Shopify Website Design - How to Add Animations

in this tutorial i am going to show you,how you can quickly,add some animations to your debut theme,homepage,so,there you are sitting looking at your,page and it's pretty boring static you,go to other themes there's text flying,around,and things are moving,and,you are sad about it so,i got you don't worry i am gonna show,you some tips here quickly to put some,more life on this homepage,so like i said in the title,you can do this in five minutes so let's,get into it quick,and what you're gonna do is first go to,google and just put in aos animation,this is a library you can use for,animations and i don't,remember the url i always,get to like this so,this is library you scroll down,it shows you all kinds of effects that,you can implement,and you know it's called animate on,scroll so this is only going to happen,as you're scrolling,so all kinds of animations here all,right so,all the way down you will see some,instructions about,how you can add this to your website uh,you can download the files and stuff but,the easiest way is to just to have the,links for the cdn so first copy this,first link for css,go to your site,we are going to go into the code area,you see in this section you might be,familiar you might not be familiar but,in here you will go into theme.liquid,and down here if you scroll down,look for,a closing head tag this is,going to be right around here see this,so there's a starting tag on top and,there's a closing tag so right before,this we will paste that link we just,copied,and also then we need the other links,this is the js link copy this,back,this time go all the way down and now,we're looking for this,slash body closing body tag right before,that paste this,and then one last thing,copy this from here,again,go back,and right after that hit enter and paste,that,and hit save,so now you have the library available to,you on your website now,how we get that to work,it tells you right here you can apply,all these these data attributes,depending on what kind of animation you,want so you could study more about this,library there's more here,so what i'm going to do is i want to,apply an effect to,this hero image this text right,so i want this to kind of,fade down kind of come in,and,so first you need to find out whichever,element you're trying to apply the,animation to you need to get a feeling,of what you're looking for by the way,this is a dev tool with chrome if you're,in a different browser you might have,something else very useful and,as you hover over these tags you can see,there's this hero inner,so this is your main image but this part,here is this hero inner so that's what,we're looking for,copy that from there go back,and then we are going to go in here into,the sections area into,hero.liquid,do control f,search for that,and in here we are going to copy say,it is fade up,oops,okay found it fade down,so copy that,go back,and,you will put that,right here,so it has its closing,uh opening and closing code so make sure,you,have both,and

How To Edit the Homepage on Expanse Theme Shopify

in this video i'm going to show you how,to modify and edit the home page,for the shopify expanse theme this is a,paid theme,available on the shopify app store and,other places online i'm going to show,you how to edit this banner,the navigation here top header,these items here scrolling down your,messaging,how to change all of this select it,testimonials footer etc okay so the,first thing we're going to do,is we're going to log in to the shopify,admin,i'm already logged in so it's going to,take me right in,okay so you're going to see some things,you may see these where it says,customize theme,add domain name etc we're going to go,ahead and click on online store,we're not going to worry about any of,these other items right now,we're just going to go to online store,if at any time during the time that i'm,actually working on this,if i wanted to preview this what i,usually do is i'll keep,one uh window open here like this and,then i'll go ahead,and select customize i right click on it,and open it up in a new tab,just so i have access to come back to,this section and i have to go back and,forth you know uh to change things,so uh right now i'm gonna go ahead and,just keep the website here,now if we look at this,expanse was already installed,and we've configured it we've actually,made these banners,made the images,jeez pms,okay so now we've logged in we actually,clicked on the customizer,and we're in the back and if you notice,over here on the right hand side,we have some things we can do some quick,keyboard shortcuts and things like that,you can mess around with that later,if we scroll down on the center here,you'll see,your website okay now um if you,look up here you have homepage products,collections we'll get into this later,but you can actually edit these directly,as well there's only a couple of options,available for each one,um the only page that has this like,wysiwyg,editor is the home page so the internal,pages do not,right so that's why you either need to,pick a theme that you like that has a,cool,you know collection page a cool product,page things like that,or pick a theme generic theme and then,add to it with code,or apps okay a cool thing about shopify,is it does have this ability right here,to go ahead and click on and look at how,your website would look into mobile,so you can go ahead and look at that,while you're actually playing around,with it click on desktop and if you,click on full screen,it gets rid of all the menus together so,we're gonna go back to desktop,and this announcement bar here so this,announcement bar at the top we go ahead,and click on that,and shopify just changed the way it has,this whole it's called online 2.0,so now they have this whole new backend,you're going to want to click on the,actual,arrows now to do the drop downs well we,have messages,here that actually rotate for this,particular theme,so if you look at it when i click on,these they'll actually show up on the,right hand side here,so if you notice i can act

