well it's time to fit a dual battery,system to my gu,and i've gone with a couple of decent,deep cycle batteries,now of course everyone is going to look,for something different so make sure you,head to auto one's website,they've got a great range of,supercharged batteries there for your,four-wheel drive,it doesn't matter if you're after a deep,cycle or a starting battery,now to manage the system i'll be using,the projector idc idc45,first step is to get these things,mounted in the back now we're going to,mount these trays straight to the top of,my drawers,they are going to be as solid as you,like and they need to be because these,batteries are heavy,and here they are in place ready to go,okay the idc 45 a 45 amp battery charger,we're mounting it to a little plate,that's going to mount straight to,the cargo barrier this is going to be,nice and safe,time to wire it up get these terminals,on make sure they're the right ones,terminals this big you don't solder them,you crimp them,and not only do you crimp them you,actually double crimp them,now this is the way to make sure the,power going to,and from the charging unit is absolutely,spot on and this,is key for performance and the last,thing you want is for this to let you,down,when you're out in the bush somewhere a,bit of heat shrink here,just to neaten things up it really does,pay to take your time and get the,details right when you're,installing a unit like this this is a,triple battery setup,i'm going to be relying on this i need,to make sure that it's good,okay time to mount it up to the cargo,barrier now,you'll notice that we put everything in,the back of the four wheel drive and,that's to keep it away,from the heat of the under bonnet region,that's really important for the life of,not only a battery charger,but also your batteries,wiring it up it's not terribly difficult,negative to the negative,positive to the positive it doesn't get,much more,simple than that really the idc 45 does,all the work for you you can see a,couple of excess wires we won't be using,there for you more modern vehicles if,you've got a smart alternator,time to run the cabling through to the,front of the vehicle now and through to,where,the main battery is going to be so into,the engine bay,ready to go time to get rid of the old,battery,i think it's crazy not to upgrade your,starting battery at the same time and,that's exactly what we're doing with the,beautiful supercharged gold unit there,that's going to do the job for years to,come,well all that there's left to do now is,to tighten up the terminals,and go back and double check all of the,connections on our system to make sure,that it's going to be safe and reliable,that's the last thing you need is any,sort of failures and check it out,how good does it look the projector idc,45 taking care of the management duties,two 105 amp hour deep cycle batteries,there i know as a content creator that,my needs have been met,now to make sure that your needs have,been met when you're

so in this video we turn a regular,electric fly SWAT into a 17,000 volt fly,SWAT ouch,so this is going to be what I call a,Frankenstein project it's not designed,to be particularly aesthetically,pleasing or well-thought-out it's,designed to get back to the basics and,just have a bit of fun with a simple,electronics project now we will be,playing around with high voltage and I,have seen many many people play pranks,and zap people with these which,admittedly my five-year-old self does,find very entertaining but I don't,endorse it and don't recommend it and,when we modify this to even higher,voltages I really don't recommend it as,always when we're dealing with high,voltages safety and care should be taken,so let's start pulling this fly SWAT,apart and also have a look at some of,the parts we may need so I've bought,this high voltage transformer off eBay I,tested it in a previous video and it,measured approximately seventeen,thousand volts if you want to check out,that video be a link over in the video's,corner here we've also got our electric,flyswatter course rather low voltage to,say the least not very impressive in 18,650 battery costless puts out 3.7 volts,and I've got a couple of 18 650 battery,clips reason I've got two is if I don't,get the desired effect with 118 650 what,the heck let's put a second one on there,for giggles so this is going to be a,project where it's kind of ad libbed not,exactly sure how everything is going to,come together at the end of the video at,this point but we're going to have some,fun doing it,I'll make sure our SWAT is fully,discharged by shorting out the context,all right so not much in here to be,honest,spool that out so that is everything,that makes this fly SWAT to now we're,going to put that aside for the moment,because now we have to