hey guys Chris J with Johnson script,here and today we're going to be taking,a look at Shopify Dawn,specifically how to make the buttons,route and I know that may seem like a,simple task but when there's no feature,for it it can get a little bit tricky,so let me share my screen here,now prior to making this video I had,built out a website using Shopify Dawn,theme for a business called Clarion,office furniture uh it's my uncle's,office furniture company so if you ever,need a chair or desk,um let me know or get you a great,discount but um you can see it's an Ecom,site that I built out using this theme,it's very clean very modern,um it really highlights everything I was,looking for in terms of a,one-page,um,web page with links to I can't really,say it's one page but one long scrolling,page with links to the product catalog,and contact information which is great,uh one thing I did want with this theme,was the rounded edges on the buttons,and,um I was able to accomplish that with,some of the views you can see and I'm,going to show you how I accomplished it,with the buttons here so one great thing,about Shopify,um well let me let me take you through,it first so,um here's our home center uh for Shopify,Dawn and I'm going to go down here to,the online store,and open up the customization portal so,you can see how the sections fit,together,um specifically,here's the button feature and what we're,able to do is change the text within the,button but what I'm trying to do is,change its shape it does have a check,checkbox right here which says use,outline button style but when clicking,that all it does is switch the colors,around that's not what I'm looking for,but going back,to where we were what's great about,Shopify is that it allows you to edit,the source code,of the website that you're building,uh for all you developers out there and,what I'm going to do is go down to,assets,um and go to base CSS it's a top file,right there under the assets folder,and if we scroll all the way down,I'm just going to add a single line,highlighting the button elements,as well as the,customer button,you can see it's even got preemptive uh,text there,and,um another button called the Shopify,challenge button,and I believe this button is for,um,one click checkout if I'm not mistaken I,might be wrong,uh don't quote me on that but what we're,going to do here is just set the uh,border radius,to 100 pixels,then go ahead and save our changes,and we can preview the store in another,window,and look our buttons are around how,great is that,um now let's go to my actual URL and,refresh this,and as you can see the buttons around us,as well so mission accomplished uh I can,get it to Shopify further I probably,should make a few more videos on it is a,excellent uh no code low code web dev,tool,and I'll definitely be making more,videos on it in the future so thanks so,much again,um please hit like And subscribe and I,look forward to our next video thanks,bye
