hello this is jay from data here to,there,and today i'll be showing you a quick,tip about how to enhance your product,displays,using the term 14 app for shopify,and so we're looking at a test store,here where we've loaded in a number of,products,and we can click on the view and online,store,icon here to just show what it looks,like on the front end,and so this is what a shopper would see,so they see the title,the images the pricing description,fitment information but let's say you,want to add some more,maybe you want to put in the,manufacturer part number or maybe you,want to put in a comment for special,order products that says,you know please allow more time because,it's a special order product,so you can do all of these types of,things,using the shopify liquid code and so,we're going to do today,is show you exactly how to do that,so let's pretend to be web developers,for a minute and uh,we'll go in and add that manufacturer,part number to,the product displays and uh now before,you get started you'll need,a few things so you'll need a shopify,store,uh you'll need some basic knowledge,about themes,and then copy and paste skills so let's,take a look at the product here that's,first on the list,so scrolling down,you'll see on the right hand side that,there's a number of,tags available and so we've added these,on purpose,we've added these so that you can,enhance your displays on the front end,independent of what kind of theme you,have so there's some useful things in,here like whether or not the,product requires a prop 65 warning uh,whether or not it's a ltl product uh,so if it needs like extra shipping fees,also if it's a special order product so,it might take a little bit longer,to get going so you might want to have a,display in your product about that,but also there's the manufacturer part,number so we've got this text in front,here,that says mpn colon and then the,original manufacturer part number,now sitting here in the tag is not too,useful,uh just hidden on the back end so let's,actually go into the theme,so that's on the left hand side of the,menu and we go to the online store,and then there's a there's a button here,where you can customize but don't press,that one,that's the one that goes into the,front-end editing,we actually want to go deep down into,the tunnel of,editing the code so click the edit code,button,and this is now going to show us the,liquid code so this is the,machinery behind the theme and you want,to go all the way down to,the product template liquid,and there's going to be a lot of,code in here what i'm looking for,basically is this the title now every,theme is different,so you might find it near the beginning,you might find it in the middle,i'm just going to keep looking there's,info about media,oh there we go product single title and,product price,so that's where i want to put it so what,i'm going to do is give myself some,space,and i'm going to copy over some special,liquid code,and this is going to show the,manufactu

hello this is jay from data here to,there,and today's quick tip is about the power,of filters,so filters can have a really big impact,on how your store looks,you can pick exactly the products you,want and leave out the ones that you,don't want to sell,so one of the simplest ones is really,just picking the brands that you want in,the store,so the brand selector allows you to,choose at a high level,what brands you want and which ones you,don't,the filters tab allows us to go into,more detail so here,we can pick the exact fitment so year,make model sub model in your range,that you want to carry in the store so,maybe you want,all your motive maybe american muscle or,maybe,japanese import or maybe you want to,have a selection of your own,vehicle types you know based on year,ranges and models,you can also select filters for,your ltl shipping if you don't want to,include products that have,extra shipping charges maybe you want to,have special order products,maybe you want to bring in products that,are universal fitment,you can set all of those filters here in,this tab,and then the next one allows you to,focus on the,categories so maybe there's uh you know,certain ones that you want to include so,maybe apparel maybe,engine components in this case we're,leaving out air intake systems,you can select and go through the ones,that you want you know maybe you want to,have,a certain style of uh or like a niche of,products,in your store and you want to leave out,other ones category selection allows you,to do that,so when we go to the product display,we can see the actual products that are,loaded in so here we've loaded,uh mishimoto parts and you'll see,there's maybe about i think there's,about 40 or so in here,but actually there's way more mishimoto,parts so where did they all go,well we can do a bit of a deep dive we,can go,to the turn 14 distribution app for,shopify,and then we can go into the filters tab,and so here,if you click the report button it'll,generate a list,of all of the products that did not get,into your store,and so this is a good way to then,find out well you know which parts did,get excluded and why so here we see,the brand so mishimoto the individual,part numbers,and then why they're rejected so in my,test store,i don't have ltl products enabled so,what this report is telling me is,there's actually quite a few here that,were rejected because,i don't allow ltl and then i've also,turned off special order,so these ones are rejected too and,as we go through the list you can see,that there's other category codes,so i didn't include uh fabrication in,the clamp subcategory,i didn't include air intake systems and,so again this report is just telling me,uh well that's why that product didn't,get loaded,and also too if there's fitment that,doesn't match my criteria the report,will tell me that too,so that's a quick way to do a diagnostic,into,why certain parts are loaded and why,certain parts are left out,and i can address that too so let's say,if i wa

