hi and welcome back so in this video,i'll be showing you how to select a,theme for your store as well as,providing tips on what to look for in,the theme details which may help you,make a decision,now if you've been working for the,series you may have wondered why i've,left the theme selection until the final,third of the shopify setup,and this is because i think you'll find,it easier to select a suitable theme for,your store with your own products listed,and most of the shopify settings entered,okay so i won't delay any further let's,take a look at the themes by heading,over to shopify,okay to access the themes you need to,click on online store in the left hand,menu and then select themes,as a quick overview you can see a,section detailing the current theme that,is being used by your store,by default new shopify stores are loaded,with the dawn theme which is an online,store 2 theme,themes using the online store 2,architecture allow you to customize more,pages across your store than previous,versions where customizations were,mainly limited to the home page,when we look at the themes you'll find,that os2 themes are clearly labeled to,make it easier for you to choose,in the actions menu you can preview the,theme as well as access the underlying,theme code,moving down the page and there is a,section for online store speed,this is where shopify rates your store's,page load speed and provides you with an,indication of how your store is,performing compared to similar sites,some of the factors which can influence,page load speed include size of imagery,videos apps and animations,moving on to the theme library here,there are three options available the,first option is to upload installation,files for themes purchased from a third,party website,explore free themes presents themes from,shopify that are free to use,and next i'll click visit shopify themes,store where we'll find both free and,premium themes,within the theme store you'll notice,that shopify has group themes into,categories to help you find a theme,that's right for you,when choosing a theme it's important to,note that every business is unique,therefore i'd advise you to look past,the content that's shown in the demo,stores and try to look at the page,structure and any features that the,theme may offer,after all you won't be using the demo,store's content so i'd look to see how,easy the store is to navigate and,purchase a,product okay so let's take a look at one,of the themes,from here the theme developer has,provided a few points that they believe,the theme would work well for,under the main image you can see example,presets and these give an idea of the,type of layout that you may be able to,achieve,scrolling down the page and you'll find,a breakdown of the theme features,i'd advise you take some time to compare,this list with any other themes that you,may have shortlisted,moving further down the page and you'll,find a few stores that are actually,using the theme,i recommend that you visit th

Add a new page in Shopify | Preview the default Shopify page template

hi and welcome back in this video i'll,be showing you how to create a new page,for your website in particular i'll be,creating an about page for my,demonstration business i'll start by,showing you how the page template is,used and once you understand the page,template i'll then go on to show you how,to add the page content,now although i'm creating an about page,in this lesson you'll be able to use the,same techniques to create any additional,pages on your site,okay so let's head over to shopify and,get started,to begin i'm going to share the default,page template that will be used whenever,you create a new page,so if i click on online store in the,left hand menu,and then the insuring theme is selected,i'll go ahead and click customize for my,current theme,from the template drop down menu i'll,click on pages and as you can see the,theme has two page templates,one of which is for a contact page and,the other is a default,at this lesson i'll be discussing the,default page so i'll click on that,template,to understand the structure of this,template you'll need to look at the left,hand side of the screen,and here you'll see that each template,is made up of three components namely a,page header body and footer,with each component separated by the,horizontal lines,as the header and footer components will,affect the entire website i can ignore,these and instead i'll just focus on the,body part of the page,in this case you'll see that the section,used is a very simple one with no,customizable settings as can be seen,when i click on the page section header,and look to the right hand side of the,screen,so what this means is that the default,page template will be using the page,title and content that will be entered,when each page is created,if the theme you're using is an online,store 2 theme then you could of course,add more sections by clicking add,section,or you can create another template which,will provide further page layouts,for now i'll keep the page template as,it is and return back to the admin area,now the reason i've shown you the,template was so that you could,understand how a page is made up,going forwards however you would not,need to work for the previous steps and,instead start from this point onwards,okay to add a page i'll click on pages,from within the online store menu,here you'll see a list of all the pages,currently created,i'll be coming back to discuss the,contact page in the next lesson so as,this lesson is focusing on the creation,of an about page i'll click on add page,in the top right hand corner,as you can now see there are only a few,fields that will require completing to,add a page so to start i'll begin with,the page title which in this case will,be about,content is where all the work will be,done for this page,here i'll enter some text about myself,and the business i would also advise,including an image or video just to make,the page a bit more personal,for my page i will add an image by,clicking on the insert image icon an