focus on how we,go about installing everything in here,I'm hoping that ok we're going to have,to cut some of these tabs out in order,to get that cover to fit on the,transformer so I will do that and come,back when that's done so I just used a,dremel tool to cut away the posts there,and now the transformer does indeed fit,into the housing when I line it up,properly and while I was at it I,enlarged the factory switch hole to,accept this momentary switch because,unfortunately the switch that came with,is mounted on the PCB board and we're,not going to be able to use that so that,pops in there and now we've got a switch,again now unfortunately we can't use two,doublea's as there isn't enough voltage,I have tried this transformer running,off three volts and it does absolutely,nothing three point seven is the magical,number or higher actually so obviously,we can't fit out 18 650 in the factory,battery location and we're going to have,to use these clips anyway so I'm going,to propose that with the switch,installed and hold it and figure out,where I can place these on the outside,of the handle and in a location which,doesn't interfere with my hand and they,looks pretty good so I think i

okay so it seems like every few months a,new company someone comes out with the,new,fastest ever charging smartphone like,years ago the flagship iphone was,charging at five watts and that was,fairly standard it would take about two,and a half hours to charge the phone,from zero to a hundred then when the,pixel one came out that was super fast,charging at 18 watts then soon the,iphone bumped up to 20. then you might,remember one plus beat out everybody for,a couple years with 30 watts but soon we,had 45,65,80. now today right now this xiaomi 12,pro ships with this 120,watt charger this you could you can buy,this right now today it charges the,whole phone from zero to 100 in 17,minutes and then just a few weeks ago,oppo demoed this it's not on a real,smartphone yet but it would charge a,theoretical,240 watts which would go from zero to a,hundred,in nine minutes that's pretty ridiculous,and then as you may have noticed like i,have pretty much any time one of these,demos gets posted somewhere universally,the comments across the board are like i,don't want that on my phone that,definitely is going to overheat,good luck plugging that in for more than,five minutes before it explodes people,across the board are universally,convinced that there is no way that this,can be good for your smartphone's,battery which got me thinking,if this is true,then why would these companies keep,doing this,is fast charging actually ruining your,battery so i dove into it i just go,straight in plenty of google searches,plenty of articles read plenty of people,talk to and plenty of hot takes out,there but this is what i found so,batteries have improved in their,chemistry over time but right now all,phones use lithium ion or lithium,polymer batteries and the way they work,is they have a positive side and a,negative side and the lithium ions flow,from the negative to the positive side,through a liquid electrolyte solution,and as they flow energy is released into,the circuit that's what's keeping the,phone powered by the battery when that,flow is over though the battery has,reached zero percent and is dead so,charging the battery back up is moving,those ions back through from the,positive to the negative side through,that electrolyte solution so the first,thing to know about charging a battery,is batteries are kind of like a sponge,like they they absorb the most energy,when they have the least in them and,then as they get closer and closer to,full they can't absorb quite as,efficiently and then there is some,excess lost with a sponge it's just,extra water passing through with a,battery that's just excess heat and so,what that looks like is charging,actually happens on a curve those,numbers that you keep seeing with the,100 watts and 150 watt fast charging,that's not the constant rate of charging,that's just the peak the maximum that,they're capable of but that's typically,only briefly the actual rate so a 65,watt fast charger for example will,typically only hit 65 watts for the,

