all right what's going on guys in this,video we are,going to be customizing the brooklyn,theme,within shopify so this is one of the,more popular themes and it's a free,theme so i figured i'd go ahead and make,a dedicated video,just for setting up this particular,theme here so,getting started here if you don't,already have a shopify store,uh set up and you're not already able to,get into the back end you can go ahead,and click the first link in the,description to start your,14 day free trial and then once you go,ahead and do that you can come down here,to explore free themes,and select brooklyn from this list right,here to go ahead and follow along with,the video,now that said let's go ahead and jump,right into it so,first off we're going to go ahead and,open up the customize section,and take a look at the actual theme,so this is what the theme looks like,when you first install it so you're,pretty much given a complete,skeleton here so we can see that this is,a pretty visual theme from the jump we,have a very huge,um banner right here comes with a blank,announcement bar,this is where our logo would be here is,our menu we come down here we have a,message,then we have some collections right here,we have a feature collection and then a,featured,product as well as a newsletter sign up,so in this video what i'm going to be,doing is we're going to just go ahead,and be,filling out the brooklyn theme,completely based on how it comes out of,the box so i'm not going to be making,uh many changes to the theme layout,itself,we're just going to go ahead and fill it,in the way it is,so before we get started there's a,couple of things that you're probably,going to want to have in order to make,this process a lot easier so i'm going,to pull up this notepad here,so the first thing you want to make sure,that you have ahead of time,is a logo so you want to make sure you,have your branding set up so your logo,and color,scheme because this is the type of stuff,you're going to need to go ahead,and design your store so if you don't,have a logo,i would recommend getting one or making,one yourself so if you want to make one,yourself in photoshop,or with a site like canva that's fine,or if you want to have one made i would,recommend going to,fiverr.com so f-i-v-e-r-r,dot com and you can get logo designs,there for around fifty dollars,and then selecting your color scheme so,the color scheme that you want your site,based around so this is essentially,going to be,based off the colors from your logo to,keep it simple,and then for this particular theme here,we're going to need,one or two wallpaper photos for this,banner image right here,and then we're going to need some,smaller photos that are going to serve,as collections,so brooklyn is a very product focused,theme so this theme works best for,stores that have a lot of different,products so if you have like one or two,products this might not be the ideal,theme because we can see here we're,trying to showcase off,multiple differ

HOW TO SET UP SHOPIFY BROOKLYN THEME | Set Up Shopify Store

hey guys it's happiness22 welcome back,to my channel and in today's video i am,going to be showing you guys how to,customize your theme with shopify as you,can see right now i am on the shopify,homepage and this is how your homepage,will be looking like and i am going,ahead and start customizing this theme,okay so i'll go ahead and click online,store,and this page will bring me up to the,theme page and now you can see right,over here i have a free shopify theme,which is brooklyn and on my previous,video i went through how to add this,broken theme on the shopify theme so if,you want to know how to add a free theme,on your shopify theme or i paid them i,will leave the video link i'm pretty,sure it will be popping up on this video,so you can go ahead and click it and,go and watch it so in this video i'm,going to start customizing this theme,so pretty much the same setting that i,am going to use to customize broccoli in,them you can also use,all these steps to customize all your,other shopify thing it doesn't have to,be brooklyn you can use any other theme,okay so to start editing i'll go ahead,and click right over here to customize,so this is how the page is going to look,like once we click the customize so on,this banner this is where you'll be,adding your product slides you can have,two slides one slide or three slides it,just depends on how many slides you want,and here is where you can put your logo,and you can scroll down over here right,over here you can put the information or,the message you want your customer to,know about your brand or anything you,want to say about your brand you can put,right over here,and right down here we have the,collection list so we'll go later on and,add our collection,and this is where all your featured,collections are going to be,and when you scroll down over here,this will be your featured product,and down over here this is where your,customers will come over and sign up,let's say you're going to offer a,promotion or,you want them to sign up because of the,new products you're going to,launch in soon so this is where they're,going to provide their email and they'll,they will subscribe okay,so in this video we are going to fill in,everything okay,but before moving ahead i would like to,recommend you to have like,like three to four things ready,one you need to have your logo ready,and also like maybe like six to,five pictures as you can see right over,here we're gonna have five different,collection,and also different six products so i,would recommend you to have different,six pictures and this will make this,process being so easy,we'll just go ahead and start putting,the pictures and the products and stuff,like that and it's gonna be done like,very quickly so i would really recommend,you have those things ready so i'll go,ahead right over here on the header and,i'll click header and,right over here on the logo section i am,going to click it select an image and we,are going to upload our logo so if you,don't have a

