Hello everyone, we welcome you to a new season of Dhandha, where we shall give you complete information about product categorisation.,In the previous episodes we spoke about what is SKU and how could we create SKU codes.,Today we discuss what is UPC- what is Universal Product Code.,So without any delay, let’s begin with today’s video.,UPC- Universal Product Code is a type of code, which is present on the packaging of products.,It is used to identify an item.,A UPC code has two parts, the first one being a machine readable code,,which comprises of black and white bars and second,,a 12 digit unique number.,Now let’s talk about the purpose of UPC.,The purpose of UPC is- to identify product features like brand, item, colour, size, etc during checkout.,The biggest purpose of the existence of UPC code is to speed-up the process of checkout,and to also make inventory tracking easier.,Now, let’s talk about the parts of UPC.,You are required to pay a fee to join UPC, which mostly is 250$ for 10 SKUs.,Once you join UPC, first you’re assigned with a unique identification number 6 digits,,which would be your first 6 digits of UPC.,This number is for the purpose of identifying manufacturer.,Next five digits are UPCs item number,,which refer to the actual product.,A company is responsible for issuing these 5 digits and to also ensure the uniqueness of the numbers for a product.,A company decided this item number on basis of its variety like size, flavour, colour etc.,The last digit is called ‘check digit’,It comes out after many calculations, to show whether UPC is valid or not.,So now, let’s talk about the advantages of UPC.,UPC has many advantages for businesses and consumers.,Because UPC scans easily and identifies a product,,revealing its price.,UPC saves time, increases efficiency, increases productivity, puts an an end to manual work of entering product details,,tracks inventory with ease.,It also helps track production and distribution.,So, that’s it for this video.,I hope you would’ve liked this video,and gotten to know about UPC.,If you still have doubts about UPC, do let us know in the comments box,,so we could help you with the same.,If you liked the video, do share it, like it,and subscribe the channel.,Thank you! hello and welcome this is gregor from,a19 consulting,and this demo is for my a19 asset,scanner,floating barcode reader,so the reason i've developed this app,is that with ivanti service manager,currently you need,a separate handheld device,and that's about 500 or more,and then you need to install the avanti,asset manager,mobile application now those devices are,rather,clunky they are expensive clunky not,easy to set up,and bulky and you know not that user,friendly so what i've developed is an,application for android and you can see,it here on my,screen here and this application once i,click it will launch my scanner,so you can see i'm positioned over a,barcode,right now i could scan right now if,that's what i wanted to do or what i'm,gonna do,is gonna make it run in the background,and look at this i have a floating,barcode scanner button here,and you can see there's two,arrows here in the top right hand corner,that's what you use,to invoke the scanning so what i'm gonna,do,and this works anywhere this works,whether using a browser whether,using the google search bar whether,using a different app,so if that's ivanti service manager,ivanti asset manager or,even better what i'm going to do is i'm,going to actually log in,to ivanti service manager here i'm,logged in,i'm using my browser when i'm using my,browser i have,access to all the roles in ivanti,service manager,not just the asset scanner not just the,mobile,roles like self-service but all roles so,you can log in as a service desk manager,and use this you can log in as an,end user and use this and there's use,cases for that if you,have users that you want to scan,their own assets if you're doing,inventory you could do that,i'll have another video on that and,there's lots more tips and tricks that i,have,so feel free to reach out but today's,topic is asset scanning,so here i'm going to go into my asset,scan wizard that i've created,and you can see i'm positioned over the,asset tag i've got my button here,i just click it i on on the top right,hand corner,and i position my barcode reader on top,it copies the contents of that barcode,into my clipboard and then i can paste,it in,and there it is so it's as easy as that,i can look up that asset,and what my wizard does as well this is,customized,my wizard will actually go out and tell,you,if it has a match or not in the existing,asset,database in the existing hardware assets,and if it's not found it'll create a new,one if it is,found it will show you the existing,information and allow you to update it,but it will give you an alert telling,you that the asset was found,and the other thing you can do you can,scan po numbers if those are our barcode,you can scan serial numbers if those are,a barcode,for example if this i'm going to click,it again on the top right hand side here,i'm going to scan the top one this time,and paste that in there it is so if that,was my serial number i could do it,and another feature i've developed for,my,a19 asset scanning wizar

