i've been a little bit bored this week,so i came up with a fun little activity,that's budget-friendly,involves active wear and is a good way,to kill time diy,my active wear wardrobe and i'm gonna,link some of the specific materials,and clothing that i used in the video,down below the first thing that i wanted,to do was bleach dye i've never done,this before,but i feel like these look really really,cool it's almost like a tie-dye effect,but all you need is bleach,so i just found a cheap black sweatshirt,from target and make sure when you're,picking,clothing for this that it is cotton or,at least mostly cotton it doesn't work,great on synthetic fabrics,i also thought this little jed north,crop top could be fun to do something,with and this one's actually a cotton,elastane blend,you're also going to need a piece of,cardboard this is just going to go under,your fabric,so it doesn't bleed through you're also,going to need a spray bottle,and of course some bleach all of the,bleach was in fact,sold out so i just used these little,bleach pods that i had,and then optional i also found this,little bleach pen i've seen people make,really,really cool designs with these so i,thought it would be fun to play with and,then also some masking tape so that you,can mask out,some little designs all right once you,have all of your supplies it's best to,do this outside because obviously you,don't want to be breathing in the fumes,and also if you're out in like the dirt,or the concrete or whatever you're not,ruining your kitchen floor i also,recommend wearing gloves because bleach,is not necessarily great for your skin,so i just dumped a few of the little,pods into a bottle and then totally just,guessed how much water to add,obviously the more potent the bleach the,better the effect you're gonna get,i placed the cardboard on the inside of,the sweatshirt,and i taped off the bottom in hindsight,i wish i would have taken,the tape even higher but for the most,part this blue tape worked amazingly,well from keeping the bleach from,splashing,or running into the areas that i didn't,want it then,you're ready to go so i started from the,bottom and made the first sprays at the,bottom very concentrated and then misted,them out as i went up which created a,nice ombre effect,i also did the same thing going up the,arms depending on the dyes that are used,in the material that you're using it can,turn brown orange green,this one turns like a pinkish brown i,also did a similar technique on the crop,tank but i came in from the side with,the ombre this one actually turned out,super cool,even though it was only part cotton once,you have all the bleach,on you let it dry for 20 to 30 minutes,then you can remove your tape and like i,said i didn't go up as high as i wished,i would have so some did splash on the,top but i took my little bleach pen and,tried to make it look like an,intentional spray mark after it's mostly,dry you're gonna throw it in the wash,with a little bit of detergent and th

there is like a constant Runway that,happens in New York no matter where you,are,the Uptown downtown Queens Bronx people,show up and really take their style,quite seriously,my look today is so 70s inspired I love,vintage pieces so I really wanted to go,for that type of look,the silk starp is vintage from Italy my,husband's grandmother left this for me,when she passed she's whispering in my,ear like girl you better go out there,and kill it a lot of my inspiration,comes from my relatives my mom's my,aunties Fly Girls I saw that all my life,and so I always wanted to be the girl,with the nails done the hairs done the,shoes boots on the purse it's a head to,toe thing,some of my favorite pieces this season,already I'm loving the whole chore,jacket but I love the little bit of,embellishment to it loving a looser fit,Jean I still like a little bit of crop,so I can show off the shoes I love,layers I love neutrals I think those are,happening right now and I'm loving how,we're just getting a little looser and,more relaxed it's sort of a new way of,dressing for me I used to be a little,bit more traditional and tailored I'm,loving this sort of more spirited way of,getting dressed walking around this city,and watching how people Express their,style whether they're 8 or 80 I still,live for that so every day I'm looking,to just soak it up and look for it I'm,looking for Style inspiration all the,time,this is a vintage St John knit Blazer,I just resold this button back on,happens these are the boots I got are my,favorite vintage store in Miami these I,got,in Venice Italy out of engine store I,have a vintage business called Club,vintage when I moved to New York when I,was 18 I was wearing a lot of heels and,like tiny skirts and that's not that,practical because you're like I gotta,get across town in 20 minutes and you,can't really do that in five inch wedges,so,even just in the Practical logistical,sense I think that yes my style is very,influenced by New York City it's also,fascinating when you just go from,neighborhood to Neighborhood to see what,changes and how people like they're all,their own microcosms of,Style,someone who loves fashion but is also,plus size it's often really difficult,pretty scarce so I would say definitely,like mutuals on Instagram who are like,fashion influencers I draw a lot of,inspiration from them I'm giving red,blue and green I feel like that's the,primary moment today this is a MOA Lola,had Indie Nigerian designer this is,probably one of my new favorite,statement pieces it's nor black nor,white the embroidery on the pants it's,just really really cool my nails are,like always a little statement piece,I think what's most unique about New,York style is that there's so many,people so densely concentrated and so I,think what I find really cool is that,you could be just sitting somewhere and,see someone walk by and that kind of,strike inspiration for you so I feel,like in many ways like this city is a,walking mood board I live in Brooklyn