hi guys so the video you're about to,watch is actually a clip taken from one,of my recent videos in which i gave sort,of an overview and my review of every,single free shopify theme on shopify's,theme store so if you guys are just,first right now getting started choosing,a theme for your shopify store,i'd recommend you guys go check out that,video it gives a pretty good overview of,what the different pros and cons of each,theme is and like what your choices are,as far as themes go so i'll leave a link,to that down in the description of this,video,and i'll also link to it at the end of,this video but uh without further ado,let's just get started with this theme,review,speaking of which let's let's move on to,the uh the brooklyn theme so,brooklyn i think is like honestly so the,theme so far i'm like you know i'm very,uh,i i'll sleep on them like that brooklyn,i would not sleep on like it's it's a,really good uh theme they say it's made,for modern apparel stores,i found you can use it with a lot of,different types of sites it's not just,for,clothing stuff it can really be used,with a lot of different types of sites,so um,so if we look at uh brooklyn um you know,they say it's designed for modern,apparel stores it has a header slideshow,um dynamic product grid you'll see this,dynamic product grid is is pretty cool,um the rest of this i mean this is,basically like a lot of shopify themes,have this their slide out card is kind,of nice on this theme as well too uh,home page video you know that's just,once again you're just embedding a,youtube video which is like,i don't know why that's even a it's like,a,thing 70 positive reviews with 84,reviews that's the other thing is you,can see with the reviews here like 84,people have reviewed this so you can,tell more people are using this probably,than the other theme,um you got 70 positive generally people,like this theme um i would say like this,uh not to spoil things but this debut,um simple adventure i think and minimal,to a certain extent get to get the most,use from people um,if we continue on uh let's just like,view the demo store for this so you can,see it has like the big takeaways that i,want you guys to realize with this is,like so it has this transparent menu,that's sort of it's it's hallmark is,this transparent menu um it has this,huge uh you know it's great for this,huge slideshow you it has these two you,know you can switch the slideshow down,here or you can do here or you can also,make it you know automatically switch,like you'd expect with a site like this,um this is the big thing with uh,with brooklyn is like basically it,kind of dynamically adjusts the size of,the like featured collections and and uh,products i think,so,you can see that most sites this five,would be maybe it would be five across,or maybe there'd be like three here and,two here but they'd all be the same size,on brooklyn like it'll adjust the size,to make them sort of this nice pleasing,like,layout like this it also um,it also i

Shopify Tutorial Custom Collections Page Brooklyn theme

hi this is kevin king from Pinehurst,websites and today i'm going to be doing,a tutorial on how to create a custom,collections page on the brooklyn theme,previously i've done them for the,minimal theme the debut theme and also,for a standard one that could be done on,any but this is going to be specifically,so that you can easily customize the,brooklyn theme it's going to be a pretty,quick tutorial as far as the process,that you take but I thought a written,tutorial would be very helpful all the,codes gonna be on my site so you can,just cut and paste the code so once you,see how to do it it's going to be fairly,quickly but I'm going to show you right,now what we're trying to accomplish so,I've set up a development store on the,Brooklyn theme and I've just quickly set,something up here and what we're going,to want to do is we're gonna have a,navigation menu like this jewelry here,and it's going to be connected to,instead of the jewelry collection it's,going to have all the different sub,collections within jewelry so you can,have any page of collections that you,want to show and you can have more than,one so for instance you could have,bracelets could have multiple,collections under it and then when they,want to see designer bracelets they just,click on that and it goes to the design,of bracelets collection like it normally,does with the collection so let's see,how we accomplish this I mean just go,back to bracelets and I want to show you,what we're going to be able to do with,this so if we want to customize this and,add additional content to this we can,just go into the admin and this is the,customized under theme right here I'll,just show you real quick if you want to,customize your theme in Shopify you go,to online store and then you go to,customize and I've created new tab,let's that aren't in your theme right,now but they will be when we finish so,we're going to go to the page that we,want to be customized and once you have,the templates you'll be able to do this,the same as me so let's go to bracelets,and see we've got this section here that,doesn't by default come on this in,Shopify on the Brooklyn theme so we've,added this and if you click on this,you'll see that now we can add,additional content we can also select,all the selected all the collections and,we could show all collections here or we,can just do selected collections so,let's say we want to add a collection we,will have a new collection here and you,can see it's over here and you just,select the collection that you want in,this case we'll do one that's also a,bracelet since we're under bracelets and,this is pearl bracelets and all you have,to do is select that and then click Save,so now when we go back to our theme,instead of having the two collections,here when we click on bracelets we're,gonna have three collections showing,there and you can add as many as you,want and you can create as many custom,pages for groups of collections as you,want so let's get started and I'll go,thr