the barcode scanner allows asset and,inventory managers to receive,audit and manage assets,we will select receive,when the receive button is clicked asset,managers are brought to a secondary menu,this function will be used by warehouse,or stock keeping staff,when an order is delivered the delivery,node containing the purchase order is,attached to the palette or box delivered,once a purchase order number is entered,a grid is populated which presents the,asset manager with information about all,the purchased items on the purchase,order,this information is returned via the,live cmdb from kids dimensions asset and,inventory management pack,the asset quantity numbers on this menu,reflect the number of assets not already,received on the purchase order once a,purchase item row is selected the asset,manager is brought to a third menu,we will select the row with server and,quantity three,on this menu we can see that five,servers were ordered on the purchase,order the two have been received and,scanned,by three are to be received,we select the third server on the grid,the purchase order information is,populated beneath the asset,these blue fields are read-only and,cannot be overwritten,the asset tag is generated using the,first three letters of the delivery,location followed by the date and time,after scanning the asset serial number,the serial number will appear in the,asset serial number field,this is useful if using system center,configuration manager,config manager holds the serial number,of an asset in the net bios setting,which is automatically discovered by,sccm,through this receive function a,relationship is created between the,purchase order information and the,logical information discovered via sccm,this links support contract and finance,information to live asset information,discovered on your network sccm also,identifies the owner of an asset,if the owner's details are populated in,active directory this function will also,link location department and other ad,information to logical and procurement,data within asset and inventory,management,asset managers can also update the life,cycle status of the asset its intended,location,and its owner,through the barcode scanner,once submitted the information is,written to the cmdb via web services and,a second layer grid shows that three,servers are now received whilst two are,not,don't forget to watch the barcode,scanner manage and audit videos,contact case dimensions at info at,casedimensions.com

this is Kendall Ken's IT I'm excited to,go over my inventory control system I,built with Excel let's go over it so,this is an inventory control system it's,built with no user forms and just have,these five five tabs down here,and we start with the customers and this,customer tab you can add delete update,all the customer information right now,we have three customers in the table,next one is departments so you have,different departments for the inventory,that you want to sell next one is your,inventory you add to the update yeah,waste management so something gets,damaged in your stock you can waste it,out or you you receive stock you can,receive it it's all use used by bar,codes so let's say we received some,stock today so we did receive scan in,the item it's already in the list so,with it being in list if it wasn't in,the list you would it would,automatically add the bar code to the,list and then you would let you fill in,the rest of the supposed to come in so,say we received kind of those yeah we go,into this another 26 here in the table,say we had to waste one of them out we,may hit waste we scan it back in yes,and now in the waste over here you got,to waste next the next part is inventory,or the invoice my ears your your,customer data so you cuz,name so I'm actually gonna fill the,fields in for you yeah had item he's,worried scanning all items coupons add,one more item and say there's a 50 cent,coupon on this one,when I get you total say this first item,they decided they didn't want you can't,do returns when you do the sale you can,only do a return the item wait so so do,that next,so you get cash you printer sleep slip,clear everything see somebody brought an,item back its can put in the waste it's,pretty much on this inventory sit side,of it but this barcode right here this,is where you would print this out and,you can label all your stock with it so,when you're doing your inventory just,walk up scan the barcode make your ID -,any questions or suggestions please,leave a comment below thanks