Leisure i'm an,artist and an art director in the past
i've worked with skate brands,streetwear brands men's contemporary
fashion athletic wear,and even shoes as i've worked with these
different brands i started to,really take note of everything that the
designers were doing and every time,i would work with a different designer i
would take note of how they worked how,they sketched what they
took into consideration and these small,little
details and workflows that they had then,gave me insight on
what made a brand or collection so great,but inversely what makes a brand bad
today as we go through that i want to,cover some surface level things
and i also want to note that this is not,like talking about financial
issues or business structure because,that can also make your brand fail but
we're strictly going over,design aesthetic and uh branding
as you look at these surface level ideas,and deep rooted issues you can
fix them you can grow and you can,elevate your brand and your taste level
so one of the first things i want to,talk about is are you really a brand
or are you a person who is selling,clothes
when i look at brands that just start a,lot of times they'll just
kind of make a t-shirt maybe they'll,make a line of t-shirts you're like oh i
like this one i like that one i'm gonna,make these
i mean i went to a graphic design class,and i had a couple designs and
people that thought like they're like yo,this is really cool i would buy that
from you so it's like,okay all right let's start our brand um
as you start to do that though,i feel like that's a great start but
then how do you expand on that what do,you do to make your
uh entire entity something bigger than,yourself or just that t-shirt
when i look into that i want to urge you,to
explore different silhouettes different,styles fits
look at the lifestyle of your consumer,and have that
inform how your collection is made so,one of the first
examples i have is like skaters and,streetwear so

Happy New Year I have so much to share,with you today so let's jump into it,what am I talking about today I'm going,to talk about my all-time favorites my,best purchases from 2022 and I have a,lot to talk about because I'm talking,about all the stuff I tried in Beauty in,fashion and in lifestyle I'm gonna run,through it with as brief a description,as possible but before I get into all of,that again I just want to say Happy New,Year I am so very glad you're here and,that we are starting,2023 together I had a lot of fun with,fashion this year so if we're going to,start with that we're going to start,with my most worn item of clothing and,that would be jeans probably my most,worn throughout 2022 and even though I,first purchased these in 2021 I added to,the collection in 2022 they're the AG,ex-boyfriend slim slouchy straight leg,jeans these jeans in all I think I have,three of them now all three washes feel,like jeans you've owned for a decade,they are immediately that worn in comfy,super soft feel now they are slouchy and,so on sizing a lot of people say to size,down one if you're in between get your,true size best bet look at the sizing,charts I have really learned to take my,own advice and on every website on every,retailer look at that website look at,the sizing charts and get a tape measure,and measure yourself know your,measurements that is probably the key to,successful online clothing shopping next,and I would say these are tied are the,White House Black Market jeans curvy fit,specifically for me and Maurice's jeans,Maurices jeans brand new to me discover,them in the fall and I have absolutely,fallen in love with the brand I love the,sizing options to say they're inclusive,is an understatement they have four to,five inseam lengths depending on the,genes from extra short short regular,tall extra tall and then the size range,I I can't even remember it's expansive,extensive it's extensive that's a better,word the reason why I've tied them with,the White House Black Market jeans is,while I love the Maurice's jeans for the,range in sizes and the affordability,they do tend to skew a little younger in,that I mean there's sometimes a little,extra embroidery that I don't care for a,lot of them have distressing which I'm,not completely against but I am starting,to want less distressed and darker wash,which brings me to the White House Black,Market that's where you're going to find,not as wide a size range and definitely,not as many options in curvy fit or,length but you will find more,sophisticated let's just say jeans,options they're both outstanding they,both feel like butter and I had to,include them in my all-time favorites,for 2022. for leggings favorites I have,to mention the Honey Love 2.0 leggings,the best way I can describe them is they,give you the compression of Spanx and,the comfort of a Lululemon legging and,put them together so I love Spanx,obviously I think we all do because they,squeeze everything in and make us look,fantastic but the
