Shopify Debut Theme Customization | Debut Theme Design Tutorial

all right guys so in this video i'm,going to be showing you how you can go,ahead and,customize your debut theme within,shopify so debut theme,is the theme that all shopify stores,start out with,by default when you go ahead and start a,shopify store and if you haven't already,opened your shopify store yet you can,start your 14 day free trial by clicking,the first link in the description,so i figured i'd make this video because,debut theme,is one of the most commonly used themes,because it's the one that all stores,start out with and the view theme,actually looks,really good so right here we can see,that this is what debut theme looks like,when it's first installed with,absolutely nothing filled out,so we can see that we have where our,logo should be,we have a big header right here with,some text we have an image here,we have three images with text below,here we have,a uh empty collection and we have,another,um header type image right here another,wallpaper image,we have some testimonials and we have,three images down here,and then we have the footer so,right now we have a nice little template,but it's blank,so if you're looking to go ahead and,fill out,your um store using debut theme,the first thing you're going to want to,make sure you have is,a few key things so i'm going to bring,up a notepad and just make sure,because before you go ahead and start,the design process you're going to need,a couple things so the first one is,going to be a logo,so i assume you already have a logo at,this point if you're ready to start your,store design but if not,then make sure you get a logo first,because everything else is going to be,based around the logo,and then we're going to have a color,scheme selected,and normally this color scheme is going,to,be derived from colors from your logo,and typically,you're going to use one to two colors,to base your entire store around and,like i said these colors will be derived,from the logo and the next thing we're,going to need,is a couple wallpaper photos,so we can see we're going to need some,photos to go ahead and put back here in,this header,we need some photos to put back here and,this header as well,so if you have any large photos related,to your business,go ahead and upload them to your,computer or,put them all in one folder so we can go,ahead and,use them as backgrounds here and if you,don't you can use,different sites such as pixabay,to find free stock images that you can,go ahead and use,so let's just type in something like,fishing,so if you had a store related to fishing,you could go ahead and just,look for different stock photos here,or maybe you have something related to,yoga,or fitness you can type in a lot,of different niches depending on what,your store is based around,and you can use some of these wallpapers,to go ahead and put back here,now obviously i do think it's better if,you have your own,custom photos but uh you know not,everyone's gonna have that starting out,so if you don't you can go ahead and us

what's up guys in this video i am going,to show you that how you can add color,swatches in your shopify store so,currently on my screen you can see that,i have already added for this specific,product and we have different colors for,each of the t-shirt so you can also see,different colors uh swatches and on the,left hand side we have some images too,so in the same way we will be doing in,this video so i have already uh written,a blog post so you only need to copy and,paste the code and then you are done,with everything,but before copying and pasting the code,you should follow all the steps which i,will be showing you in this video so,let's get started so first of all you,need to go to your shopify dashboard and,here i am going to click on products so,i i'm going to create a new product here,click on add add product and then for,example i am adding here,t-shirt,all right then you need to add some,description then you should click on,media so i'm going to select one image,here,and then after you should add some price,for example i am adding 20 us dollars,then after you need to add some,availability of quantity i mean how many,uh products you have then after you,should go down and click on variants and,here we are interested to select the,color so you should click here for,example we have blue,red and yellow,all right so once you are done with,everything then you should also check,here this is also,something which is uh i mean uh,quantities of all the t-shirts and once,you are done with this then after you,should click on this drop down and click,on active,and finally you can also select any,specific collection but for now we don't,have we are not interested to select any,kind of collection,so now you need to click on save changes,so once you your changes are saved then,the second step is you should go to,settings,here you have meta fields,click on that then we have variants,and then click on add definition and,here we need to click on,add color,all right,and here you should write,color dot values,all right so once you are done with this,then you can add description for,representing this specific meta field,but for now we are not interested to,so let's click on select content type,let's click on color and once you are,done then you need to click on save,so our meta field is created now let's,return back to our products,so here you can see that we have these,t-shirts let's click on it and then,scroll it down and click each of the uh,product which we have i mean each of the,variant so let's click on edit,and here we need to select some images,so you already know that,we needed here blue t-shirt so click on,add image click on add image then we,have blue,and once you are done with this then you,need to click on,uh done button,so this image is uploading up till now,let's click on done,and then you should scroll it down and,down below you will be getting this meta,field color,so since this is blue color so i am,going to select the blue color here,then aft

Learn How to Add Custom Field in Shopify Product Page (Debut Theme)