Artisan Themes Training Session

hi there this is xavier from artisan,themes and welcome to our training,session,in this training session i'm going to,show you around the theme so you know,where to find each of the things you're,going to be using to create your website,and then i'm going to show you three,different ways you can use the modules,inside the theme,to create your pages now i'm going to be,showing you,everything with pepper plus which is one,of our themes and if you're using a,different theme then it's okay,everything that i'm going to be showing,you you can do no matter which sim are,you using perhaps the options are,different the styling is different,but other than that everything is just,the same so,let's begin this is what you see once,you install the theme,right this is a getting started page and,the first thing we,to do is go to the plugins tab in here,and install these different plugins that,you see here,now this one right here is not essential,it's not an essential plugin,but it's very likely that you will be,using this,other three so make sure you install,these plugins before you move forward,and then once you install these plugins,what you have to do is go to this menu,here the top that says pepper theme,so if you're using it naima or modules,you will see naima theme or module steam,and then inside it you will find this,link to the theme,options panel and by the way let me tell,you that,other than finding the theme options,link here at the top you will find it,inside the appearance menu so whether,you go to your,theme name and then theme options or,appearance theme options is just the,same,and you're going to scroll,here at the bottom you will find the,theme updates,and license area and what you want to do,is,insert your license id right in here and,then click on verify license,so that your theme is actually connected,to our website,and you know that you'll be getting,update notifications,every time we release a new version for,your theme this is super super important,so,get that done first we install the,plugins and then we come to theme,options,scroll down to the bottom enter your,license id,click verify license and then you're,good to go so once we have that,we stay here in theme options just so,you know,where to find some of the things that,you're going to be using so theme,options have,a couple of tabs here at the top that,you can browse,to find options that affect the whole,website for instance,if you wanted to change the layout of,your header,or the layout of your widgetized footer,if you're using one,or the colors for them or for instance,if you wanted to add,a logo so you do all that here inside,theme,options and it's important to know that,while we will be creating,content for our pages in the different,pages the options that you will,set up here affect your whole website so,you want to be creating,the whole header for your website on,each of your pages you do that,once by setting that up here in theme,options,you enter your logo you define your,he

Out of the Sandbox - Artisan 1.0 Home Page Setup

hello and welcome to the out of the,sandbox video guide to the artisan,Shopify theme homepage setup today we're,going to take a look at the steps,necessary to take your artisan theme,from a fresh install to a fully,configured home page that looks just,like our Phoenix demo and we're gonna do,this by going through all of the various,built-in settings of the home page,sections so that you can configure your,home page just like that we'll even,cover the sections that aren't included,in the Phoenix demo and take a look at,our other demos which would be the,Barcelona demo that you see here and the,Viktoria demo that you see here all of,these layouts all of these home pages,that you see are achievable using the,built in settings and features of the,artisan theme and we're gonna take a,look at how you can do that now but,before we jump into the actual theme,settings let's take a look at what we're,already working with on the Shopify,platform so here I am on my admin panel,and as I jump in here to products you'll,see that I already have products on the,Shopify platform and these products,already have titles and descriptions,variants prices all of the various,attributes you would expect to see with,the Shopify product these products have,been categorised into some collections,that we will be using to populate our,home page but I would assume that your,Shopify shop also has a number of,collections with products inside of them,additionally our online store already,has some blog posts configured these,blog posts have content they have,featured images we also have some menus,here set up in our navigation settings,that we'll use on our home page so all,of those elements are on the Shopify,platform if you needed any assistance,with adding products to the platform,categorizing those products into,collections or configuring blog posts or,navigation check out Shopify's,documentation and check out Shopify's,support resources for any assistance,with that kind of stuff as that pertains,to the platform whereas if you had any,questions about,theme itself hopefully we will answer,those right now as we jump over here to,the themes panel and we see that we've,got a live artisan theme but depending,on how you purchase the theme installing,the theme would be a little bit,different if you've purchased the theme,through out of the sandbox comm you will,have received a email with a download,link where you can go ahead and then,upload the zip file that comes in that,download link to add the artisan theme,to your Shopify admin panel,alternatively if you purchase the,artisan theme through the Shopify theme,store the theme will appear on this,panel here automatically and you,wouldn't have to go through the steps of,uploading the zip file so now with my,fresh copy of artisan added to my themes,panel I'm gonna go ahead and publish it,so that whenever i refresh my live site,I get to see all of the changes that I'm,making here in the settings editor and I,can access that settings edit

