WordPress - Installing the McAfee TrustedSite Plugin (even though we don't want to)

hey folks i'm troy and you're watching,troy tube today we're going to install,a security plug-in that's not really a,security plug-in i don't think,so one of the things you're kind of,forced to install on your wordpress,website,is the mcafee security plug-in for,trusted site,it's a real pain in the butt i hate that,you have to put it there,but you kind of have to put it there,what happens,is uh you know mcafee has you know,antivirus has been like the,uh being of my existence for 25 years,working in i.t,and there's only a few of them i,recommend the ones i don't recommend are,usually the bigger ones like norton,mcafee,avast and some of those that really can,cause a lot of problems now not,everybody,has problems with them so don't you know,jump in my comments and start,railing on me about that but many many,many times over my career,i've had problems with all of those,antivirus software packages,causing different issues mcafee is,one of the top uh antivirus packages out,there that is on,you know probably millions and millions,of computers they're browsing the web,and basically there's a way they can,detect if your site is running wordpress,or not,and if it is and if it doesn't see it,listed in,its trusted site database it will give,those users who have mcafee installed on,their computers,a warning that this site is not trusted,it's not secure all these things,and so they kind of uh force you to put,this on there,just to get by uh their antivirus checks,and you know it makes their uh you know,the people have it installed on their,workstations and laptops and everything,think,that they are doing something when,they're really not so uh,the end result of that is all of these,websites who have wordpress,end up with a link on their front page,that goes to,the mcafee website and trusted site,so it really gives them a lot of,weight when it comes to search engine,optimization,and leading people back to their sites,it's like you know it's like the,antivirus mafia or something they force,you to do it you don't have a choice,so we're gonna put that on here um later,on in another video i'll show you how to,hide the little thing down the corner,when we get into some styling,but for now we need to install it just,so that people visiting your site,don't run into that problem you know the,ssl certificate we did in the second,video is,a super important part of that and then,you have to take this step it's kind of,the next step,to make sure the people who are using,mcafee on their computers,are able to get to your website so i'll,switch over to the computer and we'll,get started,we're starting out here already logged,into our wordpress control panel,and we're going to go down to the plugin,section and add new,and in the search box we're going to,type mcafee,and you'll find the mcafee secure plugin,and we will click,install and then we will activate the,plugin,if we click on settings it's going to,auto fill the,settings for our email address and,domain name,this will

How TrustedSite helped boost the conversion rate of Handicappedpets.com

my name is preston i work with frictionless commerce we are a,conversionary optimization agency that's based out of michigan,um and i guess just a little bit about us is,we are like i said a cro agency that primarily focuses on providing our,clients with optimization solutions that are based on things like,um first and foremost data but our big focus is also buyer psychology,we kind of like to get into the mind of an online shopper and figure out what,makes them tick um and then we use that information,to ultimately convert them for this um test with trusted site we,worked with a client that we've worked with for quite a few years now,um they're called handicapped pets they specialize in creating pet mobility,solutions for dogs that have um you know certain ailments like hip,dysplasia and things like that so a lot of the products they make are,really really unique and really great um solutions for these pets that frankly,when we first started working with them we,didn't know these sorts of products existed so,it's a very unique product and we're very happy to be working with them,we were involved with the initial conversations about using something like,a trust mark on the site um they were already using a another,competitor's trust mark and um they were really,unsure of if it was having any sort of impact on their site at all,uh and you know we kind of felt the same way we weren't too sure if people were,really responding to it well because i don't think they,tested it themselves the first time uh when they when they previously went with,that um other company i believe that they,tested it themselves that through that company so there,wasn't a lot of you know the the client didn't have a,lot of um knowledge about how the test was,conducted on things like that so they wanted us,to conduct a test for them um to see if one,this new uh this new trust mark from trusted site uh would actually work for,them and two to figure out if the previous trust mark was actually making,them extra dollars,the way we tested this was is pretty simple uh,the control was basically just the version of the site with the previous,companies trust mark on it and then our b variant,was the trusted site trustmarts and what we wanted to measure,were one completed orders and then two we,also wanted to see what the revenue impact was,because ultimately if you have a higher conversion rate,but lower revenue that's not really delivering anything for us we wanted to,make sure that on top of the higher conversion rate we,also had more revenue so those were the two things we really,wanted to measure,usually we run a test for at least four weeks,but because this was a site-wide test you know we were testing the trust marks,on the home page on the footer of every page on the site,cart page and so on um we were able to you know access all,of their visitors so the test was actually able to reach,significance within um within a three week period,uh so that also was actually pretty surpris
