Getting Started with Wholesale Gorilla

thank you so much for installing,wholesale gorilla my name is matt and,i'm the founder of wholesale gorilla and,today's video is just going to be a very,brief,overview of how to get the basics of the,app up and running on your store so we,have a number of other videos,and support documentation sections that,can give you a much deeper dive into the,powerful features we have to help you,run your wholesale business but this,video's purpose is just to,do the minimum possible to get wholesale,up and running on your shop,so here we have our store wholesale,gorillas shop just a normal shopify,store,and we're going to set a discount rule,for this product here,integrated sleek cotton pizza so right,now it's 70 retail,so this tab here is just the back end of,our shopify admin for the same store,we'll go ahead and open wholesale,gorilla,first thing we're going to do is create,a discount rule so we'll go and click,this discounts tab,right here you're going to see a list of,your currently active discounts on your,shop,so next we'll go up here and click,create discount,and this is our create discount window,so the first thing you're going to do is,pick a discount level,it's set to entire store but you can,also choose to set a price rule for a,collection or product so today we're,going to choose product,and we're going to,select integrated sleek cotton pizza is,the product you want to set a rule for,click add,now next we're going to want to set a,customer tag so any customer with this,tag on their account when they log into,your store,they're going to see,this pricing rule applied to the product,so we're just going to keep it simple,and say,wholesale,so for customers tagged wholesale,integrated sleek cotton pizza,and we can set a percent off or a set,fixed price of the product,in this case we'll set a fixed price and,just so it's easy to see,we'll say 22.22 so we can really just,see where the action happens,um right here you'll notice this button,applied discount to all variants this,product in particular has three variants,so if you uncheck that,the variance will drop down here and you,can set a pricing rule for each specific,variant there,but in this case we're just going to,apply the discount to all variants,2 22. and 22 cents,and click save,and now we can see our rule has been,added to our list of currently available,discount rules,if for some reason you need to edit it,you can always click edit there to open,it up again,so now we need to,get this tag wholesale,onto a customer account,so i'm going to head over to our,customers tab,and in this case,there are a number of different ways,that you can create a wholesale customer,just to keep this video short i'm going,to choose an existing customer this,wholesale gorilla test customer,and open up their,account,and what we have to do here is in this,tag section is add the tag,wholesale,to the customer account,and save,now when this customer logs into our,store,our app will say okay they have the tag,wholesale on

Getting Started with Wholesale Gorilla

wholesale gorilla has an extensive,feature set that will help you manage,your wholesale business but in this,video we're going to go through the very,basics of how to get the app up and,running so the first and maybe most,important thing to do is to make sure,the app in bed is turned on in your,theme,so if you go to online store themes and,click customize,and then go to theme settings,app embeds,make sure that this,toggle is turned on in blue if it isn't,click it to turn it on and then click,save,now back in our shopify admin we can,open up wholesale gorilla,so in wholesale gorilla we use customer,tags to create wholesale pricing rules,and these rules are created in the,discount section so go ahead and click,discounts,and here you can see is going to be a,list of all of our active wholesale,price rules and currently we don't have,any running so let's go ahead and create,a discount,and you can set a,wholesale discount on the entire store,on a specific collection or on a product,or any of its variants,for this example we'll go ahead and,create an entire store discount,and then now we need to select a,customer tag so the customer tag will,tell us what group of customers will,receive the discount we're about to set,so we'll go ahead and use the tag,wholesale,and then you can set a percent off or a,set price discount and just to make,things easy to see here i'll do a set,price discount and say every item on the,store is,5.55,obviously this is a weird amount but,it'll help us,just see the app in action,now we click save,and you can see we have our first,discount created here,any customer with the tag wholesale will,see every product on the store as five,dollars and 55 cents so now let's go,ahead and add this tag to a customer,so we'll go to our customers tab,now we'll select a customer,and we'll scroll down to the tag section,and we'll add the tag,wholesale and save,wholesale customers can also be created,with our provided wholesale signup form,but for this demonstration we'll be,adding manually adding a,tag to an existing customer next we'll,head to the storefront to shop the store,as a wholesale customer,wholesale customers can,log in from our wholesale signup form we,provide or they can also just log in,from your normal,account login page on your store the,important thing is the customer tag so,it doesn't really matter how they log in,they're only going to see wholesale,prices if they have a tag that,corresponds to a wholesale discount roll,in wholesale gorilla so let's go ahead,and log in,and so now we're logged in as a,wholesale customer,so now you can see all of our products,are 5.55,and as you continue to browse the site,all the products on your store will show,this wholesale price,so this is just the very basics of how,to get things set up you can head to our,knowledge base to see a number of other,articles and videos on how to really,take advantage of all the powerful tools,wholesale gorilla has to offer,so check out the knowledge base and as,