Shopify theme customization (including the new Preview Inspector)

hi and welcome back so in this video,i'll be taking a look at the theme,customizer in shopify as well as,discussing the creation of your,website's homepage and also how you can,create additional page templates,now the theme that i'll be working on is,the dawn theme however the ways of,customizing a theme will be the same,with the only differences being the,features available to you as they are,theme dependent,finally once you understand how the,customizer works i'll show you an update,that has been made to the customizer,since this video was first recorded,which will make editing the theme layout,easier,okay then let's head over to shopify and,get started,okay so to access the theme customizer,i'll click online store within the left,hand menu and then select themes,for this lesson i'll be using the,customizer for the live theme however,the same techniques apply to any of the,other themes in your theme library,the only differences you'll see are the,options available to customize these are,determined by the features provided by,each theme,before i begin i'll make a copy of the,live theme by clicking on actions and,then duplicate,shopify will then go and add a copy of,the current theme into the theme library,once a copy has been made i will rename,the copy by adding a version number,making a copy of your current theme,before any customization is carried out,means that if you make any mistakes,you're able to revert back to the,current version of the theme,while i'm still setting up the website i,will customize the current theme,however once the website is launched and,it's being used by real customers i,would always recommend customizing the,copy theme and only when i was ready for,the customers to view the changes would,i publish the copy theme and make the,updates live,like i mentioned i'm still in the setup,phase so i'll work on the live theme by,clicking customize,to begin then i'll give you a short,overview of the editor,so starting from the left hand side if i,click on the three dots at the top of,the page i can see the name of the theme,version number and who the developer is,so in this case i can see the theme is,supported by shopify,you'll also notice i can access the code,language any documentation and also view,the site,i'll cover language in an upcoming,lesson as this is another area that you,can use to really personalize your store,i'll close the menu and point out the,status indicator which shows how the,theme currently being worked on is used,by your store,in this case i'm customizing my current,theme which has a status of live,the other statuses that could be,displayed here are draft and trial which,will be displayed when customizing,themes from the theme library,so continuing down the left-hand side,you can see the title of the page,template followed by sections of the web,page,the first group relates to the page,header the second group is the main body,of the page and the third grouping is,for the page footer,this is important to k

[Tutorial] How To Build Your Online Store With Shopify District Theme

hello everyone,welcome to this quick rundown of,shopify's district theme,in this video we'll be taking a look at,the elements of district's homepage,we'll show you what each element does,and how you can use it to achieve great,results on your store,so first we need to download the theme,to do that simply find district on the,shopify theme store,and click on try theme,then come down here and click on,customize theme,which will bring you to the shopify,editor,you can see on the left side the full,list of elements that this theme,provides you with,we'll start here with the slideshow,element,here you can set the width choose,whether or not to auto rotate the slides,and change the length of time that each,slide is displayed,down here you can alter the content for,each of the slides,this is my header slide where i can,change the images for both desktop,and mobile views i can change the,heading here,and here i can change the alignment of,my text and button,you can do the same with the other two,slides in your slideshow,here okay the next element is the,featured grid,which you can use to promote your,featured collections,on district's default setting this is,two large images and three smaller,images,again you can change the name of the,grid alter the spacing,and set how many images you want to show,per line,you can change the placement of the text,to set it below the image,or over the image like this,you can alter all of these images,separately depending on what you want,for your store,here's the lookbook preview which comes,with a heading,button label and button link,below that we have the featured,collection with text,you should use this to display your best,collection and the products within it,you can change what the button says to,where it links and the number of,products shown in the grid,we recommend keeping it to a relatively,low number so as not to overload your,customer,the featured collection section is,pretty much the same thing,just without the text,the shop the look section is a great,inclusion,you can use it to show real-life photos,of your products,which you can then link to another page,on your store,you can also link it to your instagram,account to show how people are using,your products in real life,then set how many images to show in the,row on desktop and mobile view,the latest updates section is perfect,for showing news stories and articles,from your blog,you can change the title and the button,of this section,also you can set how many posts to show,and change other details about their,display,such as alignment and what they show on,the home page,the custom content section is your,chance to display a video on your home,page,you can use this as a promotional video,about a product,but it's also good to use it as an about,us section,this gives your store more human,presence,change the alignment here depending on,which side you want it to display on,your home page,you can paste the link to your youtube,video in here and set the width,it