you're talking me you know racing some,some stiff competition and no longer,either you know getting my butt kicked,or squeaking out wins or squeaking you,know like you're talking a major game,changer right there,alright guys so we're gonna talk about a,couple of things that I've been,researching looking into and you know in,the comments section definitely weigh in,let me know what you guys think what you,would potentially do so I was looking,into the intake manifold and really,looking at the potential gains that I,would receive for the amount of money,that I would be paying and I ended up,saying you know what I don't think this,is the best route for me to go at the,moment I think I can spend my money,elsewhere and get a little bit more bang,for the buck so that comes and that,brings us to the camp and forced-air now,I've been talking with Jay green and he,has cams that will you'll get a cam and,a custom tune to load up for about,fifteen to eighteen hundred dollars,depends on the cam that you want what,kind of horsepower what kind of idle,you're looking for with that cam anybody,that knows or anybody that doesn't know,anything about a cam it feeds your,engine more gas a cool part about a cam,obviously outside of just the,performance like the you know the amount,of horsepower that you're gonna gain he,said I could expect anywhere from about,fifty to seventy wheel horsepower which,is a huge jump that would put my car,well over four hundred wheel horsepower,and that's that's a lot right there and,so you know the part where I'm looking,into is the financial part of it,if it costs me about $1,500 that's on,the low end and then $1,000 for install,you're talking $2,500 I have a tune,jade-green provides a tune that I can,load up to my mighty to and so $2,500,for about 50 to 70 wheel horsepower,depending on which cam that I want to go,with so you're you know you have to,factor 25 to $3,000 it's always a little,bit more than what you initially plan,for so that's the camp brow and that is,a route that I was kind of leaning,towards until I found the cheapest best,forced air system I've ever seen when I,was looking into forced air I kept,coming across Edelbrock supercharger,hiddens Whipple's Pro Chargers man,there's so many centrifugal force,superchargers out there for for you to,choose from but they're all in a price,range that's a little steep and so,they're probably in the $7,000 range,okay from what I've gathered yes you,could get one on sale and I'll come out,for like you know $6,000 but in the end,you're spending a minimum of eight,thousand dollars to get a forced air,system now the big advantage to that is,you're walking away with a lot more than,50 to 70 wheel horsepower with a proper,tune if you go and get you know a pro,charger and use their crappy tune you're,not going to see the kind of gains that,you would if you get a custom dyno tune,also - I do have headers on this so it,would likely translate into,more horsepower than if this thing was,bone st

so why would you turn your charge rate,down,instead of up we're gonna discuss that,today,hey guys good morning welcome back to,the channel,so my name is matt and this is tech,forum on this channel i discuss,the ownership experience of a tesla,model 3 in this case,my car is a bit of a unicorn it is a,long range,rear wheel drive model three this is an,early car,it is vin number 9300 and something,and i've got 109 over 109 000 miles on,it,and in in today's video i wanted to,discuss,my experience when it comes to charging,now,most people want their cars to charge as,fast as possible,and i get it i'm definitely that way in,in a lot of instances,especially when i'm traveling i want to,go to the supercharger,and get the car to charge as fast as,humanly possible so that i can get back,on the road and continue my trip,however from a day-to-day standpoint,i began to to do a little bit of,experimentation and i found,something that uh that seems to work,very very well,at least for me in my circumstance,now this all started about uh,i don't know a couple of months back i,uh i was doing some work,in a uh storage room in my house in the,back of our garage,and uh i was i was back at the circuit,breaker panel there and,and uh looking for a breaker for another,circuit in the house,when i noticed that the circuit breaker,for the charge,uh the charge circuit for the car was,hot i mean i didn't burn my hand on it,or anything but it was noticeably pretty,hot,and um so i i looked into it and i found,that,the i i have a 30 amp circuit feeding my,car,and the charger was drawing about 33 or,34 amps,off that 30 amp circuit continuously,well 34 amps off that circuit and then,when you figure some line losses it was,probably pulling 35 amps off that,30 amp breaker and um,i so i thought well you know it's,awfully hot,i should probably turn the charge rate,down so i went into the car's,uh you know charging uh screen here if,you hit the battery icon it comes up,and just to the left right here you can,see that you can change the charge,current,so you can see here you can turn the,charge rate up,or you can turn the charge rate down,so whatever you whatever you feel like,setting it for,you can you can set it for,personally i like to have mine down at,about 25 amps,so just as a means of of easing a load,on the circuit breaker i turn the charge,current down to 25,amps well i noticed a few things that,that happened when i did that,right off the bat obviously that circuit,breaker was no longer running hot it was,just lukewarm went from being,pretty hot to the touch to just being a,little bit warmer than the other,breakers,very cool secondly i noticed other,things like,the charge connector connected to the,back of my car it used to get pretty hot,and it that is a lot cooler,the line from the charge handle uh to my,garage,is noticeably cooler it used to be warm,now it's,just like ambient temperature,i also noticed that the uh the expected,miles of range versus the percentage,battery capa