hey there it's time for another quick,tip,so how do shoppers find parts in your,store,well today we're going to take a look at,a tool called fitment buckets,and these are a very simple way to,organize the parts in your store based,on fitment,it's really good for mobile shopping,where you need a big button to mash,so that you can find the parts for a,particular vehicle,what we're going to look at here is a,section of,mustangs so mustangs by generation,but we want to be able to show the parts,for,each generation so how do we do it,well let's find out,so what do we need today well you'll,need to have your shopify store,and the turn 14 app for shopify,installed once you have that we can get,to,creating the buckets and before we get,started,it might be helpful just to make a,clarification between,year make model search and a bucket so,your mic model search is where you have,a list of all the possible,combinations of vehicles to search for,and it's very very good for large,catalogs if you have a small catalog,or if most of your shoppers are using,mobile,and they can't click so easily on,combo boxes then the fitment bucket is a,good,simple solution so how do we create a,fitment bucket well first of all let's,go to the buckets window,and we can give it a name so we're going,to call this one,ford mustangs before 2000.,so we can add that in that's the name of,the bucket now we have to tell the,system,what kind of vehicles will fit into that,bucket,i'm just going to say all mustangs here,so well from i guess early days,so we'll pick the year say 1964,to say,99. so we'll add that in,so now what this is telling system is,that we want all mustangs,between 1964 and 1999.,so we can go ahead and save that,that now commits it so any brands that,are loaded will automatically go into,those buckets,and i'm going to add another one here,too so let's say ford mustang,after 2000 so,we'll take the same approach here we're,going to load in,the different types of fitment that we,want to put into this bucket,and actually by the way they don't all,have to be the same so you could even,have,you know mustangs and chargers and other,types of vehicles in there,the main thing is just to group them how,you need them for,your store so i've just decided here,that it's going to be good to have ford,mustangs,before and after 2000 and we'll also add,in,the shelby or sorry the svt so ford,mustang svt cobra,we'll add that bucket so we'll get our,third one um,in this case i'm going to allow any year,range,so we'll just leave those empty but i'm,going to pick the svt,cobra and there's actually a few of them,in here so,i'm going to add all three so svt cobra,svt cobra,10th anniversary and also the cobra r,so now that defines my uh cobra bucket,i've got my mustangs after 2000 and i've,got my mustangs before 2000.,so i'm going to go ahead and save that,now,and that will handle the data,part so the collections and necessary,tags will be created,behind the scenes but i still need to,tell my the

hello this is jay from data here to,there and today i'll be showing you a,quick tip,about our term 14 app for shopify and so,this app can load in turn 14 products,into your store and keep them,synchronized,now what happens if you accidentally,uninstall it,or what if you want to attach products,that you've already loaded,in before installing the app if you've,answered yes to either of those,questions,this video is for you,so here we are in a test store and we're,looking at the product details,for one of the parts that has been,loaded and now,maybe i loaded this a year ago and it's,got some great seo,on it maybe i've loaded it before with,the turn 14 app and uninstalled,for some reason the product is here but,when we scroll down,to the inventory section,it says inventory is managed by shopify,and so what this means is that,it's going to be managed by one of the,locations you have but is not connected,to the term 14,api so with the app installed you'll see,there's another option,called turn 14 distribution api and what,this does is it keeps the stock,live so whenever it updates which is,every hour it'll check you'll go to the,turn 14 api and make sure,that you've got the latest values now,that's great if we're going to edit a,single product,but what if we want to edit a whole,bunch so maybe you've got,you know a few hundred or a thousand,products in there,do you want to attach to the turn 14 uh,app for shopify,well what we can do uh we can go over to,the inventory