okay so welcome back this tutorial is,kind of an important one specifically if,you want to save,hours off your life uh when creating a,Shopify store using udesly now what,often happens is you get stuck in this,process of you want to make a small,change and then you have to keep,exporting updating updating the whole,theme waiting for that to happen then,re-editing and re-authoring and it's a,bit of a pain in the backside if I'm,being honest so this particular process,will,all that time out it means you can make,incremental changes to your themes,pretty straightforward you do need to,understand how the themes built and what,the structure is and I'm going to go,over this tutorial so hang around and uh,yeah let's get started okay so if you've,seen some of my previous tutorials you,would have seen that I've been working,on this and no it's not one of my,designs it is basically just one of the,e-commerce templates stores that you get,webflow kind of starter store,thingymabobs so if you want to follow,along do that and basically this is a,Shopify theme that's already on the,store and what we're going to be doing,in this particular session is just,adding some new bits we're going to add,a new section and a new snippet and then,also go through the how to get,interactions to work because that's a,bit of an issue when you using this,particular process and I'll show you how,to do that pretty easily and then also,just things like updating your assets,and whatnot okay so let's get started,okay so over to webflow and we're going,to create a new announcement area and,then holiday some other snippet.txt,somewhere so I can show you what happens,when you get a missing translation error,which we'll get into in a little bit,okay so what we'll do is create a new,section we want this to be CMS editable,so I'm just going to do some option text,an option text area,and then finally what we just need to do,is just make that into our announcement,symbol okay step one done now we're,going to add a snippet so what is a,snippet so snippet is basically a,repeatable piece of code that's being,used across the site that doesn't have,any cmsable elements it doesn't have,option text option text images or option,images or anything on the lines of that,it purely is basically just some HTML or,a for Loop like a product Loop or,something like that that basically gets,reused quite competitively all right so,what we'll do is we'll just go Ctrl e,we'll do the same thing,foreign,text option whatever so it's purely just,that but we can call this one missing,text example,okay,right so now when we export that that,will become a snippet all right so,one last thing we'll do just before we,go out we'll just add a little,interaction to this particular section,for the announcement that when you roll,over it changes the background color,it's not over complicated,snazzy okay so that's pretty much that,so that's pretty that's our section,that's our new snippet and we've got an,interaction all right so

How To See What Theme A Shopify Store Is Using

do you want to know how to figure out,what theme and other Shopify stores,using within five seconds I'm gonna show,you how to do that hey guys welcome back,I'm Zach and if you're new to the,channel learn all the secrets of the,e-commerce world simply by subscribing,to my channel and hitting that little,Bell icon so you don't miss anything and,today I'm bringing you a bit of a,shorter more simple video because as,you've noticed I'm not in my normal,apartment I'm actually back home because,it's spring break and so I'm living it,up back home and I'm actually going up,to Oklahoma so I'm gonna have a few,videos film there but yeah we're just in,a little bit of a different setting,shouldn't affect anything we're still,gonna have a good time I got a lot of,videos planned so real quick what I'm,just gonna show you guys is how to,quickly find out what theme a Shopify,store is using if they are using a theme,that has a name and I'll show you what I,mean by that so basically I have three,stores right here a sugar and cotton,gecko and possum Couture these are just,some websites that I found and like past,videos and I'm just gonna show you how,to quickly find what theme they're using,it's super super simple so what you do,need is you need Google Chrome okay and,this will allow you to right-click and,have this inspect element feature right,here okay so this is what you need so,all that you're gonna do is right-click,anywhere on the page it doesn't really,matter and just go to inspect and this,is for inspect element so as you can see,it'll bring up this little thing over,here and basically this shows the source,code of the page and basically all that,you're going to be doing is searching,for one specific part of this and so you,don't have to drag through and just look,for the thing know what you can just do,is make sure you click within this box,hit ctrl F and then what this is gonna,do is bring up a little search bar so,all did you have to do within the search,bar is type theme okay,and boom this actually came up right,here so as you can see it came up with,the highlighted theme a colon and then,copy of Brooklyn so that means sugar and,cotton is using the theme Brooklyn and,it'll show different indicators for this,but you'll get a really good feel for,actually what the theme is out of the,jumbled mess of,you're gonna be seeing here like if you,don't understand HTML or CSS it can be a,little bit confusing but pretty much,it's just themed : copy of Brooklyn so I,have the two other stores to show you,some other examples of what you can,possibly see so that's really it just,real quick once again you go to inspect,control F type theme and it'll come up,and they're there maybe theme there's,others theme mentioned like 9 other,times in here it might come up with one,of these later ones just keep hitting it,until oh here we go,clothing store 21 you say you just keep,hitting it until you get to this section,right here so theme copy of Brooklyn,right that's very easy so