supercharger garmin whenever you've seen,that in the video title you probably,thought i was,smoking a little something but hear me,out and i think i can help your fishing,so as you all know,live sonar has taken over the fish in,the world i mean everybody from local,tournament studs all the way up to the,elite pros is running some form of live,imaging on their boat in fact all three,major brands have some of electronics,have some form of live sonar out but,what these companies are failing to tell,you is how much electricity and power it,takes to run these units efficiently,when i first got garmin and i've had,live scope since livescope first come,out,um i connected it to my cranky battery,just like everybody else,and the images were,okay at best,um couldn't really see your bait too far,out you really couldn't see your bait,too too deep under the boat um,and i hunted for a change i knew it,could be better so i went through every,setting in that garment i talked to 50,different guys about settings and i got,it to where i thought it was the best it,was going to get,until i stumbled upon this,lithium outdoor brand amped outdoors,and they made a,battery that put out more than 12 volts,and i was intrigued by this,so i did a little research you know,google like everybody else does,and,found out that my garmin head unit could,handle up to 18 volts like all other,brands hummingbird lowrance all of them,can,and the gls 10 box which is that sonar,module that you have to use for the live,scope can handle up to 32 volts,so i bit the bullet i bought the battery,connected it up,and,from my cranking battery when i had my,garment on my cranking battery i was,only seeing,11.4 to around 12.1 volts and that's,pretty consistent across the board that,i've seen when you run livescope off,your cranking battery but when i,connected my garmin to my lithium-amped,outdoors battery i was seeing 16.8 volts,to my front unit,and when i first flipped that thing on,it was like a world of difference it's,literally like that garmin was on crack,i mean everything was crisper i could,see my bait farther i could see my bait,deeper it really made that garment come,alive and ever since then when people,hop on my boat they're like dude how is,that so much cleaner how's that so much,crisper than mine,and my best answer for them is voltage,these units need power they need,electricity they need a good strong,clean power source in air in order to,run efficiently and,the amped outdoors battery is just the,best solution it's small it only weighs,under eight pounds i'm going to post a,picture of it up here somewhere on the,screen blah blah somewhere,but it's a small battery it doesn't,weigh much,um,doesn't take up a lot of room in the,back,i run and there is a right way to mount,one,i run a straight 10 gauge wire to the,front connected to that battery and i,will do a video on how to mount it but,when you do that it literally makes your,garmin come alive,and everybody that i have talked to,that's

what's going on guys it's cameron from,tinker's musings here i do apologize,first of all,for the lack of content the last month,or so it's just been a bit hectic and,i'm looking forward to getting back into,content creation on a more regular basis,today we're going to be covering,upgrades in my home lab,let's get started,all right so,one of the biggest upgrades of the home,lab that i've been working on is,the transition from 120 volts to 240,volts,and essentially,the reasoning behind that is when you,get to a certain capacity in your home,lab,you have so many watts,being drawn from a socket at a given,time and currently my,garage setup has 15 amps available,on the basic circuit,for 120 volts and this is fine generally,speaking,but i'm hitting a point where i'm going,to be surpassing what is safe for a,single socket,and,i'm looking at,long-term,build out,and future,expansion,currently just in a half rack but,when planning out your,home lab,think about,what you want to achieve maybe you don't,need as much power as i do,i'm probably not going to use,all the available power,but,it gives me the flexibility to spin,things up and down with ease of mind and,not worry about overloading my