Wholesale Sign Up Form

there are three different ways to create,wholesale accounts in wholesale gorilla,one is through our sign up form the,other is to use an existing customer,account,and then the third is to create a new,customer account manually,there is a lot to cover when it comes to,customers so this video is just going to,go over using our embedded signup form,and you can check out the other video to,see how to use an existing account or,how to create an account manually,so first i'm going to hop in to our app,and go to the customers tab,and over here where it says sign up page,you can add,a custom message here that appears in,the signup form but more importantly you,can use a few of these activation,settings to get the customer account set,up properly in shopify,so here we've added a wholesale as an,auto tag so whenever a customer signs up,through our embedded signup form they,will get this tag wholesale added to,their account automatically,we've set it to mark customers as tacx,tax exempt,and we've also turned off auto,activation so this means we will have to,manually approve the customer account,before they can start shopping in,wholesale whereas if we click this then,as soon as they sign up through our form,they'll be able to start,shopping as a wholesale customer,so let's go to the front end of our,store,and we here we have our wholesale login,link,i'm going to go ahead and create an,account,and i'll fast forward through this part,to,spare you,okay great so we have everything filled,out here not everything is required,these two fields are not required and,this actually address here is not,required as well,at this time we can't,make any customizations to this form,other than any style updates to make it,fit in your shop better we actually host,this form on our servers so it's the,same for every shop that runs our app so,making a structural change or adding or,removing a field would affect every shop,on the store,so we'll go ahead and click continue,now i deliberately caused this error to,show something here it says an account,with this email already exists please,log in with this email address to,contact us for assistance,so all of your wholesale customer,accounts are managed by shopify,over in your customers tab the same way,a retail customer account was,and shopify does not allow a customer,account to have an email address that,has already been taken by another,customer account so in this case we're,already using this support at,wholesalegorilla.net address so shopify,is going to reject that address,you can obviously change the,email address here,or you can check out the other video for,how to use an existing customer account,and to just properly set them up as a,wholesale customer,so,here we're just going to change the,email address that's used,click continue,and boom account created,so now,as the shop owner you're going to get an,email,that says hey you have a new customer,here's all their details,account status inactive so we did not,set them to auto ac