Designing A Shopify Homepage [Brooklyn Theme]

hey guys it's free and today I'm gonna,show you how I designed this homepage on,Shopify's most popular free theme,Brooklyn back when I was learning how to,do drop shipping I would always see,Brooklyn being used and it looks really,clean and super simple to use this,homepage is really designed to tell a,story and introduce product so if,there's a way to make this free theme,look incredible then that's what I'm,gonna try to do so let's dive right into,it one of the first things that I do,when I get a home page is just delete,all the sections because I want to start,you know completely clean most people,who use Brooklyn which is a lot of,Shopify stores they're probably going to,use the template that was there by,default so if I want to look a little,bit different then I should probably,just create whatever I want that best,tells my story here we have the home,page here this page is looking pretty,pretty buttery a better basics better,price the thing with your heading guys,is whenever you write copy especially,that's when it's gonna be the first,thing people see you need to introduce,the product and you need to be clear,about what you're selling,if not then people aren't gonna,understand immediately and they have a,way higher chance of bouncing but that's,pretty much it it's very clean I only,have one I don't like doing the whole,auto-rotate I think it's distracting the,next section is rich text it's just an,area for you to include some copy here,is where I want to start speaking to,that customer I'm trying to reel them in,for people this doesn't speak to you,that's fine I don't expect this copy to,speak to most people and we started,Sundays to Mondays as a tribute for one,particular type of man that friend who,wears a basic t-shirt every day in the,same color for various reasons that's us,and we come in all shapes and sizes,we're tall and lanky short and broad,with white horses and slim waists that,sounds kind of weird now reading it,that's kind of the idea is like Akili,States examples the people and it can,like kind of relate to you maybe some,insecurities that people might have here,are the bestsellers options I mean all I,did was add a collection,to it right around here if you get,people to read this and then continue,scrolling they're gonna be probably,interested in what you sell already at,least that's how I my brain thinks it's,really good to show them your heaviest,hitters if there's something that you,know sells well and catches the eye put,it here because it'll speak lengths but,this is just saying you know your here's,what here's what we're selling the next,part is a slideshow we do have these,testimonials here and I just found these,stock images on unsplash I believe or,maybe I even found them on canva it's,pretty much just like a little review,that I wrote for myself and my idea is I,would click on this it doesn't lead to,anything now but I could click on this,and see what kevin l bought and then see,his his fit if you go to the next pa

okay guys sorry it's been so long,um welcome back to another video,in this video i'm gonna answer a,question that everybody's been asking,in my comments i haven't been ignoring,you guys i have been trying to find the,answer to this problem,and it's just changing the background,for um brooklyn,the brooklyn theme on shopify,everybody's been asking me how do you,change the background can you do this,video can you do that,i got the answer for you guys right now,and let's get into it i'm not gonna,waste too much time,and as you can see we're in the shopify,store,uh a little test store and what you go,to is online store,your themes are gonna pop up on the side,here,uh i'll probably zoom in when we get to,it,but um i have mine,on like out of the password protected,i'm not sure if you'll make a difference,but,i'm doing this for the people who have a,live website,so what you do is you got the brooklyn,theme right here,actions click on that then edit code,uh and then from here now we're in all,the coding stuff this is,not as hard as you might think this is,very easy,all right let me close this so to start,all you need to do is work in the assets,folder in this folder let me see if i,can zoom in a little bit for you guys,okay in this assets folder,you just have to come down a theme but,before we do that,well you could open it up if you want,click on it theme.scss.liquid,and then what else you could do is click,on add a new asset,you're doing this to add in your image,so for me i would add in my flower image,flower dye flower.jpg so,jpg and then i'll click it click,open i already have mine uploaded so,it'll just come here like i'll show you,guys,boom look up here and it'll just say,update i already have this file uploaded,so i'm gonna um,exit it out but you want it under your,assets,and this is mine so it's like i can,click on it i can see it i got some,other images here but,i don't want to use those so what we're,going to do is,we're going to close these up,so we're going to go into the code and,in the description is the code that you,have to copy,so i'm gonna show you guys how to edit,that code too just in case,you're like confused so,here we go let me get that code for you,guys it should be in the description so,you go down to the description below the,video,and copy and paste it,so we're here i'm a scroll out just in,case you're on mobile,it should be good like this you come in,here,and the theme.scss liquid file,you scroll all the way to the bottom and,you see how mine is right here,let me delete that for a second this is,what you should see you should see,uh the last thing should be order,discount wrapper most likely,you'll just come down a couple lines and,then you'll,paste it in i'm using well i can just,right click it it doesn't matter i,usually uh,use ctrl v but you can just right click,at the bottom of the file,and paste and then it should look just,like this,for me right here i have the flower dot,jpg and that's right here this file,right here le