circuits,so,as part of the plan i'm getting a 30 amp,240 volt circuit installed the previous,owners of this house had a spa,or a hot tub circuit that was 250 250,volts 240 volts,and,it's a double pole breaker 50 amps that,available capacity on the breaker panel,is what i'll be repurposing for is the,30 amp circuit that will be,installed in the garage,and,as you can probably see here,we have this 5000 volt amp 208 volt,rack mount 3u,ups,and it's actually a pretty decent unit,it,has capacity for,i think 3 500 watts,and that means 3 500 watts at 208 volts,i am bringing in,power at 240 volts but the ups delivers,at 208 volts it will take anything from,the high 100s to 240,and maybe a little higher as input,voltage,and then output 208 volts,and so when you take say,my current setup which is about a,thousand watts or a kilowatt,and you divide that,by 208 that gives you the amps that it,draws from the wall,so in order to calculate amperage,we would take,1 000,divided by 208,and we get roughly 4.8 amps,when i was planning on,this i wanted to make sure i got a unit,that could handle,a significant load,i went back and forth with people in the,in the community,about whether,20 amps or 30 amps would be best and,30 amps ultimately is where we settled,where i settled actually and it was very,strongly recommended that this is the,direction i would go,so,this unit,has been discontinued recently actually,it was discontinued as of december of,2021,and it's now out of service technically,i bought this unit used on ebay,it came with two new batteries and the,batteries they slide in on this side of,the ups you take the front bezel off,and then you,slide them in connect the front panel,connectors,there they shift separately actually so,the unit came,in one box and then the two batteries,came

for folks that follow my channel you'll,probably already know that i do another,series with my amazing rev generator,amplifier called can rev do where i kind,of dive in and try to create some,classic tones or get in the ballpark of,some classic tones utilizing the,revgenerator amp in conjunction with its,onboard two notes torpedo remote,software now this has sparked a lot of,interest,from folks in the rev and two notes,community but also from folks in the,helix community who follow my channel,who've shown great interest in some of,the two notes dyna ir products and,wondering how they would work in,conjunction with the helix one complaint,that you hear a lot on the internet not,one that i necessarily agree with but,one that you do hear is that the helix,stock cabs are terrible you can't get,any good sound of the helix unless you,use some sort of third-party impulse,response and we do have an impulse,response loader built into the helix and,many many folks do utilize this i love,the stock cabs i use the stock cabs i,think they're great i think i can get as,good a sound of those as i can out of,any other third-party ir and i've done,it with many of the tones that i've,created but again if someone feels that,they need to use third-party irs then,they should absolutely do that but i had,a lot of interest in folks asking how,could we incorporate these two notes,dynairs into the helix and it got me,thinking about,can we use some of the two nose products,to really as i mentioned supercharge our,helix and not just simply as an impulse,response loader for third-party impulse,responses or the two notes proprietary,dyneirs but some other functions that,are built into one amazing two notes,product that i have and that is the,torpedo cab m plus,this is a unit i've had for a while and,i love it i think it's really well,thought out i mean a lot of times i do,use the built-in torpedo that's built,into my rev amp but i love having this,product and i think it's a really great,product that we could actually use in,conjunction with our helix or even more,so our hx stomp to add some,functionality that a lot of folks wish,was in the helix so without further ado,let's dive into this and i'm just going,to fulfill this request that i've had,from many people to showcase these fine,products in conjunction with our helix,here we are over at hx edit you'll,notice i have a little preset setup,looks a little different than what i,normally do i do have my little,compressor at the end just barely doing,anything just kissing the sound i like,that to be there i have an effects loop,and you might be wondering what this is,uh on loop one so i have something in,the send and return we'll talk about,that in a second i have a little tiny,bit of transistor tape delay which i'll,turn off for now and i have a revgen red,amp model just sitting here in the path,which is going to be what i'm going to,use for the bulk of today's video but i,also you'll notice i have a disengage,rev gen red prea