hello everyone welcome back with another video and today we are learning about ,shopify product page customization and in this tutorial we will be adding a custom field in our ,shopify product page so for example if you want to take input from your customer on the product page ,if you're selling a t-shirt or if you are selling a label type product where you want ,name printed so you can ask your customer uh in your product page about that input ,okay before we proceed to tutorial don't forget to subscribe the channel so i can create more ,videos for you guys okay now i'm already locked in the back end of the shopify and when you go to ,the back end you will need to find product file in your liquid files in this case we are using ,we are doing that in debuting you can do it on all of the themes so i'm gonna go to edit code,and then i will find product file product good liquid file ,that's the main file which all of the theme shopify should have and when i click on that,i can see the product liquid file is pulling two sections one is the product template and ,one is the product recommendations uh as i already have uh applied ,the code before creating this video i'm just gonna go to the product template that's the ,file where we will need to add the code in order to create the custom field for our product page,now once launched once the file is open we will find,and form so ideally we are looking for the form in our product file ,let me see where it's starting from ,okay so here's the form and form and that form is ending here so these so this all liquid code is ,responsible to display all of the information which is displayed here price size and all of ,the information which is showing up here what we will do we will add a chord before and form ,and uh i have already created the port before so i'm just gonna copy the cord,required plus visible on checkout ,i'm just going to copy the code and hit paste and let's save the field,now when i refresh the product page,as you can see the field is showing up here,i can add name for so for example if you want your t-shirt to have a custom name printed on it ,you can add this and it seems like i have to add the quantity in the product page ,let's do that as well because that's displaying that product has been sold,out,there we go we are seeing add to cart button and ,when i add custom name on this field and click on add to cart ,here you can see the custom field on your cart page and when you go to the checkout ,page continue shopping here's the card page and when i go to the checkout page,custom field is also visible on the checkout page so if you are the shop owner and ,you are looking for that custom field you can easily find that on your product details page ,on your order section on the backend so if someone orders a custom printed t-shirt you ,will see the custom printed name whatever input you have received from your customer,so there are multip

there are a lot of new and exciting,things coming to the shopify platform,but one thing that i'm very excited,about is the new shopify theme which is,called dawn it has a lot of really cool,functionality in it that really expands,how much you can customize your store so,in this video we are going to go over,all the new things that you can do with,shopify's latest theme so without,further ado let's go ahead and hop into,my computer now,so i'm in my shopify store area now and,i'm in the online store themes area you,can see here i have an existing theme,already but to check out shopify's new,dawn theme you just need to go to this,free themes area click explore free,themes and you'll see all the free,themes that are available and dawn is,right here on the list so let's go ahead,and get this added in now,okay great so now that this is added in,let's go ahead and customize it and i'll,show you some of the new options so i'll,hit customize here,and now you have your home page that you,can design and add in different sections,on the left like you're used to and like,we've shown in other videos again you,can go down here and click on add,section to add another theme section to,this theme so we could just say blog,post,it'll add it in here and we can always,also,drag and drop it around into the order,that we want it to show up so you know,this this has been part of the homepage,editor for a while however the really,cool thing with the dawn theme is that,you can now do this for collection pages,and product pages as well so to get to,those,sections that you can customize you'll,click on this drop down up here,and let's do the collection first so,i'll click collections,and i'm just going to click the default,collection you can also set up different,templates if you wanted to stylize it to,all be different styles for let's say,the gift wrap is one style the,coffee mugs are another style you can go,in and create different templates there,but you can now see we have just our,regular collection page with our,products however now we can add in,additional sections so if we click on,add section,we can then see all of the different,images as well so let's add in a few,let's do an image banner,and then we can add in a email sign up,and let's add another one in,of,blog post as well so now we've got this,set up and we can go into each of these,individual things and actually start,customizing this for the collection page,so really cool functionality that you,can now use to really customize and,bring your branding throughout and this,is the same for the product page as well,so let's click again up here in the,drop-down click on products,and you can just click on the default,product again or if you click on create,template you can go in and create that,template name so let's just name this,gift wrap,and click create template,now you can see whenever we are up here,in this menu that we have our gift wrap,and you can then assign it to different,products as well so let's go i

hello everyone and welcome to the video,my name is mitch i'm part of the content,creation team here at clean canvas,and today i'm going to show you a,tutorial about how to set up the size,chart on your store,i'm going through it from start to,finish on my test store so if you follow,along hopefully you'll have no issues,and i'll be able to,point out any key parts that might be,finding difficult with this setup,and if you have any questions after,watching the video just drop them below,hopefully we'll be able to respond and,we'll be able to help you get to where,you need and get your store elevated to,a higher level and your customers will,just enjoy the experience even more i'll,just say this as well if you do like the,content we have be sure to like and,subscribe as we'll be putting out more,content over the coming weeks,which will hopefully help you know about,some features that you might be aware of,with your theme or new features that we,might be adding to themes that you might,find interesting you'll be able to find,out here first if you're subscribed so,with that said guys i'm going to get,into the video right now and hopefully,you'll find it interesting and we'll get,through it together,alright guys so first thing we're going,to want to do,is we're going to want to create a size,chart page because that's going to tell,our,theme where to show from so we're going,to go to online store,click pages and since i have no pages,created i'm going to,add my first one and i'm going to call,it size,chart it doesn't have to be if you have,like a more interesting name you want to,use you can use that,and then here is where we're going to,put in the information of the,basically the sizes you have three,options um,you can insert an image you can insert a,table,um or you can type it out but for me,i prefer using images because i think,they're a lot clearer and,the insert table feature it takes a,little while to set up so,i felt that creating an image in that,time was better,so if i click insert image these are all,the images i've added to my store over,time,if i didn't have it here i would just,click upload file but i've already,uploaded so i'm going to select it,and then from here i'm going to get some,options so under,image alt text i usually just put in um,so size chart,and then i would put in the name of my,store so mitch demo store,you don't have to put in anything if you,don't want to but a lot of people say,that this helps with seo,so this could help you you know rank a,bit higher if you put in more info,information into your alt text and,images so that's why i'm going to do it,here,now my image size is not a square it's,more of a rectangle so shopify is trying,to,recommend me to use large uh so,480 by 480 and i know that's going to,make my,image look really really bad i should go,with the original but i want to show you,a feature that maybe a lot of people,aren't aware of,and we're all about like you know,teaching people,new things about shopify so
