so,hi there my name is aaron short and,welcome to my youtube channel i'm back,with another line six helix,tip though actually this tip will work,on any helix product,or also the kemper the fractal pedals,any multi-effects pedal in fact,so here's the thing i play electric,guitar in a three-piece band,and i find when i take a solo the sound,really drops out because i go from,playing,full chords to single notes that's why i,put the example at the start the video,i used pg music span the box to have,some backing music,i played slightly driven chords and then,i went and played single notes,but what they did was i boosted the,volume with a clean boost and added,delay to fill out the sound and it works,really well,now there's several ways that you can do,this but in the past with,real pedals i used a clean boost pedal,and a delay,so i would have to tap tempo the delay,in,then press the clean boost and press the,delay button have to press two buttons,to get the clean,boost and the delay now what i realized,recently is that pedals like,the line 6 helix and multi-fx pedals,often have a volume boost included on,the delay block,now you might say to me well i can do,this on a helix with snapshots or,having two buttons two blocks come on at,once with one button,yes you can do that but this will also,save you a block,so this is also great for hx stomp users,and pod go users,because you can have two things happen,within one block which i find really,useful,for saving blocks let me show you what i,mean on the screen,so in the past on the helix i would add,a volume boost,i love this volume boost the gain boost,here on the helix,it's so simple and it's just at the end,of the path,so everything you hear is just raised by,5 db,i've set mine to 5 db some people like,3db some people like 6db,depends on how you play and what you,play but i usually have around 5 or 6 db,so again it's at the end of the path,it's just like the same person,turning up the level it's brilliant,you're not boosting your sound into the,amp you're just raising the overall,volume of,everything then i'd add a delay block,here and assign that to a foot switch,and i turn them both on now you can,assign both to one foot switch yes you,can do that i never did for some reason,that's another way you could do it,but you're still using two blocks now,this is what's awesome you can delete,this block you don't need it,on the delay you have a level so what,you do is you,turn on the delay i turn on the trails,as well and set this,to the 5 db instead there we go,and this is what i used at the start of,the video i was playing my chords,and then very simply i pressed on one,button and it turned on the delay,and it boosted the level obviously if,you don't want a delay every time you,boost you have to keep them separate,but whenever i'm playing a three-piece,band i always,solo with a delay and a boost so this is,a really great tip,that i've been finding useful for myself,again it will work on most,digital pedals in
