hey guys chrisfix here today we're at,east coast supercharging in cream ridge,new jersey these guys built some of the,fastest Corvettes in the world but we,aren't here with the Corvette we're here,with a stock 2008 Honda Civic Si why you,might ask well you guys asked me to test,a fuel additive to see if it actually,creates more horsepower so we're going,to test clean boost max this is a fuel,supplement you add to the gas according,to the bottle this is supposed to,increase horsepower fuel economy and,decrease emissions in gas or diesel,engines so we're specifically going to,test their claims that will increase,horsepower and torque what we're going,to do is we're going to take this Honda,Civic and put it on a dynamometer also,known as a dyno to see how much power it,makes before we add clean boost max and,then test it again after we add it to,the gas to see if there's any increase a,dyno is like a lie detector for cars it,gives the true horsepower reading to the,wheels in here we have the dyno we'll be,using for the test there are two main,types of dinos this dyno is a hub Dyna,you take the wheels off and connect it,directly to your hubs the benefit of,this there's no wheel spin and no tire,friction to take into account so this is,a very accurate dyno which is perfect,for what we're doing the other type of,dyno is a rolling road style dyno that,style dyno has large drums that the,tires sit in between and that's kind of,like a treadmill for cars,since the hub dyno is so accurate we're,going to be able to use this to compare,the baseline horsepower and torque,readings to the clean boost max,horsepower and torque readings so that's,enough background information let's get,this test started as we get the car,hooked up on the dyno let me explain,what we're doing we're doing three,baseline runs to get the horsepower and,torque that the car makes without any,add of in it then we're going to go and,put the EDD in the gas drive around for,a little bit make sure it's all stirred,up come back and then do three more runs,with clean boost max in the gas we want,to see if there's an increase in,horsepower and torque,if the add of works we'll see a,consistently larger horsepower and,torque reading and if it doesn't work,the horsepower and torque readings will,either be the same or even less so let's,get these three baseline runs in this,car makes 195 horsepower at the engine,any ideas of what you think it's going,to be at the wheels here's the first run,for this run we made 167 horsepower,129 foot-pounds of torque here's run to,for this run we made 163 horsepower and,126 foot-pounds of torque so a little,bit lower and then here's rung 3,for this run we made our lowest numbers,at 161 horsepower and 123 foot-pounds of,torque so our first run in the red made,the most power at 167 horsepower and 129,foot-pounds of torque each run after,that made less and less power because,heat soak where the engine heats up and,the air coming into the engine is hotter,which causes

hey there how is it going today i'm,going to show you how to make,this booster pack for the brand new,blue eddy ac200 let's see how it works,okay imagine this is your blue eddy,and you have used it and you have run,out of battery right,it has 1.7 kilowatt hour battery,so about 1.5 kilowatt hour of usable,i've tested this,but let's say that you used it and now,you're at zero percent,what do you do well you can always plug,it in and charge it you can charge it,from,solar or you can charge it from the wall,or you can charge it with your car,there's a bunch of ways you can charge,it right but let's say that,you are out there and you don't have any,of those ways well,you could also charge it with an,external battery this,is a booster battery that essentially,will add,another 1.2 kilowatt hours,of battery into your blue eddy,how does it do it well you can just use,the solar,charger port to charge it right you just,connect this battery there,and then this is what will happen,i'm charging at 483 watts,right now and it will do that all the,way until it goes to a hundred,percent right so today i'm going to show,you how to build this,all right here is what you're going to,need a case,a charger a bms a couple of cables,and three of these battery packs let's,put this thing together,so the case comes with this foam you're,not gonna need it you can discard it,you can leave the top one because this,one you're gonna,you can leave it on there it helps keep,these batteries,tight in here right so these batteries,don't fit in there,well actually one of them fits in here,but the other ones don't so what you,have to do is you have to cut,these uh these pieces of plastic that's,here,that just overhangs it's really easy to,cut it and once you do that,then you can have all of your batteries,fit,we put installed the uh xt60 connector,here,right and then put the cables and the,cables,are just uh 12 gauge,silicon wire and they're just long,so that's what we're going to do we're,going to start by plugging,those,down is the top one thing,so that's what we're gonna do we're,gonna cut this cable,here and then cut this cable right here,strip back the cable,solder this cable right here,let's try this guy,so that battery is gonna go there like,this,then from there we're gonna solder,another one that's gonna go to this one,and then from there another one,all right so you guys see here positive,goes to positive to positive to positive,negative goes to negative 2,now the next step is to connect,the balance leads or the bms that's it,the battery is done,you're connected but now we need to,install,the bms this is a 36 volt,60 amp continuous common port so it's,the same one to discharge and to charge,the blue cable is the b minus which,means is the battery minus,which means it's gonna go right here so,the hard ones,are the pot plus and minus because they,go all the way down here,but all you do is just you know,cut it here,all right here we go here we go i have,wired,this stuff in here th

mario kart 8 is a stunningly successful,game with over 50 million copies sold,it's one of the top selling titles of,all time so perhaps it's not very,surprising that nintendo has come back,with a content expansion for their,blockbuster cart racer dubbed the,booster course pass this expansion,includes a whopping 48 courses split,over six waves of course releases with,the last content drop scheduled for late,2023 so far 16 courses have been,delivered with the most recent pack,issued earlier this month but these,courses have been mired in controversy,players and press alike have complained,about basic layouts and graphical,downgrades with these new tracks at the,heart of the issue is that almost all of,these tracks have been ported from mario,kart tour a phone and tablet game with,simplified graphics and gameplay so how,do these new booster course tracks stack,up are they a good fit for mario kart 8,or is the distance for mobile platforms,just too large,mario kart 8 had semi-stylized artwork,like prior entries in the mario kart,series now there were plenty of,cartoonish elements the characters for,instance feature the sort of bold,silhouettes and simple textures common,in nintendo's first party software,lighting was exaggerated with plenty of,bloom and particle effects were smooth,and minimally detailed but nintendo took,a slightly different approach with the,race tracks themselves the tracks had,plenty of texture detail and featured,quite elaborate trackside buildings,backdrops and interior spaces aiming for,high frame rates in the limited wii u,hardware meant technical concessions of,course like a heavy reliance on normal,mapping to enhance modest polygon counts,but the mario kart 8 tracks packed a lot,of detail and visual splendor for the,player to enjoy which is frankly what,makes these new booster course tracks so,disappointing obviously we knew that,these tracks were being ported from a,mobile game but there really isn't,common ground technically between the,old tracks and the new to start with the,textures look completely different,booster course tracks have flat low,detail textures in general particularly,on trackside geometry and foliage the,new tracks have a clay-like appearance,as a result with minimal surface detail,in most areas if you do get close to,certain materials however you will,notice that some grime and roughness has,been blended in with overlaid detail,textures these are textures that contain,repeated patterns of high frequency,detail depending on the lighting,conditions this can look okay though it,doesn't match the look of the original,tracks at all most of the time however,objects look almost flat shaded which is,particularly jarring on grass and other,foliage elements some of the game's,textures also appear to exhibit some,compression artifacts there are plenty,of specific textures and models that get,a very different treatment in the,booster courses as well this directional,sign in the base game looks like a,detailed canv