Top 5 Shopify Themes for Clothing Stores

what's up christian here and today i'm,going to share with you the top five,themes to use,if you are a clothing store and i'm,going to show you at the end of this,video how to get the theme,use it customize it for free before even,purchasing anything,let's get started,all right so always as always just want,to preface these uh,theme suggestions these are just our,opinions and some of the things that,we've used within shopify,and again we try to stick with themes,that shopify provides,in their store they usually tend to have,the best support,and the best organization and structure,um,we try to stay away from the,themeforest.com which is i mean it could,be nothing wrong with them,but we just haven't had the best,experience with those type of things so,starting at number one,is warehouse now warehouse is designed,to be,uh for large catalogs of products so if,your store or clothing store that has a,lot of different products,maybe you have shirts dresses pants hats,jewelry a little bit of everything then,warehouse is going to be really good for,you so i'm going to jump in here and,kind of show you,how the back end or not back in just an,example,right of a preview of the of one of the,theme styles for warehouse,so this one has um again a lot,an emphasis right on the large catalog,so as you can see,one of the main things here is a search,bar right where you can actually,uh highlight different categories and,search within those categories so,um besides the search and the nice,navigation,and then log in the account the card,over here then,on this home page we also have a good,breakdown of different categories right,so these different categories again,could be from beanies and accessories,to running and shoes to actually phone,cases,so a large wide variety of products i,love that,i really really like on this one in,particular um,what they call the uh the different,color,options for the for the products so it,shows you right there,from within the the product collection,where this shoe in particular,could be different products different,colors i'm sorry not different different,colors,it shows you the reviews and actually,has the option to show you,how many units are in stock so again,talking about a large inventory,of products it might be good to showcase,you know how many you have,in stock i also like the option that you,know it shows you add to cart if it's,just one,one variant or if it has different,colors maybe different sizes and things,like that,then the button changes to say choose,options so when you click on choose,options,it actually takes you to the product,page,where you have just more information,about the product,i love this zoom feature you can see,this on,amazon so again this theme reminds me,very much so of of amazon and again a,large inventory theme,then this one also has integrated,customer reviews so you don't have to,add any additional app,to get customer reviews on the theme,nice some of the other things that i'm,going to talk to you ab

5 Shopify Themes We Are Currently Loving For Clothing Stores

All everyone Christian here.,And today,,I want to share with you,the latest themes to use.,If you are a clothing store,and you want to actually,stand out,,also stick around,to the end,for my personal,favorite theme right now,,So after the OWS 2.0 release,,there have been,a lot of new themes showing up,or popping up on the Shopify,theme store.,And the theme developers,are getting better,and better,when it comes,to making them more distinct,and just adding subtle features,and things to make them,look really good,and different from each other.,Because before I would say,,like a lot of these themes,have some,some of the same elements,and some of the same things,,but I feel like now,we're starting to,see a little bit more,wide gamut,of different themes out there,,and that's what we want,to talk about today.,Some of the top five,right now that we're loving,and you should check out,if you are a clothing store,or not a clothing store.,Really,,you want to check out,some really cool,themes right now.,So the first thing that we have,is Stockholm,by code supply code.,A couple of highlights here.,It's a very clean, minimalist,,has some subtle animations,and some unique sections.,Now, I do want to show you,this real quick.,So I'm going to click,on The View Demo Store.,By the way, it's $280,and then a lot of these themes,,like I've mentioned in the past,,they have different theme styles,and all the styles they're for,really is,just to kind of show you,a different look,and feel,of the site of the theme,before you actually,install it on on your store.,But a couple of things here.,These are the,,the unique sections,that I was talking about,the section right here,which just categorizes,your collection,so that Top's sales,,new arrivals and bags,and this kind of,store animations,and it just looks really cool,and nice,really cool,to just kind of navigate,through a section like this.,And they're using it.,And this particular style,on the very top,as is kind of like the hero,probably wouldn't recommend,something like this,for the hero.,But if you want to use a section,further down on your,on your home page,,I would definitely do,something like that.,This is another,sort of animation,that I was talking about,,just like this talk on,just rotating here,on this corner.,It just it just adds,an extra flair, right, to the,to the actual store.,And like I said,,when you hover over certain,things like the products,,you get this subtle,animation with the name,and then a little zoom,right there.,So just subtle things that,make this,theme just really pop for me.,And look at this.,Like when you hover over,the categories, bags, hat tops,,you actually get a picture,in the background,that moves with your cursor.,I've seen that being done,in other websites.,I've never seen it,done here on Shopify.,So that's actually really,,really cool.,We have a review section,popular and look at this,also subtle animation.,When I'm scrolling,,you get some sort,of parallax effect,with the images,that ar

Out of the Sandbox - Mobilia 5.0 Home Page Setup with Shopify Sections
