okay guys well hello there hopefully you,can hear me it's Andy here from sales,genomics we're going to have a,conversion rate optimization focused,webinar today and in particular we're,going to look at a couple of stores in,the jewelry niche as a way to try and,identify some key features and,functionality that will help conversions,with jewelry products and additionally,to try and you know identify you know,some of the stronger points in one store,versus some weak points in another so,that by drawing a comparison we can try,and work out how we can ideally develop,a store going forwards so I'm going to,look at two stores today I'm going to,start with a store in fact both stores,were discovered just through web,searches of Shopify stores in this niche,they're not picked for any particular,reason other than that they're quite,illustrative of what we want to go,through and so I'm going to start with,the first one and share my screen so,that we can all see so the the first,website that I'm showing on the screen,now which hopefully is visible it's,called a lulu.com,this is a jewelry website based on,Shopify we say you based I think Germany,primarily based company it's a it's a,well referred to Shopify store and blogs,and so on on jewelry stores as we'll,probably see as we go along however it's,not you know as well developed as as it,could be in there are some opportunities,for improvement yeah so when I first,arrived on this site you know one of the,first things I would look for in a,jewelry store is okay what's the image,we like you know jewelry's is really a,very visual product to sell and starting,from the top you know there's although,this model here for example is wearing,jewelry it's relatively small we can't,see very much detail there's not very,much to entice us to interest us you,know there's nothing particularly unique,or interesting so it's not as strong as,it could be we have a,kind of cell banner here which of course,you know bullet rats and people as we,scroll down we see these individual,focus products which really should be,best selling products although here it,suggests that then newer products the,images are relatively small and it's,quite difficult to see the products one,other thing you know one thing that's,quite useful on a jewelry store will see,this a bit later is to have more than,one view even in collection pages you,know people want to be able to look at,the detail of the jewelry product itself,but they also want to see it in context,they want to understand the size and how,it might be coordinated so one useful,way of doing this in product grids like,this either on the home page where own,collections is to actually have the,hover second image so when you hover,over the image here it would show you a,second which had loaded in the,background and ideally that would be a,lifestyle based image for us to be able,to see an alternative view there's a big,block here where actually a video would,load for this store actually it's I've,
