to do is to,create the values for our variants so,let's open the products page in a new,tab let me just open that and then i'm,going to select one product say for,example i'll select the sports watch,this one so you can just select any,product you want as long as there are,variants so here if we scroll down i,have the following variants so i have,blue gold purple and then black now keep,in mind the option is color so if you,have like say for example there are,there are cases that you have multiple,options not just color but also you have,sizes i don'

whether you are new to shopify or you're,already a shopify store owner you've,probably encountered a code that looks,something like this,this is shopify liquid a template,language created by shopify that serves,as a framework for all shopify themes in,today's video we'll take a closer look,at shopify liquid we'll start by,understanding shopify liquid further and,then we'll learn about its features,are you ready,let's begin,to recap shopify liquid is a template,language used for creating or modifying,shopify themes if you are familiar with,ruby you probably have heard about this,template language because it's written,in ruby or it's known to be written in,ruby but in terms of syntax it's very,different compared to other programming,languages we'll get back to this in a,minute in addition shopify liquid is,very limited like there's a lot that you,cannot do with liquid for example you,cannot retrieve a data from a,third-party server just from shopify now,what is it used for in web development,there are two contents that you can,render static content and dynamic,content static content is a content of a,page that stays the same and is usually,hard coded in html whereas dynamic,content is the content of a page that,changes depending on specific parameter,for example we have the following,product page,it specifically rendered this product,for cats because in the url we specify,that we want to render the specific,product in shopify this is called a url,handle and by changing this to a,different handle of a product the,product page will render a different,product this is how dynamic content is,being rendered in addition shopify uses,its own architecture or template files,to display these pages for example this,page is using product.json it's a json,template that uses sections to complete,the page taking a closer look at the,section files you will see that there's,a liquid code mixed with html css and,javascript so to put it simply shopify,liquid is like the middleman between,shopify stores and the server of shopify,where all the data about your shopify,store is stored and then when a shopify,store asks for a data through liquid,shopify liquid will ask the server of,shopify if that data that is being,requested is available if it's available,then the server will give it back to,liquid,then liquid will give that to the,shopify store's theme,otherwise if it's not available then the,server of shopify will just return a 404,error response shopify liquid is,categorized by three features,objects,tags and filters objects also known as,variables are wrapped in double curly,braces and it's used to output pieces of,data from a shopify store for example,this is a shop object inside of this,object there are properties or,attributes that you can use by using dot,notation let's say we use the name,attribute so you're going to type it,like this so shop dot symbol and then,name this will render the name of your,shopify store there are plenty of,attributes that you can use

hello everyone christian here and today,we're designing a clothing store from,scratch and we'll be using shopify's,newest theme,dawn you know the one with all the fancy,new juicy features from os 2.0,yeah let's get,started now if you didn't know dawn is,the first free os 2.0 theme released by,stopper5 now if you really don't know,online store 2.0,it's the future i made a video about,this so you can check it out right here,dawn is a flexible theme that includes,an adaptable layout site-wide,cross-selling sections and media,optimized product pages with this new,theme you can add sections to every,single,page which is pretty awesome,now in this video we're going to go over,the home page so we're going to design,the home page from scratch for a new,boutique called shibby's boutique,completely fictional but yeah,step number one install the theme,so now that we're here in our totally,nineties kid shop what we're gonna do,we're gonna use totally nine it's good,but we're gonna still make shippies,inside of toilet 90s kid just for the,purpose of um convenience,we're gonna go to online store,under themes,we already have it installed already but,we're gonna go through the process so,you know we're gonna click on explore,free themes,and then should be probably one of the,first ones so you'll see dawn it's free,and it's from os 2.0 so that means they,have some of the newest and greatest,features that shopify has released now,you'll see like some of these old other,ones don't have the os 2.0,um,badge so you want to make sure that you,get that one,that's the one that we're going to be,designing on,and moving forward and i would i highly,recommend to start using some of these,os 2.0 themes and if you have an older,one that you paid for you might want to,check with,the back end of your website because you,might have the opportunity to upgrade to,the new os 2.0 so everyone's going to be,upgrading these and i believe by the end,of this year,everyone should have os 2.0,themes on their store,we click on try theme,and this will automatically download the,theme to our store,that way we can manipulate it and start,using it,you can have a bunch of different themes,installed,on your actual,backend and dashboard and that's what,we're doing so right now we have this,live theme which act it's actually,totally nice kid but what we're gonna do,is we have this theme live library down,here and these are all the themes that,we have installed right here on on this,totally united skit website and what you,can do is you can customize these themes,and you can make them your own and once,you're ready to publish that then you go,to actions and then you publish and that,will bring this particular theme all the,way to the top and put this one right,here down here at the theme library so,just keep that in mind when you're,creating new websites,all right so since that one's still,installing i'm gonna go and manipulate,this one oh never mind it just added so,we're gonna actually click on cu