section,and you'll notice that you can see,the products by location so we've got,some here,that are on the turn 14 distribution api,location and some i've got a custom,location here,that aren't and so let's imagine these,are the ones that we want to,attach to the app so i can select them,all,and then click edit variants and that,goes to another screen here that allows,me to do some bulk editing,but first of all we need to add a field,called the fulfillment service,and this is what's going to give us the,term 14,distribution api option so i can click,one at a time or i can click all of them,and you can imagine how useful that,would be if you've got a whole bunch to,change,and then we can just switch to term 14,distribution api just like that,and so when i'm done i'll just uh press,the save button,and now all of those products are being,attached,to the turn 14 distribution api location,meaning it will keep them synchronized,you know any other changes,that happen you can have you know titles,and descriptions synchronized and,shipping dimensions as long as,you also have those those options set in,the content tab,and so that shows you uh just a quick,way,either by an individual product or by a,batch,how you can attach products to the term,14,uh distribution api location thanks for,your time,if you have any questions feel free to,give us a,shout here at data here there so support,data here there dot com,or you can get in contact with me jay,and i'll be happy to help you,you

it sucks but it's true i mean there are,just things you have to deal with,in automotive e-commerce that other,folks don't have to worry about,it's not fair and you consult and cry,about it if you want to,but it's not going to change the fact,that your business just has its own,unique set of challenges,hopefully i can help pull yourself up a,chair,and let's talk about the features that,your automotive website,must have if you want a good user,experience,i understand it can be overwhelming the,added complexity that comes with vehicle,fitment makes it that much harder,for you to provide a top-notch ecommerce,experience,add to the fact that aces and pies are,the least standard data standardizations,known to man,and it's obvious why a lot of companies,just give up on trying to do it right,never give up never surrender a good,automotive experience,consists of three spokes that we'll,discuss in more detail,and those are findability compatibility,and value-added content the first thing,i want to talk about,is findability because nothing else,matters if your customers can't find,what they're looking for,findability itself consists of mainly,two parts categorization,and search with categorization you need,to not rely directly on your aces and,pi's data,and put a little thought into it think,about it,your categorization structure needs to,make sense to your customers,not the i.t person that set them up in,some manufacturer's erp,system 12 years ago the categorizations,that are going to come in your aces and,pi's data,are often deep and complicated don't,fall into the trap,of just using that standard understand,your customers,and cater it to them this industry has a,lot of customers that are passionate and,aspirational,or perhaps a little less technically,savvy and these customers,use categories they may be looking for,inspiration on their project,and even if they have a product in mind,they may want to see what else is,available,or perhaps they didn't grow up with the,internet and have,more time than technical know-how so to,cater to this audience,make sure your categories have some,common sense search,on the other hand is an increasingly,important aspect,of your site that you need to pay,special attention to,automotive sites usually carry a large,number of products,so a good search is absolutely vital the,problem is,people just don't know how to search i,own an agency full of programmers,and even there finding someone who knows,how to search,is a special skill and if it's a special,hard to find skill amongst the most,technical of us,the programmers that create code imagine,how bad it is for the average consumer,well we don't have to imagine because,the nielsen norman group,actually did a study and characterized,user's research skills as,incomplete saying it brings words like,pathetic,and useless to mine not great bob,and according to clevu site search,operators can generate as much as,13.8 percent of overall revenue and up,to,40 percent if you sell detail-