Net Terms

in this video we're going to go over how,to set up a customer with net checkout,all net checkout really does is that it,allows a wholesale customer to place an,order on your website without actually,paying for it right away so let's go,ahead and start to set up a customer and,we can see how it works in action,over in wholesale gorilla you'll see,there's a net terms tab so we'll open up,that,and we will enable net orders,most importantly we have to set a net,tag,in this case i'm going to set the tag to,net just to keep it simple,and i would recommend making this tag,different than the tags you have set up,for your discount rules,so for example i'll just save this we'll,come back to it,our discount rule is all products are 50,off for the tag wholesale,now you're welcome to set your net tag,to be wholesale as well but then every,single wholesale customer is going to,get net check out,i usually tell people to make a separate,net tag so you can just offer only some,customers net checkout if needed,so we set up our net tag,and we'll come to these in a second,we'll go to our customer account,and here is our test customer,and just like adding the customer tag,for wholesale discounts we need to add,our net tag,to this customer as well and tags are,case sensitive,so we'll save it,and we'll head back to our store,and let's add a product to the cart,cart,great so for net customers you're not,really going to see any difference at,first we're going to hit checkout our,shipping mode will pop up,and then we'll hit continue,and then the main difference is you will,instead of going to the checkout page,you'll be directed to this thank you for,your order page,back in wholesale gorilla,you can see on the net terms page that,you can set a message here you could say,something like thank you for your order,please pay within 30 days,and that would appear right below there,now from here on out it's up to you to,complete the order uh when a net order,comes in you'll get an email from us,saying hey you have a new net order come,check it out,and there'll be a link in there to where,the order is,and the order lives in the drafts tab,of your shopify admin,so one minute ago here's our order,wholesale gorilla test customer,and you can see it exists as a draft,order and we have our prices there,shipping,taxes etc so while it's in draft status,here you can change things around as,needed so,let's say actually for shipping here,i want to add this 10 fee,and,i don't want to charge taxes on the,order,we'll go ahead and save the order,and now nothing's going to happen with,this order until you send the customer,an invoice or give them some other way,to pay,so shopify has this email invoice button,you can click,you can add a message if needed you can,review the email,and this is what the,customer will see for their invoice and,when they click this complete your,purchase button it's going to lead them,back to your shopify store checkout to,pay for their order,now this notification is,de

Linking to Wholesale Forms

in this video we're going to add a link,to our wholesale login and sign up forms,into the navigation of our site,so we'll head back into our shopify,admin,and go down to online store,and in this drop down here you will see,navigation so click navigation,we don't have much going on here,but in our case we have our main menu,where our links are stored this might be,called something different on your shop,so in our case it's called main menu i'm,going to go ahead and click that,and we have home catalog and i'm going,to add another menu item,let's call this,wholesale,login you can call it whatever you want,wholesale porter portal wholesale access,and the link is going to be,slash a slash wsg slash,proxy slash,login,and then we're going to need to click,this little thing right here that pops,up in order for shopify to take,it and click add,and save menu,then you saved,so now back on our shop if we reload the,page,we'll see a new menu item called,wholesale login,and clicking that will take us to the,wholesale login page generated by our,app where your wholesale customers can,log in,also on this page is a link to our,wholesale sign up form,where you can have wholesale customers,sign up and add a little bit of extra,information and,do some fun features we can go into,later,but one thing i'd like to point out is,that you can also see up here we have a,login and create account button that is,just,inherent or default to the theme,now this is technically the retail login,section,but if a wholesale customer logs in here,they will still be taken to the,wholesale,account page and see all the right,prices,for your site and also if a retail,customer for some reason logs in here,they're not going to end up seeing,wholesale prices they're just going to,get taken to the normal,retail side of things and won't see the,quick order form and won't see wholesale,prices or anything like that,so everything will end up in the same,place,the only main difference is if you use,our,sign up form,you can use some of our sign up,functions such as auto tagging and auto,customer activation,where if you use the theme one,there isn't that much information that,gets in the customer account and you're,going to have to manually add in,the wholesale tags so you're still,welcome to use any signup or login form,you like,everyone will get to where they need to,go as long as they have the proper,customer tags on their account or in the,case of retail don't have any customer,tags,so be sure to check out our other video,on the different ways of creating and,managing wholesale customer accounts