hello and welcome to another episode of,EMS Tech Talk I'm Joanne Laflamme and,I'm here with rich reidman from reeben,workflow design rich and his company,will help customers improve their,warehouse and inventory management so,I'm gonna give rich a couple minutes to,talk about his business and what what he,does hey Thank You Joanne thanks for,having me here it's great to be here I,work with warehousing clients I've been,doing so for the past 30 years and what,I try to do is implement technology,solutions for warehouse to improve,productivity and improve the workflow so,a PMS is a great opportunity where I've,worked with a number of EPM s customers,to implement a solution a hardware,solution that involves barcode scanning,and technology to implement on a,handheld computer to scan in and really,extend the reach of EPM s into the,warehouse to improve productivity sounds,great yeah well we have a barcode,scanning interface called the BPT,barcode interface so that's kind of what,we're gonna talk about today and do a,demo of today in order to use that,interface of course you have to purchase,the interface from EPM s connect and you,have to purchase excuse me from EPM S,and you have to also purchase EPM s,connect with those two pieces from us,rich maybe you can talk a little bit,about what they'd have to purchase from,you to get the whole solution to work,sure what I do is provide a bundled,solution that includes the hard code the,hardware scanning and the software that,runs on this particular device which is,a hardened device for the warehouse,environment so it can be dropped it,could it's it's secured against dust and,moisture I also include the software,that runs on this device as well as the,software that runs in the backend and,that connection software then interfaces,to the EPM s connection and between the,two pieces as well as what I do is I,provide the training involved in,implementation help and assistance along,the way as well as a lot of times I'll,go into a warehouse and give suggestions,on how,improve the workflow as part of that as,part of that show that there is a,business case that will improve,productivity and generate savings from,implementing a bar coding solution,sounds awesome yeah all right well let's,uh let's take a few minutes to take a,look at the PT barcode scanner interface,from the EPM s's side and then we'll,actually barcode some transaction ok,great ok so what I'm gonna do here I'm,going to open up our little interface,here and log into it and this interface,is actually a Windows service which,means this is going to be installed on a,workstation in your network preferably a,server something that's going to be on,all the time because it is a Windows,service it's just gonna sit there,running in the background and waiting,for those transactions to come in right,so this is this little interface here is,where you set it up this first field is,our import interval so you can tell the,service how often you want to check if,you want

How To: Create and Print Bar Code Labels using LabelRIGHT Ultimate Label Printing Software

LabelRIGHT is a versatile application that allows you to design and print just,about any format of barcode label.,This tutorial will walk you through the process of setting up,and printing a basic label,A simple UPC label in this case.,The first thing you should do when creating the label in LabelRIGHT is to set your label size and layout.,Start by selecting the "Form" drop down,And then click "Setup".,You can either layout your form manually by entering in the label and form measurements yourself,,or if you are using a common label format, you can select one of the pre-filled forms.,For our example we'll use the Avery 5160 form.,In the Form Setup window select the "File Menu" and then "Open".,Browse to the Form Layouts folder which is part of the LabelRIGHT samples we provided.,Select "Avery" as the files of type, and then click on the 5160 form.,The next screen displays dimensions of the individual labels as well as the layout,of the rows and columns on the page.,The Form Setup screen gives you an overview of the form layout on the left.,As you can see the 5160 stock has 30 labels per sheet.,Taking a closer look at the dimensions of the 5160 stock you can see that there,is a top margin of 1/2 an inch. The top margin is the measurement from the top,of the sheet to where the first row labels begins.,Similarly, the left margin is the measurement between the left side of the,sheet to where the first column of labels begins .210 inches in this case.,There are 10 rows of labels on each page, with a new row, also known as a row offset starting every 1 inch.,Likewise there are three columns of labels with a new column or offset starting every 2.75 inches.,If you happen to be using a non-standard, or less common label stock, and you don't,find a pre-built form in our samples, you can simply uncheck the "Auto Fitting" option form dimensions yourself.,When the form displayed matches your label stock you're ready to start designing.,Click OK to get back to the design screen.,The screen now displays one label 2.625 inch wide and 1 inch tall.,To add a bar code to the label click on "Bar Code Tool" at the top of the screen,and then click on the label to place that bar code - don't worry about,positioning just yet as you'll be able to move the bar code around your label,later on. The new Field Dialog Box now appears on your screen. This dialog allows,you to control the details of each individual element going on your label.,Since this is a bar code field let's start by selecting the type of Bar Code.,Click on the "Font" button and you'll see a variety of bar code symbologies listed.,In this case we're going to select a UPC and EAN,Set the option to UPC-A,and "No Supplements","Density" controls the width of the printed bar code.,Set that to "Medium" for a standard sized symbol,Size determines the height of the barcode.,We don't want this barcode to take up too much of the label so for the time being,we'll set it to 36 points or approximately 1/2 inch high.,When