hi this is Steven and today we're going,to talk about directory chromium theme,installation I'm gonna show you how to,install the theme and demo data for it,first of all we need to have a clean,WordPress install I want to make it,clear that this installation is,recommended for clean what press install,only if you already have a website with,a theme and some content running on it,please make sure you backup the website,first because otherwise the results may,disappoint you and he may lose important,data a custom approach to a demo,installation once you have already have,a site with it content in it is,recommended so anyway we need to have a,clean WordPress install,and we basically need to go to the in,forest account where we bought the theme,you need to go to downloads and this is,an important thing to remember in case,of directory theme you need to download,all files and documentation not,installable WordPress file only but all,files and documentation so first you go,to like your nickname you go to,downloads then you press here and,download all files and documentation,this is important,okay so now we need to extract we need,to introduce extract the content of the,package you just involved it here is the,chromium directory folder this is which,need and the theme you're gonna be,installing they should notice that this,is a different theme different file,because if you would be installing all,other demos a theme you would be going,here and using this but in case of,chromium directories they need to go,here and use this file so in your,WordPress dashboard go to appearance,themes,upload theme and select the theme you,just downloaded then press the Install,Now button,you,you then go ahead and activate the thing,now go to begin installing plugins,select all these plugins you don't,really need any bundled plugins like,revolution slider or e-commerce products,filter plugin like some other demos of,chromium thing require this demo doesn't,require any of that but of course if you,want you can go ahead and create a,ticket and request those bundled plugins,and receive them and you can you know,implement them on your site as well but,by default directory demo doesn't have,any of those bundled plugins so you,don't really need them just all this,demo so you just go ahead,first install like just go ahead and,stall all these plugins,once the plugins are installed you need,to return to required plugins installer,and activate the plugins again so I've,told them and choose the bulk action,activate or and hit apply plugins should,be installed and activated,yes as you can see all the Prettyman,plugins are installed and activated so,now you need to actually install the,demo data this is how the theme looks,without demo data installed now we need,to go to appearance before demo data and,press,okay once the demo is installed you need,to finalize it there are still are a,couple of things that need to be done,before the demo is complete these are,pretty pretty easy things s

do an automotive e-commerce with its,huge SKU counts and all that fitment,data well it's complicated,pull yourself up a chair and let's talk,about e-commerce in general is getting,more and more complicated however add to,that the sheer volume of products that,most automotive merchants need to carry,and the complexities that come with,vehicle fitment data and you've got,yourself a good old-fashioned dose of,complication amplification we're gonna,cover the two most common problems that,automotive ecommerce merchants are,facing the first data now the automotive,industry realized that data was one of,the biggest things holding the back,years ago and developed the,standardizations known as aces and PI's,however here we are all these years,later and aces and pies are still some,of the least standard data,standardization known to man,the guidelines are there however many,manufacturers are still providing,incomplete data or they're using,features designed for French cases to,overcome limitations in their back,office systems instead of adhering to,the specifications and until everyone,gets on board with providing proper,ecommerce friendly data the companies,that can invest in cleaning up their,data have a significant advantage that's,a big investment for a lot of smaller,merchants and leaves the advantage with,the bigger players and the second,biggest problem I commonly see is,providing a pleasant and meaningful user,experience in regards to vehicle fitment,returning Auto Parts is often times very,expensive and complicated and your,customers know this this adds to the,stress that customers face when,completing that order it's more,important in this industry than most to,guide your customers to the right part,for their application and to instill,confidence in them throughout their,buying journey you just must have a,pleasant fitment experience if you're,going to be successful in automotive,e-commerce now that's not that,complicated to do if you're only,supporting a few applications but it can,take a lot of effort to do it scale,doing fitment well can be really,cumbersome on SAS platforms this is,really one of the strengths of a,platform like Magento where you have,access to the source code and database,structures the flexibility to design,your fitment experience and then,how's all the data to make it actually,function is critical not to mention the,ability to customize API so you can,efficiently manage and sync all of that,data in my mind currently it's just,cleaner and more scalable to accomplish,that on Magento versus a sass platform,in this case the flexibility and open,source nature makes all the difference,as always I'll leave it to you what do,you think about the current state of,automotive e-commerce do you see the,usage of aces umpires getting easier in,the near future,have you seen success managing fitment,on a sass platform or SMO Gento the only,way to go let me know in the comments of,this video do not let my opinion be the,only one that's heard
