hello and welcome my name is amelia and,you are watching tubemint in this video,i'm going to show you how to add blog,section to your shopify store,so let's get started,this is dawn theme,or dawn based theme and i'm going to,show you how you can add a new section,to your home page of your shopify store,so let's get started,so go ahead and log into your shopify,admin area i'm already in here,and then click customize make sure you,are on the online store section here,and then customize,once you are on this customizer if you,have a different template selected go,ahead and select home page,however the same,steps are going to be,followed,if you want to add a section to a,different template it could be anything,blog posts,pages collections or collection,or products page but in this video i'm,going to show you how you can add a new,section to your home page so go ahead,and select home page if you want to,follow along,and then these are the options you have,under home page template,by default,it's completely default theme,from github if you want to know how you,can install this dawn theme completely,free theme,from github i already have a video on my,channel you can go ahead and watch that,and install,it on your store if you would like to,use this free theme,also this is,a store 2.0 compatibility,so definitely want to try,so we are going to add this section here,at this,just below this,section which is a column section,so,on the left you simply click on this add,section and then these are the options,that you can add to your,template,and you can see these are all,options,but in this video we are going to just,add the blog post you can try these all,however i'll be keep coming and making,video on each,section type that you can add to your,home page,so go ahead and select blog,posts and also you remember you can go,ahead and,drag it wherever you want,but we are going to keep it at the very,bottom that's the right place,also,you can use this,view toggle button which will simply,hide this section,and show it back on the right side you,will get few options if you want to,change this heading you can change it,from here,if you want to select the different,categories,this is a news category so go ahead and,change from here,if you want to add this particular blog,news blog you can edit by this,link clicking this link you can change,it from here if you want to select a,different,category i would say or blog in shuffle,factor,you can also,decrease the number if you want to,let's say,view just to post auto,but i want to view three posts,if you don't want to show the featured,image go ahead and uncheck this box,because this will slow down the page,load,but i'm going to keep it up,uh if you don't want to show the date,you can simply go ahead and check it if,you want to display the author name,you can see this will appear just below,it,uh,i don't have any secondary image if you,have you can go ahead,check this box and it will start showing,the second image,view all but

hey this is michael steele a streamlined,retail i am outside the W Hotel in,Austin Texas I'm at the big commerce,partner summit 2018 it's been a great,conference so far,obviously they they've talked a lot,about some of the future plans of their,platform which were great they're very,informative as as a partner who helps,set up the commerce stores but there,were some some highlights that I wanted,to go over that as an independent,retailer are just a little bit more,applicable relevant to you in something,that you you can use this year to sort,of look ahead at what the new trends are,and selling online so essentially we,know amazon has a monopoly on the,commodity market they own that and then,you have in a close second you have,sites like walmart.com that are also in,play but really amazon owns that markets,and then you have what are called DN VBS,or digitally native vertical brands they,have sort of come in and owned the,private label online market that's,that's brands like Warby Parker bonobos,ModCloth sort of these independent,online only brands that are just very,successful so then in the middle you,have sort of these existing traditional,retailers who are struggling to keep up,especially online they're taking on a,lot of technical debt just in creating,and establishing new features for their,site and just getting online,and keeping up with the trends so they,talked a lot about just what's ahead and,how to keep up with those trends and,make sure what you're doing on your site,is actually growing your business some,of the the key things that were talked,about would be making sure you're,bringing in a level of personalization,that is gonna appeal to your customer,base and that can look like a lot of,different things but some things that,for a small independent retailer what,you would be capable of doing is just,creating a little bit more,personalization on your products and,that that could be kind of a build your,own custom product you could offer like,a custom bundle of products that they,can order anything you can do to sort of,personalize that shopping experience for,them you know a recommendation engine is,another one where where your customer,goes on and so it takes a quick quiz to,then recommend certain products that,meet that criteria of what they're,answering on the quiz a good example of,that would be like a trunk club or,stitch fix where you're getting a,personal level of service during the,shopping experience and you know another,way to do that would be to to have on,hand people in your organization that,are experts on the products that you,sell and so you you sort of offer this,you know customized experience,just guiding them towards the right,decisions the right products if you're,in home decor you could give them a,little quick consult on interior design,and it's just some of the products they,should be considering based on their,style based on what they have in their,home things like that another one would,be making sure that you a

hey this mic with digital t-shirt shop,show these t-shirt shops so I wanted to,show you my website how it's coming,along so I've made a few headers here,this is kind of my main one here with,the Marley wearing the cool pineapple,shirt I've got a made one for my,California teas notes I can only put,like five or six headers and or images,in the carousel that rotate here so I,thought I would make a couple of them,and then just kind of see how they did,rotating through the idea here is to I,guess kind of present some of the,different products product lines that,I've gotten here travel t-shirts being,have you come in to travel in California,I've got I've kind of taken all the,cities along the coast in California and,I've got a bunch of different travel,designs and made them for each city I,need to also make that some customizable,ones where they could put their own City,in addition to that yeah well I've got,the new ones that I have the ice I still,haven't actually made all the images for,them so it's kind of it's a little out,there I guess so,I've did a new header here with kind of,my little tie-dye effect here this is,probably gonna do something like this on,the back of each of the shirts one of,the things I'm trying to do is get more,into branding some I talked about that a,little bit later so we're kind of,playing with a couple of things related,this we might go through a few things,before we actually get there so the,three freight us-only and over here I,emphasized it free Freight domestic US,only kind of trying to play with that as,well I've raised the price of the,t-shirts on here I was going,go raise them across the board on all,the other sites and also give people,more more options mm-hmm so you know so,that up to 1999 before I was selling up,for $15.99 $14.99 $15.99 1199 but in,trying to get people to buy on here I'm,starting with just free Freight so all,the orders right now without free,Freight on them as I start to try to,generate some traffic and orders here so,they're not you know thinking about my,profit margin on these types of shirts,so I'm actually using a nicer ring spun,shirt the shirt costs about 250 the,printing process in general can cost,about 250 Summa but at about five,dollars per shirt on my costs so at,$19.99 naturally I'd be making about $15,a shirt on it but you take the 360 it's,gonna boot in a range from from 260 to,360 and Freight in addition to that on,it so I'm actually it's actually costing,me five six seven eight you know in the,ballpark of eight dollars not probably,on average per shirt or eight 64 shirt,so I'm really only making about eleven,dollars per shirt by offering free,Freight hmm and and it's gonna vary some,some shirts will cost a little bit more,to make so I'm sure it'll cost a little,bit more to make some shirts you know,instead of it costing 250 to print the,shirt it'll cost a dollar 50 you know,that's kind of how I've estimated the,pricing on it as I'm as I'm pre treating,shirts and printing shirts
