hi there guys tom quayle here hope,everybody's doing very well as ever,now this is without a doubt one of the,most exciting videos i've ever put,together for this youtube channel or my,career generally,because today is the day i can announce,to you guys that my debut app,solo is available to download in the app,store right now,solo has been designed by myself and my,good buddy david beebe,as the ultimate fretboard visualization,practice tool,but i want to explain to you why we,created solo in the first place,i've been teaching guitar and playing,guitar for around 25 years now and it's,been my experience that traditional ways,of teaching fretboard visualization,are really as much of a burden for,guitar players as they are,a help i've been thinking for many years,now about this process this complex,process of mapping out the fretboard,for guitar players and i really believe,that this system of utilizing,multi-octave six string shapes like,three note per string the cage system,pentatonic boxes really present a lot of,problems and like a brick wall,barrier for a lot of guitar players in,their ability,to manipulate harmony in real time,whilst improvising,over chord changes or learning new,scales,and this is fundamentally because when,we learn these large shapes,we don't pay enough attention to how,each of the notes within these large,shapes,relate back to the root note of the,chord or scale that we're utilizing or,playing over at the time,this makes improvisation with these,large shapes very difficult because it's,very hard,to manipulate large pieces of,information as compared to very small,pieces of information,now this is where solo comes in solo is,designed,to help you learn the fretboard in much,more detail by,always having you think about how each,note that you play,relates to the chord or scale that,you're utilizing,at the time solo works by utilizing a,system of visualization called,intervallic functions now if you guys,follow this channel you might remember i,did a video a couple of months ago,called how i visualize the fretboard,and essentially what i'm doing in that,video is teaching people,this system of visualizing using,intervallic functions now don't worry if,you've never heard of intervallic,functions before,you can check out the video above here,or down below in the description,and in that video i go through the,system of visualization which i believe,fundamentally is the most powerful way,of visualizing the fretboard,if you want to be able to play over,changes kind of mask the harmony on the,fretboard and,really be able to play any scale,anywhere on the fretboard it kind of,sounds like snake oil,but believe me guys it's not it's still,incredibly hard work,but i believe that practicing in this,way with intervallic functions,really gives you the most powerful,flexible and ultimately most rewarding,and satisfying way of visualizing this,quite complex instrument it's our goal,with solo to help,solve some of these problems that guitar,play

i've been doing gig work for two years,now time is flying by and during this,time i've been able to create a youtube,channel and talk to many gig workers,across the country and also youtubers,who create good content i realize that,there's about three common themes that,all successful gig workers have whether,you're doing this full-time or part-time,they're able to continue to thrive and,continue to make money in the gig,economy we're going to talk about those,themes in this video and also more,importantly we're going to talk about,the solo app that actually bring those,three things together were you able to,make more money be more efficient with,your time and energy let's get into it,right now,so we all know that most people do this,kind of gig work as a side hustle a side,income you make some money to go on a,trip or you pay some bills or you're,just trying to save money i spend some,time just asking a simple question to,full-time gig workers where do you live,what kind of apps do you use how many,apps you turn on i started to ask a lot,of questions to as much people as,possible to have an idea of exactly what,it takes to be successful in gig work,whether you're doing it full-time or,part-time and i've noticed that there's,three common themes for every successful,gig worker for every successful,independent contractor the three m's not,two m's not eminem or the candy which i,would like to have some right now but,the three m's and the three m's are your,market your multi-apping and your,mindset i know real clever right yeah,probably not anyway so let's talk about,the 3m market which is most important,part of gig work or any kind of business,in general is about your market i made a,community post a couple of days ago and,i asked all full-time gig workers where,do you live where do you make your money,where do you make that bread and i,realized that most people live in major,cities in major states with dense,population lots of people which is a lot,of opportunities to make money so when,you're trying to do well in gig work,regardless if you're doing it part-time,or full-time you're gonna have to go,where the people are you have to go,where the opportunities are where the,businesses are based on your market,where you work is the most important,part if you have to drive longer,distance to find a dual market that may,be something that you may have to decide,to do multi-happing we have talked about,multi-apping all the time everyone talks,about multi-having because it's true,it's hard to make a decent living doing,one app especially right now how crazy,things are with economy so you need to,have multi-apps but you also got to take,it to the next level what does that mean,i'll tell you right now most people,think oh i'll turn on two and three apps,and i'll get my work done for the most,part but i noticed that people who are,really good at this gig work stuff full,timers who doing it very very well they,don't have two to three apps they have,five six seve
