welcome back graduates so today i'm,going to be teaching you how to add,another option to your store and that is,testimonials now i know yes you have a,review app you have all these other apps,we can get reviews a testimonial section,is more or less an area where you,feature your best reviews and it's,really really good to have because it,gives you that social proof it gives you,that edge over your competitors so,people can actually validate and say you,know what these people are really happy,holy crap i really want to buy this,product thank god these testimonials are,there so that's kind of what i'm going,to show you how to do and then you can,add this to the dawn theme and i'm going,to let you in on a little secret this,does work on all of the other free,themes that shopify offers,it really does but this video tutorial,is for dawn theme and for all the free,themes we probably will have a video for,each free theme that are out there um,just because people are searching for,that but anyways let's get right to it,i'm wasting time here three two one here,we go,so you're going to want to go into your,shopify admin,you know dashboard you want to click on,online store,and you're going to want to go to the,theme that you want to edit so dawn no,testimonials naturally that's the one we,want to edit so let's click preview and,then you also want to click edit code,right here now when you when you,actually get this download what you're,going to do is you're going to see two,files there's going to be a readme file,which i have open right here,and it's it's really that easy i think,there's there's literally one step one,single step so follow along closely i,won't repeat myself probably will as you,know you've been watching me for a while,you know i repeat myself quite often,alright so the first step here,is,you want to add a section called eg,testimonials dot liquid so that is a,section,and and it goes into the sections folder,so right here it is this is the,templates folder this is the layout,folder now we need the sections folder,we're going to click on add new section,paste that in there create section,and now what it's saying is,okay yeah you're gonna have to open up,this file all right my my tutorial file,is wrong i'm sorry,so eg testimonials are gonna open this,up in our text editor,whatever editor you want to use,i'm just using this one because i know a,lot of you don't have a code editor,but there's notepad plus plus there's vs,code there's adam editor there's sublime,editor for mac there's um,you there's text mate which i use,sometimes it's a pretty cool text editor,for free for uh max but,anyways we got our code right here we,want to copy this,but a bing butter boom here we go,highlight all of this and we're gonna,replace this right here,and we're gonna hit save,that's that's really it it's that easy,so now we're here we're on our preview,store there are no testimonials so let's,go and add these testimonials shall we,that's cool,um let's go here so

hello everyone christian here and today,we're designing a clothing store from,scratch and we'll be using shopify's,newest theme,dawn you know the one with all the fancy,new juicy features from os 2.0,yeah let's get,started now if you didn't know dawn is,the first free os 2.0 theme released by,stopper5 now if you really don't know,online store 2.0,it's the future i made a video about,this so you can check it out right here,dawn is a flexible theme that includes,an adaptable layout site-wide,cross-selling sections and media,optimized product pages with this new,theme you can add sections to every,single,page which is pretty awesome,now in this video we're going to go over,the home page so we're going to design,the home page from scratch for a new,boutique called shibby's boutique,completely fictional but yeah,step number one install the theme,so now that we're here in our totally,nineties kid shop what we're gonna do,we're gonna use totally nine it's good,but we're gonna still make shippies,inside of toilet 90s kid just for the,purpose of um convenience,we're gonna go to online store,under themes,we already have it installed already but,we're gonna go through the process so,you know we're gonna click on explore,free themes,and then should be probably one of the,first ones so you'll see dawn it's free,and it's from os 2.0 so that means they,have some of the newest and greatest,features that shopify has released now,you'll see like some of these old other,ones don't have the os 2.0,um,badge so you want to make sure that you,get that one,that's the one that we're going to be,designing on,and moving forward and i would i highly,recommend to start using some of these,os 2.0 themes and if you have an older,one that you paid for you might want to,check with,the back end of your website because you,might have the opportunity to upgrade to,the new os 2.0 so everyone's going to be,upgrading these and i believe by the end,of this year,everyone should have os 2.0,themes on their store,we click on try theme,and this will automatically download the,theme to our store,that way we can manipulate it and start,using it,you can have a bunch of different themes,installed,on your actual,backend and dashboard and that's what,we're doing so right now we have this,live theme which act it's actually,totally nice kid but what we're gonna do,is we have this theme live library down,here and these are all the themes that,we have installed right here on on this,totally united skit website and what you,can do is you can customize these themes,and you can make them your own and once,you're ready to publish that then you go,to actions and then you publish and that,will bring this particular theme all the,way to the top and put this one right,here down here at the theme library so,just keep that in mind when you're,creating new websites,all right so since that one's still,installing i'm gonna go and manipulate,this one oh never mind it just added so,we're gonna actually click on cu

hi there this tutorial will show you how,to create a new blog post in shopify,every shopify store comes with a,built-in blogging feature that allows,you to create and share blog posts with,your shoppers and audience it's an easy,to use feature that we always recommend,using as blogging can help improve your,website's search engine optimization or,also known as seo,so today we'll go over how to set up and,publish a blog post using shopify let's,get started,on your shopify dashboard go to online,store,then select blog post,click on add blog post to start prepping,your latest blog post,here you will see all the different,fields available let's start from top to,bottom in the title field you will enter,the blog post name,next up is adding your blog post content,in the content text box you will enter,the full post you can write out the post,here or you can copy and paste your,content into this text box,if you are pasting your content from,someplace else don't forget to click on,the clear formatting icon in the toolbar,this is a circular icon with a line,through it this will remove any,additional html or styling that doesn't,need to be here,you can then use the editor toolbar here,to format your content the right way,to add any formatting just highlight the,text you want to format and then select,the option,for example to change a line of text,into a header click on the letter a icon,and then select the heading option you,want to use,i would suggest using h2 for main,headers within the content and then h3,for anything that is a sub header,spacing sometimes gets a little weird so,make sure to add or remove extra spacing,so that your content is formatted nicely,and has an easy to read layout,next let's set up a bullet point list,highlight the content you want to set up,in a list format and select the bulleted,list icon,to add links to your blog post highlight,the word or words you want to link and,then select the insert link icon,within the link to field enter the full,url here,for the open this link in dropdown we,suggest selecting a new window so the,link opens in a new window and doesn't,take the reader away from the current,blog post they are reading,don't forget to add a link title use a,simple phrase that describes a link then,select insert link,you also have the option of uploading,photos into your blog post to do this,click where you want the photo to go,make sure to hit enter so that the photo,is in its own line,click on the insert image icon and,select upload file,select your photo,in the image alt text field add a,description of the image,for the size drop down if you resize,your images then you can select original,we usually recommend resizing images to,no more than 1200 pixels in width,if it's larger than this then select,1024x1024,so that it doesn't load an image file,that is too big which can slow down your,site's loading time,don't forget to align your image,click on the image within the content,area,and click on the photo icon,in the ali