Using Product Exclusions

in this video we're going to go over how,to hide or exclude products from either,retail or wholesale customers,so here is our product page for our shop,and i added,a wholesale to the title of this product,and retail to the title of this product,just so we can see what's going on,and the first thing we're going to do is,hide our wholesale product from retail,customers these would be customers who,are not,logged into your shop with tags on their,account,so we're going to go to our shopify,backend,and open up our products,we're going to find our wholesale,product,click it,and down here on the right you'll see,where you can add product tags,and so to hide a product from retail,customers and only show it to wholesale,you just need to add the tag wholesale,dash only to the product,add it there and then click save,all right so now uh right now we're not,logged in,as a wholesale account right now so if i,reload the page you should see,this wholesale product disappear from,the list,and there you go it's not there anymore,you won't be able to find it on the,search pages either,if someone did have a direct link to the,product for some reason,they could still access it as a retail,customer but no wholesale prices would,apply and they shouldn't have that,direct link unless you give it to them,for some reason,so next up we are going to hide this,retail,product from wholesale customers,so first we're going to go ahead and log,in,as a wholesale account that we've,already set up,and back on our catalog,you can see that our wholesale product,is now visible again because we're,logged in with a wholesale account,and now we're going to go ahead and hide,this,retail product from wholesale customers,so first we're going to go to wholesale,gorilla,and open up the settings page,and right here you're going to see the,product exclusion section,and any tags we add here if these tags,are found on a product they will be,hidden from wholesale customers,so to keep it simple we'll make our tag,exclude,and we'll save it,and now we're going to add this tag here,to the products we want hidden from,wholesale,so back on our products tab,we're going to go to our retail product,and in the tag section we will add,exclude,and tags are case sensitive so keep that,in mind as you are setting them,we'll save this,and now back on our shop if we reload,the page,you can see that retail,product won't show up for wholesale,customers now,and one thing to point out about,exclusions,especially if you have a lot of products,in your collection,there's a limit in shopify where,they only allow you to display 50,products per page for your collection,but if we exclude some items from a page,they don't allow us to go to the next,page to grab in items to,fill out the blank spots that are now,empty from the exclusions,so two things you can do to kind of,counteract this would be to,make your collection pages so they can,show,the maximum number of products possible,usually that's going to be 48 or 50.,and also

Gorilla Grow Tents

hey guys it is jordan guess uh today we,have a really special interview with uh,bronson cordell he is the ceo of,wholesale gorilla and they're just an,app development company that's building,apps on top of shopify,and i wanted to have him on today to,one talk us through just e-commerce in,general,talk about what,what can be done on shopify for an,e-commerce,business and then also talk specifically,about the different apps that are built,on top of shopify,that,solve solutions,or solve problems i guess that,if you for something that doesn't come,out of the box of shopify so we just,wanted to have him on we've got some,questions here um,you know hopefully this is helpful and,if you have any questions that we don't,get to today please drop them in the,comments section and we will try to,maybe do this again and address some of,those questions so,uh bronson i'll let you just introduce,yourself real quick give us a little,background i guess of what you've maybe,what you've done in the past i don't,know two years five years what however,far back you want to go and,just give us a little background,sure well first of all jordan thanks for,having me on this um really excited to,talk about shopify it's just such a,mover in in the industry right now just,of e-commerce of tech of everything so,there's there's so much that we can say,and i'm excited to answer a few,questions here,um my background comes more on the um,i guess managerial and leadership side,of things i helped run a company for a,couple years of small business,based out of louisville kentucky,from then i started my own consultant,agency,that led me to doing some work for a,wholesale gorilla and,once i got to know the owner a little,bit better we just decided that it was,going to be a great,match for us to work together full-time,so that's how i,came to be,involved with wholesale gorilla,the business itself is still pretty,pretty new um they started development,back in 2013,officially they had an app launch around,2018 um so it's still within the first,five years it's growing very rapidly,just there's so much demand within,shopify so,yeah yeah and i'm seeing that,um in cpa world as well,you know traditionally you'd have a,lease physical space brick and mortar,and more and more especially uh with,what's going on what's going on in the,past couple years,uh more companies are either being,forced to go online or they uh,they were already kind of moving into,that in that direction so,cool so i guess we can just kind of walk,through some of these questions that we,had talked about um,so bronson when is shopify the best,solution for an e-commerce uh company,because we know,uh there are other solutions out there,if you're talking to someone who's,considering different platforms,why would they uh,go to shopify over the other ones,yeah sure,so i talked to my team about all these,questions so some of this i have stolen,from them directly i want to give them,appropriate credit um but as we were,talking to